All right. So theres the photoop. We know theyll hold a meeting in a little while at maralago, have dinner tonight. This is a twoday visit for Prime Minister abe. Well keep our eyes on maralago. Also watching closely for this ntsb briefing set to begin in mere minutes about what happened on board of that southwest flight 1308, took off from laguardia airplane, bound for dallas. That plane right there, still sitting on that philadelphia tarmac at the Philadelphia International airport. A woman weve learned is in Critical Condition after passengers say they were cruising along at altitude when they heard a loud explosion and the cabin became violently depressurized, shrapnel, portions of the jets left engine as it apparently blew up somehow came flying up, hit the fuselage, smashed into a passengers window. Weve spotlighted it here we go. Back to maralago. Actually, even before becoming president , its a, very very special country, special place with a very, very extraordinary leader. So its an honor to have you in florida with us, its an honor to have you at maralago and an honor to have you in the United States. Its really something special. Were going to be discussing trade with japan. We are going to be discussing military, were going to be discussing security and we will im sure at the outset were going to get along and when its all over, were going to get along even better. Mr. Prime minister. In. Let me get you back to this plane that made this Emergency Landing in philadelphia. Guys, can you throw the picture back up so people can see . Just imagine the plane window blasted out as a result of some of the shrapnel that flew out from this engine failure. So weve got polo sandoval. Hes standing by live in philadelphia for us. Just starting with you, tell us about the injured passenger and how the heck did this happen. We heard from officials just a few moments ago, brooke, they would not go into great detail about this injured passenger, not even confirming gender, just saying they were taken away in Critical Condition to a local hospital. From our Vantage Point just outside the airport, we could see the damage of that mousse large there on the left side of the plane and also that blown out engine. Officials saying not long after its takeoff from new Yorks Laguardia airport at about 11 15 eastern time, thats when the pilots of southwest 1380 called in this emergency, saying not only was a portion of the aircraft missing but also that apparently had been injured on that plane. So as a result they made that quick turn southeast and eventually heading here to philadelphia where it landed at 11 27. Do the math, brooks. Thats about 12, 13 minutes or so that must have been like felt like an eternity for those passengers aboard, 143 and the five crew. That latest update that was put out by officials a few moments ago, they did say at least fire officials using the description of an incredible job to describe the efforts on that plane this morning saying this wasnt just the crew but also the passengers who eessentially pitssentially help, including some of the crew who were apparently medical personnel who helped and madd this a safe landing. When you see the pictures and see things from our Vantage Point in philadelphia, brooke, its Amazing Things didnt turn out as bad as they could have. And we await word from the National Transportation safety board to find out how this engine was so severely damaged. Cannot begin to imagine how insanely frightening that would be to be flying at altitude to have this kind of explosion and a window blow out. Polo, thank you very. Were going to come back and analyze this. Lets go back to maralago. You have the japanese Prime Minister and the president of the United States. They are still speaking. Translator i very much feel privile privileged to have a discussion with donald today and how we can collaborate together to realize peace in the region, as in the entire international community. Well, thank you very much. Many of the worlds great leaders request to come to maralago in palm beach. They like it, i like it, were comfortab comfortable, we have great relationships. As you remember we were here and president xi of china was here. It was originally built as the southern white house. It was called the southern white house. It was given to the United States. And then jimmy carter decided it was too expensive for the United States so they fortunately for me gave it back and i bought it. Who would have thought it was a circuitous route but now indeed it is the southern white house. Again many of the leaders want to be here, they request specifically. North korea is coming along. South korea is meeting and has plans to meet with north korea to see if they can end the war and they have my blessing on that. Theyve been very generous that without us and without me in particul particular, i guess you would have to say, they wouldnt have had anything, including the olympics would have been a failure. Ne wou they would have had a severe problem. And the olympics was quite a success and that would not have happened. People do not realize the korean war has not