Yesterday. Well, today will be hotter. Oh, my. Yes this is everyones in on it. Coast will also be in the 80s to maybe even near 90. We start off with the city at 67 degrees. How about that . I mean thats thats pretty warm and highs today up we go 80s and 90s across the board here. So this isnt the hottest day then tomorrow will be. But today will be pretty toasty here for many. All right. Sal is here, i dont know, picking up cones. Yeah, theyre picking up cones in a lot of spots as you know, steve, 80 is one of the hot spots, although we dont have a lot of slowing because it is nice and early. We still can see some cones here and there on 80. And also on 580. As you approach the Richmond Bridge, again, not a big delay anywhere because as they do this overnight for a reason, that things are doing very well. West bound bay bridge traffic looks good into San Francisco 401. Lets get back to the headlines. All right, sal, thankouwell, the wnba is coming to town. Ktvu is amber lee has more on this huge move for the bay area and for female athletes. Its a phenomenal sport and these women are spectacular, fast paced womens professional basketball coming to the bay area sources tell me the wnba is expected to award an Expansion Team to the Golden State Warriors. In an announcement at chase center. There are so many talented Womens Basketball players that dont have a place in the league because there arent enough spots and there arent enough teams. Sharman smith, head coach of cals Womens Basketball team, played in the wnba and was also an assistant coach. Shell be at the big announcement and says that this edition is long overdue. So sources say the Expansion Team will be headquartered at the warriors old facility in oakland. But the team will play their home games at chase center. Im an east oakland native. I would have wished that i could go to a wnba game. The pe teacher at Oakland Tech High School tells me access and exposure are important for these female high school athletes. Its sometimes hard to be able to watch something and not know that that can one day be you. But when you look at something and look like youre looking in the mirror, it creates more of confidence and not something that our young ladies need. Inspires me to be like them, inspires me to get to where theyre at. And to be able to say i did it like they did. The now defunct san jose lazers in the mid 90s was owned by the warriors. Joe lacob, jennifer azzi, a former member of that team and now a part of the front office with the las vegas aces. A wnba team says lacobs involvement makes sense and is a huge step forward for the league. Certainly he has a passion for the sport. All the great work that hes done with the warriors. And i think its the right time. Im not surprised that the warriors have figured it out, and im proud of them for taking this next step. And we need it. The staffing crisis is very serious and i have to listen to them tell me they think theyre going to lose a foot. They think they have diabetes or they think theyre going to die before a patient, before theyre able to see a doctor. Its really sad. Now last night, kaiser officials released a statement that said contract negotiations continue and that agreements have been reached on several specific proposals. The strike is scheduled to continue until saturday morning at 6 a. M. But the unions have also said if a new deal is reached, they would come back to work early and late last night, the unions released this statement that Frontline Health care workers are awaiting a meaningful response from kaiser executives regarding some of our key priorities, including safe staffing, outsourcing protections for incumbent Health Care Workers and fair wages to reduce turnover, Health Care Workers within the coalition remain ready to meet at any time. And to do that, the white house is waiving 26 federal laws to allow that construction. This is the first time the president has taken that action to deal with the border crisis. 12 migrants bused from texas to san jose are now in temporary homes until more permanent accommodations are found. Our ktvu cameras caught a beautiful sunset over the oakland estuary. Take a look at that with the city of San Francisco in the distance, temperatures are climbing this week, though, prompting a heat advisory for parts of the bay area starting this morning. Certainly got warm yesterday afternoon. Lets check in with Steve Paulson for our forecast. Another couple of days of heat out. Yes. Okay anything else . Yes. When is it going to cool down . Sunny skies, elevated fire concerns, although theres really not a strong easterly breeze or northerly. Thank goodness for that. But mt. Veeder, berkeley lab are in the 70s already and Ben Lomond Mountain is close east, east, north. You know, under ten miles per hour, but still, thats a lovely base map, 50s on the temps or 60 is everyones pretty close. 50 for Half Moon Bay point. Ray stations 55, but 655 in oakland, San Francisco is not reporting officially. So i have to change that as i do everything in the morning. 50s on the temps to bolinas fire station 67 and sausalito 67. Wow tiburons almost 70 degrees. A little cooler as you go north, but 50s mostly on the temps, 36. Truckee 34. South lake tahoe 84. Palm springs. Wow. 72. Crescent city. Thats breaking news, right there. Everything has moved off. The high is built in. We are clear, clear. And that high will be with us today, tomorrow, before it starts to break down. And well see fog returning, i think, saturday evening and then for sure on sunday. But severe clear for the morning, cool to mild lows, wall to wall, sun hot for most as in even pacifica. San Francisco Oakland with 90 widespread all right. Thank you steve. Remembering the late senator Dianne Feinstein. He was swimming on sunday when witnesses say a shark attacked him. His body has not been found. Angie is originally from gambia in africa and he came to the us to study Computer Engineering. Were also learning more about the san jose Home Daycare Center, where two young girls drowned earlier this week. State inspectors have been to the happy, happy home daycare on fleetwood drive eight times in the past three years. The records show that business has been cited six times, including one citation. Last month for a failure to check on infants every 15 minutes when they sleep. There were also some concerns about the backyard pool, including windows that had access to the pool and problems with fencing. Regulators say the pool problems were fixed in 2021. The National DrowningPrevention Alliance says pools will always have risks. Theres not one single solution thats going to complete eliminate the risk. We talk about a multi stage intervention strategy. Now, San Jose Police and state regulators are still investigating the drownings of the children. They wont be comment on the case until their investigations are over. That may take months as millions of children could soon lose their places at Daycare Centers across the country. Thats because federal funding provided during the pandemic has expired. Now the money was used to keep the doors open at centers so parents could keep working. But without that extra money, an estimated 200,000 child care providers could go out of business without a daycare. Some of those parents might have to leave their jobs. There are so many people that they dont have a grandma or an aunt or a cousin or anybody that can, you know, be a consistent person to watch their child every day. Daycare workers say the centers provide more than a place for children to go. Many provide three meals a day, as well as education and emotional support. Well, barts downtown san jose expansion is facing another very expensive delay. Yeah, transit Officials Say they need another ten years and. 3 million. Ktvu south bay reporter Lamonica Peters has details. Vta general manager and ceo Carolyn Ganot says barts phase two expansion from berryessa to santa clara is scheduled for completion by 2036, ten years later than expected. And the entire project is a 16 mile extension from fremont to santa clara with six stations and a tunnel through downtown san jose. Although the project will cost an additional 2. 