LOWER MERION TOWNSHIP, PA — The Lower Merion Township community is remembering the loss of a police officer eight years later.
On Feb. 11, 2013, Lower Merion Police Officer Sean Quinn was found deceased in South Philadelphia.
Quinn died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was found that morning unresponsive is his personal vehicle in FDR Park located on Pattison Avenue in South Philadelphia, according to Police Superintendent Michael McGrath.

"The Lower Merion Police Department wishes to express its heartfelt condolences to Officer Quinn's family and friends and asks that they be kept in your thoughts and prayers as we all try to come to terms with this tragic event," McGrath said in a statement issued that day in 2013.
