You went through the process to become national Honor Society. You qualified. The right gpa and the number of Community Service hours. You should get pick but yet you werent. Why . Its not a subjective process, its objective. Yet they said no to you, why. The School Administration and the council that decided whether i should go in the national Honor Society or not said i had a character flaw and i didnt meet their character and leadership standards. But what it really came down to as the class president i posted inspirational quotes on instagram every day. When i posted a trump remark they said i was a monarch, sent home a conduct report. You also wore the tshirt, your campaign tshirt . I actually brought one. So i handed these out for my Reelection Campaign and his hats that said force the bear. My uncle paid for them. I was sitting with my neighbor trying to come up with a new slogan and he said why continue you dresdont you kres. What was the quote . It was just if youre going to think, you might as well think big. Thats too much. You cant think big in this country. We have a statement from the School Superintendent that says i can confirm that political afill natioafill nation,affiliae denied is baae based on their political affiliation. I had the great requirement. Theres plenty of prochoice antitrump people that get in. Just when i made the tshirts and i posted the quote i had posted quotes from a variety of leaders, yoda, drake, all of these people. When i posted the trump quote it became a huge problem and i was not representing the clooses and i had a character issue. That kind of shows how the school is just. Ed the democrats say he was in racist photo but he did darken his face one time. Pete Jillian Turner is in washington with the latest. Set us trait here. Pete you just sort of gave us the whole story. Back to you guys. Just kidding. In under 24 hours Governor Ralph Northam has changed his tune from im sorry to it wasnt me me. Now his explanation is doing little to assuage concerns about his ability to lead the state of virginia and the groundswells call for his resignation continues loud and clear here in washington. He offered this by way of explanation yesterday afternoon. Take a listen. When you was confronted with the images yesterday, i was appalled that they appeared on my page, but i believed then and now that i am not either of the people in that photo. On friday he came to be one of those two men pictured that yearbook photo wearing black face and a kkk robe and described the photo as clearly, quote, racist and offensive. But then yesterday he backtracked claiming he never believed he was in that photo and saying he only apologized because people seemed so upset but he did acknowledge in his press conference that hes had errors in judgment before. That same year, i did participate in a dance contest in san antonio in which he darkened my face as part of i darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume. I look back now and regret that i did not understand the harmful legacy of an like that. So this response has left Many Americans scratching their heads. And virginia lawmakers from both sides of the aisle feeling hes no longer trustworthy. His own partys chairperson, the speaker of the house and Senate Minority leader have all called on him to resign immediately. Ed Jillian Turner in washington appreciate that report. Make sense of this, piece, i dont think i can do that. But what i can tell you is that i have not seen an implosion this spectacular since reading about the hindenburg in the history books. I dont think that weve seen a political meltdown like this in a long time and in slow motion. I mean, that press conference was cringe worthy to the extreme extreme. I mean, this was like really on the order of a three mile island meltdown, and especially that moment where [loss of audio] moon walk [loss of audio] he was about to do the moon walk the literal moon walk, and having to have his wife tell him it was not a good idea. Ed yeah. I mean, theres a larger point here, though, i think that is being missed because of the spectacle and the circus which is the weird and screwed up priorities of democrats and liberals in the media. Because, if you think about the last 72 to 96 hours, this is a man who had earned condemnation from good folks on the right because of his barbaric and callous endorsement of the murder of born alive babies. But that wasnt enough to break through into the national media. Ed michelle, on that point the bizarro pictures from a yearbook from what, 35, 40 years ago . Emily what does that tell you . Ed look at what our nations are do on your point, i want to underline approximate. Nancy pelosi tweeting about the photo, the photo is racist in [loss of audio] ed in virginia calling on Governor Northamed to the right thing to the people of the commonwealth of virginia can heal and move forward. Michelle, three days or so earlier nancy pelosi was asking our producer at a News Conference, what about Ralph Northam basically supporting infanticide, said i didnt hear anything about that, move on to another reporter. She couldnt duck that question any faster. Now all of a sudden shes standing on principle. Yes, exactly. So this is the leader of the Democrat Party who thinks