CRESTVIEW — Because of an ordinance unanimously adopted by the City Council on Monday, the hours for when alcoholic beverages can be legally sold in Crestview now match those in the cities of Fort Walton Beach and Destin and in unincorporated Okaloosa County.
Previously, Crestview had prohibited the sale of alcoholic beverages from 4-7 a.m. Monday through Saturday and from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday. Exceptions to the rule were any restaurants that regularly serve full meals from 10 a.m. until 4 a.m. the following morning.
With the adopted ordinance, which took effect immediately, the sale of alcoholic beverages now is prohibited from 4-7 a.m. every day in the Hub City. That means people in Crestview now can buy alcohol starting at 7 a.m. Sunday instead of having to wait until 1 p.m.
