Disparity today. We have the south Korean National security adviser before the meeting that took place with President Trump and president moon saying theres a 99. 9 chance that this meeting will happen june 12. That was the read of the south koreans. President trump sits down, takes questions and he seems to suggest that maybe this might not happen at all, maybe it might not happen after june 12. He gave a message that we heard the last several weeks, which is this. Well see what happens. In any event, the second week in a row now, the president said he would offer up security protections. He tried to make this pitch to the north korean dictator that a Better Future could lie ahead. We will guarantee his safety. We talked about that from the beginning. He will be safe, he will be happy, his country will be rich. His country will be hard working and very prosperous. However, neil, that raises the question why a dictator that has repressed his people for years and his family did so should be offered a security blanket . The press secretary Sarah Sanders was asked earlier today if that would be morally right. The goal and the purpose of these conversations would be to have complete and total denuclearization of the peninsula, and the president has been up front about that part of the conversation. Were going to continue to move forward. Back to the timeline. The white house was asked, Sarah Sanders was asked if theres a drop dead date for this meeting to occur. She wouldnt say when that date might be. Neil . Neil did you get a read, blake, theyre getting cynical now, that theyre not as optimistic as they were, that something happened in that second meeting of the north Korean Leader meeting with the chinese president that something transpired things . President trump said as much. One of the big gripes sitting down with president moon, he feels that the second meeting that occurred with kim jongun and president xi that the u. S. Didnt know about, that something happened after the fact and we now know that the north koreans pulled it back, but President Trump feels that something happened in that second unannounced meeting that maybe leaves north korea to say, you know, maybe we want to walk away from this. Of course, they are pointing the finger at john bolton and his comments that he made a couple weeks back about the libya model being the model that should be used for denuclearization. You know what happened to qaddafi. The president said today, neil, that they feel something might have happened during the second meeting. It all goes together with trade and china. Neil ben, is here with us. What happened . Im here. Neil let me get your read them. Where are we going here . What is happening . President trump struck the right tone. Hes not just speaking to the American People or the journalists, he was speaking to kim jongun and he was speaking to the chinese. The president understand the United States is holding the cards, whether the summit goes through or not. Kim jongun is trying to seize the p. R. Narrative. Thats whats taking place now. Neil you think something happened with the chinese president to change the strategy here . The chinese are always playing games. Last friday they landed a long range Strategic Bomber in south china sea. Neil and launched a rocked rocket to the moon. And theyre outspending us in quantum computing. This is dangerous stuff. I like the secretary state. One thing that has not been widely reported, as soon as he got in there, he put a mechanism in place to open up the back channel dialogue with north korea, this is a solid secretary of state and is paced to be one of the greatest secretary of states of all time. Neil whatever you make of the secretary of state, if the meeting doesnt happen on the 2 12th for whatever reason, then what . Thats what the president said to conditional. Im going to guarantee your safety. You can be a rich country. We have not lost an informational war campaign with the likes that kim jongun can never seen. We can turn our Army Psychological Operations loose. This administration understands, less than a year ago, kim jongun had to hire kgb agents to train body guards. Hes speaking to the home team. Hes had problems on the home front. So the president , would you just describe it as low balling expectations . Maybe things got ahead of itself and we were going overoptimistic . I think hes keeping them guessing. Its going forward. Real problem has been made. Theres no question about it. Its american strength that has gotten him to the table at this point. What we do or dont do is going to determine whether or not this president can close what i call the biggest deal of all time. I want to highlight singapore. When we say that kim jongun, youve got a chance to be a rich country, we say you can be singapore. Its a shining capable of what capitolism can do. American vestment is flowing there now. Duke medical university has a branch campus. Lets play that up and seize that p. R. Initiative. Neil obviously this leader doesnt want to end up like moammar qaddafi. Weve made assurances that youll be fine, your country will be fine. How much is being driven by kim jongun and worried about whether we mean that . Its real. The fact that he had to hire ten exkgb agents to train body guards. Neil on any level, if he plays his cards right, he will stay in power, hes a known murder and butcher but the only leader they got and he will continue to lead. If he really denuclearizes. Thats what its about. Neil denuclearize means what to you . Getting rid of that capability to where they could have a Nuclear Device with the sufficient range with ballistic capability to hit the United States. Also lets say that they do neil do they have a different definition . Big time. Experts think theres 10,000 Nuclear Experts and technicians in north korea. Even if you do denuclearize, they have the capability. Only an old Ronald Reagan man. Trust but verify. Its going to be a phased approach. Neil let me ask you, you mentioned Ronald Reagan. He was willing to walk away from the talks, in the middle of the talks. He came back and got what he wanted. Is that something that you can see President Trump do something. Certainly can. He conveyed that message today. If it does happen, it does. This president understands one thing. His most important responsibility is president of the United States is as commanderinchief. Keeping the American People safe. Thats his first around foremost responsible tip. He gets it. Neil when youre at a an army navy game, who do you root for . Im an army guy. Many years ago, i was training for drill sergeant. Neil i can believe that my mistake. Thanks for seeing you. You dont miss with this guy. If you shook his hand, he can break it and he wants to break it after this. Meantime, a former Trump Campaign aide claiming remember that individual that infiltrated the Trump Campaign . What about multiple informants that have penetrated the Trump Campaign in the fall of 2016 . If it sounds incredible, hear the reasoning behind this. Former trump aide queried by Michael Caputo thanks for being back. Thanks for having me. Neil so youre convinced there was more than one individual . Yes, i am. To my approach, it happened in the first week of may of 2016. Far off the timeline that the Mueller Investigation and others are trying to hold to it to when the investigation into the Trump Campaign actually began. Trace so when you say may of 2016, what happened . The discovery of somebody penetrating the campaign or what . I was approached by an enter mediatory who had been talking to a government official, a former government official, that told him that they had Hillary Clintonrelated emails at that Government Organization and that they wanted to get them to the Trump Campaign. This was may 6 that he heard that in 2016. I was told by the intermediary that they wanted to get them to me. This continued back and forth several days. I was in trump tower at the time when i got a call. I would walk outside the office. I spent time in the hallway outside the fifth floor office talking to this enter mediatory. Neil at trump yes, sir. Neil all right. So you youre a top Campaign Aide in the spring of 2016. This intermediary. What does that mean . Its a friend of mine that is willing to go on the record at the right time. Were here on your show to be cautious about names of people and organizations. He wants to be on the record, hes willing to talk to fox. He and i were both amazed that we were getting this kind of a contact from a Government Organization. Neil who was talking to the intermediary or what Government Agency . What could you say . I cant say the name of the Government Agency. It was a former contractor for that agency that said the actual Staff Members of the agency had Hillary Clintons related emails. We believe that to mean at the time, early may, Hillary Clinton had revealed that she had deleted 30,000 emails and we believed it meant that they had those 30,000 emails. By the way the time may 16 came around, i came to the conclusion that i did not want to take possession of these emails. I thought they might be classified documents. I urged through the intermediary that the people at the Government Organization do it through a proper whistleblower process. I never revealed this conversation to anyone at the Trump Campaign. I was uncomfortable talking about it. I then broke off contact with that Government Organization representative. Neil but you knew then that someone from the outside wanted to connect with someone on the inside of the Trump Campaign, beginning with you. Thats right. I left the campaign on june 20th. That same person, the former contractor for the Government Organization reached back out to the intermediary in the end of jewel trying to get him interesting again in those emails. He again refused to work with them on it. What really disturbed me at the time, neil, i you know, i didnt want to be involved in bringing in this kind of information. I thought it made me look cooky when i came in to tell them i had access to Hillary Clintons deleted emails. Then it was frightening for me. It could be a crime for me to take them in my own custody. Later on i was i gave this information to the house Intelligence Committee. I gave this information to the Senate Intelligence committee and i gave this information to the mueller team. They never reached out to