So thats why we were call. I must say when we were called, mr. Crump had said they had been trying to get the federal the fbi, the federal government involved without success at that time, and thats why they wanted me to come in and shortly after we started the autopsy whoops, channel five, im sorry after we started the autopsy, then it was announced that they were going to do another autopsy which is fine, because it shows the interest and the concern the federal government has in this kind of death, and you are here all here because many black men die of accident, of homicide, every day in this country, and rarely and never as far as i recall has the president of the United States gotten involved. The only time the president got involved i remember was charles man son did his thing and you guys werent born in those times and he was very upset about it. Not in a civil rights way. I think understanding whats happening, one thing i want to adhere, mary case is the chief medical examiner in st. Louis county and shes a very excellent forensic pathologist and im sure her work will turn out to be very excellent when its released, but again it hasnt been released yet, and the family wants to know certain simple questions that so far weve been able to answer. Shaun parcels has been instrumental in the autopsy evaluation. I dont know if you want to point out anything on the on the anatomy of the gunshot wounds that that beautiful drawing. First of all, im professor shaun parcels and i would like to thank everyone for bringing me into this case and were here for the family to answer questions about what happened to Michael Brown. And i want you guys to understand that when an autopsy is done, that we look at the body in an anatomical position. This is the anatomical position. This is not how we stand, how we walk, but medically speaking, we like to describe wounds this way. As you all know, dr. Baden and i concluded that he was shot at least six times. Weve got one to the very top of the head, the apex. Weve got one that entered just above the right eyebrow. Weve got one that entered the top part of the right arm. Weve got a graze wound, a superficial graze wound to the middle part of the right arm. Weve got a wound that entered the medial aspect of the right arm, and weve got a deep graze wound that produced a laceration to the palm of the right hand. Now, these two, where the xs are represent what dr. Baden and i feel are possible reentry wounds, so the wound that hit the forehead right above the right eyebrow actually came out right around the right eye and went back in and then it exited again right here in the jaw line and came out and went back in to the right shoulder. Thats from one bullet. We have to confer that with the first autopsy. This wound right here to the side of the chest is also a possible reentry wound. Now, which wound on the arm that correlates to, were not sure. We have to correlate all of this with the first autopsy, and the other critical point that i want everyone to be very clear on is that this wound to the medial aspect of the right arm, just generally speaking, happened right about here indicate okay. What dr. Baden and i feel that occurred and by the way this red mark is showing that same wound, this is not a separate wound. This is showing the same wound, in the same location in that arm, but you are looking at it from the back, and as the attorneys were saying, there was a witness statement that said that he was walking away and the gun goes off and he kind of jerks. So the question asked to us was could that wound occurred from him walking away and then he turns around . Its consistent with that. However, understand too that while the shot could have come from the back, because if im standing here walking along and get shot from that direction, you see i pull my arm up, its in that same general area, the arm is a very mobile part of your body, so it also could have occurred when he was putting his hands up. So i put my hands up and you see where that wound is at. It could have happened if he put his arms across in a defensive manner. We dont know and we still have to look at other aspects of this investigation before we can really start piecing things together. Dr. Baden. The attorneys behind me thought that there might be a question among you. Were here to see are any of these wounds inconsistent with the witness accounts that Michael Brown was shot while rushing the Police Officer . They could be consistent with his Going Forward or going backward, but they are from the front, if he was shot Going Forward, he would collapse right away. The problem yeah, so its possible. There are a number of different possibilities to that. Can you tell how far away . The question was how far away . Yes. We can tell certain distance. We can tell the distance from the muzzle of the gun to the body and the bodys clothing. If theres close to the weapon is to the body, the more powder residue there will be on the body and the skin and the clothing. In this instance, theres no gunshot residues on the skin surface, so that the muzzle of the gun was at least one to two feet away, the muzzle at the time of discharge. It could have been 30 feet away. It would be the same thing. But in order to be firm about that, we also have to look at the clothing, which we havent had the opportunity to look at because sometimes the clothing can filter out gunshot residues. Doctor, can you say how many times he was actually shot . You were talking about reentry wounds so there are six bullets struck, six bullets struck and two may have reentered and three