ended. Its going on right now and they are discussing an end to the war. So subject to a deal, they would certainly have my blessing and they do have my blessing to discuss that. Japan and ourselves are locked and we are very unified on the subject of north korea. We will probably be depending on the various meetings and conversations well be having, meetings with kim jong un very soon. That will be taking place probably in early june or a little before that, assuming things go well. Its possible things wont go well and we wont have the meetings and well just continue to go along this very strong path that weve taken. But we will see what happens. Tomorrow well have further discussions on trade, on north korea, on our military. Japan is buying a tremendous amount of military equipment from the United States, which is good. And as you know, were buying a lot of cars and a lot of other things from japan. But we are each buying a lot but we still have to talk about trade and the Prime Minister understands that. Were going to sneak out tomorrow morning and play a round of golf, if possible, if we have the time. We we have the time, we played with a great golfer, mooatsiyum. He was great. And i want to congratulate you, it was another great golfer from japan won the big pga vaevent ts weekend so i want to congratulate you on that. Thats a big honor. Its a great honor. Thank you. [ speaking japanese ] [ speaking japanese ] [ speaking japanese ] did he do a good job . Very good, very good. I just want to conclude by saying that our house, great house is filled with people from japan, representatives from japan and from the u. S. And theyve been negotiating for weeks actually and hopefully this will be the conclusion of some very good transactions from both, including tremendous purposes from the United States and also from japan. I want to thank everybody for being here. Mr. Prime minister, its a great honor to have you. Thank you. Thank you. Make your way out. Lets go. Lets go. So the president there with the japanese Prime Minister, referenced that kim jong un meeting may, may not happen, maybe the early bit of june. That was the first time i really heard directly from the president that the white house has put that out there for the last week or so and they may or may not go golfing tomorrow. Thats the president at maralago. Lets go to the ntsb briefing on the Emergency Landing of the plane. We expect the preliminary readouts this evening. We expect to arrive in philadelphia around 4 30 this afternoon, and we will begin our immediate investigation, examination of the engine and the damage to the fuselage. The engine will be ultimately shipped off site where we can do a detailed examination, teardown of the engine. We expect to release factual information from philadelphia once we get out there. Were just now beginning our journey. This will an extensive investigation and we do expect to release information once were in philadelphia. We certainly dont have a lot of factual information to report at this time. Follow us for the latest information, for our latest media interviews, you can follow us from twitter, our handle is ntsb or www. Ntsb. Gov. Id be glad to take a few questions. You had your hand raised first. Reporter how concerned are you this is a repeat of the august indent cident in the sout event . Multiple questions. Were we concerned this may be related to what happened over the gulf of mexico. First of all, we want to look at this particular event and see what the factors are related to this. Maybe theyre related to the previous event or maybe not. But we need to understand whats going on here. As far as the injuries, we do have information there is one fatality. Any other questions . Right here. Reporter can you speak to how rare an unckocontained engi fire is . You said an uncontained engine fire. Some are saying an uncon it akc engine failure. We dont think there was a fire at all. The term has been widely used unckocontained engine failure. That con owe tatates a very spe thing. There are protection rings around the engine to keep shrapnel from coming out. Even though we believe there were parts coming out of this engine, it may not have been in that section of the engine that technically would qualify this as an uncontained engine failure. At this point the ntsb is classifying this, we are saying this is an engine failure. Once we get there and look at it, we may say, well, in fact, this is an uncontained engine failure. Those parts may not have been in that section of the engine that is associated with the protection region associated with an unprotected engine failure. Reporter can you tell us the status of the investigation is and [ inaudible ]. What is the status of the previous Southwest Airlines uncontained engine failure . I dont have that information right now. Our focus right now is getting out the door at headquarters and getting on this airplane so that we can get up to philadelphia. Reporter as a former boeing 737 pilot, have you ever experienced a situation like this . I flew a 737 for ten years. Have i ever experienced a situation like this . No. How