We will get to a lot more than that in just a moment. First to Fox Business NetworkHillary Vaughn in washington on bernies big tax bet. Hillary . Hey, neil, 2020 candidate Bernie Sanders admits that just because he believes healthcare is a human right doesnt mean its going to be tree. If the government replaces private Insurance Companies with his single pair healthcare plan, medicare for all. Going to pay one way or the other. But, look, martha, martha. Whether its in your income tax or payroll tax. Look, hurricane is not free. Of course not. You just said it was going to be free for everyone. Its going to be free at the point of when you use they are cutting out the middle man. Insurance companies. Promising the crowd last night that the government would do something private Insurance Companies dont let you do, pick any doctor you want and any hospital you want. You goal to any doctor that you want, you will go to any hospital that you want, and by the way millions of people today are in networks which prevent them from doing. This so this gives you freedom of choice with regard to the doctors you go to or the hospitals you go. Neil, a medicare for all type plan isnt without its problems. Just last week the feds discovered 1. 2 billiondollar Medicare Fraud scheme that took advantage of hundreds of thousands of medicare patients. The doj charged 24 people and called it one of the largest healthcare frauds in u. S. History. Neil . Neil all right, hillary, thank you very, very much. Hillary vaughn on all of that of course what is a differentiator with this early read of the candidates Democratic Party vying for the Nations Highest Office is a woman they do want to raise taxes on the rich. Senator sanders expanded that to not just the rich and to be fair even though he himself a rich and millionaire and part of the 1 . Is he going to eat his own pudding as i said and tax himself. In the long run he said it would be beneficial for everyone. Step back from all of this and the significance of it. When is the last time you remember a prominent candidate running for the highest office in the land arguing for a tax hike . Does this ring a bell . The budget will be squeezed. Taxes will go up. Anyone who says they wont is not telling the truth to the American People. Neil now, of course, he went on to lose the entire country own state of minnesota, the district of columbia. That awaits any democrat who entertains something similar. Democratic strategist Scott Levinson and wilts with the american rising corporation. You know, interesting. When i looked at the history of this its always risky to talk about raising taxes, period. Normally its okay for democrat to espouse targeting the rich to be senator what he is saying is no, no, more than the rich but everyone will benefit by expanding that pool. I will give Bernie Sanders credit for honesty because a lot of these Democratic Candidates are talking about these big ticket spending items. And they are just saying oh tax the rich more to pay for it when in fact you cant tax the rich enough to pay for these items. So what Bernie Sanders is saying that now we are going to bring those taxes down to the middle class and according to a recent study its going to be about 20,000 more a family if you want to pay for better care for all. If you want to pay for free college tuition. There is going to be a lot of pain felt by middle class families. I think that recent reports that show that with the tax cuts and jobs act, most people felt like they didnt get a tax cut. I will blame the democrats and some of the media on that for the messaging woes there. Neil they argue they didnt see enough of it. People already feel squeezed enough. Its important to have this powerful perspective here when the United States was entering its boom years in 49 throughout the 50s until 1963 we didnt have 70 tax rate. We had 90 tax rate, neil. Neil but he is, again, going beyond upper income rates. We are talking about a year when honey well, when jetblue when netflix, when amazon and General Motors paid no federal taxes. So there is plenty of room on the 10milliondollar earners. Neil why not do something that Elizabeth Warren is advocating go after those companies if thats the route you are going to take. No doubt about it thats inclusive. Neil suicidal what he is doing. I think its important the big distinction between doing what he is doing and what wall per monday tail did. There was no good news in what Walter Mondale did. He was playing defense. What bernie is doing is aspirational. Where is the good news on that . Im sorry healthcare for all. Most people who cant afford their own would suggest that healthcare providing healthcare to americans is good. Neil just to be clear, i know you want to finish it. To be clear 150 million americans have private Health Insurance and whatever they complain about certain aspects of it they like it and they dont want a jetson for something that might be a risk. I dont think there is one american tell you the truth value added healthcare that Insurance Companies are giving us. I can listen, being a Small Business owner, i can tell you that having this universal healthcare and having the having to