bullets were recovered at the first autopsy. According to our report. There were the two head wounds and the bullet in the chest stayed in the body and were removed at the first autopsy from our examination of the body. One of the things thats going to be important for us to see is the xrays. The old black and white xrays that will show where the bullets were at before the autopsy was started, and thats documented in xrays taken before an autopsy in a gunshot wound case. We know those xrays exist . Yes. I spoke with dr. Mary case, and they did all the proper xrays, photographs, and they should be available at some time. Whether today or whether three or four months from now often depends on what the prosecutor wants to do. That is mary case could have told you everything im telling you on day one but often in an investigation like this, its not uncommon for prosecutors not to want information released, but i think in my experience, when that happens, it only gets the community more upset. I have a question. Maam, are you a member of the media . I am not. Only the media. Only the media. Can we get access to the clothing . Are there any signs i didnt hear. Access to the clothing, are there any signs of any struggle. Two things. Accession to the clothing, at think at some point, the defense should have access to the clothing. That depends largely, the clothing is now in dr. Cases advice in the los angeles st. Louis county Police Agency normally. They are going to be looking at it. Its up to them when the defense not defense, the familys will have access to it, so at some time there will be access to it and the results. As far as the other part of the question was were there any signs of struggle . Any signs of struggle . There werent signs of a struggle. In talking about a struggle, one of the things that the attorneys have also asked for is the medical examination of the officer who was in a struggle, so signs of injury to the officer, to Michael Brown, are both needed. One thing is that there are abrasions around the right side of mr. Browns face, rubbing against the ground, which happened as best as we can tell when after the gunshot wounds, he fell flat down, unprotected and got those abrasions. Otherwise, no evidence of a struggle and it will be important in evaluation of the case for the medical examiner, for the fbi for the defense not defense, the family to see what happened to the officer. Doctor, doctor over here for a second. Our autopsy that we did, the first autopsy at the county medical examiner, sceked one was at the second one was at the funeral home where the body was delivered for bural and we did that in the office, and it was about three, fourhour reautopsy. How do your findings resemble or differ from the county autopsy results . We cant that until we see the county. My impression having done this some 50 years or so is they are going to be very similar. Do you expect that to happen . I think they are available now. The autopsy records are available now. When its going to be released is probably up to the prosecutor. Right here. Excuse me. Right here. The autopsy itself, consistent with police or witnesses, there are many different witness testimonies. Many of them seem to line up in one direction, some in another direction. Right now, till we get more information, till we get from a Forensic Science point of view cant distinguish cant make a definite judgment. Now, the lawyers who have interviewed witnesses, we havent interviewed, we dont interview witnesses, may be impressed with some witnesses who seem more more trustworthy than others and as the police are doing too. This is what jurys are supposed to do. Juries are supposed to look at the witnesses and tell who is telling the truth and who isnt, but lawyers do that all the time, and so they have more information than we have, but right now from the science point of view, we cant determine which witness and there are all different kinds of observations made, is most consistent with all of the forensic findings. In the green. Doctor, you mentioned transparency. You mentioned scientific information, and you mentioned was there any investigative reason, any scientific reason why this information could not have been released after day one . Is there any well, this is a judgment based on and this is one of the things that the family was concerned about. Even though we know what an autopsy is done, when any autopsy is done that you guys go to, 95 of the information is available right away. Stab wounds, gunshot wounds. Things like microscopic slides and toxicology, which may be of value, but dont determine the cause of death, whether or not a decedent has cocaine on board may be on value to see why an incident happened, but it has nothing to do with the cause of death. So i think my impression is that the like in most medical examin examiners offices when an autopsy is completed, the medical examiner can release it immediately or most of it pending the prosecutors wishes, because the Prosecutor Says that thats going to interfere with our investigation, then medical examiners hold up and the families may not know for weeks or months the kind of questions were talking about. Two more. Two more. Can you scplat on what order the wounds occurred . I dont think we can we cannot speculate exact order of gunshot wounds. Forensically thats impossible. However, we do feel that because of the two gunshot wounds to the head indicating that mr. Brown was bending over as they were coming down, those two shots were most likely the last two to occur to him. Thats about as far as we can go. How