WORCESTER — As demand in the real estate market continues to rise, single-family home prices in Worcester County jumped 19.1% last month as sales reached an all-time high in the state for the month of April.
Worcester County's single-family median sale price in April was $361,000, a nearly 20% increase since April 2020's recorded price of $303,000. The year-to-date median sale price was $343,000, an 18.3% increase from $290,000 by April of last year.
In 2021 so far, 2,119 homes have been sold in Worcester County, with 596 sold in April alone.
In Massachusetts, the median statewide single-family home price surpassed $500,000 according to the Warren Group's monthly Massachusetts sales report. The group said this is the first time the prices have reached this level in the state since they began tracking transaction data in 1987.
