Hello and welcome everybody, its 1 30 p. M. Here in the iranian capital tehran, youre watching press tvs world news, our top story uh for this half hours ravy warplanes have targeted yet another residential building in northern gaz as the regimes deadly onslot on the bessieg palestinian territory enters its sixth day. At least 15 people were killed and dozens more injured. In the strike on the building in the city of jabalia meanwhile emergency workers in gaza pulled the bodies of 18 people from the rubble of two shattered of houses in khans and Southern Gaza. The Palestinian Health minister. Says the death toll has risen to 1200 with 5600 wounded since israel began pounding gaza on saturday, these are live images that were getting from the skyline of gaza, black plums of smoker billowing through the air once again, but it says most of the casualties are women and children, according to the un, some 340,00 gazents have been displaced brazil, which currently holds a rotating presidency of the Un Security Council called a for a meeting of the body on friday to discuss the ongoing Israeli Palestinian conflict. These are live images uh were getting right now from gaza, uh, its day six of the israely onslot as the indiscriminate attacks continue against uh residential buildings and uh building complexes where so many houses have been destroyed, so many. Uh buildings have been obliterated and reduced uh to rubble and the death toll continues to increase. Palestinian resistance groups launch more rockets toward the occupied territories as Israeli Death toll rises to 1300. The Hamas Resistance Movement says the rockets were fired toward televiven response uh to the killing of civilians in gaza. According to israely media multiple rockets fell in northern israel including uh natanya and hadera. Resistance forces have also launched multiple rockets at israeli targets in the north of the occupied west bank. The retaliatory operations come as israel has been massing its troops and tanks near the gaza fence. And uh, its getting ready for a Ground Invasion. Israel has used internationally banned White Phosphorus bombs in its strikes on gazas kararama neighborhood. Over two million palestinians are trapped in the gaza strip which is known as a worlds biggest open air prison, well the international uh committee of the red cross has warned that hospitals in gaza are turning into graveyards after equipment stopped working due to lack of power supply, the humanitarian Organization Says that power cuts have put at risk the lives of newborns and incubators, elderly patients on oxygen, patients on dialysis and others as well, the icrc says all 13 hospitals. In gaza are only partially operational because of severe shortages of fuel and crucial medical supplies, hospitals across gaza are reeling from a shortage of staff and supply, while the number of critically injured is growing due to indiscriminate israeli bombardment. On wednesday, gaza soile power plant ran out of fuel and shut down after israels decision to cut off supplies three of the five water plants and gas are also out of service. The israeli bombardment has leveled 100 homes since saturday. And many in gaza face dire shortages of water, fuel and medical supplies. Irans president ibrahim raisi says all muslim and arab countries must a consensus on ending israels israel suffered heavy blow during the operation alasa flood which was unprecedented in its 75 year history she said israel has violated was unprecedented and its 75year history said israel has violated all International Treaties by cutting off food water electricity and medicine supplies to gaza accusing the regime of double standards on human rights he noted the antiisrael operation has proved that no new order is possible in the region if the rights of the palestinians are ignored. President assad for his part said all arab and Muslim States must show their unity and support of the oppressed Palestinian People otherwise he added israel will commit even more crimes. And uh more propalestinian solidarity marches have been held around the world as israeli attacks on the gaza strip continue to claim innocent lies. Thousands of protesters hit the streets of jordans capital aman demanding the government to end its relations with israel and expel the regimes ambassator in chicago protesters condemned the Israeli Aggression against palestinians enchanted antiisraels. The outpooring of anger against the occupy regime also fueled rallies in south african cities, a large number of people protested outside the us consulat in johannesburg, criticizing israel for what they called oppression of palestinians, also in cape town people expressed outrage at israeli bombings of gaza calling for the liberation of palestine. For uh more details on whats taking place right now in gaza, were joined by our correspondent ash with us now with all the latest details and updates, ashraf, whats going on . Well, the Israeli Regime currently is currently pounding area in the north of ghaza city called the mukhabarat neighborhood, almost nonstop bombing over the last 15 to 20 minutes at the same time, and this have to make this clear, were talking only about gaza city, were not talking about. Rest of the gaza strip just the things we we know for sure that are taking place because of its its very hard to get any information because lot of places are bombed uh and you can imagine in gaza let me continue uh in the western part of gaza near the near the beach israeli navy is pounding the uh the coastline uh of the gaza strip and even yesterday in the at the same area they used white f for us uh to bomb the streets there and to to bomb white fospherus shells or white peet to bomb the areas there uh as we learn from uh friends and families and colleagues around the other parts of the ghaza strip uh attacks are taking place simultaneously almost everywhere well every once in a while you hear heavy tank shilling heavy artillery fire and heavy machine gun fire in the east of of the gaza strip where and gaza city of course this is where on uh saturday october 7th uh hundreds