Through southern california. Dozens of homes, even a Ski Resort destroyed as the flames forced thousands to evacuate. And francines fury, the storm swamping the gulf coast, flooding roads, forcing rescues, and the threat is not over for 14 Million people in its path. Our Nbc News reporters are following the latest developments. We begin with nbcs Mike Memoli in charlotte, north carolina, where the Vice President will kick off this new phase of her campaign. What are we expecting there, mike . Reporter well, chris, charlotte is a nascar town. And the way the campaign describes it she has been Revving Up for the past weeks, now she has to shift into gear. She had to choose a running mate, introduce themselves before the convention, and we know how much she prepared for the debate on tuesday. Now, because they view the debate as a huge success, they want to double down on the message she brought to the debate stage, talking about the need to change the pace, not look back to the trump administration, and embrace her optimistic vision for the future of the country. Were going to see her on the trail in charlotte in just a few hours, on to greensboro, multiple stops in pennsylvania as well. You can hear from the noise in the room, the level of energy, the level of enthusiasm. It was something i picked up on talking to voters as we were waiting to get into this arena. Take a listen to some of the conversations i had before. Its our turn now. Its womens turn, and shes going to be it. And its going to be wonderful. I just wanted to come for a little bit of the excitement and see and hear more. This is my daughters first time voting, and so [ applause ]. And i was like, what an experience. So we had to be here. The whole idea that, you know, that were moving forward together and just Hope And Joy and unity, and i wanted to be a part of it. Reporter chris, i was just talking a few moments ago to a volunteer for the campaign who said when she was knocking on doors, yes, they would vote for joe biden. They werent enthusiastic about it. Not only am i voting for Kamala Harris, im bringing my friends to the poles, signing up for Volunteer Shifts. Its that momentum democrats are optimistic about, especially when it comes to winning a state like north carolina, a tipping point state, that could take away from Donald Trump. Chris. Mike memoli, Thank You. With a deadline looming, House Speaker Mike Johnson is facing a critical decision about how to weigh a possible Government Shutdown against the demands of Donald Trump. Nbcs Ali Vitali is reporting from Capitol Hill for us. Walk us through whats happening there, and how long congress has to figure it out. Well, look, they are on a deadline. That tends to work well up here, chris. Theyve got just shy of three weeks, and i got to tell you, three weeks can sometimes feel like three years, especially when youre watching the government try to avert a government shut down. What were watching is speaker Mike Johnson get squeezed by members of his conference. He put forth a plan before members came back to town after a lengthy Summer Recess where he said he was going to fund the government for six months, up to march 2025, and he would also be including the Save Act, a republican Election Integrity Bill that they say stops noncitizens from voting. Again, we should point out as we often do, thats already illegal, nevertheless, it is a priority for conservative republicans and for former president Donald Trump who has signalled he would in his words in a Heart Beat shut the government down to keep the Save Act in the conversation. Heres what Speaker Johnson said about the debacle he found himself in, his own members dont have sufficient volts for it but also unable to make changes because he could earn the ire of the president. Listen. Were working through all the options but we are fiercely committed to the Save Act. Well see. Well have more conversations through the weekend. Thats how the process works. The only path forward is a bipartisan one, and im hopeful that house republican leadership and traditional republicans will reach that conclusion sooner rather than later so we can get the job done. So you heard there from the top democrat on the house side, Hakeem Jeffries saying the only solution is a bipartisan one. Hes probably right but its not looking like its going to be bipartisan if republicans in the house continue with the method and the plan that they are currently working on, which, again, is a sixmonth Continuing Resolution with the Save Act. Its not going to work on the house side, and its definitely not going to work on the senate side, leaving them having to come up with Something Else. Well see what that is. Chris. Ali vitali, Thank You. Now to california where fast moving wildfires have consumed 100,000 acres and injured more than a dozen people. Nbcs Morgan Chesky is reporting from san bernardino county. Morgan, we have seen some incredible images of the damage. Obviously some of that is behind you. Whats the latest . Reporter chris, you smell the smoke from miles and miles away, and then you arrive here on the scene to just a heartbreaking image after another. This home here outside of wrightwood, california, one of