They should be paying 2 germany. Germany is paying 1 . They should be pay 2ging 2 , ma more. But i think this, we have something much better. We have tremendous lng, liquefied natural gas, and a lot of the European Countries are wanting it including yourselves. Tremendous amounts are being sold to different places all over the world. But also to europe. And i think that that is really the way. If they want to spend a tremendous amount of money i do think this. And i would say hopefully nothing will happen, nothing negative hopefully. Well have a great relationship with russia, a great relationship with china and germany and everybody else. But i do think that germany is putting themselves at a tremendous disadvantage when 50, 60 or even 70 percent of their energy is being supplied by russia. I dont know how you can do that. You cant just let me explain it differently. Germany has the power to block it by not buying it. Germany made the decision to buy a tremendous percentage of their energy from russia. Germany, whether they should be doing that or not, they are the ones that have the power to block it. They shouldnt booif iuy it. Or if they want to, they can. But that is their decision. I think the german people are not very happy about it because it makes germany a hostage of russia. If things ever happened that were bad. Hopefully that does not happen. Iran will not start a war will you will defend itself. Well, i would think they would. Sure. I hope they defend themselves. I would think that they would defend themselves. Iran is not the same country. When i became president , iran was a terror all over the world. They had just made this horrible deal for the United States, the iran nuclear deal. I became president and terminated the deal and now iran has a lot of problems. I dont want them to be that way, but we are stopping their oil, we are topping a a lot of different things. We just stopped the steel, metals, all metals, all forms of metal metals. And they have a lot of problems. I dont want them to have problems. The problem could be solved, but you know what they have to do. And they didnt do it properly. The deal that president obama made was a horrible deal. It was a horrible deal. 150 billion, 1. 8 billion in cash, it was a horrible deal. And i terminated the deal. Very nicely, i terminated the deal. Since i terminated that deal, iran is not the same country. But with all of it being said, hopefully well be able to get along with iran. If we can, that is great. If we cant, that is great too. [ inaudible question ] venezuela is in flux. It is doing unbelievably badly. This was, mr. President , one of the ruichest countries, just shows you when you have a bad system, it became a socialistic system or worse. And now people dont have food, they dont have water, they dont have anything. It is a very sad thing. Were watching venezuela very closely. You tweet that had russia told you that they were taking out a large part of that military. Russia has denied that. Well, lets see who is right. Youll see in the end who is right. You just watch it. Okay . And well see who is right. Ultimately im always right. Go ahead. Mr. President , thank you very much. Great cooperation ill be meeting with putin at the g20, ill be meeting with president xi at the xwchg20, i be meeting with many of the leaders. [ inaudible question ] you people are so untrusting, so probably better if im would you like to be in the room . Would you like to be i can imagine that you would be. I think it is probably easier to have you people in the room because you people dont trust anything. You have great cooperation with president duda. Any comment from the first ladies . The first ladies know each other. They get along with each other. They are going out to lunch. Would you like to Say Something . It is great to have them here again. Im looking forward to talking with mrs. Duda about children, what they are facing in our country, what they are facing in poland as we did the first time. And we will continue to do so. Mr. President , [ inaudible question ] were looking at that actually. That is the kind of a relationship that we have with poland. We are looking very strongly at visa requirements with respect to poland. Well know pretty soon. Something could happen. Well talk about it during the press conference, but today very important agreement between our government was signed. Very important for this step. Big step. Mr. President , can you say what your success with the deal with mexico would be, how will you know if the deal is working . Because our country has been so successful over the last 2 1 2 years, its been incredible, our gdp numbers, our production numbers, our manufacturing, employment numbers, we have the most people working in our condition that weve ever had, were almost up to 160 million people. Weve never been close. And because the United States has become so success testimony testimony successful in terms of the economy of the United States, tremendous numbers of people are trying to come into our country. And im saying you cant do that. You have to come in legally and you have to come in through merit. Now, a lot of things are happening. But mexico stepped up to the plate, perhaps it was because of the tariffs. I would say perhaps being defined as 99 . But that doesnt matter because the president of mexico and i have a very, very excellent relationship. We spoke, his people were here for 2 1 2, 3 days working intensively on the agreement. And i think that it will mean a lot of a lot fewer people coming up. You just cant crash our borders like this. Mexico has very strong immigration laws. We have the worst immigration laws, the dumbest laws anywhere in the world. There is nothing close. But mexicos laws are as strong as they can be. Mexico is moving 6,000 troops to their southern border. That is a lot of troops. But that is what they have want to do. Because they want to produce. I think