in the past pay for that according to what we had with obamacare having to accommodate that as a Small Business owner, it was a mast massive impact on me. I could not hire. Get rid of the Insurance Companies. Neil get rid of the Insurance Companies and healthcare they provide. They dont provide healthcare, neil. Neil you know, people get a lot of their coverage healthcare coverage through their Insurance Companies that they are the ones that Bernie Sanders is saying you dont need them anymore. They are the middle man. Neil right. Im saying tell that to a lot of people by and large satisfied with what they have got. This is shocking when Kamala Harris says it at the beginning of her president ial candidacy. Neil she dialed it back. She had to dial it back, it was the ugly truth of what medicare for all means. You lose your private insurance. Once most americans heard that that campaign had to backpedal in order to reign in the messaging on that. That is the ugly reality. Anyone treated with some sort of version of medicare, its nowhere near the type of service that you get with private insurance. Neil they didnt think that this would amount to much. They thought targeting one thing. Expanding it to the degree the masses who are going to pay for all of this you have to go beyond that limited pool. Do any of you worry that especially you are a prominent democrat, are you worried that some of the prominent candidates are their chances goodbye. I do wonder whether a real educational moment for the American Public if you want to be aspirational and do things like universal healthcare its going to cost money. Neil you think the American People are ready to do that . I think its clear the American People are ready to do that and clear people recognize. Neil the lowest unemployment key demographics do you think they are prepared to interrupt that right now . I think there are virtually no americans who would recognize that there was 90 tax rate in our boom years. Neil thats not what im asking. Interrupt what they enjoy now . No. I think they would for something better. And i really have to argue against that. They wouldnt pay more . They would definitely not pay for something more this wouldnt necessarily be anything better. You are talking about you are talking about actually, i dont know which americans you are talking about that would want to pay for this kind better healthcare . To your point, neil, what you are saying is that this is going to cause a great economic disruption and it will. I think what the president has going for him coming in to 2020 is that the economy is doing so well. When people when we are talking about disrupting a major sector of the economy ahead of a president ial election where the economy is doing well, they are going to say. This location, i understand what scott is getting into. You are jumping the shark here a little bit. Go to the degree recommending usually do that in the middle of some economic. I do say its important for leaders to be aspirational. Every other nation has universal healthcare. Neil not on i want to thank you. We have a lot of news we are following including what is going on paris on this Service Going on as we speak in paris. They are still trying to get to the bottom of what happened under the Notre Dame Cathedral and exactly why. Molly line is in paris where 50 investigators are trying to get to the bottom of it. Mollie . Neil, just a few moments ago we heard a group of people break out at song here. They seem to be really an excellent choir just outside here next to the river senne. Meanwhile little bits of ash floating here in the air but the streets surrounding the cathedral where notre dame sits. Watched throughout the afternoon as the investigators looked at the scene and were to assess the Structural Integrity of what remains. At this point yesterday that massive fire was underway. Notre dames iconic spur had spr had crashed down through the roof. Those twin towers at the front had been saved determination now as to whether or not the structure is safe. Safe to investigate. Safe to seek further answers. The working theory is that this was a tragic accident related to renovations of that speiespire and surrounding structure. Roof made of timber hundreds of years old. As witnessed wood burns rapidly. Outpouring worth millions of dollars. French president Emmanuel Macron has vowed to swiftly rebuild. And im telling you today with strength, we are this people rebuilders. We have a lot to rebuild. So, yes, we will build the athletically of notre dame even more beautiful and i want for this to be done within the next five years. Its enormous cathedral and enormous job just to determine the Structural Integrity so that the dozens of investigators can plan and get inside can plan their work as well. Neil . Neil thank you very much. The vigil we are told happened late into the evening here no. Timetable set. Just the city of lights want to have a moment together to remember. When you rent from national. Its kind of like playing your own version of best ball. Because here, you can choose any car in the aisle, even if its a better car class than the one you reserved. So no matter what, youre guaranteed