several that was incinerated about 48 hours ago, thats when these flames really took off overnight, forcing evacuations, and you can see the charred remnants of whats been left behind. This vehicle just absolutely incinerated. Fortunately, if there is any good news at all, chris, it is that there have been no reported fatalities. Evacuations did work as planned, and crews have been on this fire 24 7, cutting new line, making water drops as needed to try to contain this now more than 50,000 acre blaze. The largest in the state that still sits at 0 contained. Meanwhile, we have another Fire Burning in orange county, the airport fire. That is merely 8 contained and were still following the latest on the Line Fire. Chris, we go back a week ago, the Line Fine was the focus of the fire fighting efforts. We have now learned that authorities are planning to announce charges against one man they say was not only the cause, the potential cause of the Line Fire that burned thousands of acres, but he might also be tied to multiple other fires as well. Those arson charges, about to be announced at a Press Conference in san bernardino starting any minute now. Well be keeping a close eye on that. In the meantime, though, evacuations still in place here in wrightwood, california, where the damage is just heartbreaking. Chris . Yeah, we just saw a picture that just started that Press Conference. Well keep our eye on it. As we get more information, well let folks know. Morgan chesky, Thank You for that. Millions under the gulf coast, francine roared. I know, steven, this storm posts a number of Flood Rescues in the region. Whats the latest where you are . Reporter yeah, chris, youre absolutely right, we are in Gulf Port right now, where the Heavy Rain has moved out. We are still getting some wind gusts here from francine. But now people in the northern part of mississippi are dealing with Power Outages and those Flood Threats remain there, and those Flood Rescues in new orleans, the National Guard was out to try to help with that situation last night. Some of the Pumping Stations that weve heard so much about in the past 20 years, since katrina there, they did have some issues with those, causing some of the water to back up there. Those Flood Rescues, that was happening. People were driving into Flood Waters and having to be rescued out of their vehicles. A difficult situation, and another situation that is still ongoing, kenner, a suburb of new orleans, one of the areas dealing with their Sewer System that is backed up, unindated inundated. Meanwhile, Power Outages throughout the region. Its not something you want. You want to be able to use that ac, people are out there trying to assess the damage that is left behind from the storm. We know some roofs were damaged. Buildings, homes, people are still trying to figure out exactly what theyre dealing with. Its not that long. 2021, people are still dealing with insurance claims from that, and now they have turned around and theyre facing another round of damage, chris. Steven romo, Thank You. From alabama, after north carolinas were delayed. Today, election officials across the country are concerned that the u. S. Postal Service Isnt ready for november. In a joint, open letter, They Implore postmaster general Lewis Dejoy to take immediate action to address problems surrounding lost and delayed election mail, writing, quote, failure to do so will risk limiting Voter Participation and trust in the election process. That warning comes as we see multiple new indications of Voter Engagement suggesting turnout this year could be high. Record donations, high ratings for the debate, and a major surge in new Voter Registrations even before Pop Star Taylor swift began a Registration Push including last night. If you are over 18, please register to vote for Something Else thats very important coming up. The president ial election. I love you all so so much. Joining us now, brendan buck, former aide to House Speakers Paul Ryan and John Boehner and an msnbc political analyst. Maya rupert, former Campaign Manager for julian castro, and ben wikler, chair of the democratic party of wisconsin. Ben, its good to have you in studio. I dont need to tell you this, your state is at the center of both of these things, the push for Voter Registration, but also some problems getting things underway. I want to ask you about both. Tell me about the surge in Voter Registration in your state, tell me what youre up to . Its very exciting to see. The number i keep coming back to, the fact. In august 13th, we had our august Primary Election for the fall, and this year, compared to the august primary Election And President ial years for the last six decades had the highest voter turnout, including people same day register, chuck do in wisconsin. You dont have to register to advance. Were seeing a flood of people, folks all over the state getting involved. Volunteering for the first time, more than half of the volunteers signing up now have never volunteered before, and getting out, registering and voting. Im just going to ask you quickly, you and i were talking on the phone a couple of days ago in advance of the debate. How many volunteer hours have been served in your