This, as Secretary Of State Antony Blinken continues his shuttle diplomacy, with a visit to egypt today, working on all of these issues. I vowed to Work Together as well to ensure that this crisis. To help ensure that, a second u. S. Aircraft carrier, the eisenhower, will join the uss gerald ford, already in the Eastern Mediterranean. And inside israel, relentless threats from the air. [inaudible] we were rushed to a bomb shelter as Air Raid Sirens went off. We experienced what life is like even here in tel aviv. About 20 of us, including all six senators, had to be herded into a shelter because of the missile strikes, thank god, none of them hit. It also happened to the u. S. Delegation here. Senators forced to take cover. Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer and mitt romney in tel aviv, along with others, to meet with israeli officials as well as families americans taken hostage by Hamas Terrorists. When you got off that plane, what was the first thing wanted to tell israels leaders . I wanted to tell israels leaders we have your back. Do you think theres hope to Rescue American hostages . Of course there is. Thats why they were grabbed, a hamas wants to see if they can get something. Hope is all this something this family has. Hope isthey havent heard frr loved ones, keith and adrian segel, since saturday, when neighbors say Hamas Terrorists march them from their home. You met with United States senators. What did you tell them . We all told him that we want our families back in israel, and now. We havent got time. We need them to bring them back to their homes, back to their children, back to their grandchildren. Just some of the americans who have law ones that are now hostages being held by those Hamas Terrorists. Tonight, we have reporters fanned out all across the region. First, we want to take you now to the border between israel and the gaza strip, where those Israeli Forces are preparing for an all out assault on hamas. Alison barber joins us live now from that transporter. Alison, even reporting there for seven days, now and youre in an area where there is heavy military movement. I understand theres been some heavy equipment moving in in just the last couple of hours . Hello, tom, yeah, thats right, weve seen that happen a lot in the last few days since weve been here, in the last couple of hours we have seen two small convoys. And you maybe see some flashing over behind my shoulder. That is gaza, just behind us. And in the last little bit of, time weve started to see the skyline back their light up with the pockets of orange three times in probably the last ten minutes. But for the most part, things here have been eerily quiet. I spoke to you around this time last, night and said the same thing. But what we have been seeing our movements of Military Equipment. We saw two small conference tonight of Flatbed Trucks. That was a boom off in the distance in gaza just now. But the Flatbed Trucks we saw, they were carrying Armed Personnel Carriers into the direction of gaza. One thing that is different tonight compared than when we saw Military Equipment the other day, they didnt stop at a Military Staging Area nearby, they kept going and appear to be the gaza border. Tom . And ellison, i know youve been talking to Israeli Soldiers there where you are. They were essentially waiting for this invasion to begin. How are they feeling right now . What is the mood there . Yeah, some of them are frustrated when they specifically talk about how all of this started, the terror attacks that unfolded on saturday. They talk about their pain and frustration. We met one idf commander at a gas station not far from here today, and he wanted to talk to us. He talked about how frustrated he was that it took so long for the Security Forces to respond to the initial terror attack, and the fact that it has taken so many days, seemingly, for any sort of real offensive to go into gaza to try to get the hundred plus people out from inside. Tom, he looked at me, and said im 32 years old, me and many other men by age could walk into gaza right now and say take us, but let the women, but the children, let the elderly go. They are frustrated because they have over 100 people inside of gaza still stuck and so many of them, they really are very young, they are older, they are women, they are civilians who have nothing to do with any of the conflicts at play here. Tom . Ellison barber, speaking to the soldiers and families that are there on the front lines. Ellison, we thank you for your report. Its been over 48 hours since the Israeli Military gave a warning to 1. 1 million civilians in gaza to evacuate, in preparation for a Ground Offensive. Joining us tonight is the International Spokesman for the Israeli Defense fourth, jonathan conricus. Jonathan, i know your country is at war so i appreciate you taking the time to talk to me and our viewers tonight. There is news that the Rafah Border In Egypt will be open for Palestinian Foreign nationals, including americans, to get out and just a few hours, and for aid to come in. Can you tell us tonight categorically that there will be no bombing or shelling near this area, as people are trying to cross and humanitarian assistance this trying to get in . [silence] [silence] sorry, sorry, i was on mute. Thank you for having me, and i will repeat what i said that wasnt audible. Weve already tried with the egyptians and the americans and others to coordinate the Safe Passage Of Americans out of the gaza strip. We were for it, and of course make sure there was no military activity of ours in the area. But it was stopped by hamas. So its very much up to hamas to decide if they are going to allow and what is going to happen. Of course, anything humanitarian, coordinated with israel, with the government, or with the ministry will be respected, in theory. Jonathan, idf is reporting that there are 126 hostages confirmed. These are people kidnapped