Andrea rentals is located in the city and helps match renters with tenants owner andrea day says rent prices usually go up in may, but thats not whats happening in the east bay. Theres more concessions. People are you know, theyre just whos here and it feels like they have more time and space and opportunity to choices. And so it it just feels different while rent prices for apartments and more affordable bases, locations still matters. Seeing more of a decline in monthly rent in downtown oakland compared to other areas. There are places where previously the rams were sort of you know, really pushing the tippy top of the market that have really fallen. But then there are other areas kind by oakland or mills where youre actually seeing an increase in rents. There are also more incentives being offered to tenants in oakland. A man has been arrested after police say he smashed a shop window. Right where a child was sitting. The whole thing caught on surveillance video. Take a look at happened last month at an ice cream shop on a born square in san jose. You see the child and their euardian walk into the store and then suspect identified as 36 yearold pay ram of sorry, smashed the window while the child was sitting inside next to the window. Some of the glass even hit the child. Thats when the garden grabbed the child and thgy both left the shop suspect is now facing charges, including assault with a Deadly Weapon and child abuse. The money will be used to more efficiently, serve patients and increase capacity. Planned parenthood. The California Senate has approved a landmark bill to protect youth from social media addiction under senate bill. 9. 76. The bill would also prohibit a social media platform from sending notifications to minors during overnight hours. And during the school day, if enacted the protecting our kids from social media addiction act would be the first such law in the country. Hundreds of People Living with disabilities and caretakers descended on the state capital today to protest proposed cuts in Governor Newsoms revised budget plan. The governor has proposed delaying pay increases by at least a year for about 150,000 disability care workers along with cuts to medicaid reimbursements. The proposed cuts to disability care funding surpasses a billion dollars. Those protesting in the capitol today argue the cuts would negatively affect care takers and could put the disabled and their families at risk. We are struggling as providers as a community to find qualified staff. This is a shame. Youre seeing the south bay also with issues with some of the air quality there, but just moderate amount includes building up tomorrow. I think it should begin to improve. Were going to see a stronger sea breeze kicking in and overall air quality improved. I think as we head in toward the next few days, still the south bay, maybe a little bit hazy there in the afternoon as well. All right, over, although weve had that nice northerly wind, that offshore flow that has kept our skies mostly clear, even along the coastline, starting to break down a bit. Weve got a weak front thats going to roll over the top of that. The system you see right here dropping on the backside of well, thats going weaken that rich. I think a return of some more fog and low clouds still staying warm in many spots away from the coastline inside the bay. Many valleys are still looking at those temperatures on the warm side. And more importantly, everyone who works for the organization is working for one of the candidates and there was some real concerns there that, you know, if youre agreeing as the mayor to participate in something, people need to be clear and transparent and that process.