state . We have seen more than 50,000 people have signed up. But weve had 40,000 people complete Volunteer Shifts that are usually two or three hours long, and a lot are reregistering to come back again. Knocking on doors, joining Phone Banks and going to farmers markets, having barbecues, and ask everyone to take their phones out and contact everyone they know to sign up to volunteer and donate. That engagement is fueling a surge of energy that i think will have consequences down ballot, Tammy Baldwin for senate and the president ial. The good news is we all want as many people as possible to participate and as many people as possible to vote. Can you concerned about the warning in the letter to the postmaster general that there is a risk of Voter Participation and eroding trust. What i think is good is so many people are engaged writing that letter, working to solve these issues. We have seen over and over, these republicans attacks and going back to when trump was in office, attacks on the u. S. Postal system. What we have seen over and over again, is people overcoming those obstacles, and now in every race, where people are trying to undermine the election, tried to gain public office. People who believed in democracy won those elections. This will be a safe and secure election. It will be easy for people to cast those ballots, and the ballots will be counted. We need to earn them. Brendan, republicans have been trying to increase mailin ballots. Donald trump has long linked Absentee And Mailin balloting with fraught. He tweeted about unproven claims that mailin ballots were fraudulent. Donald trump wants every voter, no matter republican, democrat, thirdparty candidate. Why is he saying 20 are fraudulent . Hes referencing information for the 2020 election. What were talking about right now is making sure that every vote matters and every vote counts. What information do we have . What evidence is there that 20 of the mailin ballots are fraudulent . I didnt see the report, so i would have to go back and look at it. I cant directly speak to that. So, brendan, are republicans capable of changing the narrative on mailin ballots which they now at least some seem to be acknowledging are a good thing for your own candidate . Every Campaign Operative understands theyre a good thing. The first House Race i worked on many years ago, one of the first things i learned is you chase mailin ballots, you bank those votes and dont have to worry about turning them out. Donald trump has done and said a lot of selfdestructive things over the years. This is near the top of the list. Telling your voters not to use mailin votes is, without question, costing you votes on election day. For whatever reason, people dont show up, things happen, and youre losing votes. Everyone has tried to convince him otherwise. Kevin mccarthy tried to convince him otherwise, Mitch Mcconnell tried to convince him otherwise. He has been convinced he has been hurting himself by doing this. He has such a large megaphone, his daughterinlaw telling people its okay is not going to do the trick. Its all part of the conspiracy to overturn peoples votes. Michigan Secretary Of State spoke to msnbc about threats that Election Workers face amid all of this. Heres what they said about it. It is chilling, frankly, to know that powerful individuals with great mega phones, former President Of The United States would use that platform. His ambitions for simply doing our jobs. These threats are not threats to us. Theyre threats to the american people. Theyre threats to the will of the voters and our democracy itself. So maya, how do you reassure voters about the process when not only do you have a lot of people denying that its safe. You have Election Workers who are scared, and theres also been i did a quick google of Election Workers now state after state after state theyre having trouble getting people to work at election sites because of their worry that they are not safe. And theyre saying there could be long lines. You add a lack of Election Workers to what may be record registration drives. Where does that leave you . I think, i mean, its right to sound the alarm because this is this is a situation where people are afraid to work the election. People are going to be dealing with, just as you said, long lines, couples with, you know, the sort of heightened fear. I think we have to do a few things. One, i think we have to remind people to stay in line, that its worth it. I think there need to be voices across the board, countering what Donald Trump is saying. I think we need, you know, obviously democratic voices, but i think it would be really really valuable right now to hear from republicans who deeply disagree with Donald Trump, making sure people do understand that the integrity of mailin ballots is safe. They can use them, and countering this narrative so people arent afraid. The idea that we have people who would volunteer to work at elections who are now being threatened . That goes to the heart of who we are, and people should be saying very very loudly that thats not acceptable, thats not okay, and i think we also just need to make sure that people are getting the message that we cant expect to get an answer