unusual is an contained engine failure how frequently do we see what would qualify as an uncontained engine failure . About three or four a year. Not all of those involve u. S. Carriers. In late fall there was an a380 that had an uncontained engine failure over greenland. That was not a u. S. Carrier. We understand there was a proposed airworthiness directive involving this model of engine. What can you tell us about that . What can i tell you about an air worthiness directive on this engine. It is a cfm engin56 engine, wh widely used. There are very iterations of that. If is the ntsb chairman briefing the media. The most significant piece of news we learned is he said there has been one fatality. In the wake of this incident, he was very careful not to say it could be x or y. Obviously the investigation has just begun but one person has died as a result of this. I have cnn aviation analyst mary schiavo and justin green, our aviation attorney here on cnn. The fact that it was the ntsb chair himself doing the briefing suggests theyre taking this very seriously. Can you translate for us what he is saying what happened. I put the pictures side by side of the engines and that they dont have the final out and havent put out air worth earne ne iness direct irs directives, in the 2015 incident, shrapnel did exit and did hit the plane but did not hit the window. The similarities are eerily similar. I think previously, on the previous one, they were fortunate that the shrapnel hit the plane and not the window. He pointed out something very important. The engine covering, the cowelling, the housing, is not designed to contain an engine failure. Its the engine itself that is engineered not to have an engine failure. Thats a very important correction about some of the things talked about on the crowelling. Its absolute correct on that and its significant that hes doing it. I agree. Justin, can you jump in . Guys, if you could throw the picture of the plane upbecause thene the issue is, is it the person sitting next to the window that got shattered . Last i heard the person was in Critical Condition. We dont know who died, how the person died. Thats the window that got blown out and theres that left engine. What mary mentioned a minute ago, if you take the 2016 very same airline. Same airline, same aircraft, same engine. In 2016 they had a failure, parts of the turbo fan exited the engine, penetrated the fuselage, caused the depressurization on landing. The pictures, im looking at this picture and i looked at the pictures from the last incident this morning, they look exactly the same to me. So again, marys right, you cant speculate. This is an accident were going to know very soon what happened. They have the cockpit voice recorder, the flight data recorder. Its going to be pretty clear. But they really havent drilled down on the last accident. What the tragedy will be is this tied to the last accident and could they have done something to prevent this accident . That would be the tragedy. But right now its time for the investigators to go to work. How scary for all these people and the pilots to drop altitude and get them safely down on the ground. Justin, thank you so very much and mary schiavo, thank you as well. Coming up here, a new face involving the president and the porn star. Stormy daniels produces this sketch and shes asking the help of the public to identify this thug. She is a porn star who accepted hush money and now Stormy Daniels is offering big bucks for people to speak out, specifically about this man. In is a sketch they just released today during daniels appearance on the view. She says it shows the person who threatened her back in 2011 when she was first planning to go public about her alleged affair with donald trump. Her Attorney Says they are now offering up a 100,000 reward for information on the suspect. Daniels said the man approached her in a parking lat whot when was with her newborn daughter. He had his hands in the pocket. He said thats a beautiful little girl and it would be a shame if something happened to her mother. Leave mr. Trump alone. I would have gone to the police and their question would be why would somebody tell you to leave mr. Trump alone . I would have had to answer that question, which was not public at the time and tell an entire Police Department and Police Reports are public record, i know that for a fact, i had sex with donald trump. Now Stormy Daniels spent a lot of time with the forensic artist, lois gibson. Gibson is listed as the worlds most successful at her job. Joining me is the author of faceless, voiceless. Guys lets flash the sketch back up. Michael avenatti was saying this thigh level of detail shows it more a real person. His words more proof that Stormy Daniels is not fabricating this whole story. What do you make of the sketch and what do you think about what he said . I think the sketch is great. It looks very real. Hes got high cheek bones, nice eyes, hes fit. Can you tell hes fit. Hes got that smirk on his face. Its a very highquality drawing from a very good forensic artist. I agree it looks real. Why is lois so good at her job . Why was she perfect for this task . She has the experience. Shes done very many sketches of criminals and shes good at what she does, she has a good personality. Its important to get the witness calm. You look into their eyes and they stay calm for the drawing and you trust each other and then you talk about the different triggers of the event, a threat, and, yeah, its a great drawing. Therefore, i had a lot of faith in what lois did. Describe the process between lois and Stormy Daniels. This is seven years after this alleged incident. Walk us through what lois had to do to jog her memory. Again, i could say what i would do to jog someones memory from seven years. Its triggers like 9 11 or princess diana. Anything dramatic. Like stormy said, it burns in your mind, the image. Things stay in your mind and you would talk about the triggers, what was the weather like, what were you wearing . Certain things can bring you back and you can get the image in someones head. If i asked you about 9 11, where you were, and i could probably bring you back there. Its about the eyes are the mirror of the soul. I would look into the eyes and feel when we had that confidence and trust and i would start asking the questions, bring out the fbi catalogue and go through and do the drawing. You know how close you are to getting an exact drawing by the expression on the witnesss face. So stormy said it was an excellent it looked exactly like him, then i believe it looked exactly like him. If a witness would Say Something like 60 , i wouldnt release the drawing. Its got to be really close to like an exact and then you would release it. You said it exactly right, Stormy Daniels had said his face is seared or burned in her memory. We shall see if theyre able to i. D. This man. Theyre offering up that 100,000 reward. Dinias trepkov, thank you for coming back. That brings up legal questions. I have two prominent attorneys to answer those. And also fox news finally responding to the news that sean hannity is a client of cohens. Well have that from fox in just a moment. Welcome back to cnn. Im brooke baldwin. Lets go back to the sketch of Stormy Daniels, the man she says threatened her in the parking lot to keep quiet about her affair with donald trump. Heres the sketch. With me, mark geragos, to you first. This as zero to do with the with anything. With anything. Why anything. Why are they doing this . Because avenatti is a genius when if comes to p. R. It looks like it could be a cousin of avenatti with a wig on or if you mated avenatti with ryan sea crest. There theres not going to be any play. Any statute of limitations has already run, although it is entertaining. Do you agree or disagree . I think its important to separate out this aspect of what Stormy Daniels lawyer is doing and what shes doing with this release and their case in general, which somehow has gotten kind of missixed up withe special counsel investigation and you have the Michael Cohen in the middle. This has nobody to do with any federal investigation. It has nothing to do other than avenatti and i give him props for it. Carry, weve been kcovering the hearings on the Michael Cohen raid. They wanted to have a special master or independent lawyer to be the one to cull through all that information. The government wants its own team, its called a taint Team Sometimes of agents or prosecutors to review the materials. Thats what the government argued to the judge. Michael cohen wanted Michael Cohens lawyers to be able to review all the material first and then the president intervened and he wanted his lawyers to review all the materials first. He didnt get his way. The judge resolved one piece of it, which she said im not granting the temporary restraining order, im nomt just s not just saying that the government cant do anything, but shes kind of moving her way through this process and right now she is going to have Michael Cohens lawyers be able to review some of the materials and shes deciding whether or not she also will appoint a special master to oversee this review. What theyre reviewing for is to separate out the Attorney Client privileged information to the extent that it there. What would be protected and what couldnt be used in the greater investigation. And they would identify what materials are actually Attorney Client privileged, if in fact there are some body of materials protected in that way. We know ten boxes of his materials were seized and electronics. The assistant u. S. Attorney says its a fast moving investigation. I want you to watch what Michael Avenatti said about all of this today. Theres no question in my mind that Michael Cohen, a, is going to be indicted within the next three months likely and, b, hes going to roll on the question. You think so . No question in my mind. Based on what . Based on my 18 years of experience, based on my experience in white collar cases and how they usually play out and based on the fact that Michael Cohen has a family, he has kids. I understand hes a fairly devoted father and hes not going to look at his wife and say im going to take a bullet for this president and serve decades, five