by the terrorists of hamas that unleashed so much evil on your people. Has there been any communication between hamas in israel, or a third party like another country, on the freeing those hostages . Not that i am aware, of no. I dont have to remind you about the last shot, but many of our viewers may not be as familiar. He was an israeli soldier that hamas kept hidden for five years. It took a Prisoner Swap of 1000 palestinian prisoners to get him back. What makes you think negotiators will negotiate with you or the u. S. For those american hostages . What hamas will do is of less concern. And without going into politics and strategy, i dont think that israel is looking to negotiate. What we are going to do is dismantle hamas, its military leadership, its military capabilities, so that at the end of this war, hamas doesnt have any military capability. And of course, it is our intention and commitment to the families of those held hostage to bring those israelis home. But i know youre aware of that convoy of palestinians that was struck, 70 people, including children, trying to flee gaza. Palestinian media, there are reports that it was an israeli airstrike. I know israel is denying those reports. What is your understanding of what happened, and was it an israeli airstrike that killed those innocent palestinians . Well, we are in a war zone. And in war, lots of things happen at the same time. War also encompasses the information realm. And what we have said unequivocally gentle hug ali, the idf spokesperson, and everybody else is that clearly we have not targeted any convoy, any civilians on that road, specifically on that road, and nowhere else in general, but specifically to that location. Clearly know purposeful targeting. It may have been an incident of fire around it. But that is very unlikely. And what i would want to bring to the four is the fact that the gaza strip is overrun by a Terrorist Organization. Yeah, jonathan, i just want to stop. Jonathan, i just want to stop you for a moment, because the sounds a little different than what weve heard from israeli officials. Are you saying that there still a possibility that it was indeed an israeli airstrike, it might have been a mistake, but it might have an israeli bombs that killed those 70 people . So, that was before in the midsentence. Thats what i was getting to. Gaza strip is governed by a Terrorist Organization that has a long track record, proven record, of lying, falsifying, and dealing in misinformation. We assess that it is hamas who in fact staged these explosions. And hamas is responsible for what happened here. And at this stage, we have looked into the information provided by journalists, we have tried to corroborate questions and understand what happened, it is a very chaotic environment. And what i can say, clearly, unequivocally, is that we did not in any case target any convoy. But i want to be on the safe side and say, you know, things can happen in war. But there was definitely nothing purposeful. And i think that the investigation should be looking at who would stand to gain from such a convoy being attacked, specifically on the route that we made sure would be open for the evacuation. And the answer is clear, the organization that stands to gain from this is hamas. And unfortunately, and i dont think it would be beneath hamas to attack their own civilians if they think it would gain them anything in the realm of diplomacy or International Public opinion. Diplomacy or International Public opinion jonathan jonathan, with the idea. If we thank you for your time. Kate, im gonna send it back to you. All right, just a few hours from now. That rough across saying, bordering egypt we are told will open up as one of the only escape route for foreign nationals. Including americans, inside of gaza to get out of harms way. Palestinian official confirms to nbc news that that will happen. But its not clear how long it will stay open. Joining me now is jeremy bash, former chief of staff at the cia and the department of Nbc News National Security analyst, jeremy good to have you with us. Can you help our viewers, we have some maps, help viewers understand this rafah Border Crossing. How big is it . What would be, how hard would it be to get many, many people through that opening . Its not very big, imagine the size of an nfl stadium, with Hundreds Of Thousands of people, maybe millions of people or 2 Million People trying to get into this area. Look at this map right here, we have gusts up here in the orange, youve got egypt, a continuous land border between egypt and gaza. This Border Crossing is the only Land Crossing that is available to palestinians coming south through the gaza strip. Israel, over here in yellow. Their two Border Crossings up north. But for the people of gaza, when they get into egypt, theyre going to, be obviously, in a country that can take care of them, provide humanitarian assistance for them. Lets talk about reporting in the New York Times tonight. That says that the gold of israels militarys goal is to capture gaza city. I think you have a different map, with gaza city up in the northern part of the country so walk us through that, if that is the goal, right in the middle of the evacuation zone, what does that mean . Sure, again, here in israel in green, gaza in orange, at the north and of gaza city and at the end of the north end of the gaza city the population is going to be evacuating south, out of this red area, down into the orange area and then ultimately, potentially, some of them will leave the egypt. Although, not yet, to be clear. Those who have worn passports. Thats right, and ultimately there will be humanitarian support that will go in through the rough across, ing in from the green, to the orange, and the population there will hopefully get some humanitarian relief and israels military objectives, its important to know its trying to isolate gaza city. Not to bulldoze the