on the Night Of the election. We have to let these processes play out to make sure that peoples votes are counted, and that means that unfortunately, you know, were going to be staying up, watching election results, and some of these will not be decided Night Of, and we just need to prepare people for that. Otherwise, you get in the situation where people are demanding something that cannot be given to them immediately, and we need to make sure every vote gets counts. Brandon, democrats have an advantage, a new one. The name is Taylor Swift, helping them drive up Voter Registration. We just got a new number, right . She posted, linking to vote. Gov, 406,000. One shy of 406,000 people visited during the 24hour Period that it was live. We should note, we dont know how many of them registered or what state theyre in. That was my question, are they in Battle Ground states, but how do republicans even answer that kind of engagement . I dont know that they can. They probably need to focus on Voter Registration for a long time to catch up with something like that. You and i have talked previously about the amount of money that the Kamala Harris campaign has been able to raise. Yes, the question, what do you do with all of that money. This is the answer, this is what you do with it. You register voters, open offices, turn out people that otherwise were going to be on the sidelines. Every campaign knows who the high propensity voters are. People that come out every time. When youre able to bring people who are on the margins, first time voters, we never know what the real electorate is going to be. When you are able to shape what that electorate is going to be, thats what an effective campaign can do, and clearly thats what they have going on right here, and i think Taylor Swift in the mix certainly helps. Ben, there is a new Marquette Poll of wisconsin. Wisconsin only. It shows enthusiasm has increased among democrats. 72 say they are very enthusiastic. That obviously has the head of the party, something you like to see. Enthusiasm is one thing, we talk about this all the time. Actually getting people to the polls is the other thing. Do you have the money . Whats your relationship with the campaign, do the other candidates you were talking about have that kind of influx and is everybody sharing the infrastructure . Tell us whats going on. We all know how important wisconsin is. We have this extraordinary campaign operation. We have, at this point, more than 200 coordinated Campaign Staff that work to turn out voters. Persuade voters for every democrat on the ballot. And at the same time, were seeing a flood of dark money now running ads, Attacking Democrats in the state legislature. We definitely need more resources, and we can put them to use. Whats exciting is that, you know, sometimes youre calling people. Knocking on doors, and people dont want to engage. Now they want to engage. Really . The impact of the work is up now. Because theres so much interest, so much curiosity. Taylor swift absolutely helps. Im curious about this. I have spent, i cant tell you how many cycles going door to door with republicans, democrats, special interest groups, and i would say the number of people who actually want to talk, its a low volume number. Not everyone wants to talk, but more people do, markedly more people. I was just meeting with the leader of our State Assembly democratic caucus. Candidates are out in force across wisconsin. 97 out of the 99 assembly districts. Republicans have 84. When the candidates talk to people, they are sharing their concerns about costs. They want people who will stand up to special interests and bring costs down, and freedom, abortion and reproductive freedom. What we know is when we can communicate with voters about these issues, we can move the needle. Its a dead heat to be able to do it. Wisconsin, four of the last six president ial races have come down to less than 1 percentage point. Because of all of these new folks, we have a chance to reelect Tammy Baldwin, flip two house seats and win the State Assembly majority and break the republican State Senate super majority. Thats a lot of power in the hands of voters. Anyone that cares about any issue, its go time. Our message is dont just vote. Bring your friends to the polling place. Ben wikler, maya rupert, Thank You both. Brendan, youre going to stick around. And still to come, breaking news, a Grand Jury handing down new charges against Harvey Weinstein. Com hire we have breaking developments involving Harvey Weinstein. He has just been indicted on new Sex Crime Charges by a New York Grand Jury. He awaits a retrial in a landmark me too case after having his Rape Conviction over turned earlier this year. Joining me in studio, nbcs chloe melas, along with legal correspondent, lisa rubin. Are they part of the retrial or tell us whats going on . Lets start with are they part of the retrial. I think that issue has not yet been decided. The assistant District Attorney in charge of the case said shes prepared to have the new charges be a part of the November 12th Trial Date for Harvey Weinstein. You heard some real push back from Harvey Weinsteins lawyer saying if these are new charges, they should be