Kaiser oaklander says her car was stolen right in front of her as she left work on friday. Trump was amanda hari spoke with the victim. The city of Oakland County like literally there was nothing to protect me or my car. That mullet. A scary moment for taylor bagby as she left work friday night. Bagby is a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at clint. She parts of the garage near broadway and macarthur freeway. Because of safety issues in the area, she usually starts for 2021. She says the Security Guard called for backup, but it took them too long to get there. When they called police, they told them to expect a long wait to marry. Like weve got 187 calls. Its a friday in oakland like that. That would be the last thing we come and check up why she found out from the guard that someone broke window hours before coming back to steal the car. But she wasnt notified. This just seems to be a reoccurring move because the guys that it was a 6 car that theyve taken since hes worked there at the parking garage. Her lunch break, but a few months ago, Kaiser Center memo to their staff urging them not to leave during their shifts because of safety concerns. She says she hopes both the city and kaiser will do more to protect people who work at and utilize the hospital. Community members started collecting signatures for the recall petition last month saying theyre fed up with crime and the lack of a Permanent Police chief in a city. Question is should to try to make things better what issue shes not done the first thing she does is the going to mayor thao has told kron 4 the recall campaign is organized by her political opponents who previously ran against her. The recalled group says theyve collected more than 123,000 signatures. 73,500 need to be verified in order to hold a recall election. In the south bay. A pedestrian is in Critical Condition after being hit by a car in san jose. It happened saturday morning in the area of south 7th street and phelan avenue. The roads shut down for several hours but are back open. No word on what happened to the driver involved. Francisco, a man is recovering after being shot in the citys Outer Mission neighborhood. This happeiday morning at a home on all many boulevard. Police say they found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital with lifethreatening injuries. No arrests made yet. Police in antioch are asking for help identifying this person here. They say this man was caught on camera, stealing a car, then dumping it later near east 6th street. Anyone with information is asked to get in touch with police. And this morning, a School Resource officer and fairfield is under arrest, accused of sending inappropriate texts to underage students. All right, stephanie, the resource officer at Rodriguez High School was arrested on saturday and has been booked into the Solano County jail where he remains. But heres what we know happened. Fairfield police say officer james lewis was arrested on saturday accused of exchanging Inappropriate Text Messages and photos to 2 underage female students. According to police, the parents of the students contacted Police Department about this matter on friday. Now, soon after that, an independent investigation was conducted by the County District attorneys office. Lewis has been charged with sending or exhibiting a harmful or obscene material to a minor and contacting or communicating with a minor with the intent to commit a crime. Now he has been placed on administrative leave as the das das office continues to investigate. In a statement from fairfield, police say do say, quote, we are simultaneously disappointed, infuriated and saddened by this information. Acts like these violate that trust our holy inexcusable. And phil, to exemplify what the fairfield Police Department stands now, the Fairfield Police also saying that they will remain completely transparent in this process. In the south bay, now firefighters responded to a house fire saturday near the westfield valley fair mall. Video shows the flames that started on daniel way. Officials say propane tanks were involved in pg and e crews were also on scene to assist. The fire was eventually knocked out. No injuries reported. And new this morning, police in oakland need your help identifying a man and recovering a dog taken during a burglary. Lets take a look at images of the car and the man police are trying to fine. Poloce say 3 people burglarized that business a business rather around 11 00pm tuesday near the oakland airport. Police say a dog named ghost was also taken during the burglary. All right. A Bipartisan Group of lawmakers working to force big changes to social media giant tiktok. The group coming together on a bill aiming to separate tiktok from its Chinese Parent Company bytedance. The bill is flat out ban on tiktok but it would prevent american ab stores from listing it if it does stay under its current ownership. Some lawmakers worry china is already using tiktok to influence elections in other countries. And its leader xi jinping have their hands deep in the inner workings of the company. With devastating consequences for our own personal freedoms. I certainly think its a the app that influence. With chinese our population should the ccp want to do that . Lawmakers appear to be trying to fast track the bill if passed bytedance. We have 6 months to separate itself from tiktok. Microsoft says it now has a better understanding of what happened after it was hacked. The hackers they say use stolen information to access the companys source code and internal systems. Theres not weatherrelated, but keep in mind cause, some schedule issues for your sunday. Theres a look from space. The thicker cloud cover has to drop across the bay. So well see some thinning of the clouds a little bit for some