We are committed to establishing a Missile Defense program that can shield every city in the United States, and we will never negotiate away our right to do this. The president said the danger is growing. All over, foreign adversarie adversaries, competitors, and ruger regimes are steadily enhancing e arsenals. They are increasing their lethal strike capabilities, and they are focused on developing longrange missiles that could reach targets within the United States. The president did not mention russia, china, or north korea by name, but his new acting defense secretary did. North koreas missiles remain a significant concern. Americas competitors, including china and russia, are increasing their existing Missile System capabilities. They are adding new and sophisticated missiles to their arsenals. The new 108 page report has been posted to the pentagon website and includes plans for 20 new groundbased intercepts in alaska. Necessary to protect emergence from all types of missile attacks, this new Missile Defense system and the president also called for more bread and sharing with allies. North korea successfully testfired its first Intercontinental Ballistic Missile in 2016. It did not conduct any lodges last year. The new review includes plans to expand the u. S. Militarys ability to detect and potentially shoot down rogue missiles from space. Its on a scale not seen since president reagans star wars initiative. Unlike Ballistic Missiles whose follow a set and standard trajectory, hes concerned by new hypersonic missiles being developed by russia and china which can travel 20 times the speed of sound and move around in space, making them much harder to detect and destroy. If you looked at what was disclosed there, it would be the first time that people who work for a campaign confuse the fact that they are acting for the benefit of the campaign with the fact that they are actually being directed by the candidate to do something. There is a long difference in proof between Michael Cohen saying ive done things wrong and acted unlawfully and have committed felonies, and another thing to be able to accept from him without cooperation corrobt there is proof that the ventcandidate trump directed those illegal activities.
