Every one of the businesses have melt the expectations of the state. The state said if you want to continue operating as a business, you have to do these things. President , the electors will meet to cast their vote. Theres not a lot of time between now and then to make your case to overturn the vote. At this point, are you looking to change the outcome of the election or try to make a case to the American People that it was fixed . The case has been made if you look at the polls. It was a rigged election. Its a disgrace to our country. Its like a third world country. These ball lots pouring in from everywhere, using machinery that nobody knows ownership or anything about. They have glitches as they call them. Glitches. Glitches arent glitches. They got caught sending out thousands of votes. All against me, by the way. Now, this was from a third world nation. I think the case has been made and now we find out what we can do about it. Youll see a lot of big things happening the next couple days. Very importantly, were here for a different reason. Were here to present our highest award or highest achievement, really, something that really spokes to such incredible achievement to a man who really is a great man and a great figure in sports. A lot of the most torched, the most scorched earth decisions have been written by trump employees calls it no material facts, claiming for relief, a massive amount of legal relief based on granular examples that dont have any correlation to what the president is asking. A massive disconnect between what the president says and what is going on in the courtrooms. Hes created this cocoon around him supported by a small number of republicans. To one of the greatest wrestlers in american history, iowa legend dan gable. Hes been an inspiration to so many people. Dan was born and raised in the working class town of waterloo, iowa. His mother said she knew dan would be a wrestler the day they brought him home from the hospital. Even as an infant, dan refused to let his back even touch the ground. Thats an interesting statement. Probably so. At 4 years old, his parents sent him to the local ymca where he learned to swim, wrestle and play football. When he reached high school, dan decided to commit himself entirely to wrestling. His coach quickly saw his unmatched intensity and gave dan the keys to the gym so he could come first thing in the morning to practice. At first, dan was alone. As he achieved one victory after the other, the rest of the team followed his lead. He worked hard. He was also born with something very special, talent. Talent, you have it or you dont. During his time in high school, dans beloved sister was murdered. Afterwards, dan poured even more of his energy to wrestling and his success brought happiness and pride to his family, especially in overcoming this incredible heart break that they had with what happened to diane. As a high school wrestler, dan went 640, not losing a single match. I have to say jim jordan told me about i knew about dan but he told me things that are pretty amazing. Right, jim . Pretty amazing. Dan attended iowa state where he secured two ncaa wrestling championships, National Wrestling championships, three big eight titles and became a threetime allamerican. He won 117 consecutive matches and lost only one. In politics, i won two, so im 20. Thats pretty good, too. Well see how that turns out. After that lone defeat, dan vowed it wasnt going to happen again. He couldnt stand the feeling of losing a match. He rededicated himself to mastering the sport and soon adapted his wrestling style to reach new heights of greatness. Sports illustrated labelled dan the hardest working athlete by far. They detailed his routine of working out every day of the week. They estimated that dan produced 60 pounds of sweat every seven days. Thats a lot. Im not sure i want to hear about it but thats a lot. A lot of work. His pursuit of perfection, dan suffered multiple injuries, his nose, fingers were broken and his feet very tough stuff. He pushed every single muscle to the absolute limit. Nobody has done it by him. His wavering great has propelled him forward. Before matches, he would say his familiar statement. Why . Because theyre all moves that end the match and you get your hand raised. That was thats pretty good. I wasnt worried about his moves. I was worried about my moves. Whatever it was, you did the right thing. Two things in mind. Scoring and dominating. In the midst of the cold war, he was selected to represent team u. S. A. At the 1972 munich olympics. The leader of the soviet wrestling team proclaimed that he would search the ussr and find a wrestler that would defeat dan gable. That was his big ambition. They found somebody that was considered the greatest anywhere in the world. But they failed. Dan won every match and didnt give up a point. How much . Six. So you wont every match and didnt give up a point. None. A record that still stands. To do that, the russian in the final did not get a point. He didnt get a point. What did you win by . 30. Thats okay. Thats pretty good. What do you think, jim . Have you ever heard of where you go six matches and dont give up a point against great talent . I watched the final match. Its amazing. To me that is amazing. Not giving up a single point. He toppled soviet preeminence in the sport. At the time, russia had the greatest wrestlers except for dan. He defeated their wrestler and took home the olympic gold medal. Dan set a pin streak record of 25 consecutive pins. Im larger than you a little bit. You think i could take you in wrestling . Would i have a big advantage . You would have no chance. What do you think . I agree. Do you agree, john . I do. Hes the expert. Hes the expert. 25 consecutive pins. He was also the First American to win consecutive world and olympic titles. Dan went on to coach at the university of iowa. He secured 355 victories and 15 ncaa team titles. Jim jordan said he was the greatest wrestler ever but he may have been a better coach. Right, jim . Now has any team in any sport ever won 15 ncaa team titles . I dont know. I think thats a lot. Its more than ucla in basketball, right . Yes. So i dont know. Jim, i dont think so. May be the most. Its incredible. His team scored an average of 17 victories for every loss. He was named the university of iowas alltime winningest coast. Probably you look all over the country to be the alltime winningest coach. 