that border walls and sovereignty are quote, unquote, immoral who has now jumped the moral bandwagon on a yearbook photo, you know, from 40 years ago who had nothing to say, essentially just covered her ears and said, la la la, i cant hear you. Thank you, her royal highness, nancy pelosi, when asked about the fundamental question of life and this is somebody whos supposed to be a practicing catholic. And i think that President Trump was right when he tweeted very simply what the democrat priorities were lateterm abortion, no walls, and, you know, freebies for everyone in government without really understanding what makes america [loss of audio] heading into 2020 were going to see more of that and i think probably some divisions among some goodfaith democrats who understand that this radicalism, this hijacking of the Democrat Party by the extreme is not going to serve them well electorally in the end. Pete not just lateterm abortions, super late term which is entirely accurate. We had earlier in the program a democrat willing to come on which is fantastic, sean maloney maloney. We asked him a lot of questions about another typo, immigration, the border wall, how do you get to a solution there. This is part of what he had to say. Listen. Look. We have always supported physical barriers where they make sense. Youre going to see a lot of us bring that common sense to this debate. Heres the point. The point is lets talk about everything from dreamers to Immigration Reform to asylum seek. Rs pete michelle, hes saying theres common sense that theyve always supported physical barriers and yet his speaker is saying its all immoral and only one dollar. Yeah. I really feel some compassion for congressman maloney. He sounds very reasonable but there [loss of audio] quote, unquote, smart border enhancements and Border Security security. Now they talk about systemic Immigration Reform when they have blocked systemic immigration endorsement reform at every level. They dont want to have visa reform. They dont want to have a moratorium or cancellation of the diversity visa lottery. They dont want to talk about the impact on wages of massive ilLegal Immigration, let alone temporary visa programs that are not supporting of american workers. So how are you supposed to deal on the table in good faith with people who are trying to undermine National Security while paying lip service to Border Security . I think in the end, whether it is a National Emergency declaration or if trump listens to the Congressional Research service [loss of audio] to invoke other sections of federal law, 2804 or 284 without even having to declare a National Emergency, having the military at the border do construction or specifically targeting areas where the drug cartels have been launching these incursions, you know, with impunity, than that has to be done before that february 15 deadline. Joining us now democratic Virginia State delegate jennifer bourne. Good morning, sir. We appreciate you you coming in. Trying to make sense of the News Conference. You as a democrat who perhaps had an open mind go into the News Conference willing him, how did you emerge from that News Conference from the oh, i wore black face another time and maybe ill do the moon walk. I emerged the same place i was before the press conference began which is i believe that Governor Northam has lost the trust and the confidence of the people he not only serves, but the people hes required to work with as governor and as such my feeling the members of the black caucus, our position hasnt changed. We in fact amplify our call for him to resign because its become clear that he can no longer effectively govern. Ed Lieutenant Governor fairfax is africanamerican. He put out a statement that was pretty harsh on the governor but he seemed not to want to push him aside to not make it look like he was all about ambition or Something Like that. What would be your suggestion to the Lieutenant Governor . Do you think hes the person who should now step up and take over over . Well, i think the constitution, shooed the governor do the right thing and resign means necessarily that Justin Fairfax will be the next governor of virginia. And so i think, you know, Lieutenant Governor should continue to do the work that hes been elected to do right now but begin preparing himself for that next phase. Ed but what if he doesnt resign . I was doing some research this morning, and my understanding of the state constitution, state law is that if he doesnt resign there could be, what is it, a threefourths vote in the chambers there in richmond to try to basically invoke a 25th amendment style thing on the like we have on the federal level, that hes incapacitated and cant serve . Is there Something Like that . There are some provisions in our constitution, in our code that would allow for an impeachment type process. We havent had extensive discussions about that, but i suspect that the longer it goes on, the more the confidence in the governor erodes, the more that the trust is broken, i think those conversations will begin to really take place in ernest. Ed so for you and other democrats, impeachment is on the table if he does not resign . Well, i think he cant take any option off the table simply because theres so much work