to have a perfect drive. [laughter] vo go national. Go like a pro. See what i did there . But allstate actually helps you drive safely. With drivewise. It lets you know when you go too fast. And brake too hard. With feedback to help you drive safer. Giving you the power to actually lower your cost. Unfortunately, it cant do anything about that. Now that you know the truth. Are you in good hands . Thanks to priceline working with top airlines to turn their unsold seats into amazing deals, Family Reunion attendance is up. Were all related yeah, i see it. And because priceline offers great deals by comparing thousands of prices in real time, sports fans are seeing more away games. Various yeahhh is that safe . Oh, y. Ahh not at all. No, maam. Nope. And more people than ever are enjoying romantic getaways. romantic music thats gross priceline. Every trip is a big deal. So, every day, we put our latest technology and unrivaled network to work. The United StatesPostal Service makes more ecommerce deliveries to homes than anyone else in the country. Neil all right. We have a dozen and a half prominent Democratic Candidates trying to take out control of the house and assume the white house. The white house might have troublpresident might havetrouby bill wells president ial candidate up for the challenge and willing to take on the president in 2020 for the republican nomination. He joins us right now to discuss why he is going to do it. Governor, very good to have you. Neil, always a pleasure to be back with you and here i am all alone in second place with a lot of those democrats give their eye teeth to be there. Neil why now, governor, the president has enormous support in the Republican Party nine out of 10 republicans like him support him going to be with him. A good many of them dont even remember you. What do you say . I think there is a loft issues that have to be vetted. Nobody has put up their hand and planted a flag. I think somebody has to do it. I think the president you and i have discussed. This i think he is really not an economic conservative. He hasnt cut spending, vetoed spending at all. I have done that. And if i get to washington thats the first thing i would do is to cut spending which permits further tax cuts. Im not at one with the president on foreign policy. I think he is insulting our allies and really cozying up to dictators, almost as though he wanted more ought ottc factions of the regime to come to the United States which is the opposite of what i want. There is lots to talk about. It might be good for the president to be put through his paces as it were and have to account for, answer for his positions. Too often, i think they amount to one word, you know, hoax for climate change. Wall for immigration. Lets flesh that out a little bit. Neil why dont you let the democrats flush it out, governor. The wrap against you were two term governor. 25 years since you were on the public scene there in that role. Even your critics say you were a very solid governor. Fiscal conservative. More socially liberal. Open to gay marriage when many in your party were not. You have some appealing qualities but in this environment where republicans think its donald trump who has delivered the strong economy. Donald trump has delivered this market on the cusp of breaking records across the board again. And that you are johnny come lately. What do you think . Im not so sure president s and governors dont get too much credit for good times and too much blame for bad times. But, be that as it may, those stratospheric Approval Ratings that you refer to those are publicly the republican state committees and republican officials and their close allies who are definitely. Neil they dont they remember, governor, fairly or not, when you supported barack obama over john mccain. They remember the fact that you bolted from the party. Libertarian candidate and then went back to the Republican Party. They see in you sort of like a flimsy friend. What do you say to them . Well, i have been except for my libertarian run i have been a registered republican since i was 18 years old which more than can you say for the current incumbent. I dont think thats an important point. My politics have really never changed no matter what hat i was running. Neil its important in primaries, right . Important in primaries and caucuses . No. But candidly it matters a lot who votes in the primaries and in massachusetts when i was running the independents its a crossover state like New Hampshire. Neil right. Independents came in and voted for me 6 to 1. Thats how i got elected. Im going to try to make a case so the millennials to the genera genxers. Suburban women should come in and vote for me and make a difference between one of two people and not one of 15 people. We will see. Anyway, thats the strategy. Neil all right. Did you give the president a heads up by the way hey, i want to challenge you . You know, i didnt. I happen to have very friendly conversations last couple of days with governor kasich of ohio. Governor hogan in maryland. Those are the only heads up discussions that i had with anybody. Neil did either of them, governor, im sorry, sir did, either of them