Donald trump now doing three, maybe even starting to do four rallies a day as he tries to complete the circuit for the last 16 days remaining in this election campaign. Get as many people out to the poll as possible. 16 battleground states. Donald trump leads in five. One of those is the Buckeye State of ohio where he leads Hillary Clinton in the reel clear policy averaged by slightly thesz than one percentage point. A mustwin state for him. Very enthusiastic crowd. Hell be talking to them about what he talked about early this morning in gettysburg and laid out his contract for the american voters, contrast between his policies and Hillary Clintons and where he wants to take the country and why he should become president. Also airing a list of grooenss vowing that hes going to sue the dennnc for allegedly trying incite violence in his rallies and the 11 women who have alleged Sexual Misconduct with him. Here is what e he said the morning. If they can fight someone like me who has unlimited resources to fight back, just look at what they can do to you, your jobs, your security, your education, your healthcare, the violation of religious liberty. The theft of your second amendment. In addition to a list of grievance, donald trump also laid out a list of policy proposals that hell begin to enact on day one of his presidency, should he be lucky enough to prevail. Including tax cuts, repeal and replace obamacare. Term limits for members of congress and ethic reform in washington. He would begin to negotiate trade deals, including nafta. Appoint a conservative justice or at least nominate a conservative justice for the Supreme Court and at school choice, eliminate common core and work on Border Security. And unveiled a new proposal for stiff penalties on repeat offenders who cross the border illegally. It establishes a two year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence. This is people coming in illegally, for illegally reentering the United States after a previous deportation. And a five year mandatory minimum for illegally reentering for those with felony conviction, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations. Much of what donald trump proposed today could be accomplished through executive action but the big ticket items such as tax rompl, repealing and replacing obamacare and of course his next point, should he elected, to the Supreme Court all requires congressional action. So that would be a much heavier lift than the other agenda items. It is highly unusual to have both members of the democratic ticket campaigning together. And that is exactly what we are seeing here today in battleground pennsylvania. First stop as you mentioned is pittsburgh, where we expect clinton and kaine to rally supporters to get to the polls for early voting. Also to try to make sure donald trump does not close the deal here in pennsylvania in the final days of the campaign. The latest real clear politics average recent polls in the keystone state has clinton with a six point edge but they are not taking anything for granted. Clinton has been blasting trump for not saying 100 hell accept the results on november 8th. Thats true no matter who you support in this election. Whether or not you support me or you support my opponent, together we must support american democracy and the country that has given every one of us so many opportunities. When clinton and kaine get to philadelphia later, it will be after receiving the endorsement of the philly inquirer which published it has become clear trump could be a dangerous president. We have concern about clinton too, including unwillingness to share transcripts of her speeches she made to wall street firms. Goes on the to say her experience as the first advocate, first lady, u. Take this from two perspective, inside the beltway and from that of the voters. What would you say is the most damaging piece of information leaked in the deleted batch of emails, given that were what, 17 days from election day. Right. Well there is not one single bomb shell that merged. So far weve seen 26,000 emails. The biggest problem for the Clinton Campaign at this point is that it is just a drip, drip, drip of new emails every single day. So each day they wake up and there are another 1200 emails being released. Another 2,000 emails being released. They have no way of knowing what still to come. There could be a bomb shell but each day were seeing little revelations how the clinton advisors interact with Hillary Clinton. Concerns within their own kpab. We see clinton advisors talk about some of their misgivings about whether shes too secretive, about whether shes unwilling to apologize. Just the fact they are having to deal with this every day is problematic for the campaign. Drip, drip, drip can cause erosion. Does this make it more difficult for clinton to win over Bernie Sanders support irseers lets . In spite of him saying his movement that it is now safe to be with her. I think these emails do reinforce some misgivings about Hillary Clinton. So if you are inclined to think shes not trustworthy or relatable. There are things in the emails that kind of reinforce those ideas but for most voters they are not sifting through the emails and they are probably at this point suffering from email fatigue. As you know we of course have seen 55,000 of Hillary Clintons own emails from the state department. And now were sifting through what promises to be 50,000 more from john podesta, Clintons Campaign chairman. So at some point a lot of voters