entirety of the gaza civilian areas, rather, they are going after specific targets. You could see, here in the dark colors, specific areas where hamass access to a commanding control access to have the weapons catches, and weve been factors and its a very important point. Israels Military Operation is not a bulldozer town. Its to go specifically after specific point to see her. The black areas are where airstrikes from israel have created damage or some sort. Its likely that those darker areas is where you will see ground operations, naval fires, longrange fighters and drone strikes. Dismounted off of Armored Personnel Carriers to go house to house and try to find hostages and tried to track down how masters. I want to ask, secretary the state has been all over the region over the last few days, we have a map of where he has been and this is shuttle diplomacy, right . Its going to talk with lots of different players and what is the goal . The goal is to ensure that iran doesnt jump in, and hes gone to egypt to talk about humanitarian assistance. Hes talked to qatar over here in the gulf to talk about how to negotiate with hamas. They have a lot of influence with hamas. Potentially, get the hostages out. Hes gone to the united arab emirates, to jordan, and other gulf and arab allies actually work cooperatively with israel, they do not want to see a wider war. But i think its important to note that if iran jumps into this. In the northern part of israel on top of that yellow area. In the top of the yellow part of a if it jumps in that will essentially be a war between israel and iran. Thats why weve got a Carrier Strike group in the Eastern Mediterranean right near israel in the waterway. That is to deter iran from jumping into the sport. Thank you so much, very helpful to see it, and talk about it. Jeremy bash. Still ahead tonight, the americans stuck in gaza. Ill talk with the dad, and grandfather here in the u. S. Hoping his daughters family will get up. Plus, as we go to break tonight we will hear from some of the voices of this war on both sides. Theyre basically bombing everywhere and its literally a humanitarian crisis. Were just trying to help those who have been caught up into the front line. And who have been displaced from their homes. Special report on the war between israel and hamas. Im live in tel aviv, and right now, a second aircraft carrier, the Uss Eisenhower is speeding towards the mediterranean to join the uss for off of israel as part of the u. S. s response. And, tonight, right now id like to bring in our Nbc News National Security correspondent, courtney. So, courtney, explain to our viewers what the role of these two u. S. Warship, sitting off of israel really is right now. So, right now it really comes down to one word and that is deterrence. We just heard jeremy nash talking about this. Theres a concern about this. Especially here in the United States that this war could spread into a regional conflict. That it could simply move outside of the borders of israel, and that is the real message that the u. S. Is sending with the aircraft Carrier Strike. And it also has destroyers, a cruiser, and now, the mediterranean with the associated ships with. It in addition to that, the u. S. Also set forward attacking Fighter Aircraft reconnaissance aircraft. So, this is all about ensuring that anyone who might be considered in any group or a nation, who might be considering going in and trying to help hamas, the administration continues to follow one word that the half of them is, dont, tom . Lets speak about hamas now in this impending Ground Invasion that could happen at every moment. We kept hearing at these tunnels, i know we have videos to show our viewers about, how hamas operates underneath gaza. They have a section in the entire city, sort of like during vietnam and we know that during that time people had to go in there, essentially with the 45 and a flashlight and tried to fight it out in the tunnels. How has time changed and is that type of warfare essentially the same except in an urban environment . It is similar, so now theres some Surveillance Capability that will give the israelis, with support from other nations within the u. S. A little bit of a better picture of what might be underneath those tunnels but it is still an extremely murky picture and then when you add to that the fact that there are hostages, civilians that may have been taken down into those tunnels, that may be spread out through this enormous, Massive Network of tunnels thats all underneath gaza, that only complicates the factor and in addition to that theres also the complicated factor of concerns, according to u. S. Officials that weve been speaking with that some of the hamas fighters may have already tried to flee through the tunnels, maybe even taking some of those hostages with them, tom . All right, courtney qb with us, courtney we appreciate that. Im going to send it back to new york. All right tom thank you there are around five or 600 americans citizens still in gaza tonight according to the State Department and that includes the daughter of our next guest in her name is emily russian burger. Her family was visiting gaza when the war erupted. Emily was born in the u. S. And her five children are u. S. Citizens. To her husband is a british citizen and her father joins me now. Good to see you. Again you and i first spoke on thursday and you were really worried. I know that its been hard to reach emily this weekend. But i understand, i know you are able to talk to her this morning. How are they all doing . Theyre doing quite well, under the circumstances my daughter is quite forceful, focused if you will. And keeping my five grandkids under control is a whole job. But shes very optimistic. And they have been through the rough aborting in the past when they delivered her husband when they delivered so i think she knows what shes getting into and its just whether they open