After eight years at the helm, Russell Moore is out as the head of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission – and those within and without the SBC are breathing a sigh of relief.
Moore
(pictured) announced on Tuesday he was resigning his post as president of the ERLC (effective on June 1) to take a job as "public theologian" at Christianity Today. In a press release recognizing the work of his ERLC staff, he touts accomplishments on behalf of human dignity, religious freedom, and racial reconciliation and justice.