mexico really wants to produce. If mexico does a great job, then you wont have very many people coming up. If they dont, then we have phase two. Phase two is very tough. But i think that they will do a good job. Now, with all of that being said, if the democrats got together with me for 15 minutes, we could wipe out the loopholes and we wouldnt need anything from anybody. But right now, mexico is helping us much more on immigration than the democrats in the u. S. What is phase two . Phase two is a much tougher phase. Much tougher. For president duda with the flyover. I do. At 1 55, we will have the worlds greatest fighter jet, most advanced plane probably anywhere in the world, and at 1 55 to 2 00, we have to hurry because we have to make it so we will end with this question, well have two super f 35s flying and a second fly back and i think that they are going straight up. So they will put on a very small show for us. But it will be something. And were doing that because pl la poland has ordered 32 or 35 brant new f 35s at the highest level, the latest model. Aknd i congratulate you. That means that you have great taste. [ inaudible question ] the United States has a tremendous polish population. They were very much in favor, they liked me and i like them and a lot of them voted for trump. And ive always loved the polish people and ive always respected the polish people. They are very, very hard working and they are smart and they love their country and they love our country too. So im always in favor of poland. Thank you, sir. Thanks, everybody. Thank you, guys. Youve been listening to President Trump from the oval office covering a range of issues as he sits alongside president duda. I want bring in Kaitlan Collins and dana bash. President trump spoke about invoking executive privilege. Lets listen. I think that im not overly involved in that, that is really a legal matter. But i think when you have a census and youre not allowed to talk about whether or not somebody is a citizen or not, that doesnt sound so good to me. Can you imagine you send out a census and youre not allowed to say whether or not a person is an american citizen . In poland, they will say they are either polish or they are not, right . So i dont want to get you into this battle, but it is totally ridiculous that we have would a census without asking. But the Supreme Court will be ruling on it soon. I think when a census goes out, you should find out whether or not you have the right to ask whether or not somebody is a citizen of the United States. A controversial decision there because it is not a citizenship poll, it is a population poll. And some critic tis say this wo dissuade some people from being counted. But he also said that he will be meeting with Vladimir Putin at the g20. We did expect that. But he is confirming that. He also took on a report that internal polls from his own campaign showed that he was struggling in many states that he needed to win. What did you think about what you heard from the oval office . Yeah, fresh off the bat the regarding the polling, the president denied that. In fact he said the opposite of what our reporting has shown and that is that actually an internal poll conducted by the president s reelection effort actually showed that he was lagging in several key states falling behind people like joe biden and that when the president was briefed on that poll, it made him angry. The president denied that that poll exists. He said that the polls that showed him lagging will i said are fa are behind are fake and that every poll that they have internally shows him ahead. And we know that is not true based on people familiar with the internal polls had told us. Which they down played the numbers and said were so tfar away from the laektsz, that it is not a big deal. But the president denies that they even exist. And speaking about the meeting with president putin, something that the russians have not con firmed, the president said that they will be meeting at the g20 summit and he seemed to jokingly ask if rotteporters want to be the room. Because of course there are reports that he had only interpreter in the room and they did not disclose what they had discussed. So the president saying that reporters dont trust anything and so maybe they should be brought into the room. Though not known if he is just joking. Of course one of the biggest disputes of the day is over the question that was added to the census, the Citizenship Question and whether or not why it was added, the motive behind that, but the president there seemed to be condoning adding that question to the send census saye thinks it is ridiculous to not ask if someone is a u. S. Citizen. Of course democrats will have problem with that because they say adding that question suppresses the people who will come out and say that yes, they are living in the United States because they dont want to admit that they are living here illegally, that it will affect federal resources and of course resdrukting when it comes to representation in congress. But the president there seemed to give his endorsement to that question. But he said that he is not overly involved because that it is a legal matter. And obviously some of those things with the suppression would happen, but he seems to the issue to him, he actually seems to be condoning the idea of knowing who is a citizen and who is not even though the information is not supposed to be shared. That is not what someone taking the census would believe if they are filling on ultimate that question. Absolutely. It is something that we have not seen before. And that is why the Supreme Court is going to have to decide it. You know, involved or not, he has made his view extremely clear before and even more so just now. Which is that you should have to say whether you are a citizen of this country. So that is why there is a third branch of government and the judiciary will decide. And