He was with secretary of state mike pompeo during the call and told me that he has already started and will rapidly expand a full and complete investigation into this matter. Answers will be forthcoming shortly. Now, just before that tweet there, the president wrapped up an interview with trish regan and the president said he will soon hear from the secretary of state. The story in saudi arabia is change. First had a complete denial. Now they are saying prance it was an interrogation that went wrong. We know that very few things happen in the kingdom of saudi arabia without the royal family knowing about it. So, we need to get all the facts. But its becoming more clear that the saudi family has some accountability here. Neil thats a big family as you know, senator, a lot of finger pointing has been at the crowned Prince Mohammed bin salman now his father king salman has not indicated which way he would go or push aside his son in favor someone else there are a lot of picks. Should that be done it seems like senators Lindsey Graham has come out on record saying that has got to be at a minimum. Well, the crowned prince clearly has control at this moment why know the king is old and he is ailing. The crowned prince has been all over the Globe Holding the power of the saudi kingdom. So, it is clear that he has to account for what happened. We got to get a clear understanding. Americas Foreign Policy is strong because it is embedded in the principles of human rights and governance. And it is critically important that the United States be in a leadership and dealing with what happened in turkey. Neil you know, have you indicated in the past and we have looked at relations with other countries. We cant pick and choose our friends. Its a region of the world where we want to count at least those who have worked with us because after them it comes down to the israelis. Is it your fear that this is going to sour our relations permanently . I think it will effect our relationship. We have strategic need for the saudis. I think that will continue. Its mutual. But i think it has to change as a result of this activity, assuming, again, the facts points to where it looks like its going. There has got to be a repercussions from that. If not, we will see other World Leaders look at the United States and say, look, we can do whatever we want. To say there is not going to be any consequences. The United States is truly the world leader in promoting the human rights agenda and we need to be very clear in our language and our actions. As to what happened in turkey, not being acceptable. Neil you know, many have looked at 110 billiondollar defense deal we scored with the saudis last year, senator all right just chevrolet that the president has said be careful what you wish for. The saudis can easily go to the chinese or the russians. Is it worth canceling a deal of that magnitude over this incident . Im not exactly sure what the status is of that deal. We need to know that. But we have relationships with the saudis that deal with their military needs, with their economic needs, their energy issues. We have multiple issues that we can choose from na addition to some of us have indicated that the imagine magny type sanctions individual to the people responsible should be considered and we already sent a letter to the administration asking for that. Neil do you think that we have been snookered and this is over a number of administrations, this one, the barack obama, president bush before that, with the saudis, that they have a long history of being twofaced and that we cant trust them . Do you share that . Well, they dont share our western values. There is no question about that. We understanding that. We have to have friends around the world. We have a strategic need for the saudis in regards to our war against terror. We understanding that but, the saudis need to understand that to do business with the United States, that were going to demand that there be respect for International Human rights. And for reporters, i mean, they have been under constant attack. This is an issue that really demands the United States to stand strong in our language and in our actions. Neil all right. But that was also seemed to be a benefit of the bond market because it didnt ignite inflation fears. I could go on and on. So a lot of things that we were really hyper ventilating about last week calmed down this year. Yield on 10 year spiked from 3 to 3 and a quarter sitting at 3. 15 now. The volatility was 10 handels higher last week than it is this week. Price of the barrel of oil has come in four handels when you think about the dollar index come off 74 handle and 94 handle. Things were we were ultra concerned about have calmed down a bit. Also whats happening earning seasonings and Economic Data continues to look good and several companies are reported really good earnings. Coming into to earning season sitting on support bumping up against resistance. Thats th turn we saw today. Neil all the numbers coming in corptsd america still early on in this process danielle. Off the charts. They might have quarter ending up being better than the 19 or 20 earning surge factored in here is that the wind at this markets back or head winds we are looking at. The day started off with news that we had more job openings than we have ever had before it walls a record number. That put a bit of a hop in the market step and then we saw very strong earnings coming out of the financials. Obviously there has been a lot more trading activity, volatility begets activity on wall street. And that is very good for earnings and thats exactly what we have seen pan out. And, of course, we have seen some strength in the energy names as well it doesnt hurt these names. That oil prices have rebounded to the extent that they have. But, again, to arts pointed, they have also come off their highs. That takes a little bit of pressure off the consumer. Everything that possibly could have gone right today definitely lined up and went right. We just got blow out earnings from netflix. Neil they did. Can we do a fox news alert. I love when you do that i get it scares me when i hear it. Neil there you go. Netflix out with earnings that handily beat the street to danielles point. Take this up with you. Shares bigger than the 68 expected. They added a lot of customers, too. About almost 7 million. That is as they say crazy good. It is crazy good. And i mean, just to start with, that earnings figure that you gave me, i mean that is better than 140 and im doing quick math. Versus the Third Quarter last year. Cannot overstate what a win that earnings number is. And then revenue, if you like it exactly in library and what wall street was looking for. The story that most investors care about is exactly what you just talked about, neil, and the number of subscribers added. This was the big question mark. Okay. Sure, you know, the skeptics were saying we know that netflix can continue to add subscribers but just how many. Is it going to peter out . If this is the answer, thats why you are seeing the stock move up 13 after hours. You said it, neil, close to 7 million new subscribers, as far as what the analysts even the most optimistic analysts throughout were looking for slightly more than 5 million. I mean, netflix had given 5 million as guidance. A lot of analysts are saying 5. 