And they're still declining and so we're really concerned about this new scheme then tell me about it how does it work so we are putting as high tech feeding stations into 2 different areas the suburban area in a rural area and then going out into residence gardens and within the feeding station we've got a microchip scanner which will read any microchip in a hedgehog So when they're released from a rescue we microchip them and then we'll be able to see which hedgehogs coming into the feeding station and within the feeding station itself there are some way of weighing scales underneath so we can monitor that weights whilst they're in the wild and there's also a camera and a microphone so we can see how they're getting on what's alternately about Emily is this about finding safe areas for head chugs potentially to be relocated to his ISP either through sources and so it's about understanding more about hedgehogs we know very little about them in the Maimon we know they're declining more in rural areas than suburban areas but we don't know why we also need to know much more about how they're affected by the climate and so we hate the name from ation the boxes will capture will tell us when they're imagine from hibernation in the spring when the.