to do here in virginia, theres so many challenges that we face, and not having a governor that we all have trust in and we all have confidence in is simply a tremendous impediment to progress here in virginia, and as i stated, weve got too much work to do on critical issues. Ed sure. Delegate, one of those issues thats been discussed in your state, as you know, is this legislation on the state level that critics say would lead to infanticide. Very, very lateterm abortion being legalized, essentially, and the governor made very controversial statements, as you know. Have you why havent Many Democrats spoken out on that . I respect that youre speaking out on the race issue. It was disgusting, the photo and all of that. But why havent other democrats spoken out about infanticide . I cant really speak for other democrats on why they chose to either speak or not speak. But what i will say is that, you know, these issues, a womans right to choose are ones that really divide us more than they unite us. And i think from my perspective, id rather talk about the ones that unite us, such as how we going to continue to give raises to our teachers, how we going to invest in the infrastructure, how we going to protect our environment, the things that unit us. Ed those are some of the issues the governor may be struggling to deal with in the days ahead with according to his fellow democrats who want him to step down. The super bowl when the giants beat the patriots, when they were having an undefeated season and i had my grandsons at the game and one of them turned around when it was 1410 and he looked at me and smiled and said our team won, and i said it aint over til its over. Lou, theres Something Else that stands out. You guys say, this is all guys, when the wives want to come or the kids want to come, no, its the guys; right . Its always been the guys and many years ago our wives said how about taking the girls . And we said, well, the super bowl is the guys but well take you to the gray company in canada. We flew up to montreal, girls went shopping and sunday at the game it was really cold and the girls said we think well fly home, you guys have a good time, and that was their trip to the super bowl. Larry, can you talk about what got this group together . Was it something intentional or just gradual . Well, these guys knew each other for a long time out in new york and everything, and i was a builder and developer down in florida, and harveys company wanted to buy a piece of property i had, and they just got me down to nothing. I finally sold it to him and he said you can have it back if you want for nothing. And they said, we had talked a lot of sports during the negotiations, and kind of close to the closing, harvey says, some of my friends with going to meet at the doral and go to the ball game. Would you like to go with us . I said, sure. That was the beginning for me. Sylvan in turkey, first game cost, what, 12 to get in was the championship game . Its no big deal. It was ridiculous, 12. Dont have to tell you what goes on today. I think were all amazed how much money the average person has to spend to go to this game. I mean it is thousands. Its thousands. Easily thousands. And were fortunate to be able to do that. But we really have Great Respect for all those people who support a team the entire year and then come. The army, navy is represented here right on the set right now, and they can play in all weather as you see, but what does it mean for you when the thunderbirds fly over . What does it mean for you guys as america gets saluted today . Do you want to take that, lou . Sure. Its all of us are have that in our hearts. When those planes fly over, when they sing the national anthem, its just being all of us serving the country, its just a wonderful feeling to know, hey, were here, were part of america, we did our doubt, and thank god were all together and this country is still moving ahead. Absolutely. And harvey, you said this game became an event, in super bowl 3 when joe namath won then you said theres Something Special about this game, its not just football. Right. Its not really the game. We love the super bowl, but its the camaraderie that weve developed between us. We feel like were brothers, and i think thats more important than the game. But were going to keep going and keep going. Right. Im sure thats going to happen. This means the super bowl 5. That is not an accident . Thats what you call yourselves . Thats the nomenclature, super bowl. We were five people. Its very funny when people think that you guys went to super bowl 5 or you how come you you know, the, no, i dont remember clarity were old enough looking that they think we really did play in super bowl 5. The truth of the matter is that its about five guys, and thats what this story and i think brian got that, and that really is were thankful for that. Lets be honest, these players come and go, the average career is three years, and the thing that doesnt change is the fans and what it means to each individual, we go back to our parents, we bring our kids and for you guys you bring each other and its the memories cause this game is about the fans and people having a good time at home as well. It is because my memory of that episode is so vivid that i truly