up the border. And on, i know that they were there to visit her husbands family as you said they have an olive farm and theyve been moving a lot within gaza for the last few days and you told us that theyre now staying in a three bedroom apartment with 31 people in it. What are her biggest concerns as she waits to try to get out of gaza of potentially tomorrow . She shared with me that she had a blackout for 36 or 38 hours. We couldnt connect with her and we just spoke with her the first time for about 20 minutes. Our greatest concern is the rockets. There is not Street Fighting going on in the southern end of gaza. Theyre very close to the border and they are more concerned about the bracket and we went one night without any rocket and i think that wouldve been friday night. But saturday, her last, night if you will there were two rocket hits on the building within her areas, she said. And of course they still felt the concussion. She knows that they have to be somewhere. Her biggest safety concern, at this point in time is an arab rocket but they did say that were not having the fighting in the south that theyre having. Yes, its different in the south. I know palestinian officials, as weve said, said the rafah crossing, the only way out right now will open tomorrow morning and you told us your daughters family waited ten hours that other day when they went. What else did she say about that experience and is she planning to go tomorrow . Well she will be there tomorrow, i promise. But the first day that they said it was open from noon to five. So they were in queue at seven a. M. And of, course over the course in the day, the Boyer Crossing did not open. But she said that it wasnt necessarily chaotic but it was crowded and people were kind. They were generous to each other. And that fortunately, there were a lot of kids. And there were canadians, there were french, there were other uk foreign nationals. They connected with, they talked with and the kids got to play with, believe it or not it was quite warm to say the least, as it is in gaza. But what shes worried about, if they dont carried out soon is the wave of refugees coming from the north can just overwhelm the area. So were getting word, as i talk to you a little bit earlier today, we are getting word that theyre going to open up tomorrow. Earlier, i think the set at nine. And that foreign nationals are going to be the first ones out, god bless. As much as i want the americans, my daughter, and my grandkids out. Were happy to hear that theyre going to let the british, the canadians, the french and the germans out. Because so many people found themselves in gaza, as humanitarian workers. For any third, fourth generation family. So were keeping our fingers crossed the same. Et cetera, et cetera. John, i know as a grandpa you told me that your daughter is telling you not to worry. But guests are little worried right now. She said that, its not as bad as you think. Tell mom to relax. Right, but thats hard. Listen we will keep you in our thoughts, and hope that she and the family get out safely. John, thank you so much. Thank you very much. We are back in a moment with a look at the stunning Arsenal Hamas left behind after its attack on israel. But first, as we go to break, the voices of this war. Everyone i know has had people that they know identified as among the killed, taken hostage we all im thinking about is my family and how im going to move to a safe place. To a safe place from chrome to duckduckgo. Duckduckgo is a browser you download to your mobile and desktop devices. Unlike chrome, the Duckduckgo Browser has privacy builtin. Here, a terrorist fires a rocket propelled grenade, we saw dozens of the same weapon today at an Israeli Military base. Were arms were covered from hamas fighters were being analyzed. Rockets, minds, shoulder fired antiaircraft missiles and a magnetic bomb that sticks to the side of a tank. We brought around 2000 terrorist in here. With hundreds of vehicles. This is really major spoke with us on the condition we do not use his name. Does any of this indicate the direct involvement of iran . Not yet. Most of the ammunition that you see here is a local production of hamas. Despite israels strict blockade, this hamas video shows it still makes weapons inside gaza at factories like this. This is a thermobaric bomb, which creates heat instantly up to 3000 degrees celsius. The Israeli Military says Hamas Terrorists see this to incinerate entire families. For all the weapons, hamas is badly outgunned. And, it has no answer to israels overwhelming air power. On the ground in gaza, to have a whole field advantage. And designed to allow them to pop out and israeli troops. A looming battle that promises to be brutal. [sound of artillery] and it uses socalled Bunker Cluster Bombs to try to take them out from the air. But some of these tunnels are hundred feet deep and very difficult to destroy. Tom . Eyes are also on the border of lemon, on the Foreign Correspondent joins us now live from that region that there have been clashes between the idea on israels northern border, walk our viewers through what happens. If it does enter this for. Yes, well, Tom What We Saw today was antitech missiles, from the lebanese size, were sending, now over the border which is just over that bridge over there towards the israelis killed according to the idea, and now this book ends a week over deadly fighting and its been on the kind of the summer all week long but all it takes, as you mentioned, is for someone to take more of a bigger step, and the whole thing could very easily boil over. Because weve seen them on this border, for most of the past week, and the good, this is a tense border for the very, very long time. Its the dominant force, here in southern lebanon. And like hamas, they are backed by iran. Their militant, and political group. They have the ability to muscle up, and put up a big resistance, against