this is i would say a truthchallenged appearance that he would make. Everything from this report about the polls, which just goes in the face of what we know through our reporting. And also just through common sense that they are saying that they are winning in every state. That would defy even expectations of what would be normal. But lets also talk about he is sitting there with president duda, an appearance that he is affording this leader of poland that there is no way george w. Bush or barack obama would afford this president that appearance, considering this state of democratic back sliding that weve seen in poland. You have seen poland take staterun media and turn it into a mouthpiece into propaganda. They have forced retirement age of the Supreme Court lower in an attempt to not an attempt, to purge the Supreme Court. And then in the face of protests here, somewhat recently over the past year, they have prosecuted Peaceful Protesters and allowed them to be physically without recourse. But they are back sliding. What do you expect the leader of poland to say except what he said. He said that there is no problem with democracy in poland, no gambling in las vegas. I mean, it is just not believable on its face. But the important point that you brought up about the president , you know, having the lead erd of poland and this is the second visit that he and his wife have made to the u. S. And they are not only getting this Oval Office Meeting with the cameras in there and the money shot, if you will, reporting is that there could be f 35 fly jeefrs in hflyovers in his honor, also an economic decision because the u. S. Is hoping that poland will buy some of those planes from america. But having said all that, what is interesting about poland is that it is an example of how complicated so many of these relationships really are. Because at the same time, youre right, democratic and republican predecessors would make very clear maybe even sitting next to them, no, that is not how things should be done, there should be a democracy where were doing deals like this, there should be a free press, an independent judiciary. That is what most of Donald Trumps predecessors would did. Take the opportunity to show them how it is done. He didnt do that. But at the same time, poland is, you know, not exactly cozy with russia. And america, the Trump Administration, is hoping to get a base working to getting a base in poland because of that. And so it is a classic example of how k06rcomplicated so many these relationships are in terms of where they are geographically, in terms of their relationships with other adversaries, the notion of back sliding on democracy, that should just be a given for the u. S. Pld. At least historically speaking. Needed a fact check there. Thank you both. On the hill, the House Intelligence Committee has been holding its hearing on volume one of the Mueller Report for a few hours. One of the witnesses is andrew hk car a mccarthy, he has expressed screws that are more closely aligned with the gop. But listen to what he said about the now Infamous Trump tower meeting. I would just add that i think by taking the meeting and i dont think you need a lot of training for this by taking the meeting, you have made yourself beholden to putin in terms of however he wants to characterize it down the road so that even if nothing inappropriate happens at the meeting, you have that vulnerability as well. Our next guest is a member of both the 40us Oversight Committee and the House Intelligence Committee, democratic congressman worthy of Illinois Joining us from capitol hill. Congressman mccarthy said many things that i know that you would disagree with, but what did you think of that bit there that he was saying essentially there was a problem with the trump tower meeting at least on the issue of appearance in. Yeah, he was candid and protect in that particular instance. They should never have taken that meeting with the russian agent who was sent there to meet at trump tower in june of 2016. And he is correct that because they took the meeting, that could also be the subject of manipulation or compromising information in the future. The Intelligence Committee hearing is shaped up to be highly part is an. You have mccarthy who as weve noted by invited by republican, he testified that russian did not have the intent to help President Trump which is contradicting of the Mueller Report. And Stephanie Douglas also twisted muellers finding specifically about Paul Manafort. Lets listen. Can you elaborate on that . You said that the russians tasked the chairman chairman. Can you elaborate . They asked him to provide polling data. And like you said, i mean polling data isnt the keys to the kingdom, right . But it is a small step that illustrates his willingness to provide information to someone he knows that he is beholding to financially, ongoing lawsuit, fees that are owed, and he is willing to provide internal Campaign Information to a Foreign Government and to a person who was closely tied to the kremlin. And i think that is a great illustration of how the russians work. She is making a cognitive leap there because mueller never said that the russian government asked manafort to share that polling data or that the polling data ever made to the russian government. So how does this testimony that were hearing from both sides here serve to inform the American People and not just politicize this . Well, actually, i think that when you said the president s presence conference was a little truth challenged earlier, i would have to say that a little bit about mr. Mccarthys testimony today. With regard to what she described about the encounter between konstanin kilimnick and Paul Manafort, i actually did find that sharing of polling data to be problematic because konstanin kilimnick does have ties to the russian intelligence services. And so it was shared over a period of months. Yes, but the