The goal is to move all of those in hotels into permanent housing, out in another temporary option. To be clear up front, and i want to say this again, we have never said it is our intention or goal to move vulnerable individuals to congregate shelters. That is not part of this rehousing plan. But we understand that this message has become muddied and many are confused. Reporter the shelterin place prom was always designed to be a stop gap measure, costs an estimated 8,000 per person per month. They have to move people out of the hotels, because federal and state funds will likely not comp extending the program. So far only 49 residents have been rehoused since the program started in april. Homeless coordinating Board Members say they are concerned there wont be enough permanent housing fast enough. So theyve got 2,359 people in hotels. Theyre saying right now that only 382 are going to qualify for housing. So we dont know what is going to happen to the rest of them, and they really theyre railroad tragedial and need to go into permanent housing. Reporter two supervisorssed the pressure that aim to protect cultural communities like japan town and chinatown by extending the moratorium on commercial tenant evictions. It will also create terms for a rent repayment plan that will extend for up to two years. The advocacy that was spoken of from japantown leaders and chinatown leaders, has led to where we are today, and will save hundreds if not thousands of Small Businesses around San Francisco from spring closure. The ordinance is especially critic until japan town, where only two landlords oversee the properties of the Japan Center Mall which anchors the town. The measure will appreciate businesses that employ between 10 to 100 workers. The chevron refinery in richmond activated a warning after a flaring incident this afternoon. You can see flames coming out of three stacks at the refinery this afternoon. Chevron said it was due to a power disruption at a Processing Plant there.