israel. An attack them on the offense, which theyve done in the past. And they can do that for days, weeks, months at a time. And thats why this makes this situation, so incredibly volatile. Tom . Still, with resources cut off, and Gas Infrastructure flattened unlikely the most vulnerable there will be able to escape israels new offensive. Nbc Foreign Correspondent, Richard Engel reports from palestinians note that time is running out to escape north and gaza. And that once, israeli troops invade to fight hamas here. The Israeli Military today said its its in carrying out the strike, and Accused Hamas of planting a bomb on the road to frighten civilians in Northern Gaza to stay so they could be human shields. The attack was not conducted by the idf. It appears hamas once again has sacrificed the people of gaza forts diabolical aims. The Israeli Military released an image of what it says is a hamas roadblock and many in gaza do not support hamas. But people appear to be rallying around the group, as israeli airstrikes kill the militants and civilians around them. Today, palestinian medical workers gather 100 bodies. Written on the bags is the word unknown. And identify the victims about to be buried in mass graves. The horrors of war in the middle east with its terrorism in Human Tragedies have come roaring back. I may soon get far worse the pace of people moving south today did increase. Of the roughly 1. 1 Million People that live in Northern Gaza, around 600,000 Him Usta The Southern Part of the gaza strip. Tom . So many in that zone where the war has started. The u. S. Has been actively working to make sure this conflict is not expand to other parts of the region. In an interview today with nbc s hamas representative in iran was asked about the possibility of whether hamas could get involved if israeli troops entered gaza. Heres what he said. I dont know about hezbollah but the Iranian Foreign minister United Nations speech have said we will not allow this thing to continue, the killing of the palestinians. And he warned the israelis on that if they do this incursion or landed vance minutes of the forces, that will not be good news for them. He also warned that other countries supported by iran carefully watching events and ready to react based on what happens. I will send it back to you in new york for, now kate. A senior u. S. Official confirms that israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has invited President Biden to travel to israel, on that the white house is considering that request. Joining us now is gabe gutierrez, senior white house correspondent. Gabe, what is the latest on getting americans out of the war zone . , kate the first of the biden ministrations Charter Flights to get americans out of israel has landed an offense and a ship is expected to depart from an Israeli Port To Cypress tomorrow. The white house isnt hourbyhour discussions with these counterparts to try to secure the safe release of u. S. Hostages in gaza. In an interview just aired on cbs 60 minutes, biden was asked about how to prevent casualties there. Are you asking israel to establish a humanitarian corridor in that area or get humanitarian supplies . Our team is talking about that and whether there can be a safes own were also talking to the egyptians whether there is an outlet to get to these children and women out into out of that area at this moment. But it is hard. You would like to see a humanitarian corridor that allows the 2 million causes out of the area. Yes. You would like to see humanitarian supplies brought into gaza . Yes. So you do not agree with the israeli total siege of the gaza strip . I am confident that israel is going to act on the rules of war. The president says an Israeli Occupation of gaza would be a big mistake. He also reiterated that so far, theres no clear weapons on the mass attack. The administration has called iran broadly complicit to informing hamas for years. The u. S. Has now sent to Carrier Strike groups to the region, i have a lot and other enemies of israel. Right now theyre downplaying the possibility of any american boots on the ground. Continue for c u. S. Troops in the combat in this new middle east war . I dont think thats necessary. Israel has one of the finest fighting forces. I guarantee were gonna provide them everything they need. Secretary of state Antony Blinken is expected back in israel tomorrow. As you, mentioned. Kate according to a u. S. Official the white house is now considering whether the president himself might go at some point, after an invitation from Prime Minister netanyahu. Gabe terrace of the white house. Lets go back to tom giannis in tel aviv. Tom. Kate, thank you. At this hour the aussie Department Says 13 americans are still missing. And we know at least some of them have been taken hostage by hamas. Pressure is going on the American Government to rescue any americans being held by hamas, and evacuate those that are still trapped in israel. Join us live right now in this hour, for more on how the u. S. May be able to get americans in harms way back home. I want to bring in p. J. Crowley, former assistant secretary for Public Affairs at the State Department, during the obama administration. , pichai thank you so much for being here tonight. I want to start with, ive spoken to these. Families they are israeli american, theyve lost their loved ones. They are somewhere in gaza, likely underground. Possibly being tortured right now. Is there any chance at all that american troops will help rescue those americans . Tom, thats always an option i think that these states will pursue diplomacy first. We dont have relationships with hamas but other countries have channels of communication with them and i am sure that countries like qatar, egypt and others are communicating with hamas to try to determine where and who they have, what their terms might be. At the same time we are directing intelligence assets trying