JACKSON TWP. More than 100 children will receive bicycles for Christmas thanks to the efforts of Lumen Nation.
Lighting store co-owners Tom Rafferty and Davene LoVaglio decided four years ago to donate bicycles to Toys for Tots. They managed five the first year, 17 in 2018 and 31 last year. They hoped to collect 50 this year but ended up with 103.
LoVaglio said the drive started earlier this year, which might be a factor in the increased donations. The store worked with the Stark & East Central Ohio Building Industry Association, as well as customers and others to help Toys for Tots.
"It was a huge collaboration between clients and friends," LoVaglio said.