folks. And again, the east and the south bay looks like winds are calm. Now. We expect a pop of winds this afternoon not too long lasting, but it will be a precursor of motion before the rain moves in here shortly after sunset. Now where temperatures are in the 50s and the 40s for right now. 43 going on for Half Moon Bay, but a 53 for san jose. Quite a bit of cloud cover. All right, dave, thank you. Its popular week for United Airlines with multiple close calls involving its planes nationwide. You may have seen the video. Flames bursting out of this plane engine right there. This was a flight monday from houston to fort myers. This plane was forced to make an Emergency Landing and investigation found bubble wrap got into the engine and then on thursday, this united flight departing from sfo lost one of its wheels as it was taking off. You can see that happening right there was headed for japan. The tire crashed through a fence and you can crush some parked cars. And on friday, a flight from San Francisco to mexico city was diverted to l a after an issue with the planes hydraulic system. This flight marks united 4th issue in a week yesterday, a flight landing at houstons airport rolled off the runway into the grass as it exited the runway for the gate. Passengers had to be taken off the plane and bus to the terminal. This incident is under investigation. The Justice Department is launching a criminal investigation after a door plug blew off an Alaska Airlines plane after takeoff. The incident happened in january. Several people suffered minor injuries. And the north bay on tuesday, Sonoma County supervisors consider a resolution that would declare racism a Public Health crisis. Officials say the move will help increase attention to health disparities. 300 volunteers gathered this week to pick up trash in san jose. Mayor matt mahan posting this video group collected more than 10,000 pounds of trash along the Guadalupe River and downtown mayor mahan says collective action like this is what makes the city better. He says he plans to have more events like this in the future. This weekend. You can expect more officers out oakland looking for illegal sideshow activity and reckless driving. Officials say this is in response to recent complaints of sideshows in different communities. Winter storms across the state are expected to lead to a milder than normal wildfire season. Our snowpack recently measured 104 of normal from march. The Police Arrest a man for leaking sewage out of an rv in a public area. Officers say it happened friday morning. They found the man leaking sewage into a storm drain on toledo street when officers tried to speak with a man, they say he refused to get out of his rv. And after an hour of that person complied and police took him into custody. Republicans in the state legislature are demanding governor gavin newsom provide more information about exemption in the states new minimum wage law. It comes amid a report suggesting that newsom included a loophole to benefit one of his donors. Capitol correspondent Eytan Wallace brings us the latest. If theres nothing there, proven Republican Senate minority leader brian jones says thats his message to governor gavin newsom over a very specific exemption made in the states new fast food minimum wage law. The law will require most fast food chains in california to increase the minimum wage to 20 per hour by april. 1st, but a car but was made for businesses that bake and sell bread as a standalone item. Many have said that includes panera a bloomberg article last week suggested that car was put in place to benefit new. Some dont. And panera bread. Franchisee billionare greg flynn after he expressed concern the new minimum wage would hurt the 2 dozen panera bread franchises he owns across the for his part. Today were sharing the story of a cancer survivor who is dedicating her life to helping kids in underserved communities. Prof was Tiffany Justice brings us her story. When i when i started with music for minors, i wonderful opportunity, wonderful organization. Best kept secret for the past 14 years. Sonja wall them youth has been bringing back the music. Now as the ceo of music for minors, a nonprofit in the bay area. Shes trying to change the lives of students through music. I felt a lot of people need to know about this under her leadership. The program has expanded and is now in schools across the peninsula, spanning from south San Francisco to san jose growing from 7,000 kids. A 26,000 students and 13 School Districts with the majority of their work focused on underrepresented communities. Knew that to have a greater impact we needed to do kind of districtwide because its really important to us that all kids have the opportunity. So we do core music, education elementary. We focus on elementary because thats where the biggest void programs or money as well. Then use as a great example of seeing this program in motion is at Jason Dahl Elementary School in san jose where for now the program is fully subsidized. And has been going on for the past 3 years. What do you think about doing going . Thinking about being a singer. And for 8 yearold alexander matute, hey, he says the classes are calming. When you said are mad really just cant find anything to do . The rhythms of songs could help you out and stress and help you. Let leave all your stress show. Like music has a stress reliever for you . And this, but were going to continue the program this school because weve proven the point. And you see the impact on these kids and their excitement and their confidence is just absolutely amazing. And you know where music can actually take them their future is what were really interested seeing. Sony has called the bay area home for nearly 30 years. Hes always had a passion for music and the arts. And it