Lee Berry is accused of fatally hammering roommate Glenn Anderson, 64

CANTON – A man pleaded guilty Thursday to a murder charge for striking his roommate in the head with a hammer several times, causing his death.
Berry had placed the 911 call that prompted Stark County Sheriff's deputies to respond to the trailer. The defendant was still at the scene.
Stark County Common Pleas Judge Frank Forchione imposed an agreed upon sentence of 15 years to life in prison, but not before noting that Berry's actions were gruesome, brutal and cruel.
Anderson was someone who was a mentor to Berry, the judge said.
"I can't imagine what brought you to kill someone with a hammer, and the only hammer that I have in this case is prison," Forchione said.
