Football stakeholders have kicked against the action of the Referee’s Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, after the committee members allegedly demanded to be paid sitting allowances by the Nigeria Women’s Football League, before appointing referees to officiate matches in the NWFL.
The committee was said to have requested that the organisers of the NWFL pay for their sitting allowances before referees would be appointed for the league games.
Our findings showed that officials of the NWFL, who are battling to get funds for the running of the league, declined payment of the money.