the intermediary to check on it. Neil so you raised to be clear, you raised this issue with muellers team when they were questioning you. They did nothing . They werent even interested. They didnt seem to be taking notes. I offered them the timeline neil what did you think of that . Youre talking about someone from the possibility trying to penetrate the trump president ial campaign. Did they follow you up on that . They didnt. They didnt call the intermediary who was willing to go on the record about it. I have the telephone number of the former government representative that was trying to give this to us. I dont think they called him as well. Hes kind of gone silent. Neil what does that tell you when they werent interested in that . I was pumped up about this from the beginning. At first i didnt think about it. When i was asked by the house Intelligence Committee in allif anyone offered me emails, they asked me if any russian offered me emails. Didnt come to mind that someone from the u. S. Government apparently was trying to offer me emails. I came back to the House Permanent Select Committee on intelligence after recalling this at later date and gave them that time line. Didnt seem to interest them either. Neil theres so much you can surmise from that. I wouldnt offer any conjecture. Knowing theres one person trying to penetrate the Trump Campaign and maybe more, did it dawn on you the dimensions of that at the time to say nothing of later on when you were talking to mueller and his folks . Ill tell you, at the time it didnt you know, i thought it was odd. I thought it was perilous for me to get my hands on it. You know, i frankly didnt think about it much after that. Then the emails were released in october from wikileaks. I remembered that the government person who was contacting me through the intermediary talked about the swedish or waiver on dealing with iran that was given to the Swedish Companies right about the time that they gave 26 million to the clinton foundation. That came out in the wikileaks emails in late october. I blew my mind. I remember then i was not on the campaign by then. I remembered that that had been brought up in the first week of may. To me it struck me why are we talking about wikileaks emails that somebody was trying to give me in may. Neil startling. A lot of questions here as to who would be interested in doing this, why were several interested in doing this. When all is said and done, why the mueller folks werent that curious about this. So much we dont know. Well see, this much we do know, in the next segment, the guy that wont quit. Okay, yup. Good night. With accident forgiveness your rates wont go up just because of an accident. Switching to allstate is worth it. Well, i think i make a better senator than the other two candidates and i think i can win. Neil so when you head patri Patrick Morrisey say that you could continue the republicans this senate seek pick up, you say what . I say number 1, that when i was running in the primary, they said i was running solely to be vengeful against senator manchin. Now theyre saying im running to cause senator manchin to win. Im running to win. Neil you must know you have better odds of taking votes away from the republican candidate than the democratic incumbent, right . Not 100 sure of that. The democrats are very fed up with senator manchin and theres a lot of democrats that are in southern West Virginia in the mining fields where im known and respected. Neil so having placed third, do you think in that right that you could have much of an impact in this one . Even if you were allowed to run as a thirdparty candidate. Im pretty comfortable im be allowed to run. The law is clear on that. 100 chance if its decided based on the law. Neil theres a sore loser feature and you would be deemed a sore loser, youd say that is wrong . My attorneys tell me that is wrong. Well find out. Based on the law, im confident well be on the ballot and if we are we have a chance of winning because of their flawed past. Neil has the attorney general reached out to you or you to he after the primary . No, ive not talked to him. I talked to him after the debate on fox but im not sure. I may have spoken to him one more time after that. Neil have you spoken to senator manchin . No, i havent spoken to senator manchin in seven or eight years. Senator manchin, if you recall, said i had blood on my hands after the explosion. Of course, its of great interest to hear this talk about the department of justice and being so corrupt and all of these issues that they had. It was the department of justice that indicted me on three felonies but couldnt convict me on any. Its disappointing that the news media and this network as well continues to tell people im a felon whichs never been convicted of a felony. Im less likely to be a felon than anyone given that i was investigated for 4 1 2 years and they couldnt find anything. Neil so what are you if you served time in jail . A misdemeanor. The only one to serve time in california. That should tell us something as when when theyre sending misdemeanors to prison when they cant communicate. Its pretty telling. Neil there are those that would disagree with that. Theyre