do not believe i am in the picture this my yearbook. If i were to listen to the voices calling on me to resign my office today, i could spare myself from the difficult path that lies ahead. People from the left to the right have said its despicable, but i think her point is something that the president is trying to get at as well which is that many of the same people on the left and in the Mainstream Media said virtually nothing when the same governor a few days earlier basically came out and suggested that he supported infant side. So the president , who im told yesterday by one of his advisers, some of his friends were prod him, hey, why have you waited . Normally you jump on these stories. Last night the president did weigh in because i think some of his friends thought this is something that is playing right into the president s hand. The governor just stated, quote, i believe i am not either of the photo. Well, the president says, this was 24 hours after apologizing and after making the most horrible statement on super late term abortion, unforgivable, the president says. Remember, the president a few todays ago also told reporters he believes the Democratic Party between taxes, abortion, theyre getting extreme. Pete super lateterm abortion was the phrase used because this was right there at birth, even after birth. And with northam being a physician, he knows what hes talking about at some level. Important to note at that press conference, not a single question was asked about that abortion statement, by the way. Obviously, the press conference was about the yearbook, but not a single reporter even asked about what happened earlier in the week. But a reporter did ask about, in a more awkward part ed really random question. Pete yeah. When northam was at the podium, he said that wasnt me in the yearbook, but i did perform as Michael Jackson with black face on, and i did the moon walk. Well, the reporter asked northam if he could still moon walk. This was an earnest question from a reporter. Heres what northam said. You said the competition in san antonio was a dance competition. Brian ian oconnors here, he spent the last 23 years of his life studying Bill Belichick. Welcome back to the show. You see he is, bar none, one of the most fascinating people in sports, if not the. I dont think theres a close second, maybe tiger woods, but thats one of the reasons why i wanted to deliver a defining portrait of the man, not just the coach and, hopefully, i pulled it off. Brian you watched him at the press conference and say this must be the most uninteresting person in the world. Its actually just the opposite. Away from the facility and stadium, its like a jekyll and hyde act. He can be charming and engaging in social settings, and its a figure that most of america would have a hard time believing exists, but they swear it does. Brian i want you to hear what Roger Staubach told me, he knew a young Bill Belichick on the campus of annapolis where his dad was assistant coach. He remembers that Bill Belichick. Lets listen. Steve was at the Naval Academy for about 33 years, steve belichick. Bill used to come out to practice, i guess he was 9 or 0 or 11 years old. He idolized his dad, and his dad was a great coach, great person, and bill just idolized his dad, and i think his dad would be really proud of him. He stood on the sideline when he won that first super bowl against the rams. Brian and you write about that too, the patriots, the biggest underdog in super bowl history maybe outside the jets, they go ahead and shock the rams. And steve, his dad, standing behind him. You write about that. Right. And, brian, his father meant so much to him, really shaped him not only as a coach, but as a human being. Being around his father at the Naval Academy, and one of his former players told me steve didnt just train us to be Football Players in annapolis, he trained us to be combat officers. And that discipline and attention to detail really had a profound impact on bill as a head coach, and you see that in his program. Wriewp brian today, this is his ninth super bowl 12th if you count his assistantships brian he told the team and their families to go out and have fun, and tom brady was kidding around. Thats not the Bill Belichick that coached the browns. No, he actually told a joke this week. A reporter asked him a question, are you ever going to write his own book, and he started to answer, well, im focusing on the rams, and then he said, well, would you buy one . [laughter] a lot of his friends would like to see more of that side. Brian so the 33yearold sean mcvay, he is friends with Bill Belichick. Thats right. They text. Brian how did this relationship start . Well, just through texting, and bill is a grandfather because he was friends with seans grandfather, john, who coached the giants and was a successful executive, of course, in san francisco. It is funny to see a 66yearold man who was friends with the other coachs grandfather going head to head. Brian broin so the rams are new to this, you know the drama, theres no spygate, no deflategate, no rumors of a quarterback controversy looming with grab low, this stud who is now in san francisco. Its kind of quiet. It is. And i think theyre in a much better place where they were last