expressed interest that they, too, were thinking of running or just wish you well . They did wish me well. I think its fair to say that both of them are looking at the situation and if the politics changes somewhat, i think either or both of them might be interested. And i think i indicated to each of them that that would be no skin off my teeth. That would be a broader cufertion. It might be harder for the president to duck debates if there were two or three other candidates in the race. So i you know, i have been encouraging both of those people and i think we all want the same thing. Which is an airing of the issues. Neil if he defeated you, governor, and then got the nomination, would you support him over the democratic candidate . You know, this is not words you want to hear from me on your nice show. I think the president s meanspiritedness means i could not endorse him for the presidency. Im not say i would endorse the democrat. Might sit it out as many people did in 2016. Neil then how would you put it together, governor, of course massachusetts obviously good exposure in New Hampshire. Many in massachusetts resident has come on to win in that fine state. Buff how would you cobble something together after that to get to as well 36 delegates you would need to be the nominee . Well, i would spend a lot of time in the midatlantic states, new york, pennsylvania, maryland, delaware, where i have spent a lot of time over the years. California, oregon, washington hospice tab, inner mountain west, some of the southwest, not all the mountain states, but some. And there would be areas of the deep south where im not going to strike a resounding cord there. Other areas where there may be opportunities. Certainly i would contest new york strongly. And starting with new york and california, and the northeastern states, the other northern states. Thats a good head start. And then the last question to be answered would be what about the west . What about the three states that the president won at the end, pennsylvania, michigan, wisconsin. Neil we will watch very, very closely. Sir, thank you very, very much. Thank you, neil. Neil President Donald Trump for the republican nomination try to take out the incumbent president. They come close they dont necessarily look at the brass ring. More after this. When we won this election it wasnt in districts like mine or alexandrias, however, she a wonderful member of congress. I think all of our colleagues will attest. Those are districts that are solidly democratic, this glass of water would win with a d next to its name. In those districts. [laughter] neil did nancy pelosi just take a jab to democratic congresswoman alexandria ocasiocortez . After she down played the influence of the congresswomans wing of the Democratic Party like five people in a 60 minutes interview. Is the speaker trying to reign in her partys more progressive members in hopes of scoring well . That is democrats scoring well in the 2020 election . Independent womens forum stephan is here and david more ray and our own charlie gasparino. What is your sense of how she was framing that that . Complimentary of the congresswoman . Look, you know, there are some districts where the democrats win and those left out here among the 40 who did come in and take over the house what do you think . Thats right. Most of those districts were moderate suburban districts. 31 of them were districts that donald trump won in 2016. So nancy pelosi definitely has her eye on those districts for 2020 that being said the fact that she has to reference aoc and 68 democrats that vote with her 95 of the time constantly the way she does says a lot about where the heart and soul of the Democratic Party is going. She knows she is down. She doesnt want to communicate that exact message to those 31 districts who voted for donald trump in 2016 that she has has to hold to hold the house. Neil that is a perilous position for a democratic leader to be in, david, period. Im wondering how your sense the leadership, that is the democratic leadership Chuck Schumer and other prominent officials who worry that this passion on the left meritorious as it might be can go a little too far. Barack obama has said he is concerned and come up with ways to pay for things. All but saying we got to chill here, right . Yeah. Good to be with you, neil. Listen, nancy pelosi is leading change and for the moment showing the rest of the government how to do so. She knows that she will lose the democrats will lose in 2020 if they go far left. Thats what happened in 1980 after reagan went to the democrats in the u. K. It happened in 1979 to the labor parity when thatcher won. A. O. C. Is more of a pace car than party leader. She won with less than 16,000 votes in the primary. 110 in the general. In some ways, look at the larger picture in 2018. There were 43 flips from republican to democrat. 