saying its bigger than a misdemeanor when 29 people are killed in a mining accident in 2010 for which you or your company was held accountable for violating Safety Standards and the rest. You dont agree with that and obviously you felt that way afterwards. That would be more than a misdemeanor, right . If you stretch it that far. The government blew up the coal mines. The government wanted to cover what happened neil did you violate Safety Standards . That you violated Safety Standards and thats what prompted all of this and you to go to jail . No, ive never violated a safety standard myself. Coal companies have lots of violations. This mine was average. It had less than one violation per inspector a day over 2 1 2 years. Both the media and the government made it out it was an extraordinary number. It was 20 less than the mine next door and 20 more after i left the company. Is so its an easy story for the media and the government to tell, but its untrue. Mr. Blankenship, im wondering now, if you pursue this, obviously youd raise can understand among Senate Republicans that this is a potential pickup for them including Mitch Mcconnell that hoped that you would lose and he had his witsh, i think he sent you a snarky reminder after that. Is this about Mitch Mcconnell . No. Its about the establishment neil who is the establishment . Its both the republicans and the democrats. You know, you have a situation where they are more responsible for the parties. Somebody needs to stand up against them. Ive been so abused by the government and sent to prison as a misdemeanor, im very motivated to stand up against this nonsense. Neil a couple weeks ago, you were the establishment. You were running for the republican nomination. Im sorry . Neil a couple weeks ago, you were the establishment. You were running for the republican nomination. Now it seems after failing to get it, placing third, youre bitter and angry and now youre not establishment and youre running apart from those parties, right . Neil again, you can say that. Its not true. I ran on the platform of not voting for Mitch Mcconnell and on the platform of balancing the budget and on the platform of stopping the efforts to police the world, which West Virginians to believe in. Neil didnt they vote accordingly and say whatever the merits. They didnt run on the facts. They ran on what fox news and others were saying that i was a felon, including President Trumps son neil im just saying that to be clear, are you saying that residents and voters that opted for two other candidates over you were dooped . Yes, im saying they were misled by the president s son to six or seven separators to the department of justice and a whole host of other people. Because everyone joined in to this lie about my having something to do with the explosion. I was never even tried for anything to do with the explosion. And president obama claims that he knew what happened at the coal man before anybody went underground. Neil im sorry, sir. But would you do if the state said you cant do this, we have this law in effect, your lawyer seemed to be telling you no, you can get on the ballot anyway as a write in. Is that the last the last strategy, you can use as a write in candidate . I could. Im not going to have to. The law they wrote another law just a couple months ago that takes effect in june trying to clarify their sore loser law. They obviously werent comfortable with the sore loser law neil so youre not a sore, bitter loser . No. Im a little bit bitter at the fact that people continue to report that im a felon and continue to claim something that is obviously false. I think that, you know, i75 from laura ingle and judge napolitano have to stop that. Neil we can go around and around on this, sir. I understand. We can go around on this. Bottom line is that you are hell bent on getting on that ballot one way or the other even though the state says you cant . The state hasnt said we cant. The state hasnt decided that yet. When we finally filed the papers to be on the ballot neil the chairman of the Democratic Party says you cant. But that could change. Thank you very much. Well watch thank you. I appreciate it. Neil all right. Well have more after this and the implications of all of this. One picky customer shouldnt take all your time. Thats where office depot can help. That your business is our business the United States postal service. Priority you neil Don Blankenship says he can run as a thirdparty candidate and that he is not a convicted felon. The judge is here to say, you know what . Hes right. You know, he might not be so crazy. Don blankenship running as a thirdparty candidate in a state that has a sore loser law and says he cant. According to judge andrew napolitano, he can. Let me say that Don Blankenship is correct. I once inadvertently said on air that he was a convicted felon. He was not. He was acquitted of the felony charges against him. The only thing he was convicted of is a misdemeanomisdemeanor. He was convicted of the least of the charges against him. Neil so serving in jail doesnt make you a convicted fellow. Thats correct. Neil which is his point. Thats correct. I believe hes right to challenge in federal