Gloria Berry, D10 resident, candidate for supervisor and elected member of the Democratic County Central Committee Assembly District 17, sponsored a broadly endorsed and near unanimous resolution adopted by the DCCC in 2020 calling for full moratorium, medical monitoring and reparations for Hunters Point residents.

Biomonitoring detects pollution in people. As a method for measuring toxic chemicals in human tissues, HBM is a proven tool for studying harmful environmental chemicals to confirm exposures and validate public health policies. Population biomonitoring was first applied to environmental public health in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s regulatory reduction of lead in gasoline on Jan. 1, 1986.

New Haggin Museum exhibit traces history of environmental movement

Card image cap

Visitors to Stockton’s Haggin Museum will be the first in the country to see a new collection that traces the history and impact of the environmental movement through art.
“The Long View | From Conservation to Sustainability | Works from the Bank of America Collection” is making its inaugural exhibition Thursday, May 6, at The Haggin, which reopened recently after a year of being mostly shuttered due to the pandemic.
Beginning in the mid-19th century, “The Long View” examines the evolution of humanity’s relationship with — and need to protect — the Earth and its inhabitants, and the artists that have played a role in shaping the environmental conversation, The Haggin said in a news release.

Earth Day is every day in Chico

Collective action and protecting the environment is what Earth Day is all about. The holiday started on April 22, 1970 and Chico State has been celebrating it since the start. The first celebration was seen as a protest but it has grown to be a joyous occasion.
“Restore our Earth” is the theme for Earth Day this year. It focuses on climate change, individual action and climate change literacy.
Chico State celebrates all Earth Day festivities: Earth Day, Earth Week and Earth Month. The university is all for sustainability and inclusiveness. Chico State has a few programs and clubs for Wildcats to get involved in sustainability efforts.

Making Marijuana Green [FEATURE] |

Your cannabis consumption has a carbon footprint, and when everybody's cannabis consumption is added up, that carbon footprint gets mighty big. But most of that climate-changing impact is coming from marijuana grown under lights indoors with extensive heating, air conditioning, and electrical requirements. Marijuana grown outdoors or in greenhouses (or hoop houses) doesn't require any of that and has virtually no impact on greenhouse gas emissions.
It would appear that the ethical thing for marijuana consumers to do when it comes to addressing climate change is to consume outdoor, sun-grown marijuana. But that is just for starters. Environmentally conscious consumers can get really serious and demand marijuana that is sun-grown, organic, and produced in a sustainable and regenerative fashion.

A Successful Earth Day Cleanup - Hudson Reporter

A Successful Earth Day Cleanup
On Saturday, April 24, Bayonne held a successful Earth Day cleanup around the community.  Organizations, businesses, schools, and neighbors were invited to participate. More than thirty teams of four to 10 people each removed litter from commercial areas, residential neighborhoods, parks, and other places in Bayonne. A group of City of Bayonne employees cleaned up part of our Broadway commercial district. Other people took part on an individual basis by cleaning up around their own property.  On behalf of the City of Bayonne, I would like to thank everyone who took part.  We owe special thanks to the Hackensack Riverkeeper organization for their support.  We would like to thank the State of New Jersey’s Clean Communities Program for its financial assistance.  We would like to recognize and thank the Public Works employees who picked up the garbage bags that volunteers filled during the day of activity. Finally, we would like to thank Dee Dee Bottino of the Bayonne Urban Enterprise Zone (UEZ) for organizing the 2021 cleanup.

WhatsApp update! Messaging app may suggest stickers to spice up your chats

For example, if you type ‘happy’ then you will be shown a few stickers displaying a happy mood.
These stickers are basically the ones already available on the platform.
WhatsApp’s recently launched build for Android smartphone dropped a hint towards the new feature.
WhatsApp may soon let users express themselves with more stickers than words or emojis for that matter. The world’s largest messaging platform is reportedly working on a feature that will show users a slew of stickers based on what they are typing in the message box.
For example, if you type ‘happy’ then you will be shown a few stickers displaying a happy mood. These stickers are basically the ones already available on the platform. While the company hasn’t announced the feature officially, it is likely to add more stickers to make the platform to make it more interactive than ever.