40 of them were right down the middle. Including five in pennsylvania where i now am. So i think Speaker Pelosi real quick solid managing three audiences. Twitter followers, the National Electorate and the floor votes. Different audiences and distinct audiences. Neil charlie . I agree. I mean, listen, i spent a lot of timing it speaking to wall street guys Democratic Party bundlers. They raise a lot of the money. They have direct access to the candidates themselves. I will tell you this that they believe that anybody but Bernie Sanders can beat donald trump. So to see Bernie Sanders out there and if you look at like a seven person race he has whatever, 23 of the vote. Bernie sanders at least now against trump. They dont think its going to hold. At least now he looks like is he doing well. When they see that there is a freakout. You dont have to just believe me. Look at the New York Times today. But im telling you i have been speaking over the last couple weeks when these poll numbers come out showing bernie essentially in the lead in a very crowded field. There is no more establishment democrat on wall street than larry fink. He is always ban teed about to be treasury secretary. Close to clinton very close to obama. Neil black rock. Black rock ceo. He is saying point blank Bernie Sanders can win and that scarce the hell out of them. Neil as we follow numbers here and the dollar, among the candidates some of them have had eye popping numbers. Collectively its been about 80 million or so from the start amongst all of them. The president alone in just the latest 30 plus million dollars, 100 million already banked for race for which he is more prepared than any of them, even combined. And im just wondering if that speaks of the passion or lack of it than the democratic camp. What do you think . I think money is really important in these kinds of races. The last two cycles we have seen show that Media Coverage and earned Media Coverage is at least as important. Neil absolutely. Probably more so. Enthusiasm among the base is really important. Which is why nancy pelosi has such a hard tight rope to walk here. Because she knows about those moderate districts that she has to hold. But in order to build the enthusiasm in her base that we saw in 2018, in order to build that blue wave, she is going to have to appeal to the folks who really like a. O. C. They really like the hard left of the Democratic Party. They are not afraid of the word socialism by the way as the child of immigrants who fled communism terrifies me completely. Thats the reality there is a lot of people excited about that word. They do have donald trump to generate enthusiasm from their base. I mean, you know, lets be clear here, most of these candidates are progressive. They are not looney far left not socialist like Bernie Sanders but they are frozens. The democrats if they they could have their cake and eat it too. Just because have you donald trump stoking their base. I agree. Neil do you think given the fact that a lot of talk about raising taxes. Most are focusing on the upper income that thats a message that might fall on deaf ears . Do you as someone who wants to see a democrat in the white house see this as something thats going to backfire. They got to be careful. Talk more about tax reform than tax raises. You had clips of mondale that didnt work well in 84. There is a moment when democrats can win which when they go high to the center. The president has overserved his base more than any president in american history. They have to get high and above all the disruption, dysfunction and gridlock. Neil we will watch it closely. We are getting some numbers in from Corporate America in earning season. Netflix is down 1. 5 . Making some pretty good calls not on the rates some thought. Ibm disappointing on the revenue front. That stock dipping. Wall street up 68 points. We will have more an this. I have heart disease, watch what i eat, take statins, but still struggle to lower my ldl bad cholesterol. Mueller report. The more its blacked out like this the more critics are going to freak out. Were all y over it after this. Or its sign of intelligence . In crossing harsh terrain. Or breaking new ground . This is the mercedesbenz suv family. If youve never seen yourself in a mercedes, youve never seen these offers. Liberty mutual can save you money by customizing your car insurance, so you only pay for what you need. Oh. Yeah, ive been a customer for years. Huh. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Neil here is a good thing about not being a lawyer myself. I speak in very simple terms. Generally the rule of thumb on this redacted Mueller Report due out thursday the more its blacked out the more democrats in particular are going to freak out. Sometimes they can black out a lot in this stuff. The host of the liberal file on fox nation judge Andrew Napolitano here to say a good deal of that report may be up to half or more can be redacted or blacked out. Well, nonlawyer that you are, and i know you are very happy you are not a lawyer put your thumb right on it blackout equals freakout. The more of that is blacked out, the less credibility this will have and that puts the attorney general in a conundrum. Much of what he will black out he is not at liberty to reveal. But where there is wiggle room if he errs on the side of blacking out it will be revealed. Eventually it will be revealed my feel what comes out on thursday morning will be half blacked out the democrats will say come on. This