They are going to be at the strongest between Late Wednesday and early thursday. The fire weather watch in mourning going into place at that point. The offshore flow is bringing us clear skies today. Again it is expected to be breezy and it includes all of the health, northbay, east bay, Santa Cruz Mountains. We will track about the next few days of course, and outside our doors it is a nice start. San francisco checking in at 60 degrees. Mid50s in santa rosa, 64 in oakland. 66, livermore and 60 torrey, san jose. A lot of sunshine and temperatures are warmer than where we were 24 hours ago. We will start out with santa rosa a little bit cooler. Look at livermore, up by 12 degrees over yesterday. Up by five over in san jose and six in hayward. The winds are light and variable. They are watching weather models closely and no there will be strong winds that will last into thursday afternoon. At this point they are asking people to get prepared in case they do make that call. People already here in napa and in Sonoma County are preparing. Yesterday we had restaurants and Grocery Stores the say they plan to use generators to stay on if in fact they do shut off the power. But this is not something they are looking forward to. Workers are also seeing loss of wages, all around a Big Inconvenience for everyone. I dont want the wind to knock over the power line and burn down the state. But at the same time i dont understand why a company can also afford to provide safety as well as power. Reporter if there is a power safety shut off, Sonoma County could have the most impact, 20,000 customers could be without lights in napa county, 7500 customcould lose power. And less than 1000 in san mateo county. Pg e does plan to provide updates later today. We have been waiting on one for this morning. We still havent received that updated information yet but we will keep reaching out to them and try to get you the latest numbers and updated information. The bottom line is that it looks like a very big possibility it could happen again if the weather conditions are right and there is a concern for the potential of a wildfire. Be prepared and get ready to go. We will post it when a final decision is made. A rally is taking place right now outside of pg e headquarters in San Francisco. Against the plan bailout of the utility. The rally was organized by a coalition of Community Groups who oppose the massive bailout bill. It shields them from future wildfire liability and creates a 21 billion Wildfire Insurance Fund which will be accessible two utilities to pay out damages to victims of fires. I am outraged at this will be voting this thursday out in reading on a bill on pretty much an issue that affects everybody throughout california. We will be paying into this bailout fund, not just to bailout the fires that happened last year and the year before but all fires, including potential fires in the future. He wants to know why gas prices are not dropping in california and he is calling on attorney general to investigate. By tomorrow morning pg e is expected to tell us any customers will lose power during the power shut off. People affected by the last power shut off say they are ereanother one this week. Stau renting generators to keep food from spoiling. Theyre also selling off as much as they can. Pg e says if there is another power shut off they hope to restore power within 2448 hours of the end of that high risk period. Reporter pg e is also creating a special power shut off website. It will work even if the power goes out. After the old website crashed or was really slow during the last shut off. Pg e says the new website should be able to handle the huge number of people who probably will turn to pg e alert. Thats a brief look at some of the top stories. We are working on those. Today the city council will finalize the request for smart trains to slow down throh a dangerous intersection. The council vote on the final wording of the request. Trains have killed five people in the last year. Previous draft account says we recognize that slowing the speed will affect schedules but believe a few second change in the schedule is worthy of consideration. People in palo alto will have it easier time finding Street Parking but they will have to pay for it. The city council added a residential parking permit program. People living in the area complained for years that available spots on the street were taking over by caltrain passengers who parked the car in the morning and board the train. Under the permit program nonresidents can only park for up to two hours near the dacian. Residents can pay a 50 annual permit fee for unlimited access. Property owners may be hit with a big increase for maintaining storm drains. A proposed ballot measure could push the annual fee from 56 a year to 134 a year. The money will maintain the pipes that handle runoff from rain. Fees have not increased about 15 years leaving the city with a 1 million deficit. Another 30 million is needed to upgrade the aging system. Ballots are being mailed to Property Owners and must be returned by november 25. Ridgeway high along with santa rosa high and Santa Rosa Junior College are in a state of lockdown right now. This is the map, the schools are close to each other. We talked to an administrator at the Junior College and everyone is okay. There are different reports and say the victim was shot in the stomach and is it the hospital. More updates throughout morning through the da talks are set to continue between Stanford University and the board of supervisors about the schools plan to expand over the next 50 years. They are working to reach a deal to increase housing on sanfords campus. They say they want to build more than 3 million square feet of new classrooms which would add nearly 10,000 people to its campus. In exchange the university is offering money to the county for housing development, transportation improvements and the palo alto School District. The board of supervisors in santa clara is reviewing Affordable Housing projects. Combined the two developments would provide 196 new homes. 87 units would be set aside for people who are homeless.