9 billion, ganot says that money has already been accounted for despite this increase, the new figure remains within our funding plan due to strong support by existing local supported tax measures and state and federal sources. Ganot says project adjustments, inflation and Rising Interest Rates are major factors in the delay. San jose mayor matt marin also weighed in on the delay, saying bart to Silicon Valley is happening and vta and its contractors will have to live within their means to get it done. We are not going back to the voters on this one. This area has enough money to pay for improve our lives, right . So now they should make a way to make it happen even with vtas announcement of a delay in added cost, some people we spoke to in santa clara are still looking ahead to the benefits of having a bart station nearby. I know a lot of students do get internships like in the bay area especially, and i know its like really expensive for transportation and just having a car on campus. So i think bart would be like beneficial for everyone when they need to spend it so we can get cars off the road and they know they think electric cars are going to do it all. But we dont have the highway and the infrastructure for vta also says that they have 2. 8 billion in contingent funds and they dont believe theyll have to ask the public to pitch in any more money. So we wont have to worry about any clouds in those pictures. I dont think so. At least maybe not until sunday. Yeah. Your forecast here does call for a warm to hot conditions on friday. Still lots of sun and in the warm category on saturday, it does look cooler to this forecast or at least on sunday. So next couple of days. Good to go there. 90 to 95 inland on the bay side, 85 to 90 and coast, 80 to 86. This will be a warm to hot day. Mount diablo, how warm are you up there . Almost 70 degrees. Thats warm for this time of year. South east at six. The good news is there is there is a slight east northeast breeze, but theres no wind speed behind it. 50 and 60s on the temps sfo going nutty down there, 68 degrees. My goodness. 50s on most 60s for others. But look at kensington, 70 now, see what happens here is you get a little easterly breeze coming in off of then right off the Berkeley Hills right into el cerrito. So thats why theyre so much warmer than anyone else. Its definitely wind driven. 36, truckee 34, South Lake Tahoe, lots of vegas is 65. Palm springs says 84. Well, ill have to look into that. Clear skies. Theres no fog on the coast. That high is no doubt about it. Largely to fill in, fill in. Weve had a lot of data, bad data the last couple of days here, 82, 96 on the temps. Employee keys will still be making the burritos, tacos and quesadillas, but underneath the line, a robot will create salads and burrito bowls. Now the change would be only for the online orders. The pictures say it all in San Francisco. It was an emotional evening. The city paying respects to the late senator Dianne Feinstein. Nine thousands of people slowly walked through San Francisco city hall to honor the trailblazing political leader. And San Francisco native. Yeah, it was many emotional scenes. We can see from there and memories in a change of plans, though, todays Funeral Service will be closed to the public for security reasons. But as ktvu Jana Katsuyama shows us, senator feinsteins family kept that visitation open for an extra hour. So that everyone who had waited in line could say their final goodbyes for one final time. Dianne feinstein, californias late senator San Franciscos former mayor and supervisor, left San Francisco city hall where she started her career. More than 50 years ago. An honor guard escorted her past family and friends wednesday evening. Beautiful music sung from the heart, filled the rotunda to where senator feinstein lay in state all day. The San Francisco gay mens chorus serenades her as her daughter, grand daughter and other family and friends stood near her flag draped casket. San franciscos mayor london breed and speaker emerita nancy pelosi were also there by the familys side. Its been a very emotional day for her family. Weve seen people walk up and they were in tears. You could tell there was a lot of emotion here today. She did things on her own terms, but she always did them with gentleness, a line of people all day paying their respects, moved past the casket on the second floor, flowers surrounded the statue that captured the smiling face of a younger Dianne Feinstein, who had walked the halls as a member of the board of supervisors from 1970 to 1978. And then as mayor from 1978 to 1988, outside city hall. The line of people who came from around the bay area wrapped down the street and around the block. Shes just done so much that this is a rare opportunity to get to pay respects to somebody whos been so impactful. She was a great leader, a tremendous respect for her. She was also a fighter. She fought for human rights and i respect that. Dignitaries including dr. Anthony fauci, arrived to honor her in the south light court. People waited to write messages , thousands of pages that will be put into a book for the family. I think if she were here and to see this is it would it would make it would warm her heart outside city hall, preparations already in place for the Memorial Service on thursday in San Francisco, Jana Katsuyama ktvu. Fox two news. Thank you, jana, for showing us some of those amazing moments. The late senator was also honored during a celebration in downtown San Francisco. Joe johns grill marked 115 years in business by providing a free lunch for their regular customers and the community. The restaurant, which has been known as a favorite Gathering Place for many elected officials, made sure to save a seat for senator feinstein. Of course, former mayor willie brown was there, says the late senator was one of the regulars at johns grill. Dianne would be here today, about to have lunch and about to tell some story of her experiences. Senator feinstein was a regular at johns grill for decades. She has her photo up on the wall. We have a tribute for her today. That tribute was the restaurant placing flowers on a table by the photo of the late senator notaries and elected officials who came to wish johns grill a happy anniversary. She also reflected on the impact senator feinstein had on San Francisco. A huge reason why i even decided to run for office stemmed on a conversation that she had with my third grade class. She said to my class, she said, im the only woman thats running and perhaps the next woman that wants to run for office is in this class. Those who dropped by say the place felt empty or knowing feinstein would not drop by. But they emphasized she has left a legacy that will live on. The house of representatives is right now at a standstill until a new House Speaker is elected to replace kevin mccarthy. Now, political experts say it probably wont happen anytime soon. Next week, republicans reportedly will hold a forum for the candidates for speaker. Each person will need weeks to talk, to persuade and work out deals with other house members to reach the 218 votes needed to become the new speaker. Are you ready to say youre officially running for speaker . We havent sent anything out formally, but that we will. Now here is a list of possible candidates for House Speaker, the current majority leader, Steve Scalise of louisiana, is considered the favorite. Ohio congressman jim jordan is a favorite among the conservative hardliners. Oklahoma congressman kevin hern started his career by running several mcdonalds restaurants. Hes a wealthy conservative, but not as well known as the others. North carolinas Patrick Mchenry is the current house pro tem. And Kevin Mccarthys close friend from oklahoma, tom cole, is also in the running. And then theres the wild card. Former president donald trump. My people have been calling me about speaker. All i can say is well do whatever is best for the country and for the republican party. Would you take the job now . The speaker of the house does not have to be a member of the house, but republicans would still have to change the rules that right now ban anyone from leadership who is under a felony indictment. California workers will get at least five paid sick days per year under a bill signed into law by Governor Newsom. Now, this is an increase from the current minimum of three paid