was only after 8 years in the San Francisco symphony chorus. A major report released from the pentagon on the eu. Ap u f o. Phenomenon going back all the way to the 1940s. They say that theyve reviewed nearly every incident. Theyve are a few programs that have been classified dealing with you. A piece, their findings. The big takeaway is they say that they have no concrete evidence that the government has ever had in its possession aircraft that have come from extraterrestrials. They also say they dont have any programs. The government was running to try and reverse engineer extraterrestrial craft. Now, theyve also made clear in the report themselves. They dont think that people whove come forward with those claims people with very high level some air force intelligence officers, other military officers. They say they dont think those people were necessarily lying, but that the information they had may have taken out of context. They may have been misinformed or facts that have been misconstrued been given to that. Theres certainly a lot of pushback to the findings in this report. I do want to just elaborate on something that was in the report. Arrow recognizes many people sincerely hold versions of these beliefs which are based on their perception of past experiences. The experiences of others whom they trust or media and online outlets. They believe to be sources of credible and verifiable information. Now, a few points in this report that i thought were interesting. One is the pentagon did actually can see that there are certain phenomenon, certain things that they have they have seen in our airspace that have not been able to be explain. The pentagon called these anomalous and right now they dont know how those things are operating, but they say those are just a small sliver of sightings and the reports that they have gotten another big part of this report that isnt getting as much attention is the pentagon actually does admit that there were programs they set up with the intention to recover and reverse engineer you a piece. It is right there in black and white. But arrow says those programs were eventually done away with because they didnt actually finding you a piece to reverse engineer. But she wasnt notified. This just seems to be a reoccurring move because the guys that it was a 6 car that theyve taken since hes worked there at the parking garage. Community members started collecting signatures for the recall petition last month saying theyre fed up with crime and the lack of a Permanent Police chief in the city. Question is, where has she to try to make things better what issue shes not done the first thing she does is the going to go out. Mayor thao has told kron 4 the recall campaign is organized by her political opponents who previously ran against her. The recall group says theyve collected more than 123,000 signatures. 73,500 need to be verified to hold a recall election. And this morning, a School Resource officer in fairfield is under arrest, accused of sending inappropriate text to underage students. Fours. All right, stephanie, that resource officer at Rodriguez High School was arrested on saturday and booked into the Solano County jail. So heres what we know so far. The fairfield Police Department say that officer james lewis was arrested saturday accused of exchanging Inappropriate Text Messages and photos to 2 underage female students. According to police, the parents of those 2 students contacted the Police Department about this matter on friday. Soon after independent investigation was conducted by the County District attorneys office, lewis has been charged with sending or exhibiting a harmful or obscene material to a minor and contacting or communicating with a minor with the intent to commit a crime. He has been placed on administrative leave as the das office continues to investigate this. Now in a statement from fairfield, police say, say that we are quote, simultaneously disappointed, infuriated and saddened by this information. Acts like these violate that trust are wholly inexcusable infill to exemplify what the fairfield Police Department stands for now, the Police Department also saying that they will continue to be transparent in this process. You may have seen the video of flames bursting out of a plane engine and this was a flight monday from houston to fort myers. The plane making an Emergency Landing because of this investigation found that bubble wrap got into the engine. It. And then on thursday, this united flight departing from sfo lost one of its wheels as it was taking off for japan. Tire crashed through a fence and crushed parked cars. On friday. A flight from San Francisco to mexico city was diverted to la after an issue with the planes hydraulic system. This flight marks tonight its 4th issue in a week and yesterday, a flight landing at houstons airport rolled off the runway into the grass as it exited the runway for the gate. Passengers had to be taken off the plane and bus to the terminal. This incident is also under investigation by federal officials. The department of justice launching a criminal investigation into boeing this morning after a door blew out midair on Alaska Airlines flight heading from oregon to southern california. The pentagon released its first 2 reports on classified research on u f os. Joe khaleel breaks it down for us. A major report released from the pentagon on the eu. Ap u f o. Phenomenon going back all the way to the 1940s. They say that theyve reviewed nearly every incident. Theyve are a few programs that have been classified dealing with you. A piece, their findings. The big takeaway is they say that they have no concrete evidence that the government has ever had in its possession aircraft that have come from extraterrestrials. They also say they dont have any evidence