New Bedford woman killed in Dartmouth New Year's Eve crash

DARTMOUTH — A New Bedford pedestrian was killed in a crash New Year's Eve, according to Dartmouth Police.
On Thursday, Dec. 31, at approximately 9:55 p.m., Dartmouth Police, along with other emergency personnel, responded to the area of 597 State Road, after receiving several calls that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed that a female pedestrian, identified as Wendy Tolley, 56, of New Bedford, had been struck by a 2006 Toyota Prius, being operated by a 24-year-old Dartmouth woman. Though emergency care was rendered to Tolley, she died as a result of her injuries.