sick days a year. It refers to when baby spiders float away on tiny strands of silk to find food or a new place to live. The spiders can glide on the floating web anywhere from a few feet to hundreds of miles in northern california, you are most likely to see ballooning in the spring or fall seasons when the spiders hatch. This National Warning system was designed to allow the federal government to immediately address the American People at a time of war or natural disaster. The technology has never been used. Cd the goal is to get the message to every phone and mobile device in the whole country. I was just surprised. I didnt know what it was and why it was going off, and that was it, really. Now, we conducted an unscientific test. We placed three phones next to each other. The phones all sounded with the emergency bulletin within seven seconds of each other. People living on maui are calling on hawaiis governor to delay plans to reopen the western part of the island to tourism. Governor josh green has said that the area affected by the Deadly Wildfires in august will reopen to tourists on sunday. Dozens gathered at the State Capitol in honolulu tuesday to try to deliver a petition to the governor. Community organizers brought the box to the governors door, but his staff said he was not there to accept the petition. Representatives from west maui and the lahaina strong activist group were there and said it is too soon for tourism. Majority of the people, if they want to go back to work, its because they have that fear and uncertainty ante about moving forward. If there was Financial Relief, they could be out serving their own community instead of serving tourists. Its just baffling to me. We didnt even get a chance to speak for ourselves, you know, the decisions that are being made for this october 8th reopening will ultimately affect us. So shouldnt we be consulted with now . Now, so far, 14,000 people have signed that petition. An all right, pam, time is now 441. Were getting you ready for this thursday. Ready for the heat that steve says is on the way. It is indeed. It started yesterday and it will continue today. So you knew it was overdue because september was so cool. October heat, though, thursday, friday, most of saturday, i think sunday we start to cool down and dare i say, dare dare. We could see some rain on tuesday, but until we get there, we have to deal with some heat and there is a heat advisory. You know, back in the day when i first started, you know, when the earth cooled, we would have just said, man, its hot out now. We put a heat advisory on. But thats the way it works now. 85 to 95, it is rather warm for some here. San rafael, San Francisco, livermore and san jose. Up we go. 93, 90, 93, 94. Its just temperatures are starting off warm and the air aloft is warm. Berkeley lab, 73 degrees. Ben lomond mountain is also almost 70 east wind and a little northeast at mt. Veeder at 11mph. So we still have that slight offshore component, 5060s on the temps. There are some mill valley sfo, warm, ill say warmer than many this time of year though some areas like san jose can be warmer than antioch and brentwood. Just how it starts to work once you get to october 68th pacific. So theyre looking for 80s today. Los altos hills is almost 70 degrees, a little cooler. Menlo park. Atherton. Stanford. Palo alto. But low 60s even for foster city, san mateo and san carlos, 30s in the mountains. You want to cool down, go up there. Crescent city, 72, which is ten warmer than san diego. Dont see that all the time but theres an easterly breeze up there. Skies are clear that high winds out for another couple of days. So itll be hot. I mean, if youre used to 65 or 68 on the coast and its 86, thats not warm. Thats hot. Hot pattern. Thursday, friday, saturday. But watch this. Not wont be sunday. Tuesday ramped it up. Jennifer azzi, a former member of that team, now with the las vegas aces, who i should mention also played for stanford, told ktvu that the Expansion Team would be a huge step forward for the wnba. They certainly he has a passion for the sport. All the great work that hes done with the warriors and i think its the right time now. Wnba commissioner said earlier this year that any new owner would need to be viewed as a long Term Investor in the team, have top notch facilities and value player experience. But temperatures are hot. Theres the San Francisco skyline in the distance. Its prompting a heat advisory for parts of the bay area starting this morning. And, steve, i think said it was going to be 93 in San Francisco. I threw in the towel and went 90. Wow. Thats pretty darn hot for people in the city. The forecast highs around 87 to 88, but yesterday they jumped and theyre already sitting at around 67, 66. So it wouldnt take much. Janet turner, though, is not happy. She says, i would prefer that it not be 93. In san rafael today, if you please, sir. Im with janet. Janet im only the messenger. Its a business of sales, not production. Remember that . So san rafael, 89 yesterday, 93 today. Theres your 90 in San Francisco. Now, thats just me. And there are times the city is tricky this time of year, especially if you get that east wind. Livermore yesterday was one of those days. Napa airport was warmer than concord and livermore. Well go 93 today and 94 in san jose, san jose all summer long. They were kind of like the also ran. Not lately. Theyve been one of the warmer locations heat advisories out takes us through friday 50s 60s on your temps here i mean theres some mild temps and theres some cooler ones, thats for sure. Look at bolinas 67. Yeah, bodega bay is 57, a lot of 50s in here. But sausalito and tiburon, 66, 68. You dont see that all the time. But easterly breeze will do it. 71, Crescent City, 61, san diego. So everythings topsy turvy in this kind of a pattern due to the direction of the wind, which is usually east or northeast. Its not strong. Thats the good news. But we are looking for a dry pattern or hot pattern, at least until next tuesday. What . Yes i mean, itll start to cool down sunday, monday for sure. A couple of the forecast models now sweep in some rain on tuesday. So, you know, i would welcome that, to be honest with you. But the next couple of days, its about warm temps to hot temps, wall to wall, sun hot for most. I mean, if youre on the coast, its your summer 80s and then 90s for just isothermal here theres not much of a spread here on a lot of these temps as you might imagine. October is much different than than summer i think saturday, a little cooler sunday cooling begins and then much cooler monday. All right. Thank you, steve. State inspectors have visited the happy, happy home daycare on fleetwood drive eight times during the last three years and records show the business has been cited six times, including one citation last month for a failure to check on infants every 15 minutes when they sleep. There were also concerns about the backyard swimming pool, including windows that had access to the pool and problems with fencing. Regulators say the pool problems were fixed back in 2021. The National DrowningPrevention Alliance says pools will always present a risk. Theres not one single solution thats going to completely eliminate the risk. We talk about a multi stage intervention strategy. Now. San jose police and state regulators continue to investigate the two drownings. Theyre not commenting on the case until the investigations are completed, and that may take months. Millions of children could soon lose their places at Daycare Centers across the country. Thats because federal funding provided during the pandemic has expired. Now, the money was used to keep the doors open at centers so parents could keep working. But without that extra money, an estimated 200,000 child care providers could go out of business without daycare. Some of those parents might have to leave their jobs. There are so many people that they dont have a grandma or an aunt or a cousin or anybody that can, you know, be a consistent person to watch their child every day. Daycare workers say the centers provide more than a place for the children to go. Many provide three meals a day as well as education and emotional support. Well bart was scheduled to arrive in the south bay in 2026, but now Officials Say extending Transit Service is going to take more time and more money and more money. The Santa Clara ValleyTransportation Authority says the 16 mile extension projectclude six stations between free mont and santa clara. And they estimate it will take another decade aid and an extra 3 billion to complete it. Despite this increase, the new figure remains within our funding plan due to strong support by locally supported sales tax measures and state and federal sources. The vta points to a delay, saying project adjustments, inflation and rising labor and Construction Costs are to blame. 