Officials from a local conservation authority used Earth Day to celebrate the efforts of an area landowner to preserve a natural area.
The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority announced Thursday it has accepted a 25-acre woodlot as a donation from East Kent resident Kenneth Ashton. The parcel of land is a “beautiful example of a Carolinian forest,” a news release said.