are probably agreeing with Bernie Sanders in they dont care about her damn emails anymore. So it is just a question of how interest voters really have at the end of the day and more than a 00,000 emails when all is said and done. Have we reached the point in the email leaks where even, you know, Hillary Clintons ardent supporters say i cant. And they dont even bother voting to the point where, you know, substantial low turnout could ultimately cause mrs. Clinton the keys to the white house. Or maybe Hillary Clinton goes through the next 17 days without any problems and she wins by a landslide. Who knows. Right. Well in some ways it feels like Hillary Clinton is trying to run out the clock. She has a lead many in many polls and has benefitted enormously from the fact that these email releases have been juxtaposed against donald trump talking about the rigged election and against him being accused of Sexual Misconduct. What might have been a major issue in these emails at a different point in the campaign or against a different political opponent has been overshadowed by some of the problems that donald trump is having. I think that a lot of Hillary Clinton voters are motivated to go out and vote in part because of whats happening with donald trump and so the emails may not have the impact they might otherwise have in, you know, what has been a cliche in a normal election year. This is far from normal. Okay. Before i let you go, do you think there is any will come any point when mrs. Clinton, even if she would be president clinton that she plans on addressing any of the stuff weve discovered either publicly. Reinforce again should she ride out the next 17 day, win the election this is all hypothetical and becomes president clinton. Should she address the american people, this is what you heard. This is where i stand. And kind of clear it up really kind of once in and for all. That could be a wise strategy and so far we havent heard a lot from her on the subject of the wikileaks emails beyond her just saying that the russians did this and this is russia trying to interfere with a u. S. Election. And so she hasnt addressed the contents of them in thanyway. She may be able to get through next 17 days but inevitably shell have to answer reporters question. Even if she survives the next 17 days and goes on to win the election she could enter the white house as a very unpopular president. And this group has falsely taken credit for attacks before. The department of Homeland Security and the fbi are investigating whether this came from the russian or Chinese Government or whether it was a criminal ring of cyberhackers. Yesterdays attack came in three waives, beginning at 7 00 a. M. Affecting the eastern sea board and west to california by the end of the day. The wellplanned and wellexecuted attack managed to shut down dozens of websites, including some of the worlds most popular. Amazon, netflix, airbnb, twitter, reddit, spotify and pain paypal. Hackers unleashed a ddos. Hit wit an onslaught of junk traffic overwhelming the servers until they crashed. Hackers in this case took control of tens of millions of every day household smart things connected to the internet like web cams to Baby Monitors and redirected their data to overwhelm these websites. Fridays attack targeted dyn, a companys servers act as a switchboard guiding internet traffic and providing serves to some of americans biggest companies. Smart phone, smart refrigerator. Your ip connected to the internet surveillance camera. All of these things now become an army of ants creating this deluge of traffic and overwhelming the resources in a way they never anticipated. Ive known her now for more than 20 years when she was really young. And ive seen that same cando spirit. She just gets up every day and what can she do to fight for healthy heier neighborhoods. To keep our kids healthy. Fight for cleaner air and cleaner water and help people make the most of i our own lives and now shes running for senate because like tim and i she believes our economy should work for everyone, not just those at the top. Katy is a exactly the kind of partner we need the the senate but more importantly shes exactly the kind of senator that pittsburgh and western pennsylvania need in the senate. We have got to get things done for the people of pennsylvania and america. I think its clear when you look at katys opponent. He still refuses to stand up to donald trump. Now, you know, a lot of republicans have. They have had the grit and the guts to stand up and say he does not represent me. But donald attack a grieving gold star family. He heard donald called mexican immigrants rapists. He heard him say terrible things about women. He heard him spread the lie that our first black president wasnt really born in america. Now, how much more does pat toomey need to hear . If he doesnt have the courage to donald trump after this, can you be sure hell stand up to you when it counts against powerful interests . So, you know, when i look at this, im thinking to myself, we got work do in washington. And i know it is not easy. I understand weve got some real challenges. I believe we can do it. I wouldnt be standing here. Tim wouldnt be me. We need people in washington who put you first. Getting up every day thinking about middle class families worry about where you are going to get your kids to college how you are going to take care of mom and dad because they are failing and what are you going to do for them . How are you going to be able to deal with