518 is the time Steve Paulson says people are blaming you for the hot weather. For me, culpa, i guess. But will they blame me or give me credit when it rains tuesday . We will. We will. Yeah. Yeah yesterday was one of those days. Napa airport was 94. What . And they had an east wind about 15mph. Thatll do it occasionally, which was warmer than town in town. But if you live there, you know, thats unusual. But it was yesterday. San jose was 92. Santa cruz was 92. Palo alto on the stanford campus was 91. San rafael was 90. Sfo was 90. Oakland was 88in the city. She shot up to 86. Warm, hot degrees, ill say temperatures, though. I just the conditions are warmer this morning than yesterday at this time. So i went 93. San rafael went 90 in the city livermore was only 87 yesterday went 93 today in san jose up to 294. Heat advisories out today and tomorrow. After that, i think well start to ease up a little bit here. But if its pretty toasty here for many, especially on the coast, your summer has arrived on the coast, 50 60s on the temps. I mean, mill valley and sfo are warmer than brentwood and vacaville and fairfield. Dont see that all the time. Lagunitas is in the warm layer, 70 degrees, bolinas 66, tiburon, sausalito in there. Yet sonomas 54. Rohnert park at 55 point race 5530 in the mountains. Truckee and South Lake Tahoe 71 Crescent City, which is warmer than anyone on the coast. East wind. There you go. Thats the high is with us today and tomorrow. So we get a slight easterly breeze. Its not strong, but its enough to give everyone in on clear skies. Theres no fog. Sunday will start a pretty good cooldown monday for sure. And look at this forecast models sweep through some rain. Not a lot, but a little bit. On tuesday into early wednesday. So stay tuned. Today, though, its all about sunny side up and hot. Severe clear out there. Wall to wall, sun. Hot enough. Yeah. Hows that . Its too hot for many of us. Yes, some people like it, though. And if you do today, tomorrow, probably most of saturday, if youre inland, will. Inland. Inland inland will be to your liking. 50, 60. The city a warm 66 degrees. Here. Its too hot for some, not for others. Its clear out there. And if its too hot for you, you got to run for shade warmer for all. And that means i just threw in the towel and i went 90 here for all. All right. Sounds on board. Hes not a big fan of the heat, though. Hes not there. So i guess ill go to the anchors. Oh oh, okay. Im here. Pams here. Daves here. Yeah lets go back to them. All right. Well check sal in a bit. The memorial for the late senator Dianne Feinstein will be held at San Francisco city hall, but will no longer be open to the public. Instead, city officials have asked people to watch the memorial on a screen for security reasons. Ktvu is ali rasmus in San Francisco this morning with more of the details. Good morning, ali. Good morning, pam. Well, we know that Vice PresidentKamala Harris along with several members of the us senate, are expected to attend this memorial. That may be part of the reason why these security reasons, reasons why for security purposes, they are no longer having this open to the general public. It is still happening outside 1 00 this afternoon. You can see behind us in front of San Francisco city hall, a couple of rows of barricades, along with dozens of rows of chairs set up behind two stages, right on the steps of San Francisco city hall. Today. 1 00 is when this memorial is expected to begin. And it comes after a day long visitation as the late senator lyons state in the rotunda at San Francisco city hall all day yesterday, well known national and political figures came to say their goodbyes, including doctor Anthony Fauci and speaker emeritus nancy pelosi. But hundreds of the senators, constituents, regular san franciscans and people from the bay area who did not know feinstein personally also came through city hall yesterday to pay their respects. The visitation was supposed to end at seven in the evening last night, but there were so many people still in line. Feinsteins family decided to keep the visitation going for another hour. After that. She was such an inspiration and a role model for many people, and especially women. And so im here to show my respect. Shes just done so much that this is a rare opportunity to get to pay respects to somebody whos been so impactful. She did things on her own terms, but she always did them with gentleness. Now, the San Francisco gay mens chorus performed at the visitation in city hall rotunda yesterday as feinsteins daughter, granddaughter for family and friends, stood near her flag draped casket. Hundreds of people after coming through and stopping to pause at that casket, then signed a condolence book that will be given to feinsteins family and today, another event to say a final goodbye. A memorial will happen here outside the front steps of San Francisco city hall at 1 00 this afternoon. Again, as you can see from all the barricades out here, this is not open to the general public. Poke street completely closed off, not just to traffic, but also pedestrians. Grove street is as well. So be sure to plan accordingly if you are coming through this area for much of the afternoon, much of the area around San Francisco city hall will be closed off. Live in San Francisco, ali rasmus, ktvu fox two news. Thank you, ali. The late senator was also honored during a celebrate ation in downtown San Francisco. Johns grill marked 115 years in business by providing a free lunch for their regular customers and the community. The restaurant, which has been known as a favorite, Gathering Place for many elected officials, made sure to save a seat for senator feinstein. Former mayor willie brown was there, says the late senator was one of the regulars at johns grill. Dianne would be here today about to have lunch and about to tell some story of her experiences. Senator feinstein was a regular at johns grill for decades. She has her photo up on the wall. All we have a tribute for her today. The tribute was the restaurant place, seeing flowers on a table by the photo of the late senator. Dignitaries and elected officials who came to wish johns grill a happy anniversary. Also reflected on the impact feinstein had on San Francisco. Huge reason why i even decided to run for office stemmed on a conversation that she had with my third grade class. She said to my class, she said, im the only woman thats running and perhaps the next woman that wants to run for office is in this class. Customers said the place felt emptier knowing feinstein would not drop by, but they emphasized she has left a legacy that will live on certain lee Vice PresidentKamala Harris, as well as several members of congress, are expected to attend the Memorial Service this afternoon. Be sure to join us today as the nation bids a final farewell to the late senator feinstein. Our coverage starts at noon right here on ktvu and continue rouz with the Memorial Service starting at 1 00. Our time now. 535. The house of representative is in washington, d. C. Is right now at a standstill until a new speaker of the house is elected to replace kevin mccarthy. And political experts predict it wont happen anytime soon. Next week, republicans reportedly will hold a forum for the candidates for speaker of the house. Each person will need weeks to talk, to persuade and work out deals with other house members to rally the 218 votes needed to become the new speaker. Are you ready to say youre officially running for speaker . We havent sent anything out formally, but now here is a list of potential candidates for speaker of the house. The current majority leader, Steve Scalise of louisiana, is considered the favorite. Ohio congressman