Electoral votes, President Trump has 214. 270 votes are needed. If any of the states that are still undecided go to biden he will have enough electoral votes to win the white house. President trump needs to hold onto pennsylvania, georgia and North Carolina and then take either arizona or nevada to take a second term. The closest race tonight is in georgia which is now a virtual type. That had not gone for democrat since 1982. Today several counties are again counting ballots into tonight. And in pennsylvania joe biden has steadily been gaining on the president but President Trump is Still Holding a small lead in a state he must win to keep the white house. Arizona has been called for joe biden although his lead is narrowing a bit as more votes are counted. Theres also a very close race in nevada, they will likely be counting ballots into the weekend. Biden has been building a small lead there, right now he has about a 12,000 point advantage. The tight race and unprecedented number of mailin ballots prompted by the pandemic of the nation scrutinizing the count. Jana katsuyama here now with where several legal challenges stand tonight. Reporter the Trump Campaign laws to legal challenges today but the president this afternoon said more litigation is likely on the way. Election workers counting into the night open ballot after ballot edging closer to a full count of americans votes. The process is working. The count is being completed. And we will know very soon very democracy is sometimes messy. It sometimes requires a little patience as well. Election Officials Say ballots counted now were received by election day but President Trump spoke from the white house ratcheting up the rhetoric. We think we will win the election very easily. President trump did not explain why he wants to stop ballot counting in states where he leads but has called on supporters for faster counting in states where he trails such as arizona. Trump supporters, some with firearms, gathered outside the county Election Office in phoenix. In georgia they said they are carefully counting. We are trying to get all the legal votes counted accurately. And in nevada the Trump Campaign filed a federal lawsuit claiming that as many as 10,000 people who no longer live in the state cast ballots. It is unacceptable in this country to have illegal votes counted. Many people call these types of lawsuits a hail mary, another opportunity to undermine the confidence in this election. There was no basis for stopping the county. While the counting continues there are three legal paths that the Trump Campaign is pursuing. Hes asking for a recount in wisconsin, he said if he sees that joe biden wins georgia, he will ask her recount they are. There is also the pennsylvania lawsuit challenging whether ballots can be accepted after election day. Two lawsuits in michigan and georgia were resolved or dismissed. At this point none of these other lawsuits seem to be anything that will get to the Supreme Court or get very far. The Trump Campaign tells fox news that it plans to give the nevada Law Enforcement a list of names of people they claim voted illegally. Tomorrow is the last day for pennsylvania to receive mailin ballots and november 10 is the deadline for nevada. In both cases the mailin ballots will need to be postmarked on election day. Across the country groups of protesters are taking to the streets as the election hangs in the balance. In las vegas i group of Trump Supporters waved flags and chanted out that the Clark County Election Center nevada is one of the states that could bring joe biden to victory when all the votes are counted. In arizona authorities sent fencing around the Processing Center today. Some have said that the state has been cold for joe biden. They called it because its a lot easier for them to come out and say oh, biden flipped the red city. Okay, well at this stage its been proven that he hasnt won arizona, so why cant they just go retract it and say we will let them count their ballots. Governors in at least half a dozen states have activated the National Guard as a precaution. Facebook meantime has shut down stop the steal group over what he calls maureen calls for violence. The group had 3 to 50,000 members and nearly 7000 post in just two days. Facebook says the page was filled with false claims for voter fraud and the call for boots on the ground to protect the integrity of the vote. Of former Code Enforcement officer in san jose is facing criminal charges tonight for allegedly distorting and sexually assaulting half a dozen business owners. Ann rubin tells us that until recently those victims were too afraid to come forward. He was a Code Enforcement inspector but authorities in san jose believe that William Jerry was not using his position to enforce the laws but rather to break them. We received multiple complaints from victims alleging that the suspect had sexually assaulted them, had extorted their businesses, had asked for and received bribes. At least six victims have come forward, most from vietnamese or chinese dissent, they alleged that jerry was abusing his position of power. Because he was issuing permits or reviewing properties to determine compliance he used that and held it over the victims had, extorting them either for sex, money or both. The crimes allegedly occurred between august 2018 and april 2019. By the time of his arrest he left his job and moved to mckinney texas. Authorities executed a search warrant there and he returned to his san jose on his own to surrender. He targeted some of the most Vulnerable People in our community. California leaders are considering making voting by mail a permanent option for all registered voters. This year the state required county Election Officials to mail a ballot to all registered voters ahead of the election. That cost the state an extra 65 million. The goal was to have fewer people at the polls because of covid19. Nearly 60 of registered voters cast ballots before election day or it could become a permanent plan in the future if the state can figure out how to pay for it. More than a week ago they dropped back staff and made a few more hires as restrictions eased. But now Indoor Dining is cut back again. Is not so much that theres a problem with Public Health or public safety. Not at all. The problem is that you start to make certain plans that affect peoples lives and their livelihoods. Dozens of employees are counting on the money, stability and the hours. To see our business cut down is very difficult. Because, when you have a family owned business it is not just about money. The other had you where is as a public citizen. Like most restaurants, tables are spaced six feet apart. Still, Contra Costa County considers Indoor Dining high risk activity. They must reduce capacity from 50 to 25 . I know the effort by the county is to increase testing, but is closing restaurants Indoor Dining the most effective way to limit the spread . We need to loosen up cautiously and slowly hurried but when we see the numbers going up weekly we need to jump on it weekly. Movie theaters and religious services are also limited to 25 capacity. Contra costa case rates have climbed about 25 varied hospitalizations increased in the past two weeks nearly doubling from under 20 patients 240. We are seeing younger people in the hospital than we saw in the spring. He is willing to meet with county representatives, anything to avoid the backand forth strategy. San francisco supervisors have approved a measure that caps commissions that food delivery apps can charge restaurants. The cap is now 15 . Some have been charging as much as 30 during the pandemic. The cap will remain in place for 60 days after San Francisco restaurants start allowing regular Indoor Dining. Supervisors however, may discuss making the cap permanent.
