One of those resolutions will publicly affirm black lives matter and support the movement. Another resolution would declare racism a Public Health crisis in Santa Clara County and a third resolution would support the state constitution to repeal prop 209 and reintroduce affirmative action at, for new public introduced institutions and colleges. A vote of the expected come out to the board is going to be discussing other things first. The board of supervisors could take steps to require the Sheriffs Office to review its use of force policies and to start doing things like banning the use of tow colds, restrict when deputies can shoot at a moving vehicle and requiring officers to intervene when another officer is using excessive force. At a News Conference yesterday, they announced the Racial Justice resolutions. Community groups thanked Board Members for their support on that matter. But they were adamant that supervisors make a commitment to cut and reinvest part of the budget of the office.