15 ncaa titles. As a coach, dan trained and guided 152 allamerican athletes, 106 big ten champions, 45 National Champions and 12 olympians. He was also the head coach of three u. S. Olympic teams. Dan has said i never jump for joy as a player but always jump for joy as a coach. In other words, he did his job but he was rooting for the other people to do theirs. A great statement. Dan has been inducted into the u. S. A. Wrestling hall of fame, the United States olympic hall of fame, the National Wrestling hall of fame and the United World Wrestling hall of fame. In 2013 he helped ensure that wrestling remained a very important top olympic sport. The National Wrestling hall of fame has built a Dan Gable Museum in dans hometown. A permanent reminder of the incredible journey that started in the great state of iowa. I love iowa. I love iowa. I knew those polls were wrong. They had me losing iowa, dan. We won iowa by a lot. A lot of polls that were wrong. I love that state. No one has tone more to promote wrestling in america than dan gable. Hes an athletic giant who conquered one of the most difficult and ancient sports in the world. Hes the greatest wrestle probably ever. Weve never had anybody like him. Hes made our country very proud and hes a true goat. You know what goat is . Greatest of all time. Right . Hes the greatest of all time. Today in recognition of his really exceptional achievements, dan will become the first wrestler in history to receive this, our most important award along with the congressional medal of honor. I would now like to ask the military aide to step forward to present Coach Dan Gable with the president ial medal of freedom. Before doing that, id like to have dan say a few words, please. Thank you. Dan, please. Wrestlers are all sizes and shapes. So i asked how much time i had up here because im not used to a short talk. And they said i had three minutes. Im used to speaking to, you know, groups of 45 minutes and so on. I had one Company Bring me in for four hours straight to talk. I did it. They brought me back four more years after that. So must have did a good job. I learned to become an assistant coach under a good mentor. A good head coach at the university of iowa. They sent me out to the community to promote the sport that they werent excelling at and wanted to do more. So yeah, i learned to talk. Because i didnt do it well. Talked helped. Talk didnt win me over. Performance and lifestyle did. It wasnt perfect. Nothing is perfect. No place on this earth is perfect. Always room for improvement. The success one has with others action he mentioned is more important than the success that you have as yourself. I wouldnt be here if i just won this olympic gold medal. It has been a lifetime of work, learning from many others to be an outstanding competitor and person and then taking that knowledge and applying it to many, many others in different ways to have them perform at their very highest so they can be real successful. That group of individuals become team members. Because of their great performances, great family and Team Performances are the results. Proof is in the results. The proof is here today. My immediate family of 23, who are all right here. Led by my wife, kathy of 46 years. They are living it and because of this, they all have better chances of success. Theyre witnessing this historic moment of someone quite ordinary mostly going to the highest level as an athlete and helping others do the same through the professional level of coaching. Did so for years, showing others that are just watching, reading or listen, who really strive to do the same. It works. Living proof right there. For those that couldnt be here because of limitations, like my mother kate and my dad and my sister who was murdered as a teenager because she fought for her life and didnt give in, know theyre here and proud. I thank you for this highest award a civilian can get, president ial medal of freedom. For all those that push the authority, including donald trump and his family. This family last wrestled on and off the mat every day. And to the sport of wrestling being the first to win this award, it become a higher challenge to all that participate. Because it isnt just like right now, me and him wrestling and whoever wins get a medal. Its more than that. That opens the door right now for a lot of people. The National American medal of freedom, the highest award given to a civilian in the United States went to dan gable. If you were listening carefully, what he was talking about is that we should all wrestle because thats what life is about. Its not just what is happening on the mat. You should take your wrestling game, your ability to bounce back and to life. A lot of messaging there. Action he stood alongside the president , the president gave a lot of those beautiful resume points. But the part that really stuck out, yes, he was a world champ in 1971. He wont the pan american games, the olympics in 72, never gave up a point in his six matches at the olympics. But the real jumping off point for dan gable is what he did for ncaa history and the sport of wrestling. He led the hawkeyes of iowa state to 21 straight big ten titles. 15 ncaa Team Championships and he coached 152 allamericans. 