More votes found in the state of georgia and more u. S. Troops soon coming home from the middle east in asia. In williamsport, pennsylvania, Rudy Giuliani leading the Trump Campaign into courts trying to hold off a motion to dismiss the campaigns challenge to the vote in the keystone state. If the obama appointed judge grants the motion to dismiss, it could be a big blow to the Trump Campaign, but giuliani suggests a loss could be a stepping stone to the supreme court. Democrats insist it is well past time for President Trump to move on. The president lost the election. The recount in georgia and other places im sure will demonstrate that. In georgia, more good news for President Trump, another missing memory card, reducing joe bidens margin by another 449 votes, though biden still leads by 13,000 statewide, South Carolina senator Lindsey Graham in the spotlight after meeting with georgia secretary of state on friday, now fending off accusations of election interference. It congressman Adam Kinzinger telling fox news it appears to contradict President Trumps own complaints about his predecessor. President elect joe biden received a National Security briefing today but it was from his own people and a former military leaders, not the Trump Administration or current brats. This comes as Biden Announces New additions to his white house team, additions that some of bidens supporters are not too happy about. If correspondent peter doocy is following all of it tonight from wilmington, delaware. Even though hes pitching a 10 trillion to i address climae change and health care. I will go down as one of the most progressive president s in american history. Some progressives are upset about former pharmaceutical lobbyists, fossil fuel companies, cedric richman, representative for justice democrats now warned, if joe biden continues making corporate friendly appointments to his white house he will risk quickly fracturing the hardearned goodwill to defeat donald trump. It was the democratic teams star pitcher at the annual congressional baseball game, but some Congressional Democrats are fine with biden bringing them aboard. Both of them will be phenomenal additions to a biden presidency and administration. Hes always preparing for the west wing is the American Hospital association, American Medical Association and American Nurses association right to President Trump, all information about capacity of Strategic National stockpiles, the assets for operation warp speed and plans for dissemination of therapeutics and vaccines needs to be shared as quickly as possible. The president elect hosted a zoom call with National Security experts. You know that ive been unable to get the briefing. As allies elsewhere wonder if they are about to be in the mix. Do i call you the next secretary of state . Youre talking to an engaged secretary from delaware. Also on capitol hill, the Vice President select was spotted fist pumping and elbow bumping with some republican colleagues who came to say congrats but there may have been more to it because the Vice President elect told our crew on capitol hill she is very involved in collecting cabinet nominees, ahead of some difficult cabinet nomination votes next year she may have been working the refs. Bret israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahus office said he had a warm conversation with joe biden today, he had congratulated biden and running mate Kamala Harris in a tweet november 8th but he had avoided referring to him as president elect. A statement from the biden teams at the president elect reiterated his steadfast support for israels security and future as a jewish and democratic state, he also spoke with the israeli president. The top executives with tech giants twitter and facebook were on defense against senators of both parties today on capitol hill at a hearing before the judiciary committee. Complaints had to do with censorship, political bias, and the enormous power the social Media Companies wield. Correspondent Gillian Turner takes a look tonight. Republicans on the Senate Judiciary panel went all in on accusations that anticonservative bias has infected every aspect of twitter and facebook, they also noted the irony of twitters ban on a New York Post story about hundred bidens former business dealings. You realize by taking down that story, you probably gave it more prominence and visibility than it ever wouldve gotten had you left it alone. We realize that and we recognize it as a mistake. Democrats say its conservatives who are getting a pass on social media. How many times is steve bannon allowed to call for the murder of government officials . Will you commit to taking down that account . No, thats not what our policies would suggest we should do. Republicans argue the real problem with social medias role in the president ial election is the left. There was a time when democrats embraced and defended the principles of a free press. And yet there is an absolute silence from democrats speaking up for the press outlets censored by big tech. Ditto for Political Violence on the platforms. The only violence im aware of has occurred in connection with antifa. The other prominent issue today, the hundreds of warning labels slapped on trumps post during the election. Something Ceo Mark Zuckerberg says is a drop in the bucket compared to the 300,000 post a flagged. I believe this