The Arkansas Department of Health reports the statewide COVID-19 numbers have stabilized, although Clay County recorded a sharp increase in cases in the past week. And although the case numbers have stabilized in Arkansas, the death toll continues to climb and has eclipsed the 5,000 mark.
Statewide in Arkansas on Wednesday the total number of cases stood at 309,940, up from last Wednesday's total of 300,430, and an increase of 1,092 in the previous 24 hours. Of those 14,190 were considered still active, down 708 from the previous day as the decline continues. On the other hand, the death toll continues to climb in Arkansas as it stood at 5,174, an increase of 25 in the previous 24 hour period.