distinction shes making, and this is significant considering what her expertise is, is she is saying that the russian government tasked him with this. She is not saying that just because of the sharing. Yeah, so basically it is h assertion. I did not see it laid out in the report that basically a russian ollie xwaigarch who received so the polling data was somehow asking for it on behalf of the russian government. We dont know for sure. But what is for sure the case, that at the time that the polling data was shared, Paul Manafort was chairman of the Trump Campaign and to the extent that this was sorry to interrupt. Im not dispakuting the facts y are laying out. But the question is the highly politicized pairing of people who are testifying today, how does that serve the process to inform . Reporter i think that you have to allow witnesses to say what they need to say or want to say on a certain topic. However one thing is for sure which is that i think the American People need to read the Mueller Report and this is an excellent to explain the Mueller Report but they are both diverging from the miller report. Some of these things are not explaining the Mueller Report, some of these things are going beyond the scope and the findings of the Mueller Report. Well, i think that for the beginning part of for much of the hearing, they actually adhered to what was said in the Mueller Report in volume one. Ill give you one example. The counterintelligence investigation that was started was not because of some kind of deep state conspiracy in doj, it was started because of George Papadopoulous sharing information about a plan to release Hillary Clintons emails. And so this is the type of information are that i think needed to get out there and it did during the hearing. Congressman, thank you so much for joining us. Thank you. On the other side of the capital, the president s eldest son donald trump jr. Has just finished testifying before the senate Intelligence Committee. His hearing was private, but he was expected to be questioned about the trump tower meeting and as well as the secret plan to build a trump tower in moscow. Lets get to manu raju live for us from the hill. I understand you have new information about the hearing. Reporter yeah, were learning more about the 2 1 2 closed door testimony that donald trump jr. Had with the senate Intelligence Committee. There were questions about his past testimony and whether it lined up with the robert Mueller Report and what he knew about that trump tower meeting. In the runup to the 2016 meeting, he had initially told congress that he had informed Paul Manafort and Jared Kushner the only individuals about that meeting, the Mueller Report then raised questions after it cited separate testimony from rick gates saying perhaps donald trump jr. Was informing larger groups of people about about that meeting because he had mentioned with a group of individuals that he had a lead about dirt about the clinton foundation. Also the Mueller Report raised questions about his past testimony involving the pursuit of the trump tower moscow project. He initially said that he was only peripherally aware of that project, cited Michael Cohen who now is in jail who said that he had briefed donald trump jr. More extensively about that meeting. So were learning what he said about those topics. According to a person close to donald trump jr. Who talked to our colleague, he said that he didnt know what rick gates may have been talking about there when it came to what he told individuals before that 2016 meeting. He said he only recalled talking to Jared Kushner and Paul Manafort, not a larger group of individuals. He also down played Michael Cohen who may have told them about the trump tower moscow project. He said there were hundreds of emails that he would get, hundreds of possible deals where only one goes through. And he said according to the source that in send years of Michael Cohen trying to make deals, the chant of him making a deal was less than 1 . Soessentially he down played the information and dismissed Michael Cohens allegation that he had been briefed extensively. And when he left the hearing, i asked him whether or not he changed any of his testimony and he said he did not and took a shot at Michael Cohen. There was nothing to be changed. There needed to be clarification because Michael Cohen who less h. Lets not forget who is serving time right now, im happy to do that. I dont think i changed anything of what i said because there is nothing to change. Im glad this is finally over and were able to put final clarpi ity clarity on that. Reporter he was also asked he was concerned about perjury and e and he said not at all. Were told that they did not discuss the air force one statement that came out after it was revealed that he had that meeting with russians that the story that came out in 2017 initially in the new york times. He also didnt talk about the hush money payments to keep silent the alleged Extramarital Affairs that he had in the runup to the 2016 elections. Those did not come up. But he tried to push back at allegations that he was not truthful in the past about the two key topics and he believes that he did just that. Manu raju, thank you. Liberal americans are increasingly embracing socialist policies everyone as republicans are using them as a political weapon. In a speech next hour, Bernie Sanders explains his support for democratic socialism. He gave dana ba nthat in a in a preview. What i mean is creating a government that works for everybody. Not controlled by a handful of the wealthy. And in america, it means that we have certain economic rights that are human right. Health care to my mind is not a privilege, it is a human right. That is what democratic Socialism Means to me. It means that if you work 40 hours a week in this country, you should not be living in poverty. Dana bash is here with us as well as jeff weaver who is a Senior