was the largest Election Integrity effort by any private company in recent times. Democrats argue the opposite, warning labels dont go far enough. Voter fraud garnered more than 300,000 interactions on your platform in the hours after mr. Trump falsely declared victory. In one heated exchange, senator josh hawley pressed Mark Zuckerberg about new allegations that facebook sometimes coordinates with google and twitter, zuckerberg insisted they do coordinate on some security measures but not on anything related to content moderation. Indoor dining wont be allowed, organized sports are suspended and all schooling will be remote for at least the next three weeks. The restrictions are necessary right now, the pandemic is out of control. Nurses are at their breaking point, any help the public can give us will be great to. In seattle, shoppers cleaned out store shelves buying toilet paper and goods ahead of the states limits on occupancy. Ohio was adding a 10 00 p. M. Pritzker who was dodging reports his family will be celebrating in florida. Are you going to follow their no travel advisory mayor lightfoot put in place . I dont know what that says exactly and i dont know exactly what my plans will be but i will certainly be happy to share. State leaders are urging the public to cancel plans and avoid travel, some elected officials from both parties are spending this week on the shores of maui, nearly 20 lawmakers from california, washington, and texas are attending an annual conference at a luxury beachside resort. Even as the pandemic rages, there are encouraging signs, new research from the university of washington suggest the fatality rate for covid19 has dropped by nearly a third of since april due to improved treatment as doctors over time have learned which treatments tend to be the most effective. Bret the senate has rejected President Trumps nominee to the Federal Reserve board, judy shelton who was controversial among democrats and some republicans for wanting to return the u. S. To the gold standard, the white house remains confident she will be confirmed upon reconsideration. The dow fell 167, the s p 500 lost 17, the nasdaq dropped 25. Republicans continue to chip away at the democratic majority in the house, former pro football star Burgess Owens has defeated democratic incumbent ben mcadams for a four seat g. O. P. Sweep in utah, that puts the current balance of power at 219 for democrats, one over the majority and a 204 for republicans. 12 races remain undecided and republicans lead in ten of those uncalled races so far. As the focus of the next few weeks in National Politics centers squarely on the Senate Runoffs in georgia, to examine the increasing role of people from outside the state. Correspondence Jonathan Serrie reports from atlanta. Winning both georgia seats would give democrats partisan control of the u. S. Senate should President Trumps legal challenges failed him a prize that has attracted a flood of outofstate donations for democrats. Raphael warnock has received 80 of his contributions from outside georgia, 83 for jon ossoff. Now they are sending millions more for him because he could help them jam through their radical agenda. Two pro g. O. P. Super pacs launch their first attack ads in the georgia Senate Runoffs. Blocking to georgia to support him. Karl rove is leaving a Republican Fund raising effort to protect the seats of senators Kelly Loeffler and david perdue. Im confident they will both have sufficient money and our team will spend it better but nobody should kid themselves, we are going to be outspent in georgia. According to the washington post, Republican Leaders in a private call with donors expressed concern about striking a balance between loyalty to President Trump and the impact his apparent defeat will have on the georgia races. When asked about the article, a purdue Campaign Spokesman echoed his comments to the post. As we have said from the beginning, this runoff is all about turnout. Senator perdue has been President Trumps strongest ally in the senate and we are proud to have his support in this ra race. With the nations eyes on the Senate Runoffs in georgia, state officials are warning they will vigorously prosecute who falsely claims residents to vote. Earlier, andrew yang raised some eyebrows when he said he would move to the state to help democrats but he later specified he would be campaigning and canvassing but not voting in georgia. Bret up next, why the bosses at target removed the book from their shelves and replaced it after a backlash. Heres whats on the affiliates around the country are covering tonight. There is controversy tonight over a book removed from the shelves at target and then replaced. It has to do with the very sensitive subject and has given rise to backlash. Mike emanuel explains tonight. The book is about teenage girls undergoing medical transition to fast with too little oversight and the author says cancel culture tried to ban her book. The books title irreversible damage the transgender craze seducing our daughters documents the risk of what could be hasty lifechanging decisions. Its author explained her view and a wall street journal opinion piece writing i think mature adults should have the freedom to undergo medical transition, but teenagers are another matter. Social contagions exist and teen girls are susceptible to them. She goes on to argue in