"yes, the power of 'bec'...we've got a silent auction going on" rebecca anderson welcomed a baby girl into the world in november of 2015. shortly after that, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. "it's kind of crazy just to think that i would have breast cancer, after delivering my third baby and you know getting ready to have maternity leave," says anderson. as family and friends of anderson became aware of her diagnosis... they got together to host a benefit for rebecca, or becky as her friends call her, to raise money for the anderson family. "never in my mind did i imagine that it would be this huge of a turn out...it's amazing all the people that came together and donated items, cookd food and just got everything prepped," says anderson. items donated will be auctioned off and proceeds from the benefit will help to assist the anderson family with medical expenses. anderson's cancer has been deemed to will have over 25 weeks of chemo and radiation combined as she continues the fight for her life. she says her jounrey has allowed her to view life with a new perspective. "you never know when you're gonna leave this earth, so i think it's just taking one day at a time and being aware of your surroundings and just love life," says anderson. bria: rebecca has a fundraising page set up in her name if you would like to help out and a link to that can be found on our website at siouxland matters dot com. ready to try something new this afternoon. the mexican eatery says it will close every one of its locations for four hours today for a food safety meeting. the move comes after an e-coli outbreak at the restaurant last about 5-hundred people got sick... including several basketball players at boston college. at the meeting, employees will go over an updated food safety program implemented by the chain in january. all chipotle restauras will be closed from eleven to three in the afternoon. lukas: the c-d-c is apologizing after a controversial recommendation to women involving refraining from drinking alcohol not only during the pregnancy but also before and after ... abc's gloria rivieria has more. keep sending in your photos. simply send me a picture to slarson@kcautv. com or go to my fanpage scott larson-kcau and sent me your cutest pictures with your loved one ... we'll draw a winner every day until february 12th and you could win a 250 dollar prize pack.... lukas a sioux city man is in custody after shooting and wounding a 13 year veteran police officer early sunday morning. the officer was treated and released from the hospital eighteen-year-old isaiah mothershed is in custody after shooting the officer and the sioux city police department were called to an apartment complex at 2447 park avenue to investigate reported robberies. mothershed has had other run-ins with the law as he was arrested for kiddnapping and assaulting two men back in july of 2015. resident say the incident is out "probably like around 1:30 a.m. going on 2, i saw two ambulances pull up and then i looked out the window again and it was a bunch of police cars and of course a round 3 something they starting putting up yellow tape...i just thought somebody was sick, so i didn't know anything serious might of happened" mothershed also shot and wounded himself and is now at mercy medical center. his condition is still unknown. this case is still being investigated, if you have any information please contact crime stoppers at the number provided at the bottom of your screen. lukas one person is dead and another is in the hospital in lincoln county, south dakota after a two- vehicle crash sunday morning. two cars collided on south dakota highway 11 when the northbound car lost control and crashed into the southbound vehicle. the 16-year-old victim, wasn't wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other person was taken to a sioux falls hospital with minor injuries. stay tuned to abc9 for more details as they become available. after a long-time battle with pancreatic cancer, david allen freeman died in prison thursday at the i-m-c-c hospice care unit in coralville, iowa. freeman was arrested and incarcerated in 19-79 for the murder of steven hill. charged with first degree murder, freeman was sentenced to life in prison. he attempted to appeal his life- sentence tothe iowa supreme court in 19-80 but was denied. lukas tomorrow, voters will head to the polls for the first in the nation primary in new hampshire. the latest numbers have republican donald trump and democrat bernie sanders in the lead but their opponents are closing in. abc's kenneth moton has the very latest.