about toxicology . The toxicology results have to be done by the medical examiner at the first autopsy. They get the blood and everything out. Second autopsy, no more blood and theres been em bombing embalming fluids. We have to wait for the medical examiner and it depends how quickly they are rushed. The toxicology should be able to be done in a week or two but oftentimes it gets on the end of the line of all the other cases that they are dealing with and may take months, but that should be available, especially with your concern and the president s concern, it should be available very soon. We got a feeling that that toxicology report, like other things, will be released to you sooner than later. There was one question from a nonpress person. Yes, maam. Thank you. My question is the four shots that entered the body first, im assuming that he was survived . Yes, he could have i should have mentioned something. All of these gunshot wounds were survivable except for the one through the top of the head, that went through the brain. With that being said and all of us here know what happened to michael, why hasnt mr. The officer wilson been arrested . [ applause ] you know, who gets arrested, you know, is a political District Attorney decision and its not a Forensic Science decision for good or for bad. Thank you. Thank you. Welcome to this hour, im michaela pereira. Were taking a look at the ongoing press conference. Were in new york. Weve just wrapped up a press Conference Held at the Greater Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church where we heard from Benjamin Crump the family attorney along with darrel gates, cocounsel. The forensic pathologist hired by the family, dr. Michael baden. Hes a preeminent polings pathologist and has been key in this case and because the family wanted to have their own independent pathology exam and autopsy. Ive got the best in the business right now. Lets listen in for one second and well talk with some of our guests. We can only tell that the direct its going in, but that direction could be up or or kneeling or down and that depends on other factors which the lawyers know more than we know. You want to point out what the last shot yes. This is the last shot and this is the only shot that is not treatable. What does that mean . Well, it went in the top and it went slightly to the front, from the middle of the brain to sort of the right side of the brain. Yes, it stayed in and was recovered at slightly forward. Okay. Thank you. Could this have come from behind . Only if he was double jointed and could its more likely to be consistent with neither kneeling or bending forward. As attorney parks said no more questions. Lets go. Lets go. No more questions. Well answer your question. Thank you all. Thank you. All right. It looks as though the press conference has just wrapped up there. That last comment was from doctor Michael Baden who was talking about that shot to the head. We know that Michael Brown was shot at least six times. There could be more. This was a preliminary autopsy report. One done at the familys behest by dr. Michael baden and professor parcells. All of the wounds were survivable except for the one at the top of the head. We have a lot to wade through. We have George Howell in ferguson, don lemon is also in ferguson. Joe johns joins us with more on the investigation and i have to say this is a great get for us. Leading forensic pathologist sarah wex. Here is with me with danny cevalos. The first thing we have to talk about, the first thing that we heard was that the mother of Michael Brown wanted to know three things. Wanted to know how many times her son was shot, heart breakingly she wanted to know if her son had felt any pain, and then lastly she said what else do we need to give them to arrest the killer of my child. What kind of reaction are you hearing and what do you sense you are going to get on the ground there in ferguson . Listen, weve gotten tons of reaction. Some people listened here on loud speakers when they hold these press conferences, people here just in the last couple of minutes, before i answer your questions, people have been told here that they are allowed to protest but they have to keep moving. They cannot assemble. They cannot stop and so that has caused a little consternation. You can see the Police Presence here for the folk who have gathered here. You remember these big meeting points no longer a big meeting point. You have to keep moving. One thing she wanted to know was her son suffer. No. How many shots . At least six shots. What else do we have to do to get the officer arrested and thats interesting because they are very vehemently called for an arrest of this officer, there is some concern about that, especially people who are here, we dont want to push for an arrest when its too fast and then it ends up with George Zimmerman where the outcome is not what they wanted. Those are the three things that you asked me and those are the three aanswers that i can give you. That press conference, whats happening here where i am, the people are being told that they cant congregate and the National Guard, its going to were going to have to see how all of this plays out in the coming moments, michaela. Don, actually, if we can, if we still have time later this hour, i would love to talk to you more about that because there is a concern about what all of this information what effect thats going to have on the ground there in ferguson. Stick with me for a second. I want to bring in our forensic pathologist. I think were really lucky to have dr. Sarah whect with