another era, the girls mightve fallen prey to anorexia or bulimia, the author explained the issue in an interview with our tucker carlson. We are seeing 2 of high school students, most of whom are teenage girls claiming to be transgender. We know this is a large spike which doesnt seem to make sense and even strangers clustered in friend groups, teenage girls are coming out with their friends. We know this is socially driven. Target said i think the Trans Community deserves a response. It was temporarily banned by target, the company reversed course after a backlash, all the attention has made it a best seller for lgbt books. Bret up next, questioning some of the questioners, a look at how the Mainstream Media is treating joe biden as compared to President Trump. Have you spoken to your longtime friend in the senate mr. Bret joe biden has indicated unions will have a lot more say in his administration, but not everyone in the Business World thinks thats a great idea. Correspondent mark merritt of looks at both sides tonight. Im a union guy, the unions will have increased power. President biden says hes a supporter for unions, its welcome news to groups like the aflcio who says after the election, its members are hungry for a bigger voice in our economy and politics. The biden promises to strengthen public and private sector unions even if Union Membership has decreased. To the Labor Department reports 14. 6 million workers, roughly 10 of earners, were union members, thats down from 20 of the workforce in the early 1980s. Joe biden is a tool for organized labor. Freedom foundation, a group that encourages public and private sector employees not to join unions, he argues increasing Union Membership now may kill Small Businesses struggling to survive. What unionization would do to these business, it would make them pay for things they cant afford, they cant afford to hire more employees, they cant afford to increase employees wages right now, they are struggling just to stay open. Bidens campaigns as empowering unions levels the Playing Field for workers, under his plan the government would rage minimum wage to 15 per hour, hold executives accountable for violations of labor law, incentivize collective marketing and strengthen workplace protection. During his call with labor leaders monday, he spoke with ceos of some of americas Largest Companies including gm and target. A potential sign Corporate America is willing to work with the president elect for now as the debate over potential new labor law gets underway. The biden administrations labor strategy may depend on who is chosen as labor secretary, among the names floating around in vermont senator bernie sanders, boston mayor marty walsh, and Michigan Democratic congressman andy let it. Bret you can make the case joe biden has been given a pass by the Mainstream Media, some media who cover media noted that exhibit a was mondays News Conference. Fox news media analyst and host of fox media buzz howard kurtz shows us tonight. Nbc reporter set the tone at joe bidens News Conference yesterday by asking him about donald trump. What do you see is the biggest threat to your transition given President Trumps unprecedented attempt to obstruct and delay a smooth transfer of power . What is your message to republicans who are backing of the president s refusal to concede . At the end of the day, do you want him to concede . Speak of these journalists handpicked by the biden team inviting him to attack the president provide a striking contrast to the negative sometimes hostile questions regularly fired at trump and press secretary kayleigh mcenany. Youre the president , youre not someones crazy uncle. On the campaign trail you called yourself a nationalist, some saw that as emboldening white nationalists. I dont know thats such a racist what do you say to your critics who say youre creating a national emergency. Your cnn, your fake news, you have an agenda. I have the record right here. The media goes haywire about interrupting debates and chooses to pursue that very same tactic themselves. Reporters did ask biden a half dozen questions about future policies, reflecting that he has no actual powe power untl inauguration. He wasnt asked about leftwing violence against Trump Supporters at a weekend rally in washington. With biden planning to restore the daily press briefings, his offense looked different. Reporters lowkey and socially distant from the noisy, tight scrum that usually surrounds trump. Journalists are believed about a president who doesnt attack them as an enemy of the people but if they are soft on biden, many Trump Supporters will conclude that their approach to the current president has been personal and political. Bret up next, the panel with a trump teams latest maneuvers in court about the election. Theres no responsibility more important in protecting the American People. If humoring the president needs misleading the American People about the results of the election, its wrong. Theres a way to deal with disputes, its called the courts. The courts are dealing with whatever disputes there are, whatever evidence may be provided and we are going to have an orderly transfer from this administration to the next one. Bret there you see some of the back and forth as the trump Team Continues to fight in court in pennsylvania, nevada, other places as well. Meantime the Government