of programs. The government was running to try and reverse engineer extraterrestrial craft. Now, theyve also made clear in the report themselves. They dont think that people whove come forward with those claims, people with very high level some air force intelligence officers, other military officers. They say they dont think those people were necessarily lying, but that the information they had may have taken out of context. They may have been misinformed or facts that have been misconstrued been given to that. Theres certainly a lot of pushback to the findings in this report. I do want to just elaborate on something that was in the report. Arrow recognizes many people sincerely hold versions of these beliefs which are based on their perception of past experiences. The experiences of others whom they trust or media and online outlets. They believe to be sources of credible and verifiable information. Now, a few points in this report that i thought were interesting. One is the pentagon did actually can see that there are certain phenomenon, certain things that they have they have seen in our airspace that have not been able to be explain. The pentagon called these anomalous and right now they dont know how those things are operating, but they say those are just a small sliver of sightings and the reports that they have gotten another big part of this report that isnt getting as much attention is the pentagon actually does admit that there were programs they set up with the intention to recover and reverse engineer you a piece. It is right there in black and white. But arrow says those programs were eventually done away with because they didnt actually finding you a piece to reverse engineer. They started collecting signatures for recall petition last month saying theyre fed up with crime and the lack of a Permanent Police chief in the city. Has she to try to make things better what issue shes not done the first thing she does is the going to mayor thao has told kron 4 the recall campaign is organized by her political opponents who previously ran against her. The recall group says theyve collected more than 123,000 signatures. 73,500 signatures need to be verified to hold that recall election. This morning, a School Resource officer in fairfield is under arrest, accused of sending inappropriate texts to underage students. Hope was. Tiffany justice is live for us now in fairfield this morning with the latest details on this. Tiffany. Right, stephanie, that resource officer at Rodriguez High School was arrested on saturday and booked into the Solano County jail. So heres what we know about this so far. The Fairfield Police station say that officer james lewis was arrested saturday accused of exchanging Inappropriate Text Messages and photos to 2 underage female students. Now, according to police, the parents of those 2 students contacted the Police Department about this matter on friday. And soon after that, an independent investigation was conducted by the County District. Attorneys office know lee was has been charged with sending or exhibiting harmful or obscene material to a minor and contacting or communicating with a minor with the intent to commit a crime. And rhythmic style of music. And such a unique really showcase in the bay area and around the world. Are tell us a bit about how your journey got started. Its very personal. It is. As i mentioned, being from a family of musicians, both my father and mother were active and very established. And so we didnt have a babysitter. So when the reform says shows her schools, i was tagging along as a toddler and of course, children. A sponge soaked up and and walking in those footsteps today. Yeah. And tell us a bit about the best advice that your parents gave to when it came to when it comes to being a musician. You know what . Its a bit of my father. And both mother always says school so any time we had artistic engagement, homework that needed to be done, that was the first thing that we we did right because i wanted to perform it motivated me to finish my schooling for so that i could station beautiful and tell us a bit about what your dryer inspiration from 2. I draw my inspiration for many things. Our is very spiritual. And so theres a strong hitting component. There is a Strong Community building component, right . And so wherever im at in the world with my home, im able to communicate and bring folks together just continuing. So i think that those 3 areas where i get my inspiration from and tell us a bit about how growing up in the bay area to influence you. It was it was great. The bay area is a very vibrant place. A super, duper, dynamic and diverse. And so it has always been really great melting pot and a great place to share art and and bill community. A turbulent week for United Airlines with multiple close calls involving its planes nationwide. You may have seen the video of flames bursting out of a plane engine. This was a flight monday from houston to fort myers. The plane made an Emergency Landing and investigation found the bubble wrap got into the engine. And then on thursday, this united flight departing from sfo lost one of its wheels as it was taking off for japan. The tire crashed through a fence and crushed parked cars. But on friday, a flight from San Francisco to mexico city was diverted to la after an issue with the plans. Hydraulic system. This flight marks united 4th issue in a week and yesterday a flight landing at houstons airport rolled off the runway into the grass as it exited the runway for the gate. Passengers had to be taken off the plane and bus to the terminal. This incident is also under investigation by federal officials. The department of justice is launching a criminal investigation into boeing now following a door blowing out midair on Alaska Airlines flight