all the challenges. That is what ive tried to do my entire life. That is who you should be electing, people who care about you, care about your family, your children. Now, as tim said he asked if any of you watched the debate on wednesday. Well, ill tell you that was the third and last time i will ever have to debate donald trump. Think about this. I have now spent four and a half hours on stage with donald proving once again i have the stamina to be president and commander in chief. [ cheers and applause ] and after every one of those debates people said how did you do that . And, you know, really, you just have to to be of good cheer when you find yourself in a situation like that. You are in front of 50, 60, 70, 80 Million People so no matter what he was saying, i just kept thinking, of all the people ive met throughout this campaign. Just earlier in the day i met henry over there. Henry is on top of his dads shoulders. And helpry gave me a note theying that he hoped id be president. You know i really want to be president for all of the kids in america, to do everything i can to help you. I also did have a chance to talk about some of the important concerns that people have shared with me. From the very first day i started this campaign back in april of 2015 people have been telling me whats on their minds. And it is one of the greatest honors. You know, sometimes it is just fleeting. Ill be in a coffee shop shaking hands or later on ill come down, shake hands on a rope line. Or just running into somebody. And that person, that man or woman or that young person takes a moment to stop. And, you know, looks into my eyes. I can tell they are trying to take my measure. And i am grateful that they take their vote, their choice so seriously. And then they might Say Something like i have a really terrible problem infamily. My son or my daughter has gotten addicted to opiates or to heroin. What are you going to do about it . Or maybe they will say my brother has schizophrenia. And we cant afford to get him the kind of consistent care he needs. Or maybe they will say i am a diabetic. And the drug company has just raised the cost of insulin. And i cant afford it. What are you going to do about it . That is the right question to ask anybody running for president because at the end of the day this is about you. As i said the other night, we are going to invest in the middle class. We are going to grow this economy from the middle out and the bottom up. Not the top down. And we are going to make sure we produce enough good jobs with rising incomes so that every single person, especially every single young person in america can go as far as your hard work and talent will take you. Now, i got to say i believe in hard work. That is how i was raised. I believe that you got to work for what you get in life. But i think we got to knock down some of the barriers that stand in the way of people getting ahead and going as far as they should. And for me that starts believing, my believing in our country. You know, theres been no other place in the history of the world that has given so much opportunity to so many. Do we have problems . Yeah we have problems. Do we vidhave challenges . Of course we do. Were human beings. But boy, there is no more blessed place. And donald trump did something the other night no no other president ial nominee has ever done of either party. He refused to say that he would respect the results of this election. Now, make no mistake about this, my friends, he is threatening our democracy. Look, ive lost elections. You dont feel very good the next day, believe me. But we know in our country the difference between leadership and dictatorship. Right . [ cheers and applause ] you know, the peaceful transition of power is one of those things that sets us apart. And whether you support me or you support my opponent, together we must show that we support american democracy. And i believe both donald trump and i should be grateful for the opportunities that our country has given us. And the best way to demonstrate that we support our democracy is to turn out and vote. And there is an inspiring story being written by people across america right now. We have just reached a milestone. More than 200 million americans are registered to vote in this election. And do you know what . That includes 50 more than actually. More than 50 million young people. More than ever before. I find that a very hopeful sign. And here in pennsylvania, hundreds of thousands of more voters are registered than were in 2012. So what does it tell us . I think it tells us, no matter how much negativity is out there, something exciting is happening right now. People are coming together, democrat, republican, independent, all to reject hate and division. And in the states where they can, people are motivated to vote early to defend core American Values and embrace a future where every person counts. Everyone has a place. Everyone can contribute. Because you see zwiet what donald trump may think, most americans really believe that we can do better. Most americans really believe women should be respected. Most americans really believe that workers should be paid fairly [ cheers and applause ] most americans believe that the United States should work with our allies to lead the world and keep us safe. So the energy we are seeing in the final weeks of this campaign is about more than winning an election. It is about standing up for the kind of country we want for ourselves and for our children. And it