of hamas fighters entered the the border and clash with Israeli Soldiers uh captured uh and for battlees against israel region forces killing and also capturing. Them taking back taking them back to gaza along with with the with the settlers and uh with also bringing back the dead bodies of Israeli Soldiers, so when you hear when we hear the fighting in the east of of gaza along the security fence, and you can sometimes or some points you can see Apache Helicopter gun ships firing toe and hell fire missiles, theyre firing the missiles towards uh israeli party. The occupied israeli park, theyre not firing their rockets towards us, towards gaza, this means theyre fighting someone inside the settlement, so basically when hamass military wing says their fighters are still there fighting in those inside those settlements against regime, theyre not lying because why, why would you shoot towards your own soldiers or your own people . Right, lemb opec, former member of British Parliament is joining us now from the british capital london to also offer us uh some insight on whats uh taking place and how events have transpired over the past few days as the israeli assault on gaza continues mr. Uh opec give us your perspective on whats taking place right now uh the west doesnt really know uh what its doing uh its almost as if 75 years of oppression never happened and hamas and more importantly the palestinian population have no right to reply to the accusations being made against them. Essentially israel has pulled off a Public Relations coup here with america, britain so many other countries simply declaring that. Unquestioning support for israeli actions, and yet over the last 48 hours, one thing has changed, we now see increasing concern about the fact that the israelis have turned gaza, and everyones using this phrase now, into an open prison where you cant get in, you cant get out, but you can start, you can thirst, you can freeze, and you can die due to lack of medical attention, it seems to me therefore that there is slow realization, and its very slow. I have to tell you that the palestinian cause does have some validity, and regardless of your views about the actions of hamas, thats its possible the Israeli Defense forces and most importantly the politicians to instruct them might go too far. Mr. Pick, what can you tell us about the hypocrisy that were seeing when it comes to western Mainstream Media and the coverage that they. They offer when it uh with the yeah yeah the coverage they have for with regards to what takes place not just in in gaza but overall in the occupied palestinian territories the israelis uh always put twist to this Media Coverage and they try to portray themselves as the victims yes and they do that quite successfully in the eyes the west turning to your question directly its more than hypocrisy it is on censorship, if individuals seek to explain why the hammas fighters were motivated in many cases to fight to their own deaths, its swept away, lot of the media in the west will actually cancel you if you try to put the palestinian position, but one thing is driving a change here, the public seem to be much more concerned about the palestinian cause than they have been in the past, because they see the deaths on both sides. And they treat a palestinian life the same as an israeli life, which i feel that western politicians really arent doing. Will the hechocracy continue . Yes, there is massive vested interest in the west, especially in america in an upcoming president ial Election Year to keep the israeli vote happy, and at the same time, it seems to me that the palestinian cause is simply being mixed up with hamas and and the statement is if you disagree with the murder of. You have to be on the israeli side. No ones going to be happy about the deaths on either side, but as a friend of mine said this morning, it looks like a palestinian life, including innocent life, is worth far less than israeli one in the eyes of the western media. Ashraf, lets address the same question to you as well, how do palestinians feel about the slopsited representation thats been given by mainstream western media . Ashreef, are you with us . All right, uh, i believe that we do not have that connection at the moment, hopefully well be hearing from uh our coursponent later on in the program, lets go back to mr. Lambat opec whos joining us from uh the british capital london, mr. Opic, one uh issue that experts have been pointing out is uh the uh. Manifestation of serious flaw in the Israeli Intelligence and security apparatus, uh, different experts, different commentators have stated basically that the alasa storm operation launched by palestinian uh resistance movements in gaza, theyve laid bear the myth of the Israeli Regimes invincibility, do you agree with that . Yes, it is, according to israels own propaganda, inconceivable. Thats a an outfit like hammat could possibly breach those security systems. I was speaking to a former member of the Israeli Intelligence services two days ago, and she said that even a cockroach could have set off the alarms at the point of breach of the fences and this leads to two possibilities either, israel has always been massively. Exaggerating its own ability to protect its borders, or it did know, and theres some ulterior motive for letting the breach take place. Now they can never admit to the second one, because that would essentially. Mean israel allowed the killing of its own people through negligence and i can see many people in israel very angry and implying that some kind of incompetence took place and did that, but if its the first one you have to ask the question, after all these decades, how could israel not secure its own borders, knowing that its activities have been wildly provocative for well over half a century, and the is the Palestinian Resistance um factions hamas, islamic jahad, the lions den, number of other um Palestinian Resistance groups had been warning the israelis that if the desecration the alaabsamas continues, if they continue to violate uh the uh the holy venue and to attack