And biden needs to win a significant majority of votes not just from Union Members in those states but also union households, you know but its complicated, right, you have to, you know, democrats traditionally count on union support, on the other hand theyve been hemorrhaging support from Working Class the transition to electric vehicles which workers say will cost them jobs. And donald trump referring to that. The allegiance arent as straightforward as they were before. Thats true to extent. President biden werent win these states if not for strong union households. It does open an opportunity for a sort of, you know, nationalist, Protection Demagogue like donald trump who in 2016 did very well in pennsylvania, michigan, ohio, in wisconsin and thats basically how he won the presidency. So biden needs those union votes in states like michigan and ohio. And i think that, you know the electric vehicle issue is a little bit of a red herring, the president of the uaw has said he doesnt care what kind of cars they make, whether theyre electric vehicles or not, as long as theyre good, wellpaid union jobs. Finally, this impossible is know, whats your sense, how long do you expect the uaw strike to last . I think its almost inconceivable it would go on for months and months, but theres not a very quick resolution in sight, theyre still very far apart when it comes to bargaining. Unless the big three step up with a much, much better offer, this is likely to go on for, you know, probably for a number of weeks.
