With heat and eat meat the provenance of the core product is still important (and you’ll be able to taste the difference).
A confession: When I left home, I had no idea how to buy meat.
I’d grown up on a farm, where meat came out of a giant freezer. Occasionally my mother’s neatly written labels came off (hence the great accidentally roasted corned beef debacle of 1986), but most of the time this system was foolproof. Having to shop for meat - and work out what to do with it - was nearly enough to turn me vegetarian.