us. What did you make of what we heard at the press conference, sir . It confirms what had been reported earlier. I would point out as i have already done so in previous discussions, that it was premature to have stated, as i read in the National Newspapers this morning, that the shots were all from the front because the arm can move in dirn directions and when someone is running, then you may be struck in the back and when you look at the body as the professor pointed out in a supine position, the anatomic position, then it would appear that shots were fired from the front. With regard to conscious pain and suffering, i disagree. The shots to the arm which i think came first, that did produce some pain, obviously. And then furthermore, if the shot that entered around the eye came before the shot that went into the brain, then there was pain there. The shot to the brain, then was t there was no pain thereafter. Im pointing out some things that have to be considered. Sure. The point that i have made too is regrettable about this third autopsy. That should have been worked out before. The institute of pathology should have been there. Remember when you do an autopsy, you are dissecting the body. You are going through structures that have been traversed and damaged. Number two, the second autopsy, you have to do further dissection, so now you have the third autopsy, and things are significantly obfuscated. With regard to clothing, theres no clothing on the head and if the young man was wearing a tshirt, then except maybe for the top wound on the right arm, the other wounds would not have been covered. I do not know what that garment was, and then a very important point is that this boy, 63 with a shot coming around the eye and moving downward, exiting in the jaw and entering above the right clavicle, that clearly is downward. You have someone who is falling. If you want to conject tour, what if he was charging like a mad bull toward an officer with a gun, i find that unlikely. Most likely he was already toppling and his head was pitched forward when that shot was fired and moved in a downward trajectory. That all has to be taken into consideration. Doctor, we should point out as the doctor himself mentioned, this is a preliminary report. Give us an idea on when we would expect the full autopsy report, and again theres the county autopsy report. Theres this independent report, and then theres also the federal autopsy that will be done. How long can we expect those results to be completed, the full autopsies . That is completely unpredictable. Dr. Baden correctly pointed out. Thats a decision thats going to be made by the prosecutorial authorities as high as the attorney general of the state and possibly with the doj involved by eric holder. I assure you that their findings are complete. Im sure that they have already completed their toxicology findings. They have looked at the slides microscopically. They have the report back from the Forensic Science lab regarding the clothe th. They have it all there. As to when it is to be released, that is a matter that is completely unpredictable at this point. It will depend on what the prosecution wants to do. And the same thing will hold true with the third autopsy that is taking place today or tomorrow, whether they release it. I dont know. I think in as much as this autopsy has been released, in detail, i think that it would be wise for everybody to step forward and speak from a forensic scientific standpoint as to the findings of the first autopsy, findings of the third autopsy, no conclusions of a legal nature, and nothing to do with whether the shooting was justifiable or so on, that will all come later but from a forensic scientific standpoint theres no reason why the results of the shooting, the number of shots and the direction, the trajectory, the distance, et cetera, why that should not be released and put on the table in a professional, objective, scientific fashion. You know what, i have to give you hats off. Maybe science should lead this. It seems that passion and anger and frustration lead this. I appreciate you saying that. Stand by. One of the things that i found very interesting and very telling about what dr. Baden said was that all of these answers could have been provided on day one in terms of transparency. Joe, where do we stand with the investigation . What doe we do we know about the feds on the investigative front and im going to turn to danny to talk about that as well. We know the feds are going to do an autopsy of their own as they continue this investigation into the question of whether the civil rights of Michael Brown may have been violated. Look, when you listen to all of this stuff from the people there in ferguson, one thing remains a question and that is whether this is Justifiable Deadly force by a Police Officer in the conduct of his duties. Thats probably the critical question. An officer is entitled to use deadly force to protect himself or a third person from serious physical bodly arm or death. So you have six shots here and the question, of course, critical question is whether this young man was moving forward, if he was moving backward. Those kind of questions have to be left to the investigation and the people in washington, d. C. Who have an interest in this thing are going to be looking to those questions as well, michaela. All right, joe. Thank you for that. Danny is sitting with me here in the studio. Youve had a chance to listen to the press conference, to the pathologist, to our pathologist here. What are some sticking points for you in terms of all this . Obviously, as a defense or as a prosecution, you want to know what went down. How many shotses were fired, whether the young man was coming at the officer. What stood out how here . Michaela, you almost cant keep track of the swing in this case. Every day we wake up and someone has rearranged all the chess pieces and today let me tell you what im focusing on. The narrative up until now appeared to be that he may have been fleeing. Thats why we were talking about this fleeing felon rule from tennessee v. Garner. Its a Supreme Court case that authorizes deadly force even when an alleged felon is trying to flee. We all expected to see a few bullets in the back. Instead we saw six which seems like a lot and wounds which arguably could come from the front or from the rear and certainly that top shot on the top of the head is doubly concerning because it changes the narrative considerably. Evidence suggests that he was facing the officer. If that true, it totally changes the legal analysis in my opinion. Because you dont necessarily have someone who is fleeing. Now the officer has to explain six shots. He has to explain a reason for each of those six shots. He has to have justifiably been in fear of his life or fear of some eminent serious bodily arm. Some eyewitnesses report that his hands were in the air. Is there any possibility . Yes, im here. Dr. Wect, is there any possible scenario where he could have been shot in the back but turned around. Is there any way or am i just imagining things . Well, there are no shots that have been described in the back, so you can just, as i say, engage in visual conjecture as to how the body may have been turned. I think that insofar as the arms are concerned, there is no problem in understanding that which may appear to be from front could really have been from the rear. I would like to make a comment calling upon my legal background if i may, fleeing felons, theres felonies and theres felonies. Neighborhood boys. No weapons. Felony. They didnt know anything about what had transpired at the cigars store before. The felony, to get off the street, even if he did, possibly take a swing at the officer and runaway, im not excusing that or justifying it or rationalizing it, but is this the kind of fleeing felony which intiettle intiettles an officer to shoot multiple times to shoot somebody. Who is in danger here . These are things that have to be considered in this case. Danny. I agree with the doctor except that its becoming a diminishing issue and by that i mean there are possibilities that this shooting could be justified but each day depending on the facts, today at least it seems a little more vanishing because, yes, in under certain circumstances, i say that again, certain circumstances, the police may use deadly force. Not only in missouri, but pursuant to federal law and Supreme Court case law. But the facts have to align in the right position and the key is reasonable fear of imminent serious bodily harm. If he can show that and justify six bullets, then thats his defense. Thank you so much. Last thought from George Howell. Youve been there on the ground. Im curious what you are hearing where you are. If you feel this is providing answers or merely more questions. Reporter its a fascinating discussion and a lot of people are talking about those issues, but i want to bring you right here to whats happening on the ground right now. You know ive been moving around a lot in this panel. Kind of stepping out of the camera back and forth. Ill show you why. You can see police have set up around this qt gas station. Keep in mind for the last several days this is where people have been protesting, hundreds of people and in fact maybe even thousands of people have been protesting and now police are saying that they are not allowed to protest here. Don mentioned this just a few minutes ago. What has been playing out here in the last few minutes. Weve seen a lot of very angry discussions. Weve seen some heated exchanges between police and protesters, people are very up set that they are being told to leave this spot. Were looking at it play out here. You see the Police Officers talking to people. Some of the exchanges have been heated. People are told that me they must walk along the sidewalk. They cannot congregate here at the qt. Probably good we werent at the air a few minutes ago, some of the words you would have heard you probably wouldnt have wanted to be broadcasted. Its a volatile situation right now. More officers are coming in. Were checking to see how this will play out. Those officers, they are the Highway Patrol under the command of ron ive forgotten his name johnson, thank you. Is that who those officers are . Is that the department they belong to . Well, we understand that captain johnson is overseeing all of this, so one would presume that these officers are working under his direction. But again, this is a big change in policy. Again, the last several days, this has been the place where people would congregate and now they are told they are not able to. It has sparked some controversy here. Well continue to monitor it, but you know, were seeing how people will react to the fact this they are not going to be able to be here. You and don have been doing a tremendous job for us on the ground. We know its volatile. We know the press themselves, you guys have had your own encounters with police. Once they hear you are part of the press corps they back off. I know you are doing a good job. But of course safety first, guys. Michaela, i do want to add one thing. Im so sorry about that. We did get some updated