is about the lessons we want to teach our sons and daughters. I want all of you to know that if tim and i are fortunate enough to be your president and Vice President , that we will work with everyone. Now, i imagine here in Alleghany County. And if you are from further west you probably know people who are thinking about voting for donald trump. And here is what i want you to tell them. I want you to tell them that i understand that they need a president who cares about them, will listen to them. And i want to be their president too. And because whether you agree or disagree with me, whether you vote for me or vote against me, i believe we can disagree without being disagreeable. Ive seen that. I no it can happen. And i know there are a lot of people right here this pennsylvania who have a lot of questions. They want to know how do we move forward better . They want to know whats going to happen to their town where there used to be a lot of jobs and there arent as many anymore. They are upset about what they see happening around them. I get that. But anger is not a plan. And we need to work to together. We need plans that will help us deal with the legitimate concerns and questions that people have here in pennsylvania. And that is what our whole country needs now. That is what i will try do. Im not going pretend that we can just snap our fingers and solve our problems. That doesnt happen in the real world. But i know we can make progress together. And the choice we face in this election is stark. Especially when it comes to the economy. Tim and i believe that when the middle class thrives, america thrives. And when we invest in working families in the middle class, in Small Businesses we can make the economy work again for everybody. Now, i think it is fair to say that both donald trump and pat toomey have a different perspective. They believe and they believe this that if you give trillions of dollars, that is trillion with a t. Trillions in tax cuts to the wealthy, millionaires and billionaires and corporations, it will all trickle down to everybody else. Hasnt worked before and its caused us a lot of messes that weve had to clean up. And ive been privileged to see president s up close and personal. Married to one. Thats right right. Worked for one. And here is what i know. That when you focus on helping the middle class, you end uplifting everybody. When you focus on helping the top, you help the top. That is not good enough. Donald likes to say hes on the side of American Workers but his actions tell a different story. Yes hes bought cheap chinese steel and aluminum for his construction projects. He should be buying Good Americanmade steel that supports Good American jobs. Id like to hear donald explain to American Steel workers filing for unemployment why he put chinese Steel Workers to work. Instead of Steel Workers here in pennsylvania. And for all of his talk about putting america first, hes made many of his products in 12 different countries. So if he wants to make America Great again, why doesnt she start by making things in america again. And we now know he hasnt paid a dime in federal income taxes for years. He says that makes him smart. Well, i dont know how smart you have to be to lose a billion dollars in a year in the first place. Especially, answer me this, how do you lose a billion dollars when you are in the casino business. Never could figure that out. But what it means is that every one of us here has paid more in federal income taxes than a billionaire has. That is wrong, and we are going to end those kind of loopholes and gimmicks. Ill tell you what, it also means that donald has contributed zero, zero for our military. Zero for our vets. Zero for pell grants to help young people go to college, zero for our highways, zero for everything. And yet he stands up on the stage and he criticizes america. Well, it is unfair and it is wrong. With your help we are going the make the biggest investment in new jobs since world war ii. Jobs and infrastructure. Our roads, bridge, tunnel, port, airport, water systems, they all need help and those are a lot of good jobs waiting to be done. Jobs that cant be exported out of pennsylvania. I blooif we can bring manufacturing back to the United States. That is why well invest 10 billion in a make it in America Partnership that bring together workers and unions and businesses and universities and community colleges. Some country is going to take the lead with precision machining. Some country is going to take the lead with 3d printing. We invented both of those technologies. We should take the lead. And we should have the jobs. We are also going to fight with Renewable Energy jobs. And were going to help Small Businesses, which will create 2 3 of all the new jobs in america. And were going to defend your right to organize and bargain collectively for higher wages and benefits. Dont let anybody fool you, my friends. Assaults on Worker Rights and on unions is an assault on the middle class. It is time to say loudly and clearly right to work is wrong for workers and wrong for america. So ive set some big goals. Im excited about what were going to do. And its all going to put people to work right here, and sometimes folks say to me, well, how are you going to get that done. You go to the congress. First of all, i hope were going to elect some more democrats. That would be number one, but number two, i think its going to be a very simple question. Are members of congress, members of the senate, going to be on the