to figure out who holds americans and other citizens and where are they we obviously have to know that kind of information and try to figure out if any military option is indefeasible. Petry is there any leverage here . I was speaking with a spokesperson for the idf earlier in the last hour and he told me there is no negotiations with hamas. My question to you as what type of leverage does the International Community have . Does hamas care about money . Do they care about Prisoner Swaps . Ours is simply going to be a Rescue Mission . Sadly, hostages have value while they are alive and obviously for a group like hamas the question is, what do they want . And we may well be that they are using hostages to try to put boundaries around to the upcoming Israeli Military operation. They might look at how to trade hostages for certain kinds of humanitarian assistance. Things i think we can and will be doing anyway but hamas may not be the only Group Holding hostages so this is very difficult to explain or try to figure out. Where they are, who holds, them and what the terms of the deal might be. P. J. , how much does the rafah Border Crossing concerning right now . Its going to reopen, its the only place that some palestinians will be able to escape out of gaza, namely Palestinian Americans. I ask you about the concern because it is the only way out. Its the only fray to come in. Remember when the ukraine war broke out i was on the polish border. Ill never forget what i saw. There, man women and children, trying to push through the border gates to get to safety. This was days after the war. There were various Border Crossings in ukraine. Here there is only one right now. What is going to happen in a few hours . I think in the short term. The complexity here is, in most crises there is an American Embassy there to try to organize some sort of orderly evacuation. We dont have any boots on the ground on the gaza side of the fence. Obviously Secretary Blinken has been in the region, here is a good conversation with the egyptians today and hell have a conversation with the israelis tomorrow. And they are trying to establish this humanitarian corridor which can be a mechanism to get aid into gaza and people out of gaza. But its going to take some time for that to operate the way that you want tickets to. So i do think will of assets on the egyptian side, which can be helpful here. The dilemma is the people have to get from where they are in gaza to that rafah crossing to be able to be in a position to be rescued. We will know soon. P. J. Crowley first. P. J. , we appreciate all your analysis. Ever seen american sort of danger in the region, supporting israel our priorities for the Biden Administration. Four highranking senators on both sides of the. Ill i want to continue my conversation from tel aviv today with senators Chuck Schumer and mitt romney, about israels battle against hamas. Senator schumer, when you get off that plane was the first thing you want to tell israels leaders . I wanted to tell the leaders, we have your back during these awful times. With one of the worst Terrorist Instances that weve ever seen. We wanted the israeli people to know the american stand with them. We understand their pain. We understand there needs to make sure they eliminate the threat from hamas once and for all. So you can make sure that hamas never came and rear its ugly head again. And of the hostages are free. What is your understanding of how the u. S. Can help in any way to free this american hostages . We are working very hard through many different channels. It wouldnt be appropriate to go into them. Here to put pressure on hamas to release the hostages. Youve seen the photos of a Terrorist Attack that happened here a week ago. What did you think . My stomach is wrenched. To see the viciousness, they brutality, of hamas was just devastating. One other thing. We experience what life is like even here in tel aviv, about 20 of us including all six senators had to be heard into a shelter. Because there were missile talks this afternoon, thank god theres them hit. Have you seen images out of gaza and what was your message to israel on somehow defending itself, Illuminating Hamas and trying to save as many lives as they can . Civilian lives . The messages is a difficult task, but well give you whatever you need to achieve. It we met with a defense minister. There was a long list of things they need. As leader of the senate, im going to really package on the senate floor asap to get israel what it needs. And we will have five partisan support. Arriving in the country and immediately have to go to a shelter . In the Subtlety Alarms went off and so take shelter, and we all rushed into a room which is secure and took shelter. What are your thoughts . You saw the images of what happened in israel . The attack more than a week ago . When you think you saw that . Were talking about babies being kidnapped . It is a level of depravity you havent seen from humanity since the middle ages. It is the nature of whats happening in this group, hamas. And tara groups like them. What was your message to the israeli . Leaders what you want to tell them . We want to tell them that we were with them. They expressed concern about civilian lives and gaza . And where the israeli second to that . The israelis came out this pretty aggressively and said we cannot do revenge, by this really hamas it is killing both jews and palestinians because hamas is using their civilians as human shields. And preventing them from going to safe places. Hamas is really a perpetrator of horror of both sides. You will meet with the families of these peoples who have lost Family Members, Family Members and hostages. You are a man of faith, just a different. Faith when youre going to tell them . Well do everything we can to help return a lot. Once everything humanly possible. Do you think there is hope to Rescue American hostages . Of course