information. According to the black Panther Group that has been involved in the situations out here, they have called for a fiveday moratorium on protests. What that means as far as protests, well pass it along to you, but again that group is calling for a fiveday moratorium on protests. We need a mower ra toerm moreatorium on violence and aggression. We need to urge calm. We certainly need to see some calm prevail there in ferguson. Our big thank to cyril wecht. Up ahead, were getting an opportunity to speak with a witness who recorded what she could on her cell phone. What were looking at is officer Darren Wilson to the right. Hes just looking over the body, just looking baffled and bewildered, trying to explain to the officer what had i just done. That is eyewitness, ms. Crenshaw. Welcome back to this hour, the National Guard now being deployed to help keep the peace in ferguson, missouri, following another night of violent protesters over the shooting of teenager Michael Brown. An independent autopsy reveals that he was shot at least six times. We have new video now from a witness to that shooting provided exclusively to cnn. I want to warn you what you are about to see is hard to watch. You dont see the shooting, but you do see what happened immediately afterward. The man seen walking is believed to be Darren Wilson the officer who shot and killed Michael Brown. Bless his soul. The police shot this boy outside my apartment. They killed him. Earlier this morning, i had an opportunity to speak with the woman that the young woman, shes only 19 years old. You can hear her. Shes very upset. I asked her why she felt the need to record what was going on outside her window. From it all initially happening, i knew this was not right. I knew the police shouldnt have been chasing this young boy and firing at the same time, and the fact that he got shot in his face, it was something that clicked in me like no, somebody else needs to see this. This isnt right. I got to record. So you pulled out your cell phone camera and started rolling. How long after it all happened . You saw the whole scenario play out, right . Yes, maam. But i waited a good 30 seconds. I had to run in the house and get my phone. I had to put on the camera and started recording what i saw. Walk me through that. What were looking at is officer Darren Wilson to the right. Hes just looking over the body, just looking baffled and bewildered of sorts, trying to explain to the officer what had i just done, and then we get this picture of him pacing back and forth, just like, in disbelief, so like its like its like he understands that this shot this boy in the face and that boy of any armed and to me this video it seems relevant for this time period, especially including the fact that chief jackson said that the reason that this video wasnt even on the media at the time when it should have been was because he wanted to get all the information out at the same time, you know, under the freedom of information act, but they could have easily given me these videos as well because they confiscated my phone. Take me back to the moment when you see a tussle at the police cruiser. What was going on . From my point of view, i cannot tell what exactly what wassive was going on. It looked like he was trying to pull him into the car. It looks like he was trying to do such, and you know, brown being a bigger fellow, that didnt seem to be working. Of course he got away and it seemed to have upset the officer. And then what happened . He got out and ran and just started chasing after the boy. Im hearing shots fired. Clearly none of them hit them, but one i think did graze him as they said on the autopsy report and at the end, he just turned around, after im guessing he felt the bullet graze his arm, he turned around and then was shot multiple times, and the autopsy is now showing that he was shot from the front. Not the back. Exactly. Does that square with what you saw . Definitely. Because he was running away, when you turned toward the cop, is when he let off the most shots. Lets go to the point where i hear your voice. You sound really upset. I havent even lived there a month. I had just moved there out of my parents home and to see Something Like this outside of my window as im trying to go to work, its traumaticizing. Remember that young lady, Piaget Crenshaw is just 19 years old. She had just moved out on her own. She had been living on her own for a month. She was, supposed to go to work that morning. They are running late. If they would have been on time, they wouldnt have been there to watch all of this to play out and she wouldnt have recorded that incident on her cell phone. Shes really torn up about the incident. Afterwards, i had an opportunity to talk to her off camera, she said she felt there was a really big storm cloud over her community of ferguson and she hoped that that would move on and that calm would be restored and that there would be justice for Michael Brown. Cnn has also reached out to Ferguson Police for comment. So far, we have not received any comment thus far. Were going to take a short break here. We do want to bring back our legal minds. Legal analyst dan yny cevallos. Want to talk about it all and delve into it. Danny, ill start with you, because youre sitting right beside me. You mentioned about this briefly, that the officer because we havent focused on that aspect of this. We know that dr. Bodden says he wants to see the medical exam of him as well. Well talk about that in a second. He has to justify now those six shots to Michael Brown. Talk more about that. Before this