Morris County leads NJ in fully vaccinated residents 65 and older
Federal and state data shows that per capita, Morris County has the highest number of vaccinated senior citizens in New Jersey.
Since inoculation efforts were launched in January, 67% of county residents ages 65 and older have been fully vaccinated. Morris County is also the first among northern counties for vaccinating residents 18 and older.
“We are about two weeks away in Morris County from meeting the state goal of getting the equivalent of 75% of our population with at least their first shot,” said Morris County Commissioner John Krickus.
Overall, more than 420,000 vaccine doses have been administered at the county's vaccine mega-site in Rockaway or at hospitals, pharmacies, stores and medical offices in the area, according to state data.
