The Miami Trace Panthers fought hard Friday night despite only having one practice in two weeks but fell to the McClain Tigers in a low scoring contest 38-32.
Neither team shot the ball well as both teams leading scorers were out and it stayed close through most of the game. The Panthers held on to a two point lead going into the half 16-14. McClain was 5-21 for 24% and Trace was 6-22 for 27%.
Shooting wise it didn’t get much better the rest of the way. At the 3:50 mark the Tigers tied the game at 16 and after each team traded buckets it was 20-20 with 1:39 to go in the third quarter. From that point until 2:44 to go in the game the Tigers outscored Miami Trace 12-0 to go up 32-20. From there clawed their way back in the game and were able to cut the lead to 5 but timely free throw shooting by the Tigers prevailed them to victory.