side of the rich, the powerful, and the wealthy or on your side . And you know what . Theyre going to have to answer that question. Because if they stay beholden to the special interests, if they continue to do the bidding of the lobbyists and the lawyers and others who stand there outside their doors ive been in the senate. Ive seen it. I know it. If theyre going to continue to do the work of those who are already privileged in america, then i want to make sure that they dont come back to washington after the next election. And look, were in a great, Great High School here, and im so proud to be here. And so were going to do more to be a good partner with education, especially with educators. Were going to start with universal prek. We want good schools with good teachers in every zip code so every kid gets a worldclass education. And i want us to bring Technical Education back to high school. I think it was a mistake when we took it out. There are a lot of good jobs that you can be prepared for in todays economy coming out of high school, maybe going to community college, going to an apprenticeship program, and i want to lift up that work. A Fouryear College degree should not be and is not the only way to have a good job with a rising income and a satisfying life. Were going to make public colleges and universities tuition frees for any families making less than 125,000 a year. And were going to help you pay down your college debt. Its going to be great to help you pay it back as a percentage of your income at your job so youre never on the hook for more than you can afford. And boy, do i care a lot about our constitution. And maybe its because on your behalf i went to 112 countries as your secretary of state. And i met a lot of people who envy us because weve been so steady and so committed to our constitutional system and our values. And what i hope is that you care as deeply as our founders did, as our parents and grandparents did, because maybe they came from somewhere elsewhere they werent treated right. Maybe they saw firsthand what it meant to be deprived of the rule of law. You know, every time donald trump says he wants to jail his opponent, meaning me, i think to myself, you know, we dont do that in america. We actually have laws and courts and an independent judiciary. Or when he blows up at a journalist or criticizes the press and goes on and on and on you know, i get criticized by the press. I know thats part of our democratic system. We believe in a free press. Boy, if you go to countries where there isnt one, youll understand why that is so important. And when he says there should be a religious test, a religious test, for people at our borders, a country founded on religious freedom, you have to ask yourself who is going to conduct the test. Are we going to get a quiz . And what if the Border Security official doesnt believe you, who gets to decide whether you come in or out based on your religion . But if he is really focusing on just voter fraud and the word rigged does suggest voter fraud hes terribly wrong. People who have examined this system very, very carefully think we have the best election system around, and we do partly because we are so decentralized, eric. Our system isnt run by the federal government. Its run by the 50 states and the district of columbia. Furthermore, its run from county to county and city to city, so rigging an election would involve a conspiracy of massive proportions. What does that mean when you talk about a conspiracy . Youre right. County to county, they have different machines. All states have different machines. Its not one major system. And that is a great thing, by the way. Diversity is a great strength of this system because it would be awfully difficult to hack into our system. Its not impossible to hack into a machine or a certain type of machine, although its difficult to do. The other really important point is, eric, we have a bipartisan election system that people have worked hard to build at every stage examining the machines before election day, examining them during the day, examining them afterwards, looking at all the procedures. You have both democrats and republicans working together. A majority of the secretaries of state who really run the elections in the United States are republicans. A majority of the governors are republicans. Again, it just it gboggles te mind to think of the size of the conspiracy to, quote, rig our elections. Youve got absentee ballot fraud. That happened in new york. Vulnerable voting when theres vote harvesting, allegations of going into Nursing Homes to steal votes. Ive got a whole list, larry. Clay county, kentucky. The politicians spent 400,000 buying the votes of 8,000 people over three elections plus. You do have these types of cases, even in indiana. The president ial petitions in 2008, they were faked. And the prosecutor believed that president obama did not have the legal number to actually get on the ballot in the primary in 2008. People also are concerned about what happens behind closed doors. Is that warranted and is that enough to affect a nationwide election . Eric, im familiar with some of these cases, and there is no question in isolated cases there have been instances of voter fraud and there have been throughout our history. Im delighted to tell you somebody who spent some time investigating voter fraud in the 1990s it gets better every year. Our systems get better, and were able to detect these things faster and take care of them more quickly. One