Jeff Burton Leads Every Lap (2000)
Following the tragic deaths of Adam Petty and Kenny Irwin Jr. at New Hampshire earlier in the year, NASCAR announced that restrictor plates would be put on the Busch North and Cup Series cars to prevent similar high-speed accidents from unfolding.
The decrease in horsepower prevented drivers from making many passes throughout the day but Jeff Burton made an important one by passing polesitter Bobby Labonte on the opening lap to lead wire-to-wire; a feat that has not been duplicated in the Cup Series since.