1, 5. 2, but close to 7 and even netflix is talking about the Fourth Quarter saying they are going to have yet another large add of new subscribers. And i think this does have to see you lens the critics at least for the next 24 hours. Who knows what comes next. Neil a lot of that art, im wondering, too. These job openings hit a record 7. 1, almost 7. 14 million in august. And that is the back drop for this as well. Now, im wondering how the Federal Reserve danielle as well sort of digests that. I think one of the other things we need to remember here is they can pour that money in. At the same time it comes down to what do they do with that money. Some of them wont use it usefully. Phil, the democrats do seem to be targeting these sort of swing districts im now actually getting into the congressional battle for the house. And those that they feel they have the best chance of flipping. Thats right. I think to madisons point there is going to be a question come the day after election day when democrats are going to look in the mirror and if bait toe orourke doesnt win in texas they will say wow, he was so cool and a lot of fun to watch but did we really need to waste those tens of millions of dollars there . If you do look elsewhere and look at some of these races incredibly tight. The ones that are going to determine whether or not democrats retake control of the house, what we see is, yeah, there is enthusiasm. And, yeah, there is money because right now, republicans, while they have been bringing in significant fundraising totals on their own, republicans arent going to be able to match the glut of negative advertising we are going to hear on radio and Television Going in to election day. Definitely reasonable to be concerned if you are a republican democrat just again you cant win if you are getting outspent. I mow President Trump did it in 2016. I have been going across the country. People are legally excited. One of the things they are disappointed in when it comes to democrats if there were voters on the fence the way they handled the kavanaugh nomination process and the way they have been handling their own party for the past two years. They dont feel there is strong leadership in the Democratic Party and dont feel that the democrats have come forward with a message what they can do for the people. All they hear is we hate trump, we hate trump and we hate republicans. They are sick of that what are these candidates going to do for them and positively impact their life. How do you look at it . Well, i think it hurts both parties and political system in general. One argument she wanted to get this out of the way right after the midterms off and running how does she stack up with all the other obviously identified with the hard left. Very popular figure in the hard left. So is Bernie Sanders, might be a joe biden. This is going to be a crowded field one way or another. Huh . Neil, its more than 25 people. If they didnt learn their lesson from the 2016 republican primary, you know, i understand that they got behind a juggernaut in 2016 and they edged out bernie and just stuck by hillary and paid the price for that they are trying to let 1,000 flowers bloom. They have a huge melt down coming in the party about whether or not they are a center left party or super free lunch socialist party on the left. They havent had that discussion. She is trying to prove that she can sort of build a National Infrastructure and get out in front of everybody and sort of intimidate the candidates who are further back in the field. But i dont think that she or Bernie Sanders at their age and their association with the far left and sort of vacating socialism is necessarily going to the path the democrats take. It might be. She is still going to have an uphill challenge from people who are younger and more vital energized voices in the party. Like i said, i think she is trying to do what hillary did which is to come in early and say im the big foot. Neil the president obviously the remarks he made about her and Stormy Daniels and horse face remark not scoring brownie points with women. Im wondering whether there is a strategy here to say that he is going to divide them, that women are going to be divided and their interests are such among all other candidates that they are not necessarily drawn to Elizabeth Warren and kavanaugh. They might not be a lock for whatever the democratic candidate is or even in the midterms. How does that all sort out . Well, i do think that President Trump still has his coalition behind him. The noncollege white male is firmly behind him as ever. The noncollege white female there has been some slippage if you look at focus groups and polling. They might stay home. They are probably not going to vote democrat. Obviously he has largely lost the White College educated female and those are the voters that the democrats are hoping to turn out former republicans and independents or dem leaners. They hope to turn them out and take the house back with that more energized voter because, neil, you know that the democrats dont have a midterm coalition, africanamericans dont turn out. Younger voters turn out. They are counting on White College educated antitrump energy from women. And i think that trump has pretty much admitted he has largely given up on them for 2020. He is going to battle it out with a divide strategy just, you know, find ago candidate who is the nominee and then attacking them for their weaknesses doesnt matter if they are male or female. I dont see him flying to work his way back to White College educated female in any way with the wha way he is talking about women today he did not i won white women he didnt win women.
