Ludi directed by Edson Jean and written by Joshua Jean-Baptiste and Jean, stars Haitian-American actor Shein Mompremier. It revolves around a Haitian girl Ludi (Mompremier) who comes to America to live her dreams, her âAmerican Dream.â She works day and light as a nurse, to fend for herself and her family back home but somehow, itâs never enough. In fact, the movie comes to life as she struggles with her bills, pushy co-workers and difficult patients. That and the breaking point, where sh*t hits the fan (read face) and it dawns- a caretaker needs selfcare too. Jeanâs film, fueled by Mompremierâs performance presents a strong case in front of a generation that loves to glamorize the hustle culture. Read the full review below.