is not the Mueller Report. This is the barr version of the Mueller Report. On the other hand, if there is very little thats blacked out, if the sense of what bob mueller says he found combings through then very little from sensible people. Neil you said eventually it would come out . I believe that the House Judiciary Committee will subpoena it and the attorney general will not ignore the subpoena. I will do the right thing. He will send his lawyers into court to quash the subpoena. That federal judge before whom the application was made will say let me see the whole thing and i will decide whether its in the Public Interest to revool it or president s interest to conceal it. I believe he will err on the side of revealing. Neil obviously barr knows something heavily redacted or blacked out is going to ignite this wrath and rage. But he is in a no win situation. Is he in no win situation materials that went before the grand jury about a person who was not indicted like the president. There is information there. The mueller team interviewed about 30 white house staff. What did they say about the president . Neil they are getting annoyed. And this could all come out, too. Neil yes. They are worried about their jobs. Does that mean they said bad stuff about him . Did they tell the truth . Did they tell it to a grand jury. Neil heads up to the president. Look, mueller people want to talk. I think you are obliged to do that and im going to suggest thats what they did. But how it ends up i dont know. Neil explain again what would be redacted . What are the kind of things typically you look to redact . Testimony before a grand jury about a person who was not indicted matters classified. Confidential secret, top secret. Investigations that are still going on. Information which if it is revealed would impair national security. Now the big one is testimony before the grand jury about people not indicted. Translated, anything everybody told the grand jurors about the president of the United States is going to be redacted and the democrats will not accept that. Neil a lot was redacted, wouldnt mueller and Rod Rosenstein say you redacted too much . I dont know. I dont know what kind of team players mueller and rosenstein will be once bill barrs redactions come out. For all we know, Rod Rosenstein and bob mueller are participating in these redaction decisions themselves. Neil they would mutually agree but the bullet point that came out on this. They presumably knew about those . One would think. So some of muellers team grumbled. The flair of what we found didnt come through in the four pages, so you wait until you see what comes out. If it does come out. But, look, there are members of the House Judiciary Committee, whose purpose it is to secondguess bob mueller as to whether or not there is enough evidence to prove a crime and second guess bill barr so whether or not there is enough evidence to prove a crime. In order for them to do that secondguessing they will demand to see everything. Neil my goodness. I think you are going to have a busy day. On thursday you are on every fox show, fox nation show your own show. Interrupt yourself. Thursday is going to be one heck of a day. You are the best. Neil sort of like when the bond market goes crazy. Cavuto, where is he . Aor little more after this. Hi, mrs. Gorman. Hey, theo. Police radio i have the stolen vehicle in sight. Susan li in the middle of all of that meantime new concerns for United Airlines and american and southwest on Flight Cancellations and all because of those max jet issues. And its going to mean that if you got reservations you might want to double and triple check whether you still have them for the spring and summer. Well explain. One of the benefits we as a country give our veterans is eligibility for a va loan for up to 100 of your homes value. Thank you, admiral. So if you need money for your family, call newday usa. Neil all right. So you didnt think 737 max stuff affected you. We have three Major Airlines right now that are hinting at delays, cancellations for a number of flights, maybe one of them yours. Travel analyst mark murphy. I guess, mark, what they are saying these planes are going to be grounded a while. Maybe through the summer. So what does this all mean . So, well, the good news is its a very small percentage of the overall fleets. Thats a unite great thing. They are being very proactive when you have weather coming in how they proactively cancel thousands of flights big storm and the storm never materializes here. They are doing the same thing here, they dont have the confidence in my opinion that boeing is going to get the fix in place. Thats why they are pushing stuff out literally into mid august at this point in terms of canceling flights that are going to be using these particular planes. Good news is they have plenty of planes that they can bring in as backups. So, you should not be disrupted if you are on one of those routes that those max planes fly on. Neil showing my ignorance on your ticket reservation that the plane thats designated for you is a max plane. Well, right now they are all grounded so you dont have to worry about that. You are not getting on