Adviser to the sanders campaign. So to you first jeff, because you splay done the interview with Bernie Sanders, but he has seen the speech. The floor is yours. So what should we be expecting . Describe the objective of the speech. I think the objective is to lay out the connection between what Bernie Sanders says is advocating for the country and long tradition of american political thought, much of it rooted in the new deal. The Unfinished Business of the new deal that fdr laid out in his 1944 state of the Union Address that even though we have secured civil rights and certain political rights, that in order for noerk reach its potential, we need to guarantee certain economic rights and dr. Martin luther king jr. Spoke about this as well. And i think Bernie Sanders will tie himself to that long tradition in american politics. I think that we can say that that theme is going to go over very well with h very well with democrats. But then the word socialism, were looking at recent poll socialism not compatible with american opinion, but not overwhelmingly negative. So not as inspirational as what jeff was describing. So is this something that will be well received by democrats broadly . Well see. This is the Bernie Sanders that the democratic electorate and country certainly learned a lot about for the first time even though he has been talking about it for decades and decades in 2016. And the fact that he wants to go out and put his stamp on this and explain what democratic socialism is again even though he did a speech like this four years ago is quite telling. And he says in the excerpts that the Campaign Provided that he understands that the republicans are using the socialism part of democratic socialism against him and against democrats. And he is trying to define it in a different way. Having said that, he is very clear in a way that i dont think maybe Elizabeth Warren and a couple others are, but he is very clear in a way most others are not what he wants to do. And it is redistribute wealth. Correct me if im wrong, but he is very, very open about it, that the 1 , the richest people in the country should not be able to keep all this wealth when the people who cant afford to eat or cant afford just basics of life should be able to get some of that because he says that it is an economic right. It is a very specific way of thinking which is not totally in line with all of the democratic candidates. But this goes back to the conversation about poland and slipping back. The speech will lay out a there is a Worldwide Movement toward authoritarianism and right wing thinking and device and xenophobia and racism. And it is all being fueled by the increasing concentration of wealth at the top and desperation at the bottom. And this is not unlike the challenge that confronted the world in the 1920s when we had this huge explosion wealth at the top and desperation at the bottom and people were grasp dating to the right wing people with disastrous results. And in the United States of america, donald trump represents that. This is not unique to america. And Bernie Sanders is saying what we did then to pull the rug out from underneath right wing extremists in the 1930s, we need to do it again and that is how we defeat them. We were all shocked about the nazis in charlottesville. There was a mass rally in new york city and we defeated it by addressing the desperation people were feeling. But President Trump is using this socialism as a weapon against Bernie Sanders and a weapon against democrats. We heard him say it yesterday in his appearance in iowa at his campaign rally. To your point, are you talking about battling authoritarianism and he will draw these connections back to that, but i do want to focus on some of the things that he has been for in the past. Because i think that it is important especially as we listen to Bernie Sanders himself answering a question back in april at the town hall, the cnn town hall that featured him when a young woman questioned him as there are many even democrats concerned about anything that has a whiff of communism or socialism. Lets listen. The Democrat Party is really now the socialist party. The democrats have never been more out of touch with the mainstream. They are totally out of touch. And it is really easy as a socialist to say when you are doing well lets do this, well take this, well give you free this, and then nothing is free. You are paying for it. Other people are paying for it. There is nothing free. They will destroy this country. Well be another venezuela. You see what is going on. My fathers family left soviet russia in 1979 fleeing from some of the very same socialist policies that you seem eager to implement in this country. So my question is how do you rectify your noegts tion of socm with the failure socialism in every country that has tried [ applause ] thank you for asking that question. Is it your assumption that i supported or believe in authoritarian communism that existed in the soviet union . I never have. I supposed it. I believe in a vigorous democracy. I do think that it is important to look Bernie Sanders traveled to russia, he travelled to cuba. Ronald reagan was 2r56travel russia. Yeah, to be cleerp ar he did espouse the policies that they have there. And some of these countries either were our evolved to be authoritarian countries. In cuba, he lauded the education, the Literacy Movement there when sort of ignoring the fact that literacy was actually forced relocation for some people from cities to the countryside to force them to make people in the countryside literate. These are some of the things that and you are jumpinging to defend him on this. These are the things that he is going to have to answer for. For sure. And he has traveled the would. He has been to many countries, some of which are allied with us, some of which we are not. He tried to build people to people connections in countries that were not youre