heading from oregon to southern california. The program has expanded and is now in schools across the peninsula, spanning from south San Francisco to san jose growing from 7,000 kids. A 26,000 students and 13 School Districts with the majority of their work focused on underrepresented communities. Knew that to have a greater impact we needed to do kind of districtwide because its really important to us that all kids have the opportunity. So we do core music, education elementary. We focus on elementary because thats where the biggest void programs or money as well. Then use as a great example of seeing this program in motion is at Jason Dahl Elementary School in san jose where for now the program is fully subsidized. And has been going on for the past 3 years. What do you think about doing going . Thinking about being a singer. And for 8 yearold alexander matute, hey, he says the classes are calming. When you said mad or really just cant find anything to do. They the rhythms of songs could help you out and stress and help you let full year casey, like music has a stress reliever for you . And then they lead you boots, waterproof pans, binoculars, all that stuff youll need while youre on board. Antarctica is stunning. The penguins are incredibly charismatic. These are gentoo penguins of the greater fiveyear ones. You kind of see in the mix. There they are the checks that havent made it to open ocean yet. But stepping on foot to this remote continent to meet all of this cuteness. It comes with rules and responsibilities. These penguins are really not scared of people. So its kind of up to us to ensure that the encounters are are respectful. Youre keep a minimum of 15 fit 15 feet distance guides set the past. No more than 100 people are allowed on shore at a time and there are a number of precautions in place, you know, to give you a good example, our boots were disinfected before and after every landing. And when i say disinfected, you stand against a wall and ship ship staff pretty much hold you down with a power washer so that theyre taking it very seriously. When you are on land, the only thing allowed to touch the ground is your feet. No kneeling, know sitting down, opening down a camera bag that that type of thing. So it there are rules in place to protect to protect everyone. Now the penguins tend to get the bulk of that attention. But there is a variety of wildlife to look forward to februarymarch people. Well watching season and antarctica, feasting on krill before they prepare to go a warmer waters. They put on what i think is the biggest show in the area. You will also if you keep your eyes peeled, find work as they are harder spot. But there they go to keep looking. Viking has a smaller fleet of boats that allow travelers to get on and off the cruise ship to see more wildlife to see more landscape. But the ship also carries kayaks. I strongly recommend this. You get a view that you any other way like a chance meeting with for steals. These guys are close related to the sea lions that we know here. So their antics are just entertaining as you paddle along there are time of cruise lines going to antarctica. Now the ship i was on biking players. There are a relative newcomer only only a couple years into it, but theyre differentiating themselves by leaning into science and education on board. Theres working lab. Theres a team of scientists and theyre theyre completing tasks, tripoli, that travelers are in a custom to seeing on a cruise ship. Theyre collecting data on fish populations. The researching microplastics in water samples that theyre taking while theyre sailing and even in antarctica, there are weather balloons. David, appreciate this. Their launch from the ship and not only can guess go out on board to watch. But minutes after the data is released, they can watch as the readings come down. Theyre learning about temperature pressure, humidity. You know how these blues come into factor in Weather Forecast all around the world when were watching, actually, we could see in real time a weather balloon had been launched in the bay area and someone was was tracking that one. So this is just kind of a a taste. You even get rainbows on days in antarctica. So its one of those spots. People have no idea what to expect. But what to think of. But they think about it. So, yeah, its becoming more of an option that people are going there more frequently. But i think theres a responsibility that comes along absolutely. And i love what youre describing the whole experience being very about putting the emphasis on the respect towards the local wildlife at south there that selecting and helps bring everybody down. Lee. Absolutely. And you know, it is one of those things. I mean, we try and behave replaces. Hopefully everybody does that. But i was taking a picture and the penguin was curious and it started okay. Im im going now. Im right back up now. So its just one of those things. Im i mean, its a bucket list trip for for many, many people. We just need to make sure we respected and take care of it. Absolutely. And how was and do have to be, you know, a great shape be able to participate. Thats a good. Thats a good question. I mean, certainly being inc, good shape is the better shape youre in, the you can. The more you can do the more you can enjoy it. That said that the staff are incredibly helpful. When you go on l in antarctica, there arent docks are in the boats. Cant so youre going youre going to kind of scoot off that boat and youre going to go into water. They are all wet landings and then youre going to walk that short distance inso good fitness is a good thing, but there are a lot of people to help you. And if theres something that looks a little too intimidating, you can just stay on the ship. Youre still going to that beautiful scenery.