it. Neil when it is time to fly and they reconfirm and you say oh my gosh its one of these planes and paranoid about it for good reason. What do you do . Correct. So you can see what the equipment is supposed to be, but its never guaranteed that it will be that equipment. So the airline reserves the right to switch out planes go, to an airbus or 737, 57 or whatever. Then you have no recourse because of if they change the equipment you dont get a refund on your ticket. You cant say i dont want to fly that plane. You either fly it or you lose that money on that ticket or you pay the change fee to change to a different flight plus a difference in fare. You are kind of out of luck but you can look at ahead the a those airlines. Biggest one southwest. You are not talking about a big nun when they have over 700 plane notice air at southwest and a little over a thousand with united and american in their total fleets. Neil all right. We will observe very closely. Joining us from fort lauderdale. You got a tax cut last year but if you are like two out of three americans who got that tax cut, you dont believe you did. Neil there is a perception is reality. For republicans, this perception might be a tough reality. The fact that more americans simply do not believe he ever got a tax cut from last year. Look at the top line, those who believe that they would get a tax cut versus those that actually got one. There is confusion that the percentage of americans believe they didnt, that it didnt jibe and this doesnt really help republicans. Karl rove with us right now. When you do Something Like the republicans did on the tax cut, you need to explain it and stay on it. For example, last year saying okay, everybody be prepared, the withholding tables in the way the tax cut was passed and when it was past, you might not begin to see until next year. Right now and you filed your 2017 taxes, write down how much money you made on how much your total tax bill was. You probably got a refund but write down those two figures, how much would you make and how much should you pay in taxes and then compared you file your 2018 taxes. We know from the tax tables of the vast majority of americans, vertically outside the northeast, would have been able to say i made as much or more about my the money i paid in taxes was last. Neil you know its kind of weird, though, even most americans the one per centers didnt get a disproportionate share of that. Its falling on deaf ears and im wondering if that ignores the market runup, the boom in the economy, the big surge in jobs weve seen across all key demographic groups. Is it being missed . The tax cut, were losing the messaging battle on it and have been for months. You need to stay on it, explain it and stay on it. The overall economy, look, the president s job approval today i think this 43 or 44. If you average the recent polls. His approval on the economy is in the high 50s. Cnn had a poll last month, 71 of the American People they surveyed said the economy was either very good or good for them. People are feeling it in their own lives and theyre seeing it in their paychecks. We have seen no former colleague at the National Economic council and the Bush White House had an interesting paper the other day. He pointed out that in the five years leading up to 2016, wages were increasing but the increases for supervisors were run 40 ahead of what they were for workers. In the last two years, wages are continuing to grow and they are accelerating right now workers are getting wage increases, 25 larger than their supervisors. People are feeling that their own personal finances but the republicans, we needed to have the president spending more time talking about the tax cut and we need ways to explain it so they can figure out what kind of tax cut they were going to get. The withholding tables sort of hide how much money is being taken out of your paycheck and to some degree, they hide how much money is being given back to you in the form of a lower tax payments. Neil you can look at it over the course of the year and how much is coming out of the paycheck. Could i switch gears, if youll indulge me, i had the former Massachusetts Governor who is set to take on the president for the republican president ial nomination, its an uphill battle but he thinks he can start off strongly in New Hampshire, maybe cobbled together some other new england wins, resume and big states like new york, michigan. What do you think of that strategy . Hes probably right that is the former governor of massachusetts, albeit some number of years ago, 25 years, he could be effective in New Hampshire because hes a nextdoor neighbor. Thats only the starting place and its hard to see where hes going to get traction after that. Iowa, New Hampshire, nevada, south carolina. Those are going to be the first four contests and then half the delegates to the Republican National delegation are going to be chosen in the first munch of the primaries, february through march of next year. Its hard to see how even if he was able to get lightning in New Hampshire that he could take anywhere from there. Hes gotten demonstrate some strength in New Hampshire. Neil thank you very much.