fraudulent vote is one vote too many. No question. We dont want any fraudulent votes, but when you consider that in this election 135 million americans will vote and have their votes counted, it is remarkable that only a handful of votes at most will be fraudulent. Its not nearly enough to affect the results of an election for president. Donald trump has specifically pointed at pennsylvania, for example. Hes urged people to go out to certain communities, a suggestion of some africanamericans communities, heavily democratic communities in philadelphia, pointing out in some of those areas mitt romney got zero votes. Let me show you some facts. This is from the 2012 election in the fourth ward of philadelphia. Obama got 407 votes. Romney zero. The 1st division 410 for obama. Mitt romney 3. This is flipped in other parts of the country where obama got no votes. Ive shown this in warren, wyoming. Romney got 60. Is this voter fraud or is this voting, plain and simple . Eric, its voting. We are very polarized in this country. And i remember commenting at the time on the philadelphia votes because its eye catching. Except then you look at the precincts carefully and you recognize theyre almost completely africanamerican. In the country as a whole, mitt romney got about 5 or 6 of the africanamerican vote. And a lot of that was suburban africanamerican vote. Those who had higher incomes and Higher Education and so on. In those philadelphia precincts, i can easily believe there were no votes for romney. You mentioned utah and wyoming. At least until this year utah was one of our two or three most republican states. Wyoming still is. You have large pieces of those states where you cant find a democrat if you look hard. Its understandable. Finally, quickly, bottom line, do you have confidence and faith in the election process and in our Election Officials across the country . I could not have more confidence not just in the process, but in the outstanding, wonderful people who run it. And ive been around elections for decades, and ive had a chance to meet a wide variety of democrats and republicans and independents who run our election system. They are terrific people. They work hard to make sure our system is honest. They work all the time. A lot of us think they just work like once every four years. They run a lot of different elections. Thats right. It is absolutely bizarre, but it is the way this whole campaign has shaped up because trump has run as this populist independent candidate. The rest of the gop look at the polls and see whats happening. They know hes popular, but they want to protect that you are down ballot races if trump loses by a lot. Theyre in a tough position because he does have a lot of big following, donald trump. On the other hand, hes not winning right now. Having said that, laid that out for us, lets fastforward to november 9th. A republicanruled house with a smaller margins. What if the dems retake the senate . Whats the political juggling act sticking with that for the Republican Party as a whole . Theyll be pretty shell shocked. Thatll be a big deal if they do lose the senate, and theyll have a smarter majority in the house. Theyll be able to do less because they have less of a majority. This is the beginning of them figuring out what to do next post donald trump. What do they do, this 38 or so, that support donald trump . Do they try to draw them in, draw the people in who really support trumps populist message, or do they go back to what they were doing Postmitt Romney lost where they talked about being a more Inclusive Party . They have to decide who they want to be Going Forward and who they want to try to draw in, who do they want to make their base. I dont think its really clear right now. Its not evident what theyre going to do because it doesnt sound like trumps movement is going to go away. Today trump was campaigning, talking about how if he loses his movement may end. Well, i dont see how thats possible now. He created something that may not go away on november 9th. Those people cant be discounted. Even if the current polls play out, Hillary Clinton wins and donald trump loses, she and the democratic party, they both have some political juggling to do as well, right . Thats right. They have their own identity crisis. That poll you just referenced, guess what. When you look at democrats, its split between clinton and Bernie Sanders as to who they see as the face of the party. If he makes a comment on the stand and theres some factual information out there that is total opposite, the crossexamination attorney can then impeach his creditability. We do it all the time. I dont know about fraudulent bankruptcies versus the bankruptcies of his companies, but heres what the attorney wrote in his memo to the judge. It is in the ballot box where they are free to judge mr. Trump based on all this and more. But it is in the injury box where they must judge him and this case to the relevant issues at hand. Plaintiffs have no right to cross those lines in an attempt to inflame and prejudice the jury. That can only happen if extraneo extraneous, irrelevant, and prejudicial matters in trials today, theres so much communication out there. It has a big bearing on whether there was some fraud because it goes to the veracity of the people who were included, who were involved, including trump. He gets on the stand and he says all these things about this is not true, but then they can bring in evidence to say, okay, theres a pattern of fraudulent behavior here.
