Obituary: WWII digger Les Thomson, 100, witnessed Australia's worst wartime air disaster

The crash of the US Liberator bomber claimed the lives of 60 2/33rd battalion soldiers and injured another 90. “I don’t think I will ever get over it,” said survivor Les Thomson in 2023.