years at least ten. At least ten in a federal penitentiary. Why would he do that . Do you think cohen flips on trump in. If the feds are executing a search warrant on the Lawyers Office and hes been cooperating, thats the 11th hour before an indictment. That just means thgenerally mea to get all their ducks in a row, hes probably on the precipice of an indictment. He checks every box of somebody who would flip. He said hed take a bullet for the president. Ive heard people tell me that so many times. I dont know michael, ive met him but he checks every box, ill say it again, for somebody who will flip. Okay. Mark and carrie, thank you both very much for that. Back to our breaking news here. On fox news, they have now released a statement, 24 hours after we learned right here that Michael Cohens unnamed third client was in fact fox house sean hannity. Go like a pro. Within just this past hour, fox news has broken its silence in the major courtroom revelation that fox news host sean hannity is the third mystery client of President Trumps embattled personal attorney Michael Cohen. Hannity never mentioned the fact that cohen was his lawyer. Fox news statement says fox news was and you aware of Sean Hannitys informal relationship with Michael Cohen and was surprised by the announcement in court yesterday. We have reviewed the matter and spoken to sean and he continues to have our full support. How about the words continues to have our full support. There are very few rules. He has an extreme amount of autonomy, which might be great for him but i dont think it great for viewers. He goes on and gives rants every night attacking mueller and the fbi, anybody who thinks is trumps enemy, doesnt seem to have much oversight or much in the way of standards. Now that we know about the cohen raid and this legal relationship, its even more curious and more controversial. I know fox is trying to put a stop to this by expressing support for him but i think it going to continue to raise questions in the news industry about why hannity is not held accountable at all. Can we talk about in other newsrooms one would be suspended, yanked off the air for a period of time . There would be some sort of action. I dont want to guess what it would be, but i do think there would be some sort of action at other outlets. What people want is consistency. Whats glaring here inconsistency. Imagine hill shiary clinton is president and Rachel Maddow was getting secret advice from the clinton lawyer. If maddow was under investigation like that, he would be going wild with, it talking about it nonstop. It so frustrating to most americans in this partisan wars is the lack of consistency, that hannity would erupt if the shoe was on the other foot. I gave that exact scenario to our friend bill carter and he agreed with you and said Rachel Maddow would have been punished and suspended. And isnt this about the protrump media world. The president has shelters from the storm and hannity is one of those shelters. Some of the other examples of this, web sites, radio hosts, companies, broadcasters, commentators that support the president , that have his back. The issue with this is hannity is one of the leaders of this protrump media world. He shares talking points that then get expressed throughout this world. On days where theres bad news for president , these shows give him backup, give him support so that, lets say, more indictments or certainly like that in the future. Trump will turn to the hannitys of the world, dont believe the real news, believe my supporters instead. Thats a new development in america. It wasnt like this 50 years ago and hannity is at the forefront of that. Coming up, the man who might know more details than Michael Cohen, Keith Shiller. Even though President Trumps personal attorney Michael Cohen is the one und under under criminal investigation and scrutiny but it is Stormy Daniels attorney who said someone knows more and his name is Keith Shiller and hes been the president s personal bodyguard back to 1999 and a former nypd detective and he tells the daily beast, there is no doubt that Keith Schiller knows where all of the bodies are buried next to Michael Cohen. If mr. Schiller ever turns states evidence, the impact on the president would be catastrophic. He is knee deep in all of this. Kate brick olay wrote about Keith Schiller today. Nice to have you on. And i know so much of the nations focus because of the investigation is Michael Cohen, but Keith Schiller, he went from basically trumps parttime watch man to head of security in six years. What roles i say roles, because it was multiple, but what roses did he play. He played the role of constant companion, close confident ant confidant and bodyguard and his procurer of women. He sent Karen Mcdougal and Stormy Daniels to meet with trump. He facilitated the communications and conversations. He was there every step of the way. Be more specific. When Stormy Daniels met President Trump and he invited her to his hotel room kate, forgive me. Speaking of the president , we have to listen to him. Hes speaking at maralargo with the Prime Minister of japan.
