WORCESTER — The state opened two more mass vaccination sites this week, creating a grand total of six mass locations, but Central Massachusetts does not have a site of that large-scale designation.
A vaccination site at Worcester State University's Wellness Center opened earlier this month as a high-volume site, but is not classified by the state as a mass vaccination site. This week, the site expects to do 500 vaccinations a day, for 2,500 vaccinations in a week.
“We have multiple regional collaboratives in Worcester County,” Gov. Charlie Baker said during a press conference at the opening of the mass vaccination site in Natick on Wednesday when asked why a state-run mass vaccination site has not, yet, opened in Worcester County.