autopsy came out, we had a narrative about whether the initial stop was justified. Yes, it may have been for jay walking. But then thereafter if the officer gained some probable cause of a dangerous crime or hes attacked, then he might get to justification of deadly force. Now, when the autopsy came out, if we had seen one bullet wound, perhaps to center mass in the front, i dont know how much that would have changed things. But six bullets means that no matter what the reason for the initial stop, the officer is going to have to justify each and every one of those shots, including of course the one to the apex to the top of the head. The medical examiner saying he would have survived those other shots, the body shots, the shots to his arm. Mo, let me ask you what is your take on how these autopsy findings provide evidence will impact even the charges that this officer potential chi could face. Oh, they impact it hugely. Of course, waiting for the full autopsy report, but preliminary, we know he was they did say those shots came from the front. Theres only one shot thats in question about where it came from and thats the shot to the arm. That very last shot was as michael was falling to the ground, which only i dont know who could interpret it any other way then sort of the last execution shot that took michaels life. Imagine being the parents of Michael Brown and hearing he could have survived five shots but that last sixth one was the one that killed him. What i also found to be very interesting about the witness that you just spoke to a minute ago and the video that she had of officer Darren Wilson was he wasnt even trying to come to michaels aid. He just shot him down and then he just stared at him. I dont understand anybody that would see a child bleeding out of their head or an adult and not bend down immediately and try to stop the bleeding or check if theyre alive or give some aid. He just stood there and stared at him. Which to me goes to his state of mind. A complete state of, oh, my god, what did i just do. You could chalk that up to shock too. The mans just involved in a fatal shooting, danny, you can account for that. Absolutely, in times like these, im everybody becomes an expert on how i would have reacted. I have to say, when you look at the video, you could interpret it as, boy, that seems a little cold standing there, but he cant leave. He has to be on the premises. No, i understand that hold on. The problem, everybody become, an expert on Human Emotion during times of crisis. Danny, i understand that. Why dont we stick with the facts we know. Those will be the autopsy records. Watching an officer walk around, i dont know thats as compelling or as valuable information as hard science. Quick response, then i want to move on to another topic sure, absolutely, the forensic evidence is important, and im not minimizing that at all as compared to what the officers reaction is but you also cant minus out what somebodys state of mind is. You cannot compare Darren Wilsons response to a lay persons response what would you have wanted him to do in that video . I would have wanted him to help Michael Brown. I would have wanted him to see if he was still alive. Call an ambulance. Give him immediate care. Thats what i would have wanted him to do if he was still living. If he was still living. Okay, let the two of you are very passionate about this case and i appreciate that, but i think theres so much angst and so much frustration and tempers are flying in this case. I really want to urge calm. One of the issues is we saw a photo of the officer in question of the officer that shot Michael Brown was put up quickly on youtube or not youtube, pardon me, put up on yahoo. Com. It has since been taken down. And here we are showing it. I question us showing that picture right now. But this potentially could influence the case. How do you see that . I have an unusual take on this. We see those photographs. I dont think that the government was on gaited to turn over facebook photographs. At the same time, the government may choose to release. Anyone who does criminal defense, they know police often have their official shots. Those unfortunately, theyre not lit that well. The guys look very serious in them. I wonder if that photograph had been released if that would have been worse for him. Its not like hes doing anything unusual in those photographs. In his uniform, carrying out his duties. I wonder if it might have been worse if they released a more formal photograph because sometimes those dont necessarily paint someone in the best picture. They come off looking sometimes like mug shots. But this would be one, pretty harmless. If you treat the victim one way, you treat the perpetrator the same way. Weve seen so much of Michael Brown and very, very little of darren. So i think its very important, whatever they have, to be transparent. Theres whats going to happen in the court of the law, in the court of law, and then theres whats happening on the street, theres whats happening in the community. If you want if you want to stop riots, an arrest of Darren Wilson will help that. Look, they are urging calm on the streets. Were adding our voice to that as well. We think thats the only way they cab calmly get to the bottom of this without other people getting hurt. Thanks for keeping it cool for us, guys, we appreciate it. Well talk with you again, im sure. This is only part of the story, this autopsy. Theres so much more to get to. My colleague Ashleigh Banfield will pick this up. Thanks for joining me at this hour. Her show starts after a quick break.
