New this morning, firefighters are investigating an Early Morning house fire starting shortly after 3 00 this morning at a home on hillside road. Now, crews managed to control the flames in just about 10 minutes. No one living in the home was hurt but firefighters say two baby chicks in the garage died in that fire. That fell into the box. Created the fire. The red cross has arrived on the scene to try to help the family. There are now more than 3200 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States and more than 400 deaths. Of those cases nationwide, 178 people have recovered in california. There are more than 1600 cases and 30 deaths here in the bay area, there are 786 reported cases and the death toll has gone up to 13. The senate is expected to vote again on an economic rescue package after failing to pass nomination over the weekend. They said the draft package sets aside too much money for corporations and does not do enough to help workers and hospitals. Legislation has many problems. At the top of the list, it includes a large corporate bail out. Now, the stimulus package is intended to boost the economy which has been devastated by the coronavirus outbreak. The nearly 2 trilliondollar rescue package is aimed at helping industry, Small Businesses and families including 12 million in direct payment to millions of americans. Time is 5 03. Every bay area county has a case of coronavirus. The Napa Department of Health Confirmed its first two cases and santa clara announced two more deaths bringing the number to 10 in that county. More than any other bay area county. Now theres a total of 302 cases in santa a clara. Theyre preparing for a surge of coronavirus patients as testing becomes more available. Already theres a plan to turn the Santa Clara Convention center into a medical facility. The patient is treated for other conditions including car crashes and heart attacks. County Health Officials are banking people for helping out in the covid19 crisis. Theyre grateful for people contacting their Doctors First before they go to emergency room and county hospitals. County wide, we seen a much lower volume. One of the confirmed cases is that lady right there. She became ill more than a week ago. So far, shes the only county executive whose tested positive for the virus. The city of hayward will begin offering free testing for anyone showing symptoms and you dont have to live there to take these on the spot test. Now, they will be conducted at fire station 7 in hayward. Firefighters and paramedics will prescreen people as they arrive and the test will move to the next phase. Will be screened by a First Responder and determine whether or not a test the warranted. At that point youll receive the test which is nose and cheek swab and then youll be asked to go home and stay in isolation in your home until the test results come back. Those test results should come back in less than 12 hours. The center will be open daily from 9 00 a. M. To 6 00 p. M. A San Francisco sheriffs deputy tested positive for coronavirus. They said the deputy tested positive at a Health Facility wednesday. He was assigned to a jail on bryant street. Officials say theres no known cases among the inmates and the Sheriffs Office is operating under a covid19 response and action plan and will carry out options to make sure staff and inmates are protected. Theres now more than 349 cases of confirmed coronavirus around the world and more than 15,000 have died from it. However, more than 100,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus. China has the most coronavirus cases. More than 81,000. Italy has more than 59,000 cases. However, italy has the highest for the virus. Almost 5500 people have been reported dead. Italy is getting help. Those from cue book arrive in italy. Russia is also helping out sending nine cargo planes packed taking off from moscow packed with Health Care Workers, medical equipment and disinfecting drugs sending them to italy. Today hundreds of passengers from the grand princess cruise ship were isolated at Travis Air Force base and they will be released. Another 191 are still waiting for the test results but are being released because they have finished the mandatory quarantine period. Who does this apply to . It is free child care for the citys essential workers which include people who work for the city and county public Health Department and health clinic. They had this free Child Care Service available but now theyre expanding the hours. They say theyre more in line with the 12 hour shifts that the Health Care Workers usually have to work. Starting this morning. Child care will be available at all 35 recreation and Park Department sites from 6 30 this morning to 7 30 in the evening monday through friday. The citys recreation and Park Department is spear heading this and providing the child care. Important Health Care Workers who normally have the shift. March 19th they ordered stay at home for essential businesses to try to slow down the covid 19. The entire state followed suit. Its by invitation only. The city and Public Health staff and employees that have been activated as Disaster Service workers in San Francisco. Theres about 35 different sites throughout the city. A man recovering from the virus is sharing his story so others take it seriously. He said his simple toms started a manifest march 4th. The man said he went to the er and then a few days later his own doctor and back to the er. When his flu test came back negative he was finally tested for the coronavirus. Thats when he noticed major changes in the hospital staff treating him. My wife could no longer come to the emergency room with me. Everybody had mask, goggles, clear faced macing. Disposable smocks, little booties on their feet and my room was separated and only one person came in at a time.