Agency designed to overload the infrastructure of elections, to police it is the ci on allegations that election systems were manipulated, 59 Election Security experts all agree in every case of which we are aware, these claims have been unsubstantiated or are technically incoherent. Lets bring in our panel, former White House Press secretary ari fleischer, amy walter, editor for polk potomac Cook Political Report and been oby have every right to fight these battles but so far they havent been successful, is there a path you have heard or seen where they may be . I dont know about a path if the definition of success is reelecting President Trump and sending him back to the white house for another term, i think there are a lot of interesting and significant questions that have been raised across the board about our elections in a number of different areas in accordance with a responsible approach to this, it should be adjudicated in the courts. Its not like this is the last election we are going to have, we are going to have an election in 2022 and in 2024, we might have a significant role for mail in ballots them and its incumbent upon all of these officials involved to approach this with seriousness because we need both parties to feel like the issue here were adjudicated in responsible ways, they had a transparent approach at the end of the day and can be confident and one of the things i think we can be grateful for at this moment is the margins are not closer in light of these states. As you saw in georgia, finding new ballots that had not been included in the in the initial count there, a total that looks to be close to nearly 5,000 imagine a scenario where the vote was closer and there was obsessive coverage of what was going on. I think we should be grateful in this instance that there arent more questions. Bret speaking of georgia, obviously that spread even after the found votes, but you have the secretary of state, a republican coming out and he says georgia secretary of state said monday that he has come under increasing pressure in recent days from fellow republicans including senator Lindsey Graham from South Carolina who he said he questioned the validity of legally cast absentee ballots in an effort to reverse President Trumps narrow loss in the state, here is senator graham responding to that. Thats ridiculous, i talked about how you verify signatures. I suggested as you go forward, can you change it to make sure that a Bipartisan Team verifies signatures and if there is a dispute come up with a process . Why does a senator from South Carolina called the secretary of state from georgia anyway . Because the future of the country hangs in the balance. Bret your thoughts on all of this. There isnt a secretary of state in this country who should call this pressure when they are just getting a question, after every close election, every secretary of states job is to shoulder the burden of explaining very transparently what went right and what went wrong and for them to say for one partys pressure is really outofbounds. Secretaries of state know that, they have hard jobs and theyre going to get challenged from all sides. It comes with the territory, its a perfectly legitimate question but what we all have to look at here is what can happen Going Forward. We have an election in the fat of thats going to get redone this cycle because the vote was so close, a ten vote difference they dont have confidence in the election. I went through that in florida when it was a 500 vote difference. Every election should lead to learning how to do it better from the next election and no one should question. Bret you have this process, the certification of the vote happens in each state and eventually the state has elect doors that are seated for the electoral college. You have instances now that are popping up for instance in wayne county, michigan, where they are deadlocked and they are refusing to certify the vote even though its not really close on the numbers when it comes to michigan, your thoughts on that. These arguments are ridiculous, i have interviewed before this election numerous republican, democrat election officials, they worked under incredibly difficult circumstances to make sure this election, one held in a pandemic was done accurately and transparently, nobody can argue that. There has not been one instance of fraud that has been found. These are baseless accusations, its undermining our democracy. This is calling into question the actual people who are doing this work day in and day out. Elections will be certified, the elect doors who are selected will go and vote. Joe biden will be selected as president of the United States and this needs to stop. This is dangerous, this is not just lets let the courts figure it out, this is saying to people spreading all of these conspiracies and rumors about machines and people changing votes, it is dangerous and it should stop. Bret your thoughts on that . I dont think asking questions is dangerous. Is not asking questions asking questions leads to better outcomes. The machines that are supposed to match signatures on file were set at a 40 threshold, and other words a lot of signatures that didnt match well got through. Why was it at 40, why not a higher threshold . There is legitimate questions that should always be asked and i dont think it will overturn the election, the