year where the Brady Belichick relationship had unraveled. Im not a body language expert, but even in talking to people around him, he feels like bill eased up on him this year, so theyre in a much better place. Brian if you hate the patriots, dont worry about it they love to be hated. Real or imagined, they love to fuel themselves with that. Brady, of course, was the 139th pick 199th pick in the 2000 draft. Its all about the marbling. Weve got bacon, kobe meatballs ed hanging bacon . And this is the legendary Fred Flintstone. I invented the steak about 20 years ago. These are some of the toppings. This is the, oh, my god, its huge Coconut Cream pie. 8ounce burger, brisket, short rib chuck, then over here [inaudible] yeah, sure, come on over here. So what we do is with the seasoning, bring over the salt and pepper, take that steak over here. Youve got to get it going, you can see the juice in the burger. So get the fire going. No, youve got to hand hold it. Youve got to get dirty. You want to rub your meat, right . You want to get your steak to room temperature, then you want to massage the salt, get it on the fat. Then place it at an angle. Pete at an angle . Yeah, so you get the marks, you want the marks, see . Thats charred. Ed how long does it take to get to medium rare . Thicker cuts 5 minutes each side, touch the things then put it off the temperature, youve got medium rare. Theres your filet. Then were going to do the Fred Flintstone what is that . Thats a tomahawk chop, chef drew dry ages it in an aging facility right in the middle of the dining room. I built this aging box, and we age it there for 120 days. So the smell and the flavor gets so intense ed you getting all this . Weve got a crowd out here. Pete whats the biggest mistake people headache when they grill steak . The first thing is you dont want thin steaks. You want a nice, thick steak. When youre picking out your meat, get a lot of marbling sideways. Not long ways because thats a vein. Fat is good, right . More fat, more better, more butter, more better, right . Then use the jacks seasoning. I sell it, these are three salts, himalayan, kosher, sea salt. A thick pepper to hold up to your grill. Know your grill, find your hot spots. Ed that is awesome. What about the burgers now . The burger is, again, your blend. Its about 75 meat, 25 fat, and then you want to use the salt and perp on that. You dont want to press your burger. Its plump, thats good to go. Its nice and juicy. Your guest is going to eat that. This ones a little more rare. You can see when they shrink, thats a medium rare. Flip this one ed nice. Nice char. Yes, i like a thick burger if youre cooking on a grill. On a griddle where the grease stays in the burger more, you can use a thinner one. Pete fox news alert, two of the migrt caravan organizers arrested in mexico, but thousands are still pushing forward now about 400 miles from the u. S. Border. Our own Griff Jenkins is in central mexico with the latest. Good morning. Reporter hey, pete, good morning. Were really in the final stages. Its north 400 miles to the texas border. 2500 migrants have been trying to catch rides all day. The local state police are helping along with the red cross and some ambulances, a couple of guys got injured here earlier. But, you know, there was a development in the last 48 hours, that is two members that were sort of organizing it, theyre from honduras, were arrestedded. We have video of one of them. His name was carlos, thats all we knew about him. He had a bull horn, he was trying to help people line up. The crowd viewed him as an organizer, and we spoke with the mexican general, and here is what he told us about interpol getting involved. Listen. The interpol collect peoples very numbers, and another arrest, two people, for interpol. Reporter so again, pete, were just about 400 miles. And if you just look up this highway, you can see thats it, straight ahead. We had a map that we saw on this shelter on the wall, thats about 400 miles. They could go to knave slow laredo and cross into la raid doe, texas, although that is a little more dangerous because of cartels and such around. The chief of the Border Patrol says hes prepared and ready when we get there. Its going to be about monday or tuesday at this rate. Pete so our Border Patrol are prepared, but it also appears as if the mexican authorities are escorting this group to the border, is that right . Reporter thats exactly right. If you just look along the line, or you see the number of Mexican State Police here as well as you look back down this line, theyre literally keeping people organized. There was the injury, but they are helping to get them on trucks, theyre helping even flag down trucks and trailers because its not like mexicos federal government or this president , lopez obrador, whos very proimmigrant has paid for any sort of federal resources. Its really just each mexican state as they move north is trying to facilitate with all the resources they can muster along with mexican citizens who have trucks thatll stop and put them on the back of flat beds. But the entire communities are certainly 100 involved and invested in cooperating and supporting the movement of these migrants to their next point up until they get to the u. S. Border. Pete yeah.
