NEW YORK, NY – The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is increasing security at NYC area airports in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack at Istanbul Ataturk Airport in Turkey.
“High visibility patrols equipped with tactical weapons and equipment” were added at John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport, LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty Airport, the Port Authority said in a statement.
“The agency continues to monitor the situation in Turkey and is collaborating with federal, state and local law enforcement partners to include the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.”