margin is too high. This is good government, we should want to find out. Bret the courts can go through the process, there is a date by which they have to certify and the electors have to be seated december 14th. Its really important for us to have confidence in an election where we had so many rule changes, so many efforts to try to make this mail in balloting work in intense times, one where there was a lot of context that made everything more difficult. I think thats why these questions are emerging, if you have a system that looked a little bit more like florida after they made the changes they did in the wake of their negative experiences, we might have more confidence overall in the result and i think its important that everybody does have resulted in the confidence and i think we are going to get there, its not going to take as long as it did in the case of 2,000. Bret when we come back, we are going to talk about georgia. We are going to prosecute that and work in concert with our intern a general and put notice to that same effects. That would be voter fraud and severe penalties come up to 100,000 fine, ten years in prison. Bret the georgia secretary of state responding to calls for somebody to move into georgia for the two runoffs there, two senator runoffs with the balance of power really hanging in the balance. There you see the contenders back with the panel. This is going to be a Battle Royale in georgia. Money, focused, pretty much everything. Theres a history of this in georgia, after many president ial races, weve gone to runoffs, i remember after bill clinton defeated george h. W. Bush in 1992, there was a runoff a couple months later. Bret paul i could go down the line. It keeps happening and thats because you have a huge turnout in the president ial that brings out many more democrats and you have much more intensity of republican turnout in the special election. If some information just came out about democratic candidate warnock calling police bullies, thugs, and gangsters, he question the Second Amendment and they found a sermon he gave in 2011 in which he said you cant serve god and the milita military. I guess hes saying that if youre in the military, you cant be religious. Theres a lot republicans can work with him just that one race alone. Bret those videos are popping up in recent days. The graphic we just put up there is the house balance of power, there are still 12 races not called yet but right now, republicans are leaving in ten of them. That majority is pretty slim for nancy pelosi if it goes as its projected to go as it stands now, she might only be able to lose three seats before she loses the majority on any bill. Its looking like right now the majority is six or seven seats for democrats, a very slim majority and republicans lived with that very narrow majority i remember in the late 90s, early 2000s and were able to hold onto it until 2006. The bigger question for democrats Going Forward is we know there is a history in midterm elections of the party in the white house losing seats in that next election in the house and in the senate. Those seats that will be in danger are some of the ones democrats barely held onto and some of those suburban swing districts where increase in turnout did help in some cases, but it also hurt them and some of the races that they did lose. 2022 could be a really problematic election for democrats if history repeats itself. Bret obviously republicans outperformed all projections going in to election day. Last think im a big tech capitol hill again. A lot of questions about the preelection efforts of the hunter biden story. You realize you probably given more prominence and visibility than id ever wouldve gotten had you left it alone. We realize that and recognize it as a mistake that we made, both in terms of the intention of the policy and the enforcement action of not allowing people to share it publicly or privately. Bret mistakes are easier to talk about after the election. I would encourage all of your viewers to go back and look at the clinic that senator josh hawley put on in his questioning of Mark Zuckerberg about a number of different things, particularly the invasion of privacy of different facebook members, a tool they use internally that attracts people across not just what they say on facebook but what they say on other sites as well. Coordinating across big tech in terms of determining what to bam and two to clamp down on, this is going to be a big issue in one of the big factors is going to be the tension between justice democrats and the like putting out a Statement Today criticizing the biden president ial elect group for having too many people related to big tech in their orbits, too many people from Corporate America, that is going to be a tension that we see play out on both sides of the aisle, but it is going to be very pronounced when it comes to democrats and the ability of leadership to try to find ways to satisfy progressives who are just as critical of big tech for a lot of other reasons as well. Bret this big tech story is a big one that has a lot of different tentacles and well continue to follow. When we come back, celebrating some big wins. For members like. An air force veteran made of doing whats right, not whats easy. So when a hailstorm hit, usaa reached out before he could even inspect the damage. Thats how you do it right.