dealt with in the ordinary course. He deserves the opportunity to have discovery and the full free Trial Process you would have for any new charges. As to the new charges, we know they involve three incidents from 2005, 2006 and much later in 2015 or 16. What we dont know is who they involve, much less if they involve three women or one woman. So Harvey Weinstein was not in court. He had emergency Heart Surgery, was it earlier this week, last week, i dont remember exactly. I think it was earlier this week. His lawyers have brought up his health. What can you tell us about that . So he had Heart Surgery earlier this week, chris, and hes recovering at bell view, his attorneys were talking to the Judge Today in the courtroom saying, look, he cant be here. He might not be able to be at the hearing next week, and we really want to keep him at the hospital instead of sending him back to rikers to recover. His health is in decline. I remember going to the courthouse, and he came in every day with a walker. His health was frail then, and its getting worse and worse. Now, you know, as for what we will see over the next couple of weeks, i think the biggest thing here is who are these potential women . How many women is it . And i think were going to learn a lot more this week when the indictment is unsealed. Right now, even weinsteins legal team, they dont even know what these new accusations are. Lisa and chloe, Thank You both very much. More to come. For the first time, a pilot is sharing her terrifying experience aboard that Alaska Airlines plane. Remember the one when a Door Plug blew out mid flight . First officer Emily Wyprid told Cbs News she knew something was catastrophically wrong. She recalls trying to transmit back to air traffic control, wondering why she couldnt hear anything, and not realizing her headset had been sucked out of the plane, and then she said there was the fear of thinking that passengers had been lost. The first indication was it was explosion in my ears. And then a whoosh of air. My body was forced forward. And there was a loud bang. I looked at my flight attendants, and i said are you okay. And in that response, i heard four, five empty seats and injuries. I was in shock. Disbelief. Everybody was there. She told Cbs News it was important for her to return to work after the incident. She and the captain both received honors for their Skill And Professionalism during the crisis. History was made this morning. 460 miles above the earths surface. Two Crew Members on the Polaris Dawn successfully completed the first ever commercial space walk. Its a collaboration between elon Musks Spacex and billionaire Jared Isaacman who uttered these words into space. Back at home we all have a lot of work to do, but from here, it looks like a perfect world. The big goal of the risky feat, testing out Space Suits and technology that researchers hope one day will help humans walk on mars. Tom costello is reporting on this. And mike massamino, former Astronaut And Columbia university professor. This was a dangerous mission, how did they make it work . For the first time they opened up the entire Space Craft to the vacuum of space. Thats the way they did Space Walks back in the 1960s, for example, the very first soviet and american Space Walks, but they opened the entire spacecraft of the vacuum of space, and bled out the oxygen. And they stepped out. I got to say, it was more of a stretching exercise than it was walking because they were really trying to gauge how flexible with their new Space Suits. How much Arm Maneuverability and Leg Maneuverability do they have. Because to your point, they want to eventually use this brand new Space Suit for missions to the moon and also to mars. So they dont have an Air Lock on this particular spaceship. Thats why they had to open up the entire ship. Everybody, all four astronauts had to don their Space Suits. Only two actually went out. And then they were concerned a little bit about their precise location. Theyre three times higher than the Space Station because during that entire walk and during the mission to get there, you know, Elon Musk even said, were worried about 10,000 satellites and bits of Space Debris out there and radiation from the Van Allen Radiation belts that or bit the earth so there have been a lot of variables here that they really needed to make sure that they navigated perfectly, and boy did they. Now, you may be watching at home, thinking, okay, ive seen Space Walks before, why does this matter . It matters because this is a private company that is doing this. Spacex. That has really, i think, by all, you know, everyones account, has now surpassed nasa in many ways, and certainly boeing in pushing forward new avenues and new ways to get into space. And to really kind of push the envelope, if you will. So now youve had four private citizens, four commercial astronauts, and they have now not only gone into space, but two of them on a space walk, testing out this new technology. I think this is, yet again, turning another chapter in Space Exploration going forward. This is so cool. The level of jealousy at this table, im guessing is off the charts, and that includes me. Toms a little jealous. Tom, forget