Yeah, its all part of a Pilot Program that the last 5 years theyll place cameras in places like san jose. Oakland. And in San Francisco. Speak cameras as part of a new Pilot Program. San francisco, oakland, san jose, the 3 bay area cities are part of 6 california cities including la glendale and long beach. The city of San Francisco has committed to have the program up and running by 2025 and will have 33 cameras in total. They can only. The on streets that are in school zones or or our streets that have shown very high crash rates walk San Francisco who is in favor of the speed cameras say they understand the privacy concerns but believe this bill was tailored to address those concerns. The bill was. Crafted so carefully because of those privacy concerns. And its, you know, these cameras, they only take a picture if you are going more than 11 miles above the speed limit. Its only a photo of the license plate. That is not in the polices. And its in the transportation departments hands. And then theres a very limited amount of time they came hold on to that data. But not all groups are for this move. The nonprofit called oakland privacy has concerns about privacy inequity. And to privacy advocates. Well, the Contra Costa County sheriffs corridor corner is set to hold an investigation into the shooting and death of an elderly man by Oakley Police. It was well, the meeting is set to happen friday at the Wakefield Taylor courthouse in martinez. Hes back on august 22nd, though, that Oakley Police responded to a report of a domestic dispute on theresa lane. The caller said her boyfriend was holding a gun in the car, but they were both in and threatening to kill both her and himself. When police arrived, shots were fired between them. They killed the man and now the coroner will hold that meeting today about meanwhile, in the south bay, the Santa Clara Sheriffs Office is investigating a homicide after a womans body was found on the side of the road in san jose. A person was injured. They were struck by broken glass when their car was hit by at least one bullet. They drove themselves to the hospital and there have been no arrests made. The investigation is ongoing. Will San Mateo County supervisor dave canepa is set to introduce legislation to help revive brought moores Police Department. Supervisor. Canepa is expected to introduce about 750,000 to be put into a rescue plan as an effort to support the departments financial crisis. Well, fire crews have contained a house fire in daly city, north county fire. Authorities responded to this fire on gellert boulevard about 7 oclock last night in the serramonte neighborhood. Crews say that a car parked in the driveway was on fire when they arrived then spread to the garage. You can see the damage done to the front of this home. Luckily, nobody was hurt, but 2 people have been displaced. Fire Officials Say a broken few line from the car outside may have caused that fire. Time now 7. 36 and we have a developing story out of sunnyvale where police are investigating that citys first homicide of the year. And police say 2 women who were sitting in a car were shot. One of them died. Police later found the shooter with a selfinflicted gunshot wound proper. Sarah stinson, explain what happened. Neighbors say theyre shaken up. They did not expect Something Like this to happen in their normally safe neighborhood and same with police. They havent investigated a homicide since 2021. Its extremely shocking because stuff like that doesnt happen here. A tragic scene unfolding in this quiet sunnyvale neighborhood around 5. 30, monday morning. Neighbors called 911 reporting screaming and gunshots coming from a home on care. Strike the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety says when officers arrived, they found 2 women shot in the car outside the home. Tragically, one of victims did not survive. The other victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital for treatment. Police say the woman is expected to recover. She was able to tell officers the name of the man who shot them and what kind of car he drove off shortly after police tried to pull over the suspected shooter, but he fled leading to a pursuit, but it ended after they lost sight of him. Less than an hour later, Santa Clara County sheriffs deputies found the man in his car of Stevens Canyon road in cupertino. They followed him for a short while and then lost sight of him. But i did find the suspect again, his vehicle was parked. The suspect was located in the vehicle deceased what appeared to be a selfinflicted gunshot wound. Police did not get much information about the man but said that he and the victim knew each other. Police also added the man was in his late 50s, lived in sunnyvale for many years and that police had contact with him before he was known to neighbors as well was living at his parents house. He . He corrupt. There were definitely aware of surrounding this particular house sherry and has lived in this neighborhood for nearly 21 years. She says its normally such a safe area. So this was upsetting to learn about nobody expected anything like this to have 2 million years. I mean. To really crazy. Police say they recovered a handgun. Many still remember this day, in fact, today, march 34 years since the devastating loma prieta earthquake. It was a 6. 9 quake that killed 63 people injured more than 3,000 others and caused billions of dollars in damage to San Francisco and the surrounding bay area. The problem is that the shelters out of space and theyve been struggling to find homes for the cats and dogs that have been in their shelter for several months. Right now in east bay fire. Investigators are looking for clues about what caused a massive fire. It happened over the weekend in livermore on sunday afternoon near the home street and khan cannon boulevard. This is next to a Retail Business center on homes and 3 empty buildings that were slated for demolition were destroyed by the flames. Firefighters were able to save a restaurants and businesses that were right next door. They combed through the wreckage for clues starting to try to figure out what caused the fire. Meantime, those who live and work in that area say that those empty buildings had become populated with Homeless People say that that made the area safe. Definitely Homeless People living there.