jim jordan is a favorite among the conservative hardliners. Oklahoma congressman kevin hern started his career by running several mcdonalds restaurants. He is a wealthy conservative, but hes not as well known as the others. North carolinas Patrick Mchenry is the current house pro tem and Kevin Mccarthys close friend from oklahoma, tom cole, is also on the list. And then there is the wild card, former president donald trump. My people have been calling me about speaker. All i can say is well do whatever is best for the country and for the republican party. Now, the speaker of the house does not have to be a member of the house, but republicans would still have to change the house rules. That right now ban anyone from leadership whos under a felony indictment. In california, workers will get at least five paid sick days per year under a bill signed into law by Governor Newsom. Now, this is an increase from the current minimum of three paid sick days a year. Backers say the law means workers wont have to worry about losing pay while recovering from an illness or caring for a loved one. They say offering sick days also helps save employers money through improved productivity and morale. Time is now 537, yet another racehorse has died. Golden gate fields racetrack. Now at least five horses have died there in the past two weeks, according to the california horseracing board. State documents show the two year old horse died after suffering whats called a musculo skeletal incident. This is now the 13th racehorse death at Golden Gate Fields so far this year, People Living on maui are calling on hawaiis governor to delay plans to reopen the western part of the island to tourism. Governor josh green has said that the area affected by the deadly wildfire in august will reopen to tourists on sunday. Majority of the people, if they want to go back to work, its because they have that fear and uncertainty about moving forward. If there was Financial Relief , they could be out serving their own community instead of serving tourists. Its just baffling to me. We didnt even get a chance to speak for ourselves. You know, the decisions that are being made for this october eighth reopening will ultimately affect us. So shouldnt we be consulted with so far, 14,000 people have signed that petition in. All right, pam, time is now 538. Steves here to talk about the weather and even San Francisco is going to be hot today. Yes, the coast as well. We will get to that in just a second here. My good friend chris henrys in morgan hill. Believe it or not, hes actually the gfs. Thats our Global Forecast system that projects out 16 days, shows rain on us on october 16th. Im starting to feel these vibes again. What are those vibes . The gfs marches to the beat of its own drummer. Am i being too harsh . So the joke is come with me and youll see a world of Pure Imagination on thats the gfs projection right there. Well played, chris. I understand theres a lot of the gfs is the butt of a lot of jokes and i honestly, i dont know. Its not. Its in third place as far as accuracy goes. The euro model and also the canadian model are better now. And its just i dont know, its just kind of a weird pattern lately, but but a couple of them have rain on us tuesday. So after this couple next couple of days here with the heat, we probably have a quick pattern change which is okay by me. But yesterday, look at the highs napa airport, san jose, santa cruz, palo alto, san rafael and sfo were all hotter than concord and livermore. Its just a wind driven oakland was 88in the city. Went up to 86 today. San rafael, i went to 93. Janet turner and pamela cook are not happy. You heard me. 90 in San Francisco, 93 livermore. I might even be too warm on that. Its just again, its just the time of year when its different. And san jose bumped you up too, so he advisory is out. That goes through friday. I do think there will be some cooling on saturday on the coast. But look at temps in the city. I mean, 64, 66, 68, 68, 159 is an outlier. Most are in the upper 60s. Their temperatures 5060 on the temp. Some locations already warm, others a little on the cooler side. 30 in the mountains. Crescent city, though , is warmer than anyone on the coast and only 1 degrees off phenix right now. You dont see that very often. Thats an offshore breeze up there as well. So you know, again, if youre on the coast and youre used to 65, 66 and its 84, thats not warm. Thats hot. So a hot pattern thursday into saturday, then i think we ease up. But today its all about sunshine and warm to hot temps. If today isnt the hottest day, tomorrow will be wall to wall sun temperatures. Well above average. 90s for many today and then tomorrow probably about the same. But i do think on saturday some fog starts to creep back to the coast. Sunday will be cooler, much cooler by monday. All right, steve, thank you. Time is 541. Pga customers, you can smile a little bit because you may get a break on your next bill. This follows the news that the family has reached a settlement with the state and the chp will pay 7 million to eric salgado rouz family. Salgado, who was 23 years old, was killed by chp officers during an attempted traffic stop in oakland. Investigators say he was driving a stolen car and was driving in the direction of Police Officers when they opened fire on salgado. The attorney for the salgado family says eric was only trying to leave the area. Both of the people were unarmed. Most of the shots came from the back, which which indicates to me that they didnt want him to get away. Not that he was a threat to them. Now, salgados girlfriend was seriously hurt in that shooting. Her unborn child did not survive. Now his family wants the Alameda CountyDistrict Attorney to charge the three officers involved. I think all officers involved in my brothers killing or murder should be held accountable. So, you know, i have optimism. Im going to keep fighting whenever you know, i literally feel like i have no choice. Last year, then District AttorneyNancy Omalley found the officers did not break the law by firing into the car. Salgado s sister says the family is planning another rally to try to get the case back on the radar of the current District Attorney, as well as state attorney general rob bonta. The police say they found bloodstains in the bathtub and in the front passenger seat of that car. We got never have your daughters gone into a man like you. Youre a pig. Two san jose High School Students who go to the same school and did something practically unheard of. They scored a perfect score on the second level. Ap calculus exam, both written nara and Kaylee Nguyen of Silver Creek High School got that perfect score this past spring. Only 14 other students in the entire world also earned perfect scores. And by the way, the two local students give all the credit to their ap calculus teacher. They have the same teacher, lena goodall, theyve taught. She has taught at silver creek for nearly 30 years. I couldnt sleep at all after seeing her email. It was like two students out of 16 students in the whole world and i just didnt sleep at all. I kept reading both the emails so many times. This is not the first time one of goodalls students earned a perfect score on the ap exam. 19 years ago, a student of hers earned a perfect score on the first level. Ap calculus exam. Go great work. I love that. Okay great story. Well, the newest powerball numbers are in and no one won the 1. 2 billion jackpot. Its got to happen. But 1 million ticket was sold in vacaville. So now here are the winning numbers on your screen. They are 935, 54, 63, 64. The powerball is one. Now, nobody matched all six numbers, but two tickets matching five of the six were sold in california. I told you about the one in vacaville. Another one was sold in elk grove. Both of those tickets are worth 1. 2 million. The last time someone won the jackpot was back on july 19th. This coming saturday night, the jackpot is now at 1. 4 billion. Okay we still have a chance. Theres a chance. All right. 