uh worshippers at the mosk, there would be consequences, so uh, we are seeing the consequences of the israeli actions in the first place. Yes, i grew up in Northern Ireland, that was very troubled part of the British Isles where a terrorist group called the irish republican army, the ira uh took to arms to try and defend the interests of the republican and catholic community. Everybody was warned this would happen, but the British Government did not act, and we had half a century of trouble there, almost half a century. That was eventually leading to negotiated peace, but what i learned by speaking to the former. Was this justification for action is different to explanation of action, and the former terrorists in Northern Ireland could explain why they did it without saying, looking back that what they did was right. At the moment, no one is allowed to speak like that about what hamus did, youre not even allowed to talk about the motives of whats caused it, and lets remember, most palestinians are not in hammas, most palestinians are not terrorists, most palestinians. Are simply wanting to live life and over half of them are under 20 years old in the area that were talking about, so what were seeing here is really the wiping away of palestinian history and the seudo justification of equivalent and perhaps even worse violence on the israeli side on the basis of selective memory of history, thats not going to solve anything. In the worst case scenario, if the fighting subsides, well be back to where we started with few thousand. That people on on each side. Were getting live images right now uh from uh the ghaza um fence, the ghaza border, which the fence basically separating ghaza from uh from occupied palestine from from israel, and uh, as mentioned earlier by the israelis tanks were amassing there to initiate a full ground offensive. Thats apparently what were seeing uh right now and uh also breaking news, the death toll from israels boot aggression against the besege gaza is exceeding um 1,350 with over 6,000 injured at this point, we are giving you constant updates of of the situation on the ground um right here on press tv and uh with our breaking news uh segments uh as well mr. Opec lets se focus on the reactions that uh the uh the israeli onslot on gaza has been getting. Were going to break this down into three uh different uh fields, basically different um uh its the reaction that weve seen from International Organizations like the United Nations, maybe some would even uh challenge that saying its not action, its a lack of action. Then we have the uh reactions coming from from different governments uh western. Governments, the allies of the United States of uh of course show their full support for the Israeli Regime, uh, other uh countries, number of other countries, islamic countries, arab countries have also uh expressed their support for the palestinian cause, and then we can break it down to the the third level, which would be the public opinion, the popular uh rallies that were seeing across the world, you just mentioned earlier that apparently there is increased level of awareness with regards to the palestinian cause, break that down for us please, on the three Different Levels of reactions weve seen, the first one is the most obvious, and im not sure i can add much to what your coverage has already said on that, but on the second and essentially at the strategic level, people are saying israel has right to defend itself, hamas has done something unforgivable, has beheaded babies, that this is simply the suppression of a terrorist group, the second one. The countries you mentioned have huge vested interest, as i said before, the United States president s look like they essentially depend on the irish vote and the israeli vote to get a in america, not every president does that, but lot of them do, and i think that in the United Kingdom weve seen a copy cut reaction from rishi sunak, has completely dismissed so far, at least in this conversation, the flight of the palestinian, perhaps hes just afraid of being accused of being a terrorist supporter, but the third group is really interesting, the public who dont need votes and watch television, and usually have a good heart wherever you come from in the world, theyre beginning to feel that there something. Really wrong here, and they arent justifying the killing of innocent people and children and so forth, but they are saying, hold a second, this looks like the israelis wanting to get more deaths against palestine to level the score, and theyre achieving that at the moment, and the public are all being mass, starvation, and mass death of people whove got nothing to do with the conflict directly, whove never killed a soul in gaza. And that that doesnt feel fair. What politicians need to look out for, especially in the western countries is if they lose connection with the public, theyre going to have to change their position, because no one is going to thank them for taking us into a regional war or worse on the basis of supporting obvious Human Rights Violations which are killing, i would say has to have the potential to kill thousands of palestinians and certainly more than will die in israel. Mr. Opec, what do you attribute this increased level of . Other individuals who are a little bit like them being persecuted to, the human suffering, difference, much more than some high intellectual discussion about why israel is where israel is, or who has are and whether irans involved in this, they just think its wrong that innocent people are suffering, and to me thats been the the sea change that ive detected over the last few days, people are saying, why should these people suffer because of the deeds of politicians . And what about the enhanced capabilities of the Resistance Forces at this point where uh were seeing the palestinians are retaliating the uh assault on gaza with the with uh rocket launchers and uh fire of their own uh talked us about the significance of this enhancement in this increase of capabilities that were seeing and as a result of that do you think