San Francisco Unified School District like most bare School Districts, is starting the year with all remote learning. But teachers and the district had to negotiate how that Distance Learning would work in the schedule for teachers to give their lessons either live online or prerecorded lessons but they will have a combination of both. The details on these new distancelearning schedules for teachers have not been released but we know that the state is requiring at least one in 20 minutes of daily interaction and instructions among schoolteachers and Public School students. According to the some cisco chronological, under this agreement for San Francisco unified, educators will have some say of how that 120 minutes of live instruction is done. The chronicle also reports that the agreement includes things like a 400 typing for teachers to purchase equipment from working at home. It is shameful that our district is not supporting our educators. These are the people we entrust our kids too and they are not being shown any professional respect or human consideration for their health and safety. Today San FranciscoPublic Schools teachers will start voting on a proposed deal for Distance Learning coming up this fall. What instruction will look like and when it all kicks off in 10 short days. Reporter we know when it will start. August 17 is the first day of all Online School for San Francisco usd students. We dont know a lot of details about what this agreement includes but we do note that teachers, the Teachers Union and the district agreed on something yesterday after marathon bargaining session of 16 hours. This gradual of what teachers and how they will give their lessons live online versus pre record lessons. Teachers will have some say over that. We know that the state is requiring 120 minutes of daily interaction and instruction from all Public School teachers and kids. According to the San Francisco article, educators will have some jurisdiction how that live instruction simply the chronicle is also reporting that this agreement to train the Teachers Union and the district includes things like a 400 stipend for educators to purchase equipment so that they can work from home and do things like lose their internet speeds and to teach from their homes theres a plan for teachers who must return to empty classrooms to teach, to do so safely. The union said they will have a townhall meeting for members later today to discuss the details of this agreement and the hope is that this agreement will be ratified by monday and then the school year will start one week from then on august 17. To the south by now where teachers in san jose say they want to be given the choice about whether they teach online, in a classroom or from their own homes teachers and parents protested before the san jose Unified School DistrictBoard Meeting last night but the district is requiring teachers to teach lessons online from their empty classrooms. It is shameful that our district is not supporting our educators. These are the people we entrust our kids to and theyre not being shown any professional respect for human consideration for their health and safety. Classes are set to start in san jose next wednesday. A School Board Vote on whether to hire Campus Police officers has been delayed in antioch as protesters shut down that meeting. Dozens of demonstrators protested outside of the antioch School District headquarters on wednesday evening.