there, is thats why they were. Grab tomas wants to see if they cant get something. Hopefully they still have the capacity to free those people. I understand the people of qatar are doing their very best to facilitate that process. My conversations with senators mitt romney and Chuck Schumer from earlier today. When we come back, where will the palestinians go with orders to leave gaza . Finding an escape route is nearly impossible. Well take a closer look, Plus The Voices Of War from both sides. I am sorry for the but they must understand theyre being terrorized by hamas. Its actually very old, from year to year, from here to here. There is a hard line. Wayfair has nice prices, so you can have nice things. Um kelly . We have champagne taste. On a hard seltzer budget. Wayfairs got just what you need what. Yall this is nice. Salad plates . Kelly clarkson . Im fancy now i have always wanted statement lighting. Get nice things at nice prices at wayfair wayfair, youve got just what i need cmon, were right there. Cmon baby. Its the only we need. Go, go, go, go ah Touchdown Baby touchdown are your neighbors watching the same game . Yeah, my 5g Home Internet delays the game a bit. But you get used to it. Try these. Theyre noise cancelling earmuffs. I stole them from an airport. Its always something with you, man. Great solid greek salad . Exactly dont delay the game with verizon or tmobile 5g welcome back to our special Home Internet. Catch it on the xfinity 10g network. Report on the war between israel and hamas. I am kate snow in the new york. Tonight, many palestinians are facing an unthinkable decision. Leave their homes behind, not sure where theyll and. Up or risk their lives because by staying where they are. Joining us now is bobby, gauche Bloomberg Opinion columnist covering foreign affairs. Nice to have you with, us thank you. I want to ask first about what we have been talking about all night. The rafah gate in Southern Gaza is the only way out. Hours from, now about five hours from now, it might open for people to top foreign passports only. What is that going to look like . How do people even get there . If you remember the exodus from afghanistan last year when thousands and thousands of afghans who are trying to get out of one airport, we all remember the scenes of pandemonium. I fear something similar will happen. We are saying only people with foreign passports can come through there. But how you keep others away from approaching that same gates . How do you keep women and children who are desperate to get out . How do you keep them . You cant fire on people, how do you to help control in the middle of a pandemic . If you look at the whole of the gaza strip, they are telling people from the north all to come down to that one spot, raffa. Its not just that there are two roads. It is a war zone. The bombs going off, they have to worry about not only death from the skies but also from the ground. They have to worry about hamas preventing him from moving forward. Hamas needs human shields. That has been a part of their operational procedure forever and ever. They will not be happy to just let people leave, no matter what they say. People are running through two different kinds of threats from the ground in from the air. So lets say hypothetically a whole bunch of Palestinian Civilians to make their way to rafah. And can get out. Does egypt wrong to them there . Where do they ultimately end up . Thats a very difficult question to answer. First of all of her palestinians are going to want to leave. Because they are afraid if they do leave they will never be allowed back. Its their home, the dissent, many of these people, are descended from refugees back to their old villages. That remains in the memory. They dont necessarily want to leave. Those who do want to leave, egypt is the closest place. Egypt does not historically wanted to do that. The people here represent a security danger. Would have hamas soldiers come in with them . They also say, egypt, says they cant afford it. And if you bring the palestinians out it lets israel off the hook. They do not have to solve this problem if the palestinians just leave. But is also generally the view of the golf era of states. Saudi arabia and qatar and and god knows they have got space, but they too dont want the palestinian refugees. Officially line there is the same thing. Once the palestinians are, out israelis would not want them back in. Then there is no direct routes to jordan because of the israeli siege. Jordan is already a small country, they already have nearly 1 million refugees from other places, mainly syria. They are already at the sort of limit of their capacity. Remember about 60 of the population of jordan are people of palestinian or should already. So not a lot more space for people. What about if they were to get up and gets to egypt, could they fly somewhere else . What about the u. S. Or the European Union taking in palestinians . The European Union and to some degree the u. S. Has expressed sympathy for these people. The question is do we put our money where our mouth is . Do allow them into our homes and our home learns the way europeans dudes with ukrainians . There does not seem to be any appetite for that. There is, i get in the official excuses are we have too many refugees right now. We cant deal with more. There is again the risk that if you will allow these refugees, what have some hamas people come in and make trouble in our lands. The tragedy for the Palestinian People here is that the people of gaza, is that the kids leave and if they could leave nobody wants them. There is nowhere for them to go. Thank you for doing that explainer for us for helping us understand. Well be back in a moment with the life and death decisions in the war. A snapshot of the challenges and the heartbreak of those are both sides of the border trying to save lives while at war. Dr. Sarah, as surgeon had the largest