that the israelis will start to less and less secure uh, the first question is really interesting, the level of preparedness and the level of armament has surprised even me, not the level of professionalism in hamas, but these bodamas or not, theres no doubt that theyve actually run fairly professional operation here, thats a statement of fact, not a statement of moral judgment, on the second point, i feel that israel has uncomfortable for some time, the iron dome isnt as iron clad as has been made out, but this sheer incursion means that whatever the Security Forces feel, however clever they may have been if there has been a conspiracy here, which i dont know for sure whether its true or not, the public now feel insecure, because when you think about the number of people in israel, fewer than 10 million, and the number of deaths there, almost one in 10. Thousand, everyone will know someone has been affected, and that makes people feel very uncertain. My experience in Northern Ireland was the same, everyone, including me knew someone who was killed in the troubled times in Northern Ireland, and that makes everyone much, much less secure, i have to say on both sides. Right, so uh, the israeli military, this breaking news, has said that is preparing for Ground Invasion on gaza, decision has not been made yet. Uh, mr. Opec, this would be a proper time for the international community, the International Bodies like the United Nations to step in and prevent uh such uh such event from happening. Should this uh uh israels proceed with this ground offensive, it would be total uh massacre, many are calling it, it would be a complete genocide of palestinians in gaza. Give us your thoughts on that issue. Yeah, as i said before, i think. Worst case scenario, if this conflict is contained, if its not contained, the consequences could be unimaginable, but in the worst case scenario, in a contained conflict, thousands of palestinians will. Die, very large proportion of them will be uh, innocent, there must be civilians, uh, huge number of people will be displaced, and therell be secondary starvation, illness, disease because of the lack of resources, and my feeling is, if israel insists on going this far, they might finally break the good faith that theyve had, because theres only so much that western democratic politicians can go along with, and if goes too far, once again the public will say, why did we stand by and let this happen . My concern is they probably will do nothing in the short term because theyre conflicted with the vested interest of using israel as power base in the middle east. Of course, if they actually had mature relationship with iran, which is the true regional superpower and has had to do lot of the undo lot of the damage done by the west, most notably the dismantling of icil for which they thanked iran by by uh assassinating the general largely responsible. So if if thats anything to go, if if they were sensible, they would work with iran, and theyd work in a peaceful way to descalate the situation, but to be honest with you, i dont see that level of maturity in the western narrative, they they are staring from a distance at their old friend israel, and and muttering quietly, we hope they dont do too much in palestine, but i think that orders of magnitude, more palestinians will be dead if they do. Ground offensive and that could actually ironically perhaps uh change the tide uh against israel. All right, thanks lot for member of British Parliament, mr. Lambert opic, joining us from the british capital london. Were covering the uh sixth day of the gaza war, the israeli onslot uh on the besieg ghaza strip, live images from uh the skyline of gaza, you can see that the the trail of. Destruction as uh so many buildings there have been totally obliterated uh as a result of the uh the israeli indiscriminate attacks uh just earlier in the day they targeted another residential building in northern gaza uh as uh the uh onslot has uh left 15 people that in that incident alone dozens were injured in the strike on the building in the city of jabaliah meanwile emergency workers uh in gaza pull the bodies of 18 people from the rubble of two shattered houses in khan unes, thats in Southern Gaza strip. The Palestinian Health Ministry Says a death toll has now risen well over 1300. Those would uh the latest uh numbers and figures that we had uh that we were showing in our breaking news. A box on the bottom of your screen, around 6,000 have been wounded and as the attacks continue uh the uh the death toll, the fatalities and the injured unfortunately will rise. As uh its day six of the israeli onslot on the gaza strip, the gaza Health Ministry has said most of the casualties are women and children, according to the un, also some 340,00 gazzans have been displaced on the International Front brazil, which currently holds uh the rotating presidency of the Un Security Council is called uh for a meeting of the unesc on friday to discuss the ongoing uh israel, palestinian con. Conflict on the other side though, Palestinian Resistance groups have launched more rockets toward the occupied territories as the Israeli Death toll has risen to 1300 since the operation alaxsa flood started on saturday, the Hamas Resistance Movement said the rockets were fired toward tell of even response to uh the killing of civilians in gaza. According to israeli media, multiple rockets fell in northern israel, including tanya and hadera as well, Resistance Forces have also launched multiple rockets at israeli targets in the north of the occupied west bank. So hezbullah has also now slammed the israeli shelling of iran media offices in gaz expressing solidarity with press tv and alalam. We had the news yesterday as the offices of alalam in gaza had been targeted uh by the indiscriminate israeli attacks um uh the uh aladam news network strongly condemned the attack of its office in gaza by these radio warplanes and Networks Said despite the attack it will continue to inform the world of what is happening in the besieg territory following the strike the activities of alamar