saying that was his only aim . Well, certainly in going to russia, it certainly was. That was a city sister relationship set up. There was a sister city relationship with the city in nicaragua. And cuba abo. I dont know about the cuba one. But he did point out that some of nice places there were some things that were good, you about he was also very clear about political freedom, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, all these other issues that the lack of these things and these places was a real problem. Because believe me, in my role ive had to go back and look at all of them. But i would say this about the socialism attack that will come from the republicans. Which is thely pock tra ly pohh. They are corporate socialists. When bank need a baltouilout, i there. Executives got millions of dollars. When the Oil Companies need subsidy, they get them. And that is something that according to the excerpts that he will touch on in a very extensive way which ironically could be given by somebody like donald trump or a donald trump surrogate, the notion of the fact that, you know, everything is broken and the little man is not being taken care of. The policies to fix it are obviously quite different, but it is the same kind of message that is used to appeal to people who are feeling like completely left out. And that is something that does generate a lot of enthusiasm across the board, across the board of the democratic electora electorate. Question is whether he can connect that to the other issues and the label. And real quickly, can he rebrand what democratic socialism and some of the stigma that comes along with that word even if some of the policies are gaining popularity, can he do that do you think . In one speech . I dont think so. But i guess you got to try. And one thing we do have to give Bernie Sanders credit for is that he has been talking about these things for decades. And the party has come along with which he was not officially involved in because he is an independent, but the party has come towards him in all those years. Very good point. And he has carried the label now for decades. All the public polling shows him beating donald trump around the country. If he is the nominee of the party based on you will at public polling, he will be president of the United States. So to the extent that people have some concerns about it, it is not showing up in the polls in terms of the head to heads. All right. Were a ways away, but well keep watching. Democratic president ial candidate joe biden leading the pack in nevada according to a new Monmouth University poll. But number two could surprise you. Biden 36 , Elizabeth Warren 19 which is above Bernie Sanders at 13 . Pete buttigieg was polling at 7 , Kamala Harris has 6 . Patrick murray is with the polling institute. Thanks for being with us. Tell us why you think that warren is ahead of sanders at this point. I think that there are two reasons. One is nevada is a very low turnout caucus state which means that it is populated with party activists. That is the base that she appeals to. She doesnt appeal to the first time caucusgoers, it the party base. But the other part is that the issue picture has changed over the past few weeks. We asked nevada voters as we asked everywhere else, what are your top issues in deciding who to support. And at the top of the list we have health care, 41 , we also have the environment and Climate Change at 24 . And immigration and reproductive rights are the two pa ththat po. Health care the environment has been the same everywhere else weve polled. Reproductive rights doing really well right now. It is because that issue has come to the forefront particularly with the move in a number of states to outright ban abortion. And i think that helped her as a woman candidate in particular with this and that is why we see the number popping up right now. Patrick murphy, thank you so much for patrick murray, thank you so much for explaining this to us as always. My pleasure. And for now, democrats are taking the cue from speaker pelosi, letting multiple investigations into trump playout through courts instead of formal impeachment. House has approved the resolution to let the Judiciary Committee go to court to enforce subpoenas like the one against don mcgahn who so far has refused to testify. But the resolution applies to other committees as well, meaning democrats could go straight to courtney time that someone defies a subpoena and they dont have to have the floor vote first. Former counsel to attorney general Kerry Cordero and laura coates. They are heading to court to try to enforce a subpoena against don mcgahn and how long could this take and could they prevail. It will take a while and frankly if you are not a democrat in congress, kick the can down the road and have this facade of powered and it could be resolved knowing this is important to figure out the rest of the investigation and the courts are aware of the time line of democracy and a looming election and how important it is. And yet it is going to slow. Is there an appeals process also, kerry, that could drag this out. It is the process of enforcement. The vote in the house was a procedural issue instead of every time now a committee wants to go to court to enforce a subpoena instead of having the entire house vote on it, a Small Committee of leadership will be able to authorize it. If a judge rules is there another say for the Trump Administration or don mcgahn or is that it. No, sure, they certainly the Court Process still applies. So if a Committee Takes it to court, they go to the District Court and i would assume that the administration is going to challenge these as far they can so they could then the appellate process will still be available to them but all this does is enables the committees, if they want to go to court, to be able to do so faster without having to keep taking votes in the full house. If hes forced