More N.J. schools switching to all-remote classes as COVID-19 cases rise, winter break nears, Murphy says

As schools approach the winter break, most districts in New Jersey have transitioned to some form of remote learning, with fewer than 100 buildings fully open to in-person learning, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday.
Murphy said the number of school districts providing all-remote learning has increased to 320 while another 362 districts have a mix of in-person and remote learning as of Monday. Eighty-two schools remain open for all in-person instruction, while another 47 have some mix of all-remote, in-person or hybrid learning.
The move to all-remote has coincided with the winter break, Murphy said during his latest coronavirus briefing in Trenton.
