Heather some of the republicans have said they are not going to stick to some of the parameters mentioned. Not a surprise. It will be a pretty freewheeling hearing. It is going to get interesting. Heather why are they doing that happening while the president is overseas dealing with north korea . I dont have much faith in congressional investigations to begin with. They are always predetermined. They have the potential to step on a real investigation, whether it is conducted by a federal agency or the special counsel. I have had a lot of experience with that over the years. They tend to draw out statements from witnesses, multiple statements, which is not good for the prosecutor. It drives the prosecutor crazy. It is not the thing they want their witness going through if he happens to be a witness. You mentioned no russia collusion. They are supposed to not touch on that. What is it they are looking for from him . There is one side that is going to make him out to be this big star witness, truthteller. There is the other side that is going to say he is a serial liar, someone that hung around the president to monetize his relationship with the president. He is a scavenger. He is a serial liar. He is the type of witness you have a lot of trouble putting on the witness stand. There are a bunch of Silk Stocking lawyers out there that would love to get in line to cross examine him, im sure. Heather what is being alleged is that this would be impeachable offenses in terms of the president and his knowledge of the payments to stormy daniels, amongst others . I think they have coached it in this plea deal in terms of a campaign, an elicit Campaign Contribution. He has other issues but those dont really involve the president. What the antitrump side will try to do is sort of like a john edwards type prosecution, pay off someone to stay silent. Thats a Campaign Contribution of some sort or some kind. Heather you and i talked about that case when that was happening. We sure did, back in North Carolina in the day. It didnt pass then. It couldnt convince the jury. These are the type of cases a good lawyer can muddy up the watters and confuse the jury over. Heather do you expect the same outcome . Do you think this will rise to the level of impeachment . I think that politics is going to come into play. I think the report will come in. There may be another indictment before or after the report. I think that there is going to be a lot of people around the president that are now being prosecuted. There might be some embarrassing information but i dont think there is any way that the president actually successfully gets impeached. He might not get to the level of a house vote on impeachment. There are a lot of blue dog democrats that are going to have a crisis moment like manchin. They may not get a vote in the house. Heather before we get to the Mueller Investigation and whether or not that will be released next week. Embarrassing the president with these type of issues when he is on an International Level trying to negotiate denuclearization with north korea. Not surprising given the polarization we have in our country now. There is no doubt russia did something really bad. They are up to no good. My former boss, director mueller, is going to follow the special counsel law to the tee. The report is going to go to the attorney general, bill barr, who is a breath of fresh air inside the Justice Department right now and just what they need. He is going to take his time with it. They are going to follow the process. I dont think you are going to see any grandstanding press conferences, certainly not from mueller. He will fade into the background. The major concern is that the violent demonstrations here along the border with ieds, grenades being thrown, could ultimately lead to what you just heard right now, another explosion from a grenade or ied. We dont know the answer to that. If she was born when he was a diplomat, the state department is right, she is not an american citizen. If not, then she probably is. The issue is not up to the person and the Foreign Government if you get to come to the United States as a diplomat, you present your diplomatic credentials. My hope is that we will set a plan out where you can denuclearize and get the benefit of security and peace and stability in north korea. We wont have a nuclear threat. My question is, though, what would be involved in that plan such that we dont have the situations that we have in iran. The first thing, why is kim talking to him and the caliphate destroyed . Chairman kim is at the table because he is afraid of trump. We broke the iran nuclear agreement, which was putting iran on a pathway to Nuclear Weapons and we destroyed the caliphate and we have the taliban at the table in afghanistan. Why . They havent declared an inventory of what their arsenal is or let independent inspectors on the ground. All of the things we hoped would flow from singapore have not. That raises questions. It is always good they are talking. Clearly, denuclearization has not advanced in singapore. Bill it is a really curious event. How would they address each other . How would they look together . What would they talk about . What message would come from it . Now, thats behind us. We have all seen that. You also get the sense that you have to get something from this for america. No question.