to testify, don mcgahn has options, right . He could take the fifth amendment. He doesnt have to provide information. But is that something that you would expect especially considering hes shared so much information with the special counsel. If hes compelled by a judge to adhere to the subpoena, what do you how would this play out. No one should expect a white House Counsel to plead the fifth. Think about what that is saying. Someone who is to uphold the integrity of the office of the president , i may or may not have an issue here and the president s comments about those who take the fifth. But in reality hes given so much information and over 30 hours he spent with Robert Mueller and the president was quick to say i did not stop that and i want him to be forthcoming and whether it will come to pass is a different story. But one would expect even given john dean on monday, the breadth and acts the white House Counsel should have had in conversations should be available to the American People but the privilege issue is going to come into place. It doesnt seem like he would plead the fifth. I dont see an argument that hes worried about his own culpability. This is because he was the white House Counsel, he is able to make an argument that he has to adhere to these assertions of executive privilege and so hes just going to sit back and wait until a court says, no, actually, you really need to comply with it and then i would expect that he would testify if it got to that point. Well see if it does. Carrie cordero and laura coates, thank you. President trump is expected to speak any moment. Were going to take it live next. Moving . Thats harder now because of Psoriatic Arthritis. But youre still moved by moments like this. Dont let Psoriatic Arthritis take them away. When i needed to create a better visitor experience. Improve our workflow. So were expected any moment to see a signing ceremony at the white house. But right now were awaiting a flyover of f35s as the president has polands president visiting the white house. Do we have video of this right now . Were trying to get this together. But President Trump is coming to an agreement with poland president who is at the white house to talk defense troop increases energy. I want to bring in cnn military and diplomatic admiral john kirby and were waiting because this is going to be something, right . This is going to be this is going to be pretty neat. Something, yes. It is a little bit of a theater. It is. But tell us what were expecting to see here. So in conjunction with this agreement to rotate more american troops to poland, they will have a couple of f35s fly overhead. The polish are looking at buying they want to buy as many as 35. This is a 90million dollars aircraft and not clear whether they will get sticker shock and do that. But it is unusual to see military tactical aircraft like this flying over downtown d. C. It is a fairly significant logistical hurdle to overcome. Here we go. This is the joint strike fighter. It is. So tell us about this plane. This is the most modern fifth generation aircraft in the pentagon veechinventory. And it is a program caught with fraught things to overcome and it is showily and surely getting back on track. Each service has a portion, the air force and navy has a version to land and take off from aircraft carriers an the marine corp have vertical takeoff and landings like the harrier jet. Im told this version of the f35 flying now that were seeing the video is the marine corp version. I dont know why they chose this version but it is. And from your military background with this flight over the white house, do you have any questions or concerns about how this is being used as we see the first lady of poland and the u. S. And the president s there waving at the joint strike fighter. But do you have any concerns about what is really an unusual appearance . I do. I think it is just theater. I think trump is coming off his visit from dday and normandy and he likes the flyovers and wowed by the trappings of the military in particular aircraft and so i think he wanted this more for show than anything else. And that bothers me. They had to make changes around the air space for the d. C. And capitol area which is a very busy commercial air space corridor and they had to make adjustments for that and im not sure that was an appropriate use of taxpayer dollars and time. Do you think that in itself, the appearance of the joint strike fighter, is something that might sway poland into buying more if you are concerned about the 90 million cost. I dont think the flyover will change their calculus. They want this jet. And we want them to want this jet. The russians wont like it if they have the f35 and they should want this technology in the air but i dont think the fly over itself will effect the decision. It will come down to the cost and how are they going to be able to buy and maintain these very sophisticated aircraft. Admiral kirby, thank you very much. That is it for me. You could say it is another part of the trump 20 playbook, insulting nicknames and claims on twitter that polls are fake news and warnings that his political rival will help the u. S. Slide into socialism. This was his latest jab while in iowa. More than 100 democrats in congress have signed up for the Bernie Sanders government takeover of health care, democrats also support the 100 trillion green new deal. How about that beauty. The green new deal. The Democrat Party is really now the socialist party. And any minute now the man President Trump name checked, vermont senator, Bernie Sanders is set to push back on the president and define socialism on his own terms and he gave a preview to dana bash this past weekend. I think it is important for the American People to understand what my definition is of democratic socialism. It certainly is not how donald trump defines it. But what i believe when we talk about democratic socialism is,