550 is the time. Sales. Its nice to think about it. Yes, it is. Yes it is. What are you keeping an eye on . Well, the bay bridge for one, pam, because its getting a little more crowded, but its not. You know, weve been nice and quiet lately. We have a new crash west 80 at San Pablo Dam road on ramp. That is not on the actual freeway. Its on the on. So were hoping its not going to affect anything. It has been nice and quiet this morning so far. Right now, highway four has a little bit of a backup. There have been no major issues on 80, so were off to a nice start. This is a look at the Richmond Bridge and things are doing very well. We came back to the toll plaza and i because i forgot to mention where it starts to slow. Thats at the end of the parking lot right there. So that translates into maybe about a five minute delay before you get onto the actual bridge. 551 lets talk about todays weather. Heres steve. Thank you, sal. We are looking for some warmer temps today. If today isnt the hottest day, itll be friday after that, i think the trend will start to bring it down, no doubt about it on sunday. And for sure monday. But temperatures jumping up and that easterly breeze makes for some interesting temperatures as well. These are different than what we see in the summertime because the napa airport with an east wind due east went to 94. San jose, 92, santa cruz as well , 92. Palo alto is 91. San rafael 90 sfo, 90. Those were all warmer than concord and livermore yesterday. Oakland 88 and the city 86. Unfortunately the official temperature in San Francisco stopped working yesterday at 5 43 p. M. When it was 86. There has been no update since. Hopefully theyll get that fixed soon. A san rafael, San Francisco livermore, san jose. I actually am a little concerned about the livermore. I mean, you know, they were only 87 yesterday. They went 93 today 94. San jose went 90 in the city and 93 for san rafael, a heat advisory is out for some mainly areas to the south along the peninsula, down towards the Santa Clara Valley. That goes through tomorrow. Look at the temps in the except for that 59, which is an outlier. A lot of 65, 67, 68, 69, 64. Its already a warm pattern for many on the coast as well. Some of the warmer temps are there. I know pacifica is around 66 degrees. There are 60s and 50s, so some locations on the cool side, others are not. When Crescent City is only 1 degrees cooler than phenix and ten warmer than san diego. You know where topsy turvy. And thats what were dealing with. Although trucking South Lake Tahoe 32 and 33, the high winds out for another two days, maybe two and a half. Then it starts to back off and get replaced by lower pressure. But its a hot pattern into saturday, at least inland, although i think we do think the coast will start to drop on saturday. Severe clear, cool to mild lows, wall to wall, sun hot for most here. Temps 80s and 90s. And i dont think therell be too much change tomorrow does look a little cooler to me on saturday. Much more so sunday. Monday. All right. Thank you, steve. General motors is taking a financial hit from the United Auto Workers strike. Coming up at 6 00. Some slowing, but for the most part, were still doing pretty well at 601. Lets get back to the headlines all right. Thank you, sal. Today is, of course, the final farewell to beloved california senator Dianne Feinstein. This is a list of some of the events happening for her public Memorial Service. It begins at 1 00 this afternoon at San Francisco city hall. It will include taped remarks from President Biden. And were looking at some of the people coming by to pay their respects yesterday at city hall and into the evening. Now, those in attendance today include Vice PresidentKamala Harris, Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer, former House Speaker nancy pelosi, San Francisco mayor, london breed and feinsteins granddaughter, eileen mariano. The private burial will be held afterwards. An American Flag was draped over senator feinsteins casket as it was escorted out of city hall last night was rather symbolic as it was the end of a political life and career that started as a San Francisco supervisor at city hall more than 50 years ago. Thousands of people came to honor feinstein hours earlier when the casket was at the rotunda. Shes just done so much that this is a rare opportunity to get to pay respects to somebody whos been so impactful. She was a great leader, a tremendous respect for her. She was also a fighter. She fought for human rights. And i respect that she did fight for everyone. Gay mens chorus part of the emotional tribute to senator feinstein, a world renowned chorus there with the sounds of their chorus. The leader of the chorus served as an intern and then staff assistant in feinstein San Francisco office. Now be sure to join us this afternoon as the nation bids a final farewell to the late senator. Our coverage starts at noon right here on ktvu and continues with that Memorial Service starting at 1 00. Well also today, some very exciting news. The Golden State Warriors are expected to make a big announcement about adding a new team to the bay area. Ktvu is Bailey Ocarrolls right here in the studio to tell us more about a new team for the wnba. Bailey hey, guys. Good morning. That is right. The warriors expected to announce the first wnba Expansion Team since 2008. That team will be housed right here in the bay. Now, according to a source, the team will be headquartered in oakland, but theyll play their games at the chase center in San Francisco. Just last week, the warriors told us that they had had productive conversations with wnba execs about a possible expansion. The team would undoubtedly be a big boost economically for the city and for the warriors organization. But more importantly, it would give young women and female athletes a boost of confidence. Sometimes hard to be able to watch something and not know that that can one day be you. But when you look at something and look like youre looking in a mirror, it creates more of confidence and thats something that our young ladies need. The wnba commissioner said earlier this year that any new owner would need to be viewed as a long Term Investor in an Expansion Team and have top notch facilities and value player experience. The warriors reportedly checking all of those boxes now on top of that, theres already a Strong Female basketball fan base here in the bay area with stanford and cal, not far away. But again, that deal not officially official just yet. That official announcement, though, expected to come later today. Back to you guys. All right. Thank you, bailey. Our time is now. 604 Staff Members in the San FranciscoUnified School District have now authorized a strike if they cant work out a deal on a new contract. About 900 food service workers, paraeducators and custodians have been negotiating on a new contract. The union says almost 100 of its members voted wednesday in favor of a strike higher pay. Thats the biggest sticking point. The union says many employees struggle to live in San Francisco on their current salaries. Now, School District officials released a statement. It says in part, used remains committed to negotiating in good faith with our labor partners. It also says sfusd has 16 bargaining units and is committed to a budget process that prioritizes Financial Decisions that most directly benefit student experiences. Well, this is day two of the strike. By 75,000 Kaiser Permanente medical workers who are picketing across the country. That includes walnut creek right outside the kaiser facility. Theyre picketing, as we talk to, say that theyre biggest concerns are unsafe Staffing Levels. That leaves employees overworked and patients under served constantly. Shortstop and were constantly having to close rooms. So theres times where theres not enough staff to fill in all the operating rooms. So then we delay it so its delayed patient care. The staffing crisis is very serious and i have to listen to them tell me they think theyre going to lose a foot. They think they have diabetes or they think theyre going to die before a patient, before theyre able to see a doctor. Its really sad. Now, last night, kaiser officials released a statement that said it is committed to reaching a new agreement that provides employees with more market leading wages. Excellent benefits and generous retirement plans. The strike is scheduled to continue until saturday morning at 6 00, but the unions have also said that if a new deal is reached, they would come back to work early. Now, late