46 National Champions and 12 olympians. Match having the kind of life and passion to want to inspire people to go even further than you went and youre considered to be the best. Amazing. Amazing from the oval office today. I know you have two. Thanks for being with me today. First of all, ive heard you talk about this with the Indoor Dining. We have situations where Outdoor Dining is going on. What is happening to you and why are you facing possible jail time . Well, the governor, you know, applied unlawful and unconstitutional mandates that we cant be open indoor or outside. We cant have anyone in our restaurants. Were only allowed to do drivethru, which i do not have or they could pick up. Yeah, thats what hes trying to do to restaurants right now and bars. You know, one of the things that people havent be talked in detail about that im curious about, this was not cheap to do what you do. You understand covid19 restrictions. You probably had to make some modifications. Were looking at the inside of your establishment now. I have to think the tables were placed per some restriction orders that what given previously. You didnt just make it up. Exactly. We try to follow the protocols that we can. We follow all of them, six feet distancing. We do not mandate or tell people they have to wear a mask. That is not our job. If they want to wear a mask, theyre more than welcome to. If they come without a mask, theyre more than welcome to. Were not going to Police People on wearing a mask or not wearing a Face Covering when the science doesnt support it. Were here to be open, let people know that we care, that we are going to do the distancing. Do what makes sense. Harris lets talk about money. Because some Small Business owners are having to get legal representation. Also not cheap. What are you willing to do to fight this and what does it mean if you dont win . Im going to fight this all the way. Im not closing my doors for anything. You cannot a governor cannot shut down businesses at a whim. He cannot pick and choose who is a winner. All americans essential. For him to say that my business is nonessential and we have to shut down i have two businesses, a gymnastic gyms and a restaurant. I had to shut down because he thinks were not essential. For me, im not going to back down to tyranny. Thats not what im going to do and im not going to teach my daughters that that is okay because somebody is a bully and use the force of the law to come after you. Im not going to back down. If i loss everything, ill lose everything. Ill start over. Thats not the point. As americans we should be fighting against governors or anyone that mandates something that is unlawful and unconstitutional. I dont care what that is. For me, teaching my daughters is the most important thing to stand up for themselves, for good and for each other. If we dont do that as americans im sorry . Harris just real quickly, what are you told when you ask for the science . Because if there really is Science Behind closing these businesses, do they present it to you . No. Of course theres science on both sides. One minute as you complain, fauci changes everything daily, hourly. The science has been there with what they said before. You dont get to pick and choose science. They have known before that masks dont work. They done studies before the flu. Now can covid, it changes. Thats not how science works. You should repeat it constantly. Anybody should do it. Thats what real science is. Thats what i want to see, real science. Harris interesting. Some of the science has shown that it certainly is necessary to have that ppe if you were working on the front lines or around people that are sick. So youre right. There may be some language that needs to be cleaned up on mask wearing in particular. They dont tell you that harris i hear you. I hear you. Because from the very beginning, we were told, you know, you didnt necessarily need them and that might have been, because certain people needed them on the front lines. We needed to be told the whole truth. Your daughter looks at you the way i hope anybody would look at whom they love like myself as a mom. Youre setting that example. Hang in there. To me, from where i sit and the information i have at hand, the evidence is overwhelming that if only lawful votes cast by eligible american citizens were counted, donald trump won the Electoral College and would be the next president of the United States. Harris congressman, on november 25, alabama had already certified or they did on that day certified the election that that state for president elect joe biden. What would it take Going Forward . Youre going to go against what if state did. How do you do that exactly . On january 6, the United States constitution of the United States code, the states will certify their results to the United States congress. Only when the United StatesCongress Accepts those certifications are those submissions of Electoral College votes binding on the United States government. If we choose to reject them or any one of them, then they do not count towards that candidates total in the Electoral College. Now, im not suggesting a rejection of all Electoral College submissions of all states. Im focused on ones that have election systems that are so badly flawed as to render the reported results untrustworthy in which case we should not ratify an untrustworthy election system. We should reject it. Harris fascinating. Injury looking specifically where the Trump Campaign and others have pressed forth legal movement. Youre following that travel to see what is broken and so on and so forth. An nbc oped argued that your effort is dead in congress. They said im quoting. What is your response to that . If you dont fight, youre guaranteed to lose. I will acknowledge this is an uphill fight. Lets be clear about something in the house of representatives. In the house of representatives, theres a legitimate disagreement over what kind of vote wins. The 12th amendment to the United States constitution where the house is electing a president of the United States says that its a majority of the 50state delegations. You know what . Right now republicans have a majority of 27 state delegations, democrats only have 20. So we have a majority of the state delegations. The question is, this is an unanswered question, is whether that same principle enunciated applies to the part of the president relative to the rerereif were ever going to have any hopes of fixing it. So this kind of election theft and voter fraud does not happen again. Harris wow. Congressman mo brooks. Fascinating to hear this because the implications for the future is what your focused on.