court, not in a West Virginia state court the sore loser law and i think almost any federal judge would invalidate it. The people have the right to vote for whom they want. The sore loser law is a selfprotection written by the Political Parties and a disenfranchisement. And i may want joe manchin, the most conservative democrat in the senate. Put aside who i want. The people of West Virginia have the right to express their fact that they want somebody else and the Political Parties cant gang up together to prevent them from doing that. I think he has a very good argument. Neil that law, has it been challenged . I know they have it a couple other places. The idea, you lose the primary, you cant i believe that this im sure he will file the challenge. Hes determined. This is the first time it will have been challenged in West Virginia. Neil without getting into politics and what effect it would have, the traditional argument is that he would potentially hand the see to joe manchin. The other issue is, if youre going to have primaries, there ought to be a winner and a loser. If the loser doesnt make it let alone place third, he had no right to consider this, whether hes arguing its on behalf of the people or not. Sometimes the parties write laws to protect themselves and i think neil if he had lets say a close race and he lost by a few votes. Give it another shot. God bless him. Let the people decide. Neil so where do you see this going . You think the state would uphold it . The state is very much in favor of the sore loser law. The state wants it to be republican or democrat. He would be a maverick republican and not the traditional republican. You might not call him a republican. Neil the democrats embraced it. Now the democrats liking it because it would improve their chances. It would appear that he would take votes from morrisey instead of joe manchin. Neil youre so good. Only in america. An Irish Catholic republican goes to West Virginia and gets successful in politics. Neil let me get your take on i talked to the congressman in the state of new york who is hiring an additional prosecutor to do we have bites of this or no . It got i wouldnt say nasty but i question the wisdom of that. This is what he had to say about it. In a weird way, youre going to keep this nightmare going on and on and on. Investigations, investigations investigating other investigations. This is a narrow scope that is neil so was the mueller probe. It was a narrow scope. I dont think you appreciate the americans frustrations. But theres actual evidence of misconduct when you have the attorney general meeting on the tarmac neil no, no, congressman. Dont i definitely can appreciate the magnitude of the charges there that do require investigating. But i think we have a process in place to do it. Youre lining up lawyers like planes at la guardia. I got a lot of nasty emails. People saying youre a rotun the loser and a never trumper that has never shown an ounce of decency. Who will say youre right on the mark and theres no such thing as narrow scope and special counsel. Thats why Justice Scalia dissented. Theres a natural tendency for the special counsels to expand and expand and expand the scope. Neil he wants to get another counsel to look at these improprieties going on at the various agencies. Fine. Cant the Inspector General do that . If theres crimes there, the Justice Department can prosecute them. We dont need another independent counsel. The publics patience is very thin already. Neil so you think his cause is legit but this vehicle is not. Yes. Neil so the Inspector General is doing his own thing, the emails and that can be added to his burden . Absolutely. The Inspector General will inquire i think he should wait until after the Mueller Investigation is over. Because it helps to know what the charge is at the end of the investigation to figure out what the cause of the beginning neil so you think hes wasting his time . Yes. If everybody in Congress Wants an independent counsel, doesnt mean anything. Its up to one person. Rod rosenstein. Neil you ought to pursue this legal thing. Youre Getting Better and better. Gasparino teaches me. Neil thats insulting there. I get a lot of nasty mail on this. Im surprised theyre so rough with you. Neil im so vulnerable. Why are they so rough with you . Neil i dont know. Im friends with you. The dow down 178. How all of this is entering the mix after this. Im still giving it my best even though i live with a higher risk of stroke due to afib not caused by a heart valve problem. So if theres a better treatment than warfarin, im up for that. Eliquis. They thought someday it could become fuel and power our cars wouldnt that be cool . And thats why exxonmobil scientists think its not small at all. Energy lives here. I gave this information to the mueller team and they never reached out to the intermediary to check on it. So when i neil just to be clear, you raised this issue with muellers team when they were questioning you. And they did nothing . They werent even interested. They didnt even seem to be taking notes. I offered them the neil what did you think of that . Youre talking about the possibility of someone from the outside trying to