last night, the unions released this statement. It says, quote, Frontline Health care workers are waiting a meaningful response from kaiser executives regarding some of our key priorities, including safe staffing, outsourced protections for incumbent Health Care Workers and fair wages to reduce turnover, Health Care Workers within the coalition remain ready to meet at any time. Currently the strike continues, and there are no sessions scheduled at this hour. Our time now. 607 were learning more about the san jose Home Daycare Center where two little girls drowned earlier this week. State inspector have visited the happy, happy home daycare on fleetwood drive eight times in the last three years. Those records show the business has been cited six times, including once citation last month for not checking on infants every 15 minutes when they sleep. There were also concerns about that backyard pool, including windows that had access to the pool and also problems with fencing regulators say the pool problems were fixed back in 2021. The National DrowningPrevention Alliance says pools will always be risky. Theres not one single solution thats going to completely eliminate the risk. We talk about a multi stage intervention strategy. Now. San jose police and state regulators are still investigating, saying the two drownings theyre not going to comment on the case until theyre investigations are over. That may take months. A Conservation Group has purchased nearly 400 acres of redwood forest near guerneville as part of an effort to restore sonoma countys Russian River redwoods. Now the land includes 224 acres that was targeted for logging. The Conservation Group save the Redwoods League was able to buy the land after collecting 6. 5 million in grants and donations support that came from more than 2000 contributors. So its really a symbol of what was then and really what can be now, because what were going to do is work with our partners at the county to change the course of this land forever. Napa airport was 94 yesterday and san jose 92, santa cruz 92, palo alto, 91, san rafael and sfo 90. Whats that . Have to do with anything . They were both all of these were warmer than concord and livermore, which were 89 and 87. Oakland was 88 and San Francisco hit 86 at 5 43 p. M. Yesterday and then stopped transmitting data. Nothing since. So i dont know what the current temperature is, but i can show you some that i think its close. Santa fell. San Francisco Livermore san jose bumped them all up 93, 92, 93 and 94. Again, anything along the coast or in San Francisco, oakland is dependent on that easterly breeze and its still there. Heat advisories out through friday and for good reason. Were above average. Look at the temps in the city, 64, 64, 68, 67 and 70. So i you know, i dont think any west breeze is kicking in until maybe on saturday here. 50 60s on the temps here. I mean, theres some sfo 67 drop a ten though, for menlo park, you know, fairfield 60 Half Moon Bay, 55. Santa rosa 56. So a lot more 50s. But there are a few isolated 60s 30s in the mountains, truckee, south, lake tahoe. Well, Crescent City went from 72 now to 55. I think thats called a wind shift 60s in Southern California. And the highs large in charge here for about another 48 hours. Then i think it backs off. But the coast sunshine. Oh, plenty. Theres not a strong offshore component, but there is a slight one. So thats all it takes by sunday, well start to cool down. By monday, a big cooldown and look at tuesday. Look at that. A couple of forecast models bringing rain in. Theres some chatter on the on twitter, of course, how the rest of the month is going to be hot and dry. I dont buy it for a second. Not one second. 80 to 96. Well, therell be some warm stretches. Yes. But there will also be some cooler ones sandwiched in. And that one wont arrive until monday, tuesday, but the next couple of days, sunny side up and warmer. 80s 90s for many little cooler on the coast saturday. I think cooling begins sunday. Much cooler. Pam on monday. All right. Thank you, steve. I went 90s for all. Just why not . Sometimes you just throw in the towel and say you know what, its going to be hot and thats one of those days sals here hopefully the bay bridge toll plaza is Getting Better not worse but hell tell us you know it is actually okay. It is backed up to the maze. This is what we would expect for this time of the morning. Steve, if you are driving into San Francisco, youre going to see it backed up all the way out to the maze. Metering lights are on , which is about a 10 to 15 minute wait on the bay bridge. Lets talk about the east bay getting there, though. A lot of people are stuck in traffic on highway four. 680 looks pretty good. 80 is slow through richmond and 580 is slow at the Altamont Pass at 631. Lets get back to the headlines all right, sal. Thank you. Well, political leaders from all over the country will be at San Francisco city hall today for a special Memorial Service for the late senator Dianne Feinstein right outside of city hall is ali rasmus is already there to show us the preparations and the change in plans for what was supposed to be a public memorial. Good morning, ali. Good morning, dave. Yeah, that change is that this will no longer be a memorial open to the general public. Youll need a ticket or a badge to be invited. Guest basically, in order to get past these barricades here behind us, you can see the setup is already in place for this 1 00 memorial today. Theyve got rows of barricades and beyond that rose of dozens of chairs set up behind two stages, right on the front steps of San Francisco city hall. All other business at city hall today is closed because of this event. We know that Vice PresidentKamala Harris is expected to speak at this memorial. Senator majority leader Chuck Schumer as well. And dozens of elected officials from around the country are expected to be in attendance 1 00 this afternoon is when it is supposed to begin. And it comes after a day long visitation yesterday as senator Dianne Feinstein lie in state at the rotunda at San Francisco city hall for much of the day, wellknown national and political figures came to pay their respects, including dr. Anthony fauci and speaker emerita nancy pelosi. But hundreds of the senators, constituents who did not know feinstein personally but appreciated her work also said they wanted to come through and say their goodbyes. Yesterday, the visitation was supposed to end at 7 00 yesterday evening, but there were so many people still in line at that point. Feinsteins family decided to keep it going. Another hour. She was a great leader, a tremendous respect for her. She was also a fighter. She fought for human rights, and i respect that. It was a huge honor and privilege to work for her. I met her when i was 15, and since that time ive had huge admiration and respect for her. So this is to pay tribute to a life well lived. The San Francisco gay mens chorus performed at that visitation in the rotunda at city hall yesterday. As feinstein daughter, granddaughter, family and friends stood by. Now, after everyone stopped by the flag draped casket in the rotunda, hundreds of people in line went on to sign a condolence book that they had at city hall for feinsteins family. Today, another event to say a final goodbye. The memorial for Dianne Feinstein will happen here at 1 00 this afternoon. Then again , it is no longer open to the general public that initially was the plan. But late last night, the Senators Office sent out saying that something because of security reasons that they would not elaborate on this has now become an invitation only memorial out here at San Francisco city hall. And you can see the barricades again set up here, polk street closed off to traffic and pedestrians are not letting anyone walk through grove street is closed as well. And so its going to be shut down like this for much of the day. So do plan ahead. If you drive through this area. Live in San Francisco, ali rasmus, ktvu, fox two news. All right, ali, thank you. As ali just told you, Vice PresidentKamala Harris and several members of congress are expected to be at this afternoons Memorial Service. Be sure to be here with us at ktvu as the nations as a final farewell to the late senator feinstein. Our coverage