it, he would go out there in a Heart Beat. How important is this . What kind new horizons could this open . I think there was somebody in the Science Journal who said this is the most exciting time in Space Flight since the 60s. Theres a lot to be excited about. This is one thing. As far as the commercial component of space travel, this is something nasa has wanted for decades, and now were coming through fruition. As tom said, this is kind of like the Space Walks they did back in the 1960s, Whats Kind of interesting for me, i was thinking about this, the first flights we had a few years ago. The sub Orbital Flights, the first flights americans took in the early 60s and Orbital Flights with private citizens, the next thing coming up, as tom said, might be looking at opportunities to go even further with people privately. Building Space Stations, private Space Stations, and then on to the moon and mars. The checkout of this Space Suit, though, goes beyond the commercial programs. I think its something that nasa would be interested in as well. Developing Space Suits that they could use on the moon and mars. The Space Suit i used in space. They still use the same Space Suit. Look at you there we are at the hubble. They have been using that one since the early 1980s. Theyre looking at new generation Space Suits, and this was a great first check of it. I literally got chills watching you do that. When ive spoken to astronauts before, i will never forget what they told me about what its like the first time youre in space, looking down at earth. Yeah. What it feels like, how it changes you. What was that like for you . Especially from the space walk. Looking through the window, the spacecraft is cool. When you get to go outside like jared and sarah got to do today, a couple of minutes like they did, you get a chance to see the earth and that with the curve of the earth, the altitude, the whole sky opens up, The Universe opens up. Whats most compelling is the earth. I just lost my thoughts, just concentrated on the view, i felt i was looking into heaven. I couldnt imagine any place being more beautiful than our planet. And you look in the other direction, and its kind of cool out there, stars and stuff, but weve checked out the neighborhood, youve got nowhere to go. You see the beauty and the fragility of it, and the other thing that struck me is everyone is down in the same place. When i think of home, i think of earth, a place we all share, in addition to a lot of work, you know, the taxpayers dollars were put to work adds we were fixing the telescope and the emotional part of it is amazing. One of the arguments when there were challenges about the budget, and should we be spending so much money on nasa, were doing all of these things that will have real world implications for making our earth a better place, whether its Curing A Disease or new technology, is that still true . Is there still an incredible place for new development in space . Absolutely. I think the international Space Station, i think, is a great example of that. Its been up there for over two decades. People have been on board continuously, changing people out for over 20 years. The discoveries they make. The research they do, basic research, whether its in physics, astro physics, looking up, down at our planet, trying to understand that. Effects on the human body. Thats been a great benefit. I think international cooperation between nasa and partners around the world, were seeing one of the big benefits that nasa has been working toward for decades, which is the stimulation of a commercial space business. So it can help our economy, and thats why i think this is so important. Its important not just for the private astronauts and spacex, also for the whole country and nasa as well. Professor mike massamino, your students are so lucky to have you. Thats so cool. Thank you. Should we do it . We have a tweet from space, a tweet from the crew, or a post on x, as they say these days. The crew tweeted, what else would they do, hello, earth, were so grateful for all the support, please enjoy two recent photos from our mission, and stay tuned for the next message. They sent it via The Star link, which of course is Elon Musk satellites, the laser light technology, which is yet another new piece of communication technology, theyre testing out right now. Tom costello, mike massamino, Thank You, guys, were all Nerding Out right here, space Nerding Out. [music playing] Donald Trumps allies are publicly airing their frustrations over his debate performance, his overall messaging and where or more accurately, who that messaging may be coming from. The latest example, a right Wing Influencer and Conspiracy Theorist named Laura Loomer who traveled with trump on his plane to tuesday eat debate and made an appearance in the spin room. Loomer who has called 9 11 an Inside Job Aaccompanied the former president to 9 11 commemorations yesterday. It takes a unique kind of vulgarity to bring a 9 11 truther to events marking the anniversary of the September 11th attacks. Nbcs Vaughn Hillyard is following the Trump Campaign on the ground in arizona. Brendan buck is back with me. You know, brendan, weve been speaking like this for a very long time. I often ask the question, when republicans have expressed concern, when theyre worried about Something Trump says, who will he listen to . Who can have his ear . Who can talk to him . Do we have the answer . We sure do, and it seems to be getting crazier and crazier. Look, i remember negotiations when i was on The Hill working for speaker ryan, and were trying to breakthrough something, and the president wanted to talk to the speaker and theres a Fox News personality, of how things go. Now were into a whole new level. We have talked a lot about how potentially this Trump Campaign is more disciplined than the previous iterations, i think we can throw that out the window. This person has a very tenuous grasp with reality, and it is clearly the type of person he wants to be surrounding himself with. At the same time, i dont want to make any excuses for Donald Trump. He has agency here. He is the person who is surrounding himself with these people. And it just reflects incredibly, not just poorly, its disturbing that you would identify and allow someone like this near your candidate or near you, and you want to be the President Of The United States. Its outrageous, but, you know, its easy to just sort of roll your eyes at this and go, this is another day with Donald Trump. It is on its face, just absolutely ludicrous. You were covering New York yesterday. Give us a background on Laura Loomer and how she fits into The Big Picture of who does have his ear and what hes choosing to focus on . Reporter it was something to be hold, the fact that Laura Loomer was at the 9 11 ceremonies in New York but in pennsylvania because we knew that she was on the plane with him to philadelphia at the debate, but at that point in time, lets be very clear, you could argue that shes americas preeminent Conspiracy Theorist. I did not know she was a 9 11 truther. As soon as i saw her at the events in New York, i found out, in fact, Shes Somebody who last year posted about 9 11 being an inside job. Shes also very incendiary, outside of the Conspiracy Theories, she called a Member Of Congress who spoke from the stage, ghetto, when Tim Walz was speaking about his Familys Fertility issues, she posted, your daughter was a mistake. Nobody cares about your fertility issues. Its a meanness and incendiary, derogative, racist, xenophobic remarks that she has a penchant to make on almost a daily basis that i think has raised concerns among trump allies over the course of the last year, and even the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene who has called her mentally unstable, and somebody that hurts the reputation of maga and Donald Trump. As to Donald Trumps debate performance, chris, i think we have a Sound Bite from somebody that i talked to just outside of this event here in tucson, where hes supposed to speak soon about how he performed and ill just let you her name is crimson, ill let you hear her own analysis. Take a listen. What did you think about Donald Trumps performance . It wasnt my favorite of his performances. Im a huge Donald Trump supporter. Clearly going to vote for him. I think he referred back to the border of it too much, instead of moving forward with some of the questions. We care about the border, but i think that looked bad on him, and of course the dog eating the dogs up north looked bad on him. But other than that, i thought he did okay. So, chris, these were a few conversations of its not just, you know, republican operatives or allies who had concerns or the likes of robert f. Kennedy jr. About Donald Trumps ability to debate and win over voters, but some of his own supporters who wish he had had a more focused message, particularly focused on ideas of the economy and the housing crisis, which is how the campaign billed this afternoons event. Well see how Donald Trump on the western campaign swing, ultimately, the words that come out of his mouth from stages like this, hell be in Battleground Nevada Tomorrow night, chris. We just talked about Marjorie Taylor Greene, she has overall been criticizing trump vance messaging. This is her today. And i think that we need to be focused on our policies, the inflation, the economy, the border, and not attacking people for their race, not attacking them because they may not have children and they love their pets, and i dont want to have anything to do with that. So i wonder if youve lost even Marjorie Taylor Greene is that a sign your messaging may be off . I mean, yeah. I think what you have here is a Trump Someone whos a little jealous that she was not on the plane. I have a hard time taking her seriously. I dont want to give her credit for being The Voice Of Reason in the republican party, because shes no stranger to Conspiracy Theories herself. Put her aside, the woman outside the event being concerned about trump talking about people eating dogs, you wonder how that gets in his head when hes literally flying to the debate with a Conspiracy Theorist. Things arent going to get better if this is the people who are surrounding him. But the fact that this is a conversation that the republican party is having less than two months before an election is a really depressing sign for where we have come.