medical facility in gaza is updating the world since hamass deadly terror attack, and his rules, response. Neither has the orthopedic surgeon, armand henri lubov ski. Barely sevens milos away at a hospital on the other side, shows me empty Hospital Floors after two hamas rocket strikes. We know it is a very strong building. When you days, busy the pediatric departments, crepes and pets empty now. All the childrens motown stairs because the risk of being hit by another missile is simply too high. There is no empty space where doctor all saka works. As the casualties of a relentless Bombing Campaign keep pouring in. It makes for a surreal split screen. Doctors on both sides, lies in their hands. But the future not. We wanted to evacuate the hospital but all our patients because we have to be prepared for another wave of victims. Most of the hospitals patients now and floors underground, for safety. Coming in this direction. Yeah, you can see the same, this has come from this direction. So there will be an alarm now, we have to run because of a sales could hit these windows, that has happened at the other hospitals. The scene at this hospital in israel is a far cry from the one in the gaza. Two hospitals, one war. Bound by the same duty. We are working out that gaza is in that direction. Welcome back to our nbc news Special Report on the war in israel and hamas. I am kate snow in new york. The head of the fbi has a new warning tonight about an increase in threats across the u. S. It comes as the divisions at the heart of war are fueling global tensions. As jesse carsh reports, there is also been a new wave of antisemitism. Far from the frontlines in the middle east, tonight america 30s run alert. There is no question we are seeing an increase in reported threats and we have got to be on the lookout. Especially the lone actors who may take inspiration from recent events to commit violence of their own. The fbi warning comes as people are demonstrating solidarity with israelis and palestinians worldwide. Groups to resist youd have a solid saying austin, texas today. Hundreds gathered at the Texas State Capital today rallying in support of israel. Right afterwards, and larger crowd gathered for a pro palestinian rally, just two of many happening across the country. Over the past week weve heard calls for peace. But weve also heard chants like this. Right side of australias sydney opera house, in a pro palestinian crowd monday, some called for genocidal tactics the knots is used as they murdered 6 million jews. In berlin, germany according to combat antisemitism, some jewish homes were marked with Stars Of David this weekend. And in california on wednesday, someone waved a Novelty Swastika flag. I have been hearing a ton of not just israelis are bad but jews are bad. And that is really scary. Hamass attack is one of the deadliest attacks on jews since the holocaust. In the weeks since the Anti Defamation League reported instances of antisemitic has spiked year every year. We know the jewish individuals and institutions regularly are targeted victimized by people who collectively blame the jews, if you will, for what is happening in the middle east. Among the adls concern some demonstrators are Denouncing Zionism which is defined by the adls the movement for the south to Self Determination and statehood of the jewish people in their ancestral homeland. It is a prelude to. Genocide a conditions people to see jesus objects, to see jews a sub humans. We are in support of our jewish brothers and. Sisters but we cannot accept a state like the state of israel that has a religious and ethnic apartheid. Some rhetoric has explicitly justified antisemitism, just like racism, is there. What we have done in this country is allowed voices that used to be quiet to speak. This was his passport. Thats what happens when hate speech could slather. He says both his parents were jews who escaped not see germany. We have to stand up and we have to say, this is not a place for hate. Warnings for history still relevant today. Jesse, kershaw nbc news. For more on the Security Situation i want to bring in tom winter. Tom, you heard the fbi director statement in this piece about the real threats. How real are these threats . What are they looking at . Thats exactly what the Law Enforcement in joint Terrorism Task force are focused. Our number one, is this individual capable of doing the types of things that they might be talking about are mine. Talking to friends about how credible is this individual, they may go and visit. Theres gonna be a lot more Law Enforcement investigative steps to address this point. As the threats wise. Anybody who has had a whiff on the of the agent over the past several days knows the rhetoric is so strong on this issue. So theyre definitely focused on this and trying to determine whether bunny at these people have tip trip to the wire need to be arrested. I want to talk about something that we learned about tonight. A gruesome example of the kind of violence we are talking about. Police sent a sixyearold boy and his mother, muslim americans, were stabbed multiple times by their landlords. And the boy died. What do we know . The reason we are talking about, this kate, is authorities allege that this man, their target charging him with murder in the first three, he says his reason for attacking these two individuals was because they were muslim and because of the ongoing hostilities and tensions in the middle east, the conflict with hamas and israel. He stabbed the, mother whos expected to survive. Shes 32 years. All police say he stabbed the sixyearold 26 times. And unfortunately, that child is now dead. So. Sad im sure well be hearing more about. That i want to go back to that Staggering Number in the piece about from the Anti Defamation League saying when you compare right now to a year ago, antisemitic incidents talking to a lot of horsemen agencies, what are they gonna do about .
