A pregnant woman and her baby have died after a hit and run in san jose. Tragic story. Police now searching for the person responsible. Kron fours will tran following all of the developments for us in san jose. Will. As the San Jose Police department continue searching for the suspects. The family and friends. They were getting ready to celebrate a life. Now they are mourning lives and the San Jose Police department. They dont have any solid descriptions to pass along to the public at this particular time. And were talking 2 days since the tragedy occurred about 10 minutes from this location. So let me show you a map. This all went down at around 8. 45. On tuesday night at the intersection of wind field boulevard and blossom hill road. This is off of 87 takes only about 10 minutes for Police Officers to arrive to the scene when they got there. They notice this woman. 21 years old. Her name is april sot glower. Well, she was involved in an accident. She was just minding her own business when all of a sudden another car comes along, slams into her at the intersection. She was rushed to the hospital, but later died. She was reportedly 8 months pregnant. They had to do an emergency c section to take the baby from her body to try to keep the baby alive. And that baby was alive for one day. And we learned late last night, but the baby died from the injuries. Family and friends, of course, devastated. April, i mean, you think shes a sweet girl work everybody loved being a contract, everybody. Difficult. Now. Lets talk about those 2 suspects. We know that they were in an reported stolen car after colliding at the intersection. They took off on foot. Im sure there are surveillance cameras in that particular area. But so far they have not had or not willing to release any solid descriptions of the 2 people who were they were looking for as far as the car. As i mentioned on reported stolen car. The San Leandro Community is shocked by this shooting that happened in the middle of the day. Were learning the victim was a barber at this shop down the street. Its a family oriented shop. Every time ive come, dozens of people gathering near the crime scene tape tuesday afternoon, crying and hugging one another after hearing a member of their community was shot and killed around one san leandro. Police started getting calls of shots fired. Your east 14th street and blossom way tie rod sampson says he wouldnt expect this to happen here, dont be happening like this. But this is starting to. Oakley police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting that happened at a house party over the weekend. A sixteenyearold named kamarion talker from brentwood was shot and killed and 3 others were injured. 2 are still in the hospital. The Joseph Emerson pleaded not guilty to 83 counts of seconddegree attempted murder. His first appearance in federal court is for a single count of interfering with a flight crew member and passengers. The fbi says the government representatives will never ask for money in a Wire Transfer or cryptocurrency or prepaid gift cards. So dont be fooled. Well, a man has been arsted now in connection with a Fatal Shooting that briefly led to a shelter in place in monterey over the weekend. The Sonoma County Sheriffs Office accusi Joseph Boucher of shooting and killing chris job fee. This was onoscow road on on sunday afternoon, deputies ordered that shelter in place after the show was seen walking near the property. Neighborhoods could be the first cultural district for the Lgbtq Community. Excited. Im big on its and this is this is historic. This is historic. Some overwhelmed oakland needs. Its own. On say spaces, cultural districts, far lgbtq and thats whats happening now. The cofounders of oaklands Lgbtq Community center say an official designation would solidify what already exists in the area. Run bars, restaurants and other businesses as well as the center itself can be found in the lakeshore area. Joe hawkins says San Francisco gets a lot of attention for lgbtq culture, but its just as important in oakland and it shouldnt be lost on people either that oakland are Lgbtq Community centers founded my black people and is one of the in the state. Its not the only one founded by black people. Community leaders also say recent anti drag an antitrans legislation as well as increased attacks on lgbtq rights across the country. Show a known safe space is needed in oakland in general. We want to space that we can say this is our and we bring everybody together. With allies and people who are friendly. Well in the east bay, walnut creek, police are investigating more robberies as businesses say theyre seeing an uptick in crime. A particular place being hit fairly often appears to be Broadway Plaza. It was just last week that lululemon was targeted for thousands of dollars. Although police were able to fairly quickly catch the suspects involved in that case. But a few hours later, police say 2 people were robbed at gunpoint after leaving dinner on locust street in botelho drive. And then 3 weeks before that, the louis but on location Broadway Plaza made headlines after 15 people broke into that shop using a car, driving it through a window to get inside and then stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise employees that we spoke with their Broadway Plaza say they are now more mindful than ever about their surroundings. The medical examiner has now identified the motorcyclist who died in a crash on highway 101, in palo alto on saturday. Melvin alfredo. That person is now turn himself police say the stabbing happened monday night at the round walk Village Apartment complex on north mcdowell boulevard in petaluma. Investigators say that juan martinez, montano got into a fight with another man in his car and then stabbed the victim in the face and other parts of his body. Montano then apparently ran away, leaving his 2 children inside the car. Police say montano turn himself in the next day. The victims are recovering at the hospital. The identities of 2 inmates who were found dead at the maguire correctional facility have now been identified publicly. Peter Edward Mclaughlin and Ronald Simmons were found dead in 2 separate instances a day apart. Mclaughlin was found dead in his cell early friday morning. He was discovered during an hourly check. The initial statement from the Sheriffs Office says that he likely died due to natural causes. But an investigation is looking deeper into that. Simmons was found unresponsive on saturday in another cell at the jails Behavioral Health unit. He was a declared dead at the scene. His death initially ruled a suicide. But again, theyre looking into that in a full investigation as well. Well, advocates for rent control rally together outside the State Capitol for a 3rd time in 5 years, voters will have a shot at passing a rent control measure. Advocates say the median rent across the state is now more than 2800 a month. One of the main components of the ballot measure seeks to repeal the state law that prevents local municipalities from placing rent control on houses and apartments.
