Reporter two investigators up in portland working the case. No word on when they are returning to the bay area. They are working closely with marin county investigators on this intense case. San Francisco Police believe these three drifters are responsible for beating and shooting a canadian woman to death. They say they found some of the victims belongings with the suspect. 23yearold audrey was backpacking in the United States when she was killed. She was found near the stages of the bluegrass festival. Authorities dont know if she was attending. Its easy to assume the suspects must have stole her wallet. Police wont release that. They say they will be charged with murder and robberry. As far as what the property was, we dont want to compromise the investigation by releasing that information. The police, and suspects know what the property was. We wont be able to go into detail of what that property was. Reporter authorities now believe 67yearold steve carter was the second murder victim, his body found monday night. He was killed after audrey, san Francisco Police saima redskin county will still be the lead investigating agency. The two departments will work closely together. We were briefed here by a Police Spokesperson who is a able to meet the commander at noon for a press conference. Hes hoping more details will be released then. We are learning more information about the students involved. One person was killed, three injured. Abc 7 news reporter, janet is here. Students are back in class dealing with the aftermath of the shooting. One of the fraternities said some of their members are victims. This mornings shootings are unprecedented for Northern Arizona university located in flagstaff. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families and our entire lumber jack family. Reporter it took place in a home to many fraternities and ser ro sororities. The confrontation turned physical. A student produced a handgun. Reporter police say jones, a freshman fired multiple times at four male students. Delta Chi Fraternity confirmed some of the victims are members. Students visibly shaken shed tears as they listen to the details of this incident. A great many people are involved and need to be interviewed. A lot of things need to be accomplished before we can release the details. Reporter jones was arrested without further incident. He did not try to run. Counseling centers are set up for students and staff. This is not going to be a normal day at nau. Our hearts are heavy.