begins at noon here on ktvu. It continues with that Memorial Service beginning at 1 p. M. The house of representatives is at a standstill until a new speaker of the house is elected. Political experts predict it wont happen anytime soon. Now, next week, republicans reportedly will hold a forum for speaker candidates. Each person will need to talk with, persuade and work out deals with other house members to come up with the 218 votes needed to become speaker. Are you ready to say youre officially running for speaker . We havent sent anything out formally, but we will. Now, heres a list of potential candidates for House Speaker current majority leader Steve Scalise of louisiana is considered the favorite. Ohio congressman jim jordan is a favorite among conservative hardliners is oklahoma congressman kevin hearn. Started his career by running several mcdonalds restaurants. S hes a wealthy conservative, but not as well known as the other candidates. North carolinas Patrick Mchenry is the current house pro tem and mccarthys close friend from oklahoma, tom cole. Then theres the wild card. Former president donald trump. People have been calling me about speaker. All i can say is well do whatevers best for the country and for the republican party. Would you take the job now . The House Speaker does not have to be a member of the house. However current rules do ban anyone from leadership who is under a felony indictment. Our time now. 636 California Workers will now get at least five paid sick days a year under a bill Governor Newsom signed into law. Its an increase from the current minimum of three paid sick days a year. Supporters say the law means workers wont have to worry about losing pay while they recover from an illness or while theyre caring for a loved one. They say offering sick days also helps save employers money through improved product tivity and better morale. Now, several california cities made the top 100 list of having the best food in the country. San francisco ranked highest among cities in the bay area. Rounding out the top five us cities for food lovers, oakland ranked 21st and santa rosa was 35th. San jose also made the list at number 52. San bento ranked highest in the state coming in at number three on the list. We have a lot of good food in many cities, right . We do. I guess you need to do some research to tell us. Well, now that i have the okay from you, im going to do that. Some of the favorites. Okay. All right. Time is 637. I can talk food with sal, but youve got to talk about our commute this morning. Yeah you know, and the good thing, dave, is that we dont have anything that unusual. We have slowdowns as dave and pam. I should address you both. We have slowdowns that are typical. I can go right to pleasanton, for example. Some slowing there and some slowing at the Altamont Pass. Thats not going to surprise anyone because thats what we expect. You can see the traffic here on the dumbarton bridge and on the san mateo bridge. Things look good. In fact, the san mateo bridge, lets bring that up here. You can see traffic is moving along. Okay getting out to the high rise when you get to the bay bridge toll plaza, it is backed up all the way out to the maze. Metering lights are on again, though, this is not unusual and im hoping itll stay kind of a, you know, typical commute and we dont have any crashes to get in the way of people. Thats when things start really going south. But we havent yet. 638 lets bring steve back in with todays weather. It is not unusual to tom jones to be warm in october is what i know. It isnt a little too warm, though. I understand. I understand. Theres people who like it out there. We will get to the fleet week forecast, which looks pretty good. Friday, saturday. I do think, though, the cooler starts to spill in on sunday. So that may fog and low clouds, not an issue today or tomorrow, thats for sure. Hot temperatures wednesday, day to friday, no doubt about it. They started yesterday. They took a big jump for some yesterday. Well continue that theme today , october heat, thursday, friday, saturday, way above average, elevated fire concerns. The one saving grace here is theres not a strong offshore wind that were thankful for. But yesterday day was one of those tricky days. The napa airport with an east wind went to 94. San jose, santa cruz, palo alto, san rafael and sfo, all between 90 and 92. They were all warmer than concord and livermore, oakland was 88 and San Francisco was 86. Unfortunately, San Franciscos official temperature stopped working at 5 43 p. M. Yesterday when it showed 86. I went 90 today. San rafael 93. Livermore is a tough one. I mean, honestly, in the summertime its easier. And this time of year it depends on the wind. So i went 93 and then san jose bumped you up to 94. Look at the temps in the city. I dont know about that. 59 maybe theres it could be a cold air drainage, but most are in the 60s, upper 60s to 70 degrees and temperatures are starting off mainly in the 50s. But there are a few 60s showing up. But if youre in the higher elevations, its warm, warm, warm. Not in truckee, 30 South Lake Tahoe, 32. Alturas 37, and mammoth 36. Reno 41. This high is winning out for today and tomorrow. So again on the coast, i say hot. Its not warm because were used to 64, 65 and its 84. Thats hot. And inland temps are above average as well. But look at this tuesday. A couple forecast models say were bringing in some rain about that. Theyve upped the amounts compared to yesterday. So that wont be until tuesday. But stay tuned. I think we get i think the pattern is transitory. Nothing is sticking. So the next couple of days, its all about sunshine, hot temperatures. I think cooler starts sunday, monday and then tuesday, we maybe look for rain, but today and tomorrow well be in the hot category. You guys. All right, steve, thank you. Time is 640. And also theres a new crash in san jose on the mckee road on ramp to southbound 680. So nearby, southbound, 680 at mckee. Theres a crash right there. So two crashes in san jose all of a sudden getting our attention. Lets talk about 580. We have slow traffic coming in from tracy to livermore. 680 is slowing south through pleasanton in san mateo. Bridge is getting busier, but its not a Critical Mass just yet. And at the bay bridge, we have a backup that stretches for about 15 minutes. 648. Lets talk about todays weather. Heres steve. Sal how about a breaker . How about, you know what . When i said that in the newsroom, everyone looked at me like i had said something very, very bad. I saw it on i still say twitter. I saw it on twitter. Thank you, sal. San rafael, San Francisco, livermore and san jose. What about them . Theyll be warmer today. It was warm to hot yesterday and i bumped everyone up a little bit here today. 93. San rafael went 90 in the city. Livermore only 87 yesterday. 93 today. Im a little little concerned about that. It may only be about 90 to 91, but well go with it. And san jose, which has been hot lately, one of the warmer locations went 92 yesterday. Well go 94 today. Heat advisories out mainly, of course, you can see areas more toward the south and Santa Clara Valley. But temperatures in the city are already warm. Thats ocean beach. Theyre just dropped to 68, but still 68, 69, 70. Thats warm conditions, 50, 60 sfo, 67 degrees. Mill valley 65. If youre in the higher elevation, its in the 70s, its really warm in the higher elevations. Thats whats called your inversion truckees 30 South Lake Tahoe 32 alturas and mammoth. Also in the 30s, reno 41. The high builds north for today, tomorrow and then i think it starts to move inland on saturday. Still warm to hot i think saturday for inland areas but not the coast. So today and tomorrow well be if you want, warm weather and hot today and tomorrow. But look at this forecast models next tuesday bringing in some rain, especially about, you know, San Francisco, concord, north. Well see if they hold on to that. But i would not be surprised. The pattern does appear to be transitory this time around. Nothing sticks. Wall to wall sun hot for most here 80s and 90s. Not only today but also tomorrow. That east breeze plays into some tricky forecast, but well keep it there through saturday then cool it down sunday and big drop monday. Dave all right, steve, thank you.