penetrate the trump president ial campaign. They werent remotely interested in did they follow up on it . They didnt call the intermediary that was willing to go on the record about it. Neil so much to get there and we want to get to the special counsels office and hopefully get somebody there on here. This is Molly Hemingway with what she thinks of it. That was an interesting collection of information. Its not totally surprising. Last week the New York Times reported there was at least one spy on the Trump Campaign or at they used the euphemism informant. It stands to reason if there was this widespread spy using wiretaps, at lease an informant, could be more, and we dont know what the answer is. Learning that mueller was not interested in this information and that is just coming from one person so we would need to verify that, is this disconcert something theres not enough interest in the Justice Department to get to the bottom of what happened, what went wrong to lead to the use to the intelligence apparatus. Neil what if mueller knew about it and didnt care . Thats the question that you just said in your previous segment that you thought the scope of his investigation that was narrow. It was written in an incredibly broad fashion and thats one of the problems. Theres a secret expansion of the investigation that has not been reviewed by the public. A lot of problems with the way this particular special counsel probe is being run. Neil its going slightly outside your pursue. Youre so good at this. If there were multiple entities penetrating the Trump Campaign as far back as the spring of 2016 as is alleged, add that up in the enormity or what appears to me to be a nonlegal person, the enormity of that . Remember, we were told this investigation started july 28, 2016. Exactly. So learning there were contacts that were weeks before, months before and we knew that with one of the informants that he was establishing contacts prior to the official opening of this fbi investigation. Whether he was doing that on behalf of the fbi or it seems that he was doing this on behalf of another Intelligence Agency in the u. S. Government, this would be enormous if its not just the fbi. This this was beginning earlier. If some of these meetings that were used to establish the cause, to establish there was this action between russia and the Trump Campaign, if they were actually meetings that were set up by the u. S. Government, that would be pretty big stuff. Theres so much we need to learn. Thats why i want to say, as far as the special counsel, there were problems that come from a special counsel. One of the problems is we cant trust the Justice Department to investigate itself when theyre so complicit in this action that people find to be problematic. So we need to have the Justice Department comply with oversight requests. And theyre leaking broad details to friendly reporters. Why need them to comply with constitutional oversight by congress and just do do a better job of being forth right about what was going on. The men people need to know the answer. Neil they might. Cant the Inspector General handle a lot of that . Even with your concern that these are democratic appointees, its the same Inspector General that went after andy mccabe and now recommended criminal proceedings given the fact that he lied a number of times. So cant that i. G. Do that . Im just trying to limit, no offense to your fine profession, lawyers chewing on each other. I think you have a legitimate concern. The problem is the i. G. Has a limit himself. He cant make anyone who is outside of the agency testify. A lot of the people involved in this were Obama Administration officials or people that have left. They know theyre in trouble for what they did. He had no power over them. Have problem with congress not having the same prosecutorial powers that the Justice Department did. Other hamstrung as well. I think the other problem with the special counsel would be that rod rosen stein cant be trusted to appoint the proper special counsel to investigate rod rosenstein. So im not saying its a perfect dancer but we dont have good answers with the i. G. Or congress. Neil my hair is hurting right now hearing this. Molly, im getting a slight legal handle on it. Molly hemingway knows her stuff. Where this goes, i have no idea. The latest from texas, the shooting that still has more questions than answers. But we are piecing some interesting developments after this. How do you win at business . Stay at la quinta. Where were changing with stylish makeovers. Then at your next meeting, set your seat height to its maximum level. Bravo, tall meeting man. Start winning today. Book now at lq. Com neil all right. Why did he do it . Were still trying to find out why the heck what happened in Santa Fe High School in texas happened. Very few details. Casey stegall with the latest. Hes learning. As they do that, you have lawmakers in austin with roundtable discussions. More on that in a second. First, we want to tell you an update from out here. Students are being let back inside Santa Fe High School today at least